A Simplified Synchronous Reference Frame for Indirect Current Controlled Three-level Inverter-based Shunt Active Power Filters

  • This paper presents a new simplified harmonics extraction algorithm based on the synchronous reference frame (SRF) for an indirect current controlled (ICC) three-level neutral point diode clamped (NPC) inverter-based shunt active power filter (SAPF). The shunt APF is widely accepted as one of the most effective current harmonics mitigation tools due to its superior adaptability in dynamic state conditions. In its controller, the SRF algorithm which is derived based on the direct-quadrature (DQ) theory has played a significant role as a harmonics extraction algorithm due to its simple implementation features. However, it suffers from significant delays due to its dependency on a numerical filter and unnecessary computation workloads. Moreover, the algorithm is mostly implemented for the direct current controlled (DCC) based SAPF which operates based on a non-sinusoidal reference current. This degrades the mitigation performances since the DCC based operation does not possess exact information on the actual source current which suffers from switching ripples problems. Therefore, three major improvements are introduced which include the development of a mathematical based fundamental component identifier to replace the numerical filter, the removal of redundant features, and the generation of a sinusoidal reference current. The proposed algorithm is developed and evaluated in MATLAB / Simulink. A laboratory prototype utilizing a TMS320F28335 digital signal processor (DSP) is also implemented to validate effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. Both simulation and experimental results are presented. They show significant improvements in terms of total harmonic distortion (THD) and dynamic response when compared to a conventional SRF algorithm.

  • In view of the low accuracy of the traditional FunkSVD algorithm, and in order to improve the computational efficiency of the algorithm, this paper proposes a parallel algorithm of improved FunkSVD based on Spark (SP-FD). Using RMSProp algorithm to improve the traditional FunkSVD algorithm. The improved FunkSVD algorithm can not only solve the problem of decreased accuracy caused by iterative oscillations but also alleviate the impact of data sparseness on the accuracy of the algorithm, thereby achieving the effect of improving the accuracy of the algorithm. And using the Spark big data computing framework to realize the parallelization of the improved algorithm, to use RDD for iterative calculation, and to store calculation data in the iterative process in distributed memory to speed up the iteration. The Cartesian product operation in the improved FunkSVD algorithm is divided into blocks to realize parallel calculation, thereby improving the calculation speed of the algorithm. Experiments on three standard data sets in terms of accuracy, execution time, and speedup show that the SP-FD algorithm not only improves the recommendation accuracy, shortens the calculation interval compared to the traditional FunkSVD and several other algorithms but also shows good parallel performance in a cluster environment with multiple nodes. The analysis of experimental results shows that the SP-FD algorithm improves the accuracy and parallel computing capability of the algorithm, which is better than the traditional FunkSVD algorithm.

  • This paper proposes a image compression algorithm which stores and transmites image data efficiently. The proposed compression algorithm modify enhances compression rate by modified ZIG-ZAG Scanning in JPEG standard algorithm which is based on 2D-DCT. And the up-compatible method of proposed algorithm can solve compatible problem with JPEG that is cased by modified ZIG-ZAG Scanning. And this paper presentes a block diagram of hardware for real-time processing.

A fast running FIR Filter structure reducing computational complexity

  • In this paper, we propose a new fast running FIR filter structure that improves the convergence speed of adaptive signal processing and reduces the computational complexity. The proposed filter is applied to wavelet based adaptive algorithm. Actually we compared the performance of the proposed algorithm with other algorithm using computer simulation of adaptive noise canceler based on synthesis speech. As the result, We know the proposed algorithm is prefer than the existent algorithm.

  • A new graph problem is formulated to limit the maximum path length of a general directed graph when a minimal set of vertices together with their incident edges are removed from the graph. An optimal algorithm and a heuristic algorithm are proposed and the proposed heuristic algorithm is shown to be effective through experiments using a collection of graphs obtained from large sequential circuits. The heuristic algorithm is based on a feedback vertex set algorithm based on graph reduction.

  • Genetic algorithm is a searching method which based on the law of the survival of the fittest. Multi-population Genetic Algorithm is a modified form of Genetic Algorithm, which was devised for covering the defect of general genetic algorithm. The core of multi-population genetic algorithm is said to be the migration schemes. The fitness-based migration scheme and the random migration scheme are currently used. In this paper, a new migration scheme, ‘the migration scheme between groups’, is suggested, and compared to the general two migration schemes.

  • In this paper, we propose efficient motion vector refinement algorithm for frame-rate reduction transcoding. The proposed algorithm is to set the search range for motion refinement based on the incoming motion vector. The algorithm calculates the importance of motion vector of the skipped frame and then selects two motion vector to set search range. Through this process, we determine the accuracy of incoming motion vector and set the search range lot refinement adaptively by means of the accuracy. In experiments, we show efficiency of our algorithm to reduce the search points for refinement.

  • This paper presents a newly developed speed sensorless drive using RLS based on Neural Network Training Algorithm. The proposed algorithm has just the time-varying learning rate, while the wellknown back-propagation algorithm based on gradient descent has a constant learning rate. The number of iterations required by the new algorithm to converge is less than that of the back-propagation algorithm. The theoretical analysis and experimental results to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy are described.

  • In this paper, we propose a wavelet based adaptive algorithm which improves the convergence speed and reduces computational complexity using the fast running FIR filtering efficiently We compared the performance of the proposed algorithm with time and frequence domain adaptive algorithm using computer simulation of adaptive noise canceler based on synthesis speech. As the result, the proposed algorithm is suitable for adaptive signal processing area using speech or acoustic field.

  • In this paper we introduce a new escalator(ESC) structure-based adaptation algorithm. The proposed algorithm is independent of eigenvalues spread ratio(ESR) of channel and has faster convergence speed than that of the conventional ESC algorithms. This algorithm combines the fast adaptation ability of least square methods and the orthogonalization property of the ESC structure. From the simulation results the proposed algorithm shows superior convergence speed and no slowing down of convergence speed when we increase the ESR of the channel.
