According to the prediction of Aviation Industry Corporation of China, in the next 20 years, China will have an increase of 4,583 civilian airliners, including 3,682 jumbo jets and 901 regional aircrafts. Chinese commercial aviation aircraft market will undoubtedly grow rapidly. until the year 2030, China's share of the global aircraft fleet will increase from 9% to 15%. In addition, the business jet market has a huge growing room in the global industry, the deliveries will reach 10,000 units in the next 10 years, and the Chinese market deliveries will reach 23,600 in the next 20 years. China's aviation market, is and will be enormous in the future. It is one of the main engines of economic growth in the field. China's civil aviation transportation is based on dazzling economic development. Air transport is the fastest growing power for the time being. China's aviation sector will have an average annual gross of about 10%, and more likely to continued growing and it is expected to be world's major aviation market around the world. As the result, since one of future the important industries will be emerged, Air policy enforcement and considering the reality of our future prospects for the airline industry presented.
Air intakes are an essential component of aircraft engines. They are mainly used to offer uniform airflows to engine faces. Fighter aircraft have to mask the engine face inside the fuselage in order to reduce the Radar Cross Section(RCS). Therefore, offset intakes like a S-Duct are one of promising components for this purpose. During a fight, it is unavoidable that the flow will enter the intakes at some face angles other than zero. In this case, the performance of the aircraft engine will be influenced to the angle of incidence. In this study, the CFD analysis of the semi-circular S-Duct with AR(0.5,0) is performed to investigate the influence of the angle of incidence on the performance of the S-Duct using a distortion coefficient. To consider the adverse pressure gradient, a $k-{\omega}$ SST turbulence model is employed. The secondary flow and flow separation are observed for all computational cases. It is found that the positive incidence angle produces the best performances.

In this paper, the ventilating and heating system of T-103 trainer aircraft were investigated and redesigned to improve its poor performance. The ventilation system of the trainer was designed to increase the mass flow rate of fresh air by using air intake valves. The flow-in air through the air intake valve is supplied to the cabin by the ram effect of aircraft and the propeller. And the additional heating system was installed to improve the temperature of the cabin inside. The wasted heat from the exhaust gas of the engines was used as heat source of the additional heating system by installing an heat exchanger around the exhaust nozzle. The additional fresh air and the heated air enter the cabin via two ducts mounted under the instrument panel and behind the pedal in the cabin. The additional ventilating and heating system can be controlled by the first pilot and the secondary pilot individually using the control knob equipped separately. After mounting the additional ventilating and heating system, evaluations such as inspection of parts and component, ground run-up test, in-flight test, user test, etc. were conducted. The result of the tests was sufficient to meet the requirements of the manuals, and the pilots were satisfied with the additionally mounted systems.

The purpose of this study is to suggest a method for the efficient preventive maintenance of aircraft gas turbine engine turbine blades. For this study, the types and characteristics of gas turbine engines and its turbine blades were studied, the turbine blade defect types that caused an In-Flight Shut Down(IFSD) were analyzed, the blade failure rate according to the blade life cycle was analyzed through the Weibull distribution, one of the statistical techniques. Through these research results, it is possible to supplement the problems of the life cycle management and maintenance method of the turbine blade, and to suggest the measures to strengthen the preventive maintenance of the turbine blade. In this analysis, when total cycle of turbine blade exceeds 18,000 cycles, the failure rate is over 98%, and then the special management measures are required.
Electron beam physical vapor deposition (EB-PVD) process has currently been applied to thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) for aircraft engines. Due to unique columnar structure, EB-PVD TBCs have advantages in resistances to thermal shock and thermal cycle for their applications, compared to films prepared by plasma spray By the EB-PVD equipment, we successfully obtained yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) layer which has columnar and feather like structure including a large amount of nano size pores and gaps. The EB-PVD technique has been developed for coating functional perovskite type oxides such as (La, Sr)MnO3. Electrode properties have been improved by interface and structural control.

In this research, a high temperature superconducting(HTS) motor is designed which is adequate for an electrical aircraft by generating high power density and the potentiality of its application to an aircraft is studied. The designed motor is based on YBCO plates, HTS coils composed of Bi-2223, and ironless air cooled resistive armature. The HTS motor is designed to generate power equivalent to O-360 engine with 180HP at 2700RPM which is used for Cessna and equivalent to CFM56 engine with 18000HP at 5000RPM which is used for B-737. Also, power densities of HTS motors are compared with power densities of aircraft engines so that we can estimate the potentiality of the HTS motor as an aircraft engine.

As hypersonic flight speeds and engines efficiencies increase, heat loads on an aircraft and it's engine increase. Because the temperature of the air flow is too high to cool the aircraft structure at hypersonic flight speeds, it is essential to use the aircraft fuel as the primary coolant. Endothermic fuels are liquid hydrocarbon aircraft fuels which are able to absorb the heat loads by undergoing endothermic reactions, such as thermal and catalytic cracking. The endothermic reactions are improved by catalysts which change the extent of reaction and product distribution. At high temperature, liquid hydrocarbons would lead to coke formation that can reduce the effectiveness of heat exchanger and cause rapid degradation of the catalyst, thus endothermic capacity of endothermic fuels is limited to the temperature at which coke doesn't form. In this study, the essential cooling technologies by applying endothermic fuels and the properties of the endothermic fuels are described.
Turbine inlet temperature is steadily increasing to achieve high specific thrust and efficiency of gas turbine engines. Turbine cooling technology is essential to increase turbine inlet temperature. For this study, a small or medium sized aircraft engine of 10,000 lbf class with the turbine inlet temperature of $1,400^{\circ}C$, the engine overall pressure ratio of 32.2, and the bypass ratio of 5 was set as the baseline model and its performance analysis was performed at the design point. The engine has the performance of 10,013 lbf thrust and the specific fuel consumption of 0.362 lbm/hr/lbf. The thrust and the specific fuel consumption of the baseline model were compared with those of similar class engines. Based on these results, the turbine design requirements were assigned. In addition, the parametric analysis of the engine, related to aerodynamic and cooling design of the high pressure turbine, was performed. Based on the baseline model engine, the influence of turbine inlet temperature, cooling flow ratio, and high pressure turbine efficiency variations on the engine performance was analyzed.
Automatic trajectory re-planning is an integral part of unmanned aerial vehicle mission planning. In order to be able to perform this task, it is necessary to dispose of formulas or tables to assess the flyability of various typical flight segments. Notwithstanding their importance, there exist such data only for some particularly simple segments such as rectilinear and circular sub-trajectories. This article presents an analysis of a new, very efficient, way for an airplane to fly on an inclined circular trajectory. When it flies this way, the only thrust required is that which cancels the drag. It is shown that, then, much more inclined trajectories are possible than when they fly at constant speed. The corresponding equations of motion are solved exactly for the position, the speed, the load factor, the bank angle, the lift coefficient and the thrust and power required for the motion. The results obtained apply to both types of airplanes: those with internal combustion engines and propellers, and those with jet engines. Conditions on the trajectory parameters are derived, which guarantee its flyability according to the dynamical properties of a given airplane. An analytical procedure is described that ensures that all these conditions are satisfied, and which can serve for producing tables from which the trajectory flyability can be read. Sample calculations are shown for the Cessna 182, a Silver Fox like unmanned aerial vehicle, and an F-16 jet airplane.
