Mg-Zn-RE/Al1050 클래드재의 제조 및 기계적 특성 (Fabrication and Mechanical Characterization of the Mg-Zn-RE/Al1050 Clad Sheet)

  • The Mg-Zn-RE alloy cladded with the thin Al1050 sheet was fabricated by means of a roll bonding process at $280^{\circ}C$.Microstructures and mechanical properties of the clad sheets were investigated. After heat treatment at $230^{\circ}C$ for 30 min, an Mg-rich diffusion layer with about $2{\mu}m$ in thickness was developed at the Mg and Al interface. Tensile tests were carried out in a temperature range up to $300^{\circ}C$. The clad sheet exhibits superior elongation to failure not only at room temperature but also at elevated temperatures compared with those of the Mg alloy sheet. For the deformed specimens, interface debonding does not occur and the diffusion layer shows only a few cracks.

  • Ultra-fine grained and high hardened Al sheet was obtained by Equal channel angular pressing (ECAP). During this process the microstructure, the hardness and the texture of AA 1050 Al alloy sheet are changed by a severe shear deformation. The plastic strain ratio after the ECAP and subsequent heat-treatment condition has been investigated in this study. It was found that the average r-value of the ECAPed and subsequent heat-treated specimen was 1.7 times higher than those of the initial Al sheet. This could be attributed to the various texture formations through the ECAP and subsequent heat-treatment of AA 1050 Aluminum alloy sheet.

  • A cold roll-bonding process was applied to fabricate an AA1050/AA6061/AA1050 laminate complex sheet. Two AA1050 and one AA6061 sheets of 2 mm thickness, 40 mm width and 300 mm length were stacked up after surface treatment that included degreasing and wire brushing; material was then reduced to a thickness of 3 mm by one-pass cold rolling. The laminate sheet bonded by the rolling was further reduced to 1.2 mm in thickness by conventional rolling. The rolling was performed at ambient temperature without lubricant using a 2-high mill with a roll diameter of 210 mm. The rolling speed was 5.0 m/sec. The AA1050/AA6061/AA1050 laminate complex sheet fabricated by roll bonding was then hardened by natural aging T4) and artificial aging (T6) treatments. The microstructures of the as-roll bonded and the age hardened Al complex sheets were revealed by optical microscope observation; the mechanical properties were investigated by tensile testing and hardness testing. The strength of the as-roll bonded complex sheet was found to increase by 2.9 times compared to that value of the starting material. In addition, the hardness of the complex sheets increased with cold rolling for AA1050 and age-hardening treatment for AA6061, respectively. After heat treatment, both AA1050 and AA6061 showed typical recrystallization structures in which the grains were equiaxed; however, the grain size was smaller in AA6061 than in AA1050.

  • A study on the texture and the formability after asymmetric rolled and subsequent heat-treated AA 1050 aluminum alloy sheets have been carried out. The specimens after the asymmetric rolling showed a very fine grain size, a decrease of <100>//ND, and an increase of <111>//ND textures. The change of plastic strain ratios has been investigated and it was found that they were higher than those of the initial Al sheet.

Al-Si계 필러메탈을 이용한 A1050알루미늄의 브레이징 접합조건에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Brazing Bondinf Conditions of A1050 Using Al-Si Alloy Filler Metal)

  • The brazing of Al to Al using Al-Si alloy filler metal was performed under different bonding conditions such as ratio of lap length to plate thickness, surface roughness and joint clearance of the lap joint. The adopted thickness of the base metal in this experiments were two kinds of 4mm and 7mm which were most commonly used in various field. Influence of several bonding conditions of Al/Al joint was quantitavely evaluated by bonding strength test, and microstructural analysis at the interlayer were performed by optical microscope. From above experiments, the optimum bonding conditions of the brazing bonding of Al/Al using Al-Si alloy filler metal was determined. The major results obtained are as follows. 1) The fracture occurs at brazed joint in the conditions of that the ratio of lap length to plate thickness is less than 2 in case of 7mm plate thickness. 2) The ratio of lap length to plate thickness which the fracture occurs at base metal is decreased with the decreasing of the plate thickness. 3) The joint strength is not affected by the surface roughness and joint clearance of the brazed part. 4) The heat-treatment of the brazed joint contribute to eliminate the boundary between the base metal and filler metal. However, the joint strength is not affected by the heat-treatment.

  • The purpose of this study is to clarify the influence of the reaction temperature and $AlCl_3$ content on the aluminide coating formation on Ni-based superalloy IN713C in CVD process and to compare its throwing power with that of Pack Cementation process. Aluminide coating was formed by CVD in hot-wall stainless tube reactor from an $AlCl_3-H_2$ mixture in the temperature range $850{\sim}1050^{\circ}C$. At reaction temperature $850^{\circ}C$, the coating thickness and the content of aluminium at the surface were increased as $AlCl_3$ heating temperature was raised. At reaction temperature $1050^{\circ}C$, they were not influenced by the variation of $AlCl_3$ heating temperature. When $AlCl_3$ heating temperature was fixed $125^{\circ}C$, the phases of the coatings were varied from $Ni_2Al_3$ to Al-rich NiAl and to Ni-rich NiAl with the reaction temperature. Therefore, in this study the reaction temperature has been found to be a major factor in determining the phase formed in CVD process. The throwing power of CVD was superior to that of Pack Cementation.

AL1050 소재의 양·음각 점진성형 공법간 성형 정밀도 비교 (Forming Accuracy Comparison Between Positive and Negative Incremental Forming Al 1050)

  • Incremental forming of sheet metal is a modern method of forming sheet metal, where parts can be formed without the use of dedicated dies. Existing experimental configurations for incremental forming can be broadly classified into two categories, i.e., negative and positive forming. In this paper, forming qualities such as shape accuracy and surface roughness of Al 1050 material were discussed for different forming methods. The formed and the corresponding opposing surfaces were measured with a three-dimensional scanner and a surface roughness tester. It was found that in terms of shape accuracy, the best opposing surface was obtained with positive forming, whereas the worst formed surface was obtained with negative forming; furthermore, the opposing surface is always better than the formed surface, regardless of the forming method used.

  • 본 연구에서는 정전류 조건에서 알루미늄 합금의 PEO(Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation) 피막 형성 거동에 미치는 전해질 내 cation($K^+$, $Na^+$)의 영향을 아크 발생 양상, 전압-시간 곡선 및 형성된 표면피막 구조를 관찰하여 연구하였다. 전해질은 0.5 M NaOH + 1 M $Na_2SiO_3$ 수용액과 0.5 M KOH + 1 M $Na_2SiO_3$ 수용액이 사용되었다. 아크 발생은 cation의 종류에 상관없이 동일하게 가장자리부터 시작되어 내부로 이동함으로써 전 표면에 걸쳐서 일어났다. 전 표면에서 PEO 피막이 형성된 이후에는 한 지점에서 지속적으로 아크가 발생하는 로컬버닝 현상이 두 용액에서 모두 관찰되었으나 $K^+$이온이 포함된 용액에서 로컬버닝이 빠르게 일어났다. 시편표면에서 아크가 발생하는 동안 중 각 전해액에서의 전압-시간 곡선에서 전압의 상승과 하강이 반복되는 거동이 동일하게 관찰되었다. 이러한 전압 등락의 크기는 $K^+$ 이온이 포함된 수용액에서 더 크게 나타났으며, 그 결과 표면 거칠기가 상대적으로 더 높은 PEO 피막이 형성되었다.
