  • The HPL(Horizontal Protection Limit) means bound of radial horizontal error with given probability in satellite navigation system. RAIM algorithm is not available if HPL exceeds HAL (Horizontal Alert Limit). So exact calculation of HPL is very significant in RAIM algorithm. In this paper the methods that calculate HPL their own way a]:e studied and compared by simulation. And availability of RAIM algorithm is evaluated also.

  • Todays, the more information technologies(IT) like internet is developed, the more main facilities of individuals and social organizations get deeply involved in IT. Also, the trend of cyber threats such as internet worms and viruses is moving from local pc attacks to IT infrastructure attacks by exploiting inherent vulnerabilities of IT. Social organizations has a limit to response these attacks individually, and so the systematic coordinate center for social organizations is necessary. To analyze and share cyber threat information is performed prior to the construction of the coordinate center. In this paper, we survey domestic alert systems for cyber threats of related organizations and companies, and then classify them into two categories by the range of threat assessment: global alert systems for global If infrastructure and individual alert systems for each threat. Next, we identify problems of domestic alert systems and suggest approaches to resolve them.

  • Exceeding the speed limit during vehicle driving is a key factor in the severity of lots of road accidents, and SLIF(Speed Limit Information Function) application is in the initial phase in Korea. SLIF helps the drivers to observe a speed limit when they are driving by providing alert and informing the current limit speed information based on external data using camera and/or digital map, for that reason, environmental conditions could be causes of SLIF malfunctions. In this study, design adequacy analysis of SLIF in respect of false recognition as the Korea traffic environment has been performed. As tentative results, road conditions and structure of speed limit sign as well as system performance often caused misrecognition.

  • The International Maritime Organization (IMO) states that the recommended horizontal accuracy for coastal and offshore areas is 10 m, the Alert Limit (AL) is 25 m, the time to alert is 10 seconds, and the integrity risk (IR) is 10-5 per three hours. For operations requiring high accuracy, such as tugs and pushers, icebreakers, and automated docking, the IMO dictates that a high level of positioning accuracy of less than one meter and a protection level of 0.25 meters (for automated docking) to 2.5 meters should be achieved. In this paper, we analyze a method of calculating the user-side protection level of the centimeter-level precision Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) that is being studied to provide augmentation information for the precision Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT) service. In addition, we analyze standardized integrity forms based on RTCM SC-134 to propose an integrity information form and generate a centimeter-level precise PNT service plan.

  • Up to now, industrial cranes play important roles as the effective machines to carry heavy loads in the manufacturing premise, in the construction field and so on. And, a crane is widely used not only to daily work but also to carry heavy materials efficiently in a construction site for prevention of accident. However, the crane operation is highly complicated even for experts. In this paper, we developed the content of the crane mounted on the controller. This content overload conditions in the operating environment for the crane operator to warn, and the operation of equipment has the capability to limit automatically. The content for crane controller is to alert the operator overload and to limit the operation of equipment for stabilizing capabilities. The content of the flexible algorithm is based on stabilizing controllers, PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) to connect for using the equipment and electrical control systems to ensure the safety of workers and to improve the ability to work possible.

  • This paper presents the simulation results of GBAS availability and requirement (with respected to Vertical Protection Level) using simulated data at CAT I, CAT II/III DH point (Decision Height), which are generated using Jeju international GNSS reference position, aircraft horizontal velocity and reference/aircraft GNSS antenna performance index and so on. Two kinds of protection levels are presented, one is from a hypothesis (H0) and other is from a alternative hypothesis (H1). These protection levels are compared with AL (Alert Limit), and we analyse the GBAS availability and requirement for CAT I and CAT II/III at the airport.

  • This paper develops a complete methodology for the mitigation of ionosphere spatial anomalies by GBAS systems fielded in the Conterminous U.S. (CONUS). It defines an ionosphere anomaly threat model based on validated observations of unusual ionosphere events in CONUS impacting GBAS sites in the form of a linear ‘wave front’ of constant slope and velocity. It then develops a simulation-based methodology for selecting the worst-case ionosphere wave front impact impacting two satellites simultaneously for a given GBAS site and satellite geometry, taking into account the mitigating effects of code-carrier divergence monitoring within the GBAS ground station. The resulting maximum ionosphere error in vertical position (MIEV) is calculated and compared to a unique vertical alert limit, or $VAL_{H2,I}$, that applies to the special situation of worst-case ionosphere gradients. If MIEV exceeds $VAL_{H2,I}$ for one or more otherwise-usable subset geometries (i.e., geometries for which the 'normal' vertical protection level, or $VPL_{H0}$, is less than the 'normal' VAL), the broadcast ${\sigma}_{pr_{-}gnd}$ and/or ${\sigma}_{vig}$ must be increased such that all such potentially-threatening geometries have VPL$_{H0}$ > VAL and thus become unavailable. In addition to surveying all aspects of the methods used to generate the required ${\sigma}_{pr_{-}gnd}$ and ${\sigma}_{vig}$ inflation factors for CONUS GBAS sites, related methods for deriving similar results for GBAS sites outside CONUS are suggested.

  • In this study, the structural limit for concrete was experimentally determined against corrosion of steel. The structural limit was taken as (1) the deformation of concrete at yielding, (2) the maximum pull-out strength and (3) the pull-out strength at the level for uncorroded specimen. Corrosion of steel was accelerated by extracting charges from steel surface to govern degree of steel corrosion. As a result, an increase in the steel diameter resulted in an increase in the corrosion degree to reach the concrete deformation at yielding. Again, an increase in the steel diameter resulted in an increase in the extracted charge to meet the maximum and uncorroded-equivalent level for the bond strength. However, the mass loss was marginally affected by the steel size, reflecting that these parameters could be used to alert the structural limit.

  • Crane systems have been widely used for transportation in building sites, ports, nuclear wastehandling operation and so on. As a typical underactuated system, an overhead crane has such merits as high flexibility and less energy consumption. And it's getting more types of cranes, universally applicable algorithms should be developed. That is the design and development of scalable algorithms are required. Developed algorithms can be used for the controller and crane overload protection that meets the requirements of the algorithm are presented. These algorithms force the state to warn the operator and stops the operation of equipment. In this paper, crane overload conditions that can cause damage to alert the operator, and to limit the operation of equipment overload protection algorithm is presented.
