This paper describes a new technique for syntax-directed compiling of algol 60 programming language. A relatively large size of language specification is devided into two parts, one called language body and the other called language branch. The language body is compiled by the syntax-directed compiling technique and the other is compiled by the precedance method to minimize the compiling time. Also the boundary of the potions were studied during this study for the optimization.

The generating method of syntax analyzer using production language (PL) developed by Evans [1] is efficient method, but it's very difficult to construct PL. So, this paper deals with algorithm generating PL from given BNF ALGOL grammar.

We present a by-product of our long term photometric monitoring of cataclysmic variables. 2MASS J18024395 +4003309 = VSX J180243.9 +400331 was discovered in the field of the intermediate polar V1323 Her observed using the Korean 1-m telescope located at Mt. Lemmon, USA. An analysis of the two-color VR CCD observations of this variable covers all the phase intervals for the first time. The light curves show this object can be classified as an Algol-type variable with tidally distorted components, and an asymmetry of the maxima (the O'Connell effect). The periodogram analysis confirms the cycle numbering of Andronov et al. (2012) and for the initial approximation, the ephemeris is used as follows: Min I. BJD = 2456074.4904+0.3348837E. For phenomenological modeling, we used the trigonometric polynomial approximation of statistically optimal degree, and a recent method "NAV" ("New Algol Variable") using local specific shapes for the eclipse. Methodological aspects and estimates of the physical parameters based on analysis of phenomenological parameters are presented. As results of our phenomenological model, we obtained for the inclination $i=90^{\circ}$, $M_1=0.745M_{\odot}$, $M_2=0.854M_{\odot}$, $M=M_1+M_2=1.599M_{\odot}$, the orbital separation $a=1.65{\cdot}10^9m=2.37R_{\odot}$ and relative radii $r_1=R_1/a=0.314$ and $r_2=R_2/a=0.360$. These estimates may be used as preliminary starting values for further modeling using extended physical models based on the Wilson & Devinney (1971) code and it's extensions
The follow-up BVRI photometric observations of NSVS 1461538, which was discovered as an $Algol/{\beta}$ Lyr eclipsing variable by Hoffman, Harrison & McNamara (2009), were performed for three years from 2011 to 2013 by using the 61-cm telescope and CCD cameras of Sobaeksan Optical Astronomy Observatory (SOAO). New light curves have deep depths both of the primary and secondary eclipses, rounded shapes outside eclipses and a strong O'Connell effect, indicating that NSVS 1461538 is a typical W UMa close binary system rather than an $Algol/{\beta}$ Lyr type binary star. A period study with all the timings shows that the orbital period may vary in a sinusoidal way with a period of about 5.6 yr and a small semi-amplitude of about 0.008 d. The cyclical period variation was interpreted as a light-time effect due to a tertiary body with a minimum mass of $0.66M{\odot}$. The first photometric solution with the Wilson-Devinney binary model shows that the system is a W-subtype contact binary with the mass ratio ($q=m_c/m_h$) of 3.46, orbit inclination of 85.6 deg and fill-out factor of 30%. From the existing empirical relationship between parameters, the absolute dimension was estimated. The masses and radii of the component stars are $0.28M{\odot}$ and $0.71R{\odot}$ for the less massive but hotter primary star, respectively, and $0.96M{\odot}$ and $1.21R{\odot}$ for the more massive secondary, respectively. Possible evolution of the system is discussed in the mass-radius and the mass-luminosity planes.

The first high-resolution spectroscopic and new multiband photometric observations of the semi-detached Algol type binary XZ CMi were performed at the Bohyunsan Optical Astronomy Observatory (BOAO) and the Sobaeksan Optical Astronomy Observatory (SOAO), respectively. A total of 34 spectra were obtained using the 1.8 m reflector of the BOAO equipped with the Bohyunsan Optical Echelle Spectrograph to construct the radial velocity (RV) curves of the eclipsing pair. New BVRI photometric light curves were also covered by using the SOAO 61cm reflector and a CCD camera. A detailed analysis of all eclipse timings shows that the orbital period of XZ CMi has varied in an upward parabolic variation superposed on a sinusoidal oscillation with a period of 38.0 yr and a semi-amplitude of 0.0071 days. From the spectral analysis, the effective temperature and the projected rotational velocity of the primary component were determined to be Teff,1 = 7387±161 K and v1sini = 122±6 km s-1, respectively. Our simultaneous synthesis of the double-lined RV and BVRI light curves gives the reliable system parameters of XZ CMi with a mass ratio (q) of 0.314, an orbital inclination (i) of 81.9 deg and a large temperature difference (∆T) of 2481 K. The individual masses and radii of both components are M1 = 1.91±0.08M⊙, M2 = 0.60±0.02M⊙, R1 = 1.60±0.02R⊙, R2 = 1.13±0.02R⊙, respectively. Although the primary component is located inside the δ Sct and γ Dor instability strips, no evidence of pulsation in the system was detected. The possible evolutionary status of XZ CMi is discussed.
Observations with milliarsecond resolution using the Navy Optical Interferometer have been obtained for a number of stellar systems which include high-mass binaries, eclipsing binaries, and radio stars. These observations also reveal the previously unseen companions in single-lined spectroscopic binaries via directly measured flux ratios. We will present examples of published and ongoing research efforts of these systems to illustrate how an optical interferometer contributes to our knowledge of stars, their environment, and companions. These studies include a conclusive revealing of the previously unseen companion in the single-lined binary ${\Phi}$ Herculis, the direct determination of orbital parameters in the wide and close orbits of Algol, and revealing the orbit of ${\beta}$ Lyrae with spatially resolved images of the $H{\alpha}$ emission.
UBV observations of the primary eclipse of Algol-type long period eclipsing binary AY Persei have been successfully made using the 61-cm reflector at the Ilsan Station of Yonsei University Observatory in September and October, 1989. These light curves furnish ones to deduce following results; (1) the total duration of the eclipse lasted for about 0.066(0.78 days) with no clear evidence of the existence of the totality, (2) the depths of mid-eclipse of $0^m.91$ and $1^m.07$ for V and B, respectively, (3) two times of minimum light, JD2447820.203 and JD 2447820.200 for V and B, respectively, and (4) no period variation with the improved light elements, Min I =JD2427152.237+$11^d.776620e$, $pm$10 $pm$4 are made.
Oscillating Algol-type eclipsing binaries (oEA) are very interesting objects that have three observational features of eclipse, pulsation, and mass transfer. Direct measurement of their masses and radii from the double-lined radial velocity (RV) data and photometric light curves would be the most essential for understanding their evolutionary process and for performing the asteroseismological study. However, only handful oEA stars were studied in detail. To advance this subject, we have been obtaining high-resolution spectra for several oEA stars using Bohyunsan Optical Echelle Spectrograph (BOES). In this presentation, we present our results such as the accurate absolute parameters and evolutionary states for each object, based on the simultaneous analyses of the light and RV curves.

We have investigated the dynamical stability of the proposed companions orbiting the Algol type short-period eclipsing binary SW Lyncis (Kim et al. 2010). The two candidate companions are of stellar to substellar nature, and were inferred from timing measurements of the system's primary and secondary eclipses. We applied well-tested numerical techniques to accurately integrate the orbits of the two companions and to test for chaotic dynamical behavior. We carried out the stability analysis within a systematic parameter survey varying both the geometries and orientation of the orbits of the companions, as well as their masses. In all our numerical integrations we found that the proposed SW Lyn multi-body system is highly unstable on time-scales on the order of 1000 years. Our results cast doubt on the interpretation that the timing variations are caused by two companions. This work demonstrates that a straightforward dynamical analysis can help to test whether a best-fit companion-based model is a physically viable explanation for measured eclipse timing variations. We conclude that dynamical considerations reveal that the proposed SW Lyncis multi-body system most likely does not exist or the companions have significantly different orbital properties from those conjectured in Kim et al. (2010).
A period study of the semi-detached eclipsing binary system W Delphini based on the extensive series of minimum timings covering more than a century(109 years) indicates a cyclic(O-C) variation of the system. This variation can be explained as due either to (1) stellar magnetic activity cycles of the cool subgiant G5 secondary component of the binary with a subsurface magnetic field equals to 3 kG, or (2) a long-term orbital period increases with a rate of $1.68{\times}10^{-8}$ day/cycle caused by a mass transfer rate of $4.9{\times}10^{-8}M_{\odot}yr^{-1}$ from the less to more massive component modulated by a light time effect due to a hypothetical third body with period of $53.4{\pm}1.06$ years. The former explanation is more recommended than the later one since the obtained third body mass value($M_3=1.58\;M_{\odot}$) is quite large but it can not manifest itself observationally and also it cannot be a white dwarf. In the contrary, from the magnetic activity point of view, the obtained characteristics are in good consistent when applying Applegate(1992) mechanism. However, further precise photometric and CCD observations for minima timings with brightness determinations are needed to confirm the present solution.
