  • This paper presents a methodology for evaluating suitability of a manned-unmanned aerial vehicle team for a complicated mission. The study identified vehicle performance, equipment performance and level of autonomy as the key factors that affect the mission effectiveness. A manned and an unmanned aircraft were compared, and their performance was quantized in these respects. SEAD was chosen as a representative manned-unmanned team mission. The SEAD mission was broken down to a sequence of tasks. Mission experts evaluated the importance of each mark item for the mission legs. Combining the results showed proper type of aircraft for each leg depending on the complexity, safety, and importance of the task. Finally, the whole mission plan was laid out as a time-based sequence which alleviate pilot workload significantly.

  • The paper presented here covers the work associated with the flight control law design, ground based and in flight simulation and handling qualities assessment of the Fly-by-Wire type Aircraft (FBWA). The FBWA configurations are of the same generic form of the Korean advanced trainer. The normal acceleration (Nz) and pitch rate (q) feedback control system is employed for longitudinal axis and roll rate (p) and lateral acceleration (Ny) feedback flight control law is developed in lateral/ directional axis. The flight tests for the FBW A dynamics evaluation were executed for the target aircraft (FBWA) on the IFS (In-Flight-Simulator) aircraft . The test results showed that Level 1 handling qualities for the most unstable flight regime and Level 1/2 for the landing approach flight regime were achieved. And the designed FBWA flight control law has revealed acceptable CHR (Cooper-Harper handling qualities Ratings).

  • This study is a part of ???A study of the community noise:new guideline and policy' which have three main topics and ten sub-topics. Accordingly this part deals with a transpotation noise specifying road traffic ,railroad and aircraft noise, respectively. At first, the ,roadside traffic noise of whole country in 2004 ,22 major cities of total 29 was exceeded the envionmetal noise standards, 55dB(A) at night time ,therefore 24 milion people ,52.4% of korean, who reside at roadside estimates to be exposured the basic problems of this serious noise polluation comes from:: i)It's very limited noise mitigation measures against to continuously increase the number of automobile yearly. ii) and at beginning of road design, It has been neglect to introduce the anti-noise design and layout of road structural scheme as gadient, cutting and viaduct, embankment and zonning of roadside land-buffer area and also re-designation of noise sensitive areas, etc. Secondly ,concerned with the railroad trafffic noise, a inhabitants who are over the envionmetal noise limits,70dB(A), 65 dB(A) in day and night for 34 locations of mayor cities was exposured of 167,000 and 329,000 respectively. With the development of noise mitigation schemes in line with this study it is likely that noise monitoring system needs new installation as well as common use of noise assessment index with $L_{MAX}\;and\;L_{EQ}$. Lastly, noise complaints of millitary aircraft has been rapidly increasing ,so 2.9%(1.4 minion) person demands a compansation of \2,133 billion complying with their requirements we suggest to minimise the airport noise that is to develop of noise abatement procedure ,to make new noise index, to increase budget for house insulations and also to more increase of those the noise monitoring system and to unify the management etc.

  • RTCA DO-178C is a development guideline to ensure aircraft system airworthiness. However, there is an opinion that the application of DO-178C to the development of UAV of more than MTOW 150 kg is over regulated because the severity of the risk from UAV is lower than that of normal aircraft. To address issue, EASA and FAA have been working on the Re-Engineering and Streamlining the Standards for Avionics Certification(RESSAC) project since 2016 with the goal of establishing a new certification scheme that simplifies existing aircraft certification procedures and standards. This paper analyzes the current DO-178C certification process and presents advantages by comparing and analyzing the new RESSAC certification process, which simplifies processes and outputs in comparing with the DO-178C certification process, while it ensures flight safety of the vehicle.

  • UAVs are unmanned, autonomous or remotely piloted aircraft. As UAVs become smaller, lighter and more economical, their applications continue to expand. Researches on UAVs in the field of remote sensing show development methods and purposes similar to those on satellite images, and they are widely used in studies such as 3D image composition and monitoring. In the field of environmental impact assessment(EIA), satellite information and data are mainly used. However, only low-resolution images covering long distances and large-scale data allowing for rough examination are being provided, so their uses are seriously limited. Therefore, in this paper, we construct spatial information of forest area by using unmanned aerial vehicle and seek efficient utilization and policy improvement in the field of environmental impact assessment. As a result, high-resolution images and data from UAVs can be used to identify the location status of SEIA, EIA, and small scale EIA project plans and to evaluate detailed environmental impact analysis. In addition, when provided together with infographics about Post-environmental impact investigation, it was confirmed that the possibility of periodic spatial information construction and evaluation can be used throughout the entire project contents and project post-process.In order to provide sophisticated infographics for the EIA, drone photography and GCP surveying methods were derived. The results of this study will be used as a basis for improving high-resolution monitoring and environmental impact assessment in the forest sector.

  • This study is designed to understand current wearing conditions of air force mechanic parkas and evaluate their functionality by examining the wearing conditions and wearers' subjective assessment. By doing so, it also intends to identify issues that require improvements; and to provide basic data for future development of air force mechanic parkas. A survey was conducted as a study methodology, and the collected 1,628 questionnaires were analyzed. Findings of this study are as follows. 1. In the usability assessment, it was found that visibility of body sides was needed to be enhanced since reflective tapes were attached only to the front and back of the body; pockets were too big, but not convenient to keep mechanic tools; the design of hiding hood was not suitable for water-proof clothing; and a new design of size-controllable hood was called for since the hood blocked eye sight. With respect to the fabric, dissatisfaction was identified with durability, cold-proof and fire-proof features. 2. In the mobility assessment, respondents showed low satisfaction with collar heights and neck girths. Mobility score was over moderate level on average, except the parka length that obstructs wearers' movement, and neck and collar size. 3. In the wearability assessment, respondents presented moderate satisfaction with pleasantness, weight, pressure and dampness. However, insulation was found unsatisfactory. Based on the result, this study proposed improvement plans on design, pattern and fabric; and is expected to serve as basic data for developing more effective and functional air force mechanic parkas.
