축산폐수 전처리를 위한 암모니아 탈기공정의 운전조건이 암모니아 제거에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Operating Condition of Stripping Process on Ammonia Removal for Pre-treatment of Swine Wastewater)

  • Lab-scale experiments have been carried out to investigate ammonia stripping with a modified spray tower for removing ammonia nitrogen from swine wastewater. The operating conditions such as initial pH, temperature, air flow, hole size of distributor determining the diameter of water drops, and influent solids concentration were closely examined focusing on removal efficiency of ammonia. As a result of the experiment, in order to achieve high rate of ammonia removal by the air stripping system, the air flow rate must be supplied at high rate with sufficiently high initial pH, temperature. The optimum operating condition to meet the residual ammonia concentration of 300 mg/L was the initial pH of 11.0 at $35^{\circ}C$ with the air flow rate of 20 L/min. It also showed that the smaller hole size is, the higher removal rate of ammonia is expected. However, when used a small sized distributor (2 mm), the flooding problem at the upper column occurred due to clogging of the hole. With regard to the influent solids concentration, it was showed that the lower concentration of solids, the higher removal rate of ammonia. The removal of particulate materials in influent led to improve the removal efficiency of ammonia, rather than to control the operating condition including initial pH, temperature, and air flow. The empirical correlation between KLa and operating parameters would be driven as, $K_{La}=(0.0003T-0.0047){\cdot}G^{0.3926}{\cdot}L^{-0.5169}{\cdot}C^{-0. 1849}$. The calculated $K_{La}$ from proposed formula can be used effectively to estimate the optimum reaction time and to calculate the volume of modified spray tower system.

  • 우리나라의 생활하수는 C/N 비가 낮아서 생물학적인 방법으로 영양염류를 제거하는데 어려움이 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 외부탄소원의 주입 없이 C/N 비를 높일 수 있는 암모니아 스트리핑에 의해 질소를 제거할 때 공기 공급량, 수리학적 체류시간, pH 등의 운전인자가 질소 제거에 미치는 영향을 규명하고자 하였다. 실험에 이용된 소규모 암모니아 스트리핑 시스템의 규격은 직경이 15 cm, 높이가 150 cm이며 담체의 사용 유무에 따라 AS I 및 AS II의 2개 형태로 구분하였다. 연구 결과 플라스틱 담체를 사용한 AS I의 T-N 제거율이 담체 없이 실험한 AS II에 비해 다소 높았다. 공기량 30 L/min 및 pH 12.5의 동일 실험 조건에서 HRT가 길어질수록 T-N 제거율은 높아졌으며, 36 hr의 같은 HRT 조건에서는 공기공급량이 증가할수록 T-N 제거율이 개선되는 경향을 보였다. 한편 C/N 비가 암모니아 스트리핑에 의해 평균 3.9에서 5.4로 향상되었다.

  • Groundwater, contaminated predominantly with aromatic compounds and chlorinated ethylene, could be biologically treated in a fluidized-bed reactor with immobilized cells. The decomposition efficiency for the aromatics was over 90% at the retention time of 2.5 h. The chlorinated ethylenes, especially trichloroethylene (TCE) and cis-dichloroethylene (DCE), could be decomposed only insufficiently. No anaerobic methane formation was observed for this groundwater even at a very low dissolved oxygen (DO) concentration of 0.75 mg/L. The variation of DO concentration resulted in an optimal value of 1.5 mg/L. The recycle of air waste could increase the utilization of oxygen. The amount of low boiling pollutants stripped out remained constant with the recycle, while for the higher boiling pollutants the stripping slightly increased. Using air instead of oxygen increases the flow rate of air waste, which is connected to a higher stripping of pollutants. In this investigation, the pollutant concentration in the air waste remained constant. The stripping of main pollutants did not exceed 0.3 %.

  • 이산화탄소 분리 및 메탄 회수를 동시에 수행하기 위한 배출구가 두 개로 분리된 내부순환식 기포탑 반응기를 이용하여 $CO_2$ 분리용 흡수제인 모노에탄올아민(MEA)의 최적조건을 도출하였다. 5 wt% MEA 수용액에서 이산화탄소의 흡수 및 탈기 반응 시 pH 변화, 공기주입량에 따른 이산화탄소 탈기량 및 메탄 함량변화를 관찰하였다. 또한 액상수위 및 초기 MEA 흡수액 온도변화에 따른 이산화탄소 흡수 및 메탄 회수율을 측정하였다. 최적반응조건은 정상상태에서 액상수위 40 mm, 공기주입량은 1.5 L/min, 흡수액의 온도 $25^{\circ}C$이었다

폐수의 감압 암모니아 탈기에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Decompressed Ammonia Stripping from Ammonia Contained Wastewater)

  • This study aims at finding out pertinent reaction conditions for treating high concentration ammonia contained in N-chemical factory wastewater with decompressed ammonia stripping method that was designed. And it also tries to investigate adsorption capability of removed ammonia to soil. The results from experiments are as follows ; 1. The removal rate of N $H_3$-N of synthetic wastewater was under 85% at pH 10 with decompressed ammonia stripping method. The reaction time in pressure 360 mmHg at pH 11 and 12 was shorter than in 460 mmHg, and the removal rate of N $H_3$-N with decompressed ammonia stripping method at 9$0^{\circ}C$ was 11~15% higher than air stripping 2. The optimum conditions for decompressed ammonia stripping with synthetic sample were shown as pH 12, temperature 9$0^{\circ}C$, internal reaction pressure 460 mmHg and reaction time 50 minutes. These conditions were applied to treat the wastewater containing organic-N 290.5mg/$\ell$, N $H_3$-N 168.9mg/$\ell$, N $O_2$-N 23.2mg/$\ell$, N $O_3$-N 252.4mg/$\ell$, T-N 735mg/$\ell$. Organic-N turned out to be removed 60%, the removal rate of N $H_3$-N IS 94%, T-N is 50%. But N $O_2$-N and N $O_3$-N were increased with 7.8% and 14.9% respectively. 3. The CO $D_{Sr}$ removal rate in decompressed ammonia stripping reaction was 42% and S $O_4$$^{2-}$ was removed 8.2%. It was turned out caused with higher pH and thermolysis. 4. In soil adsorption of ammonia desorbed from the decompressed stripping process of wastewater, the recovery rate was 76% in wet soil.

Combination of air stripping and biological processes for landfill leachate treatment

  • Landfill waste decomposition generates a dark effluent named, leachate which is characterized by high organic matter content. To minimize these polluting effects, it becomes necessary to develop an effective landfill leachate treatment process. The objective of this study was to evaluate the performance of an innovative approach based on air stripping, anaerobic digestion (AD) and aerobic activated sludge treatment. A reduction of 80% of ammonia and an increase of carbon to nitrogen ratio to 25 were obtained, which is a suitable ratio for AD. This latter AD was performed in fixed bed reactor with progressive loading rate that reached 2 and 3.2 g COD/L/d for the raw and diluted leachate (1:2), respectively. The anaerobic treatment led to significant removal of chemical oxygen demand (COD) and biogas production, especially for the diluted leachate. The COD removal was of 78% for the raw leachate and a biogas production of 4 L/d with 70% methane content. The use of the diluted leachate led to 81% of COD removal and 7 L/d biogas with 75% methane content. It allowed a removal of 77% COD and more than 97% of the organic compounds present in the initial leachate sample.

비탈형 거푸집에 의한 고강도 콘크리트의 폭렬방지 (Spalling Resistance of High Strength Concrete Using Non-Stripping Form)

  • 본 연구에서는 최근 사용이 증대되고 있는 고성능 콘크리트의 폭렬현상을 방지하기 위해 일련의 연구 중 메탈라스 횡구속을 병행한 비탈형 거푸집을 사용한 고성능 콘크리트 RC기둥부재의 내화특성을 검토하였는데, 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 유동성 및 공기량은 모두 목표 범위를 만족하였고, 압축강도는 재령 28일에서 80 MPa이상으로 고강도범위를 나타내었다. 폭렬 특성으로는 섬유를 혼입하지 않은 플레인의 경우는 심한 폭렬이 발생하였고, 나일론(이하 NY)+폴리프로필렌(이하 PP) 섬유를 0.05%를 혼입한 경우에는 표면부에만 부분적인 박리폭렬이 발생하였다. 비탈형 거푸집 변화에 따라서는 비탈형 25-20, 비탈형 50-20의 경우에는 모두 마 감재부분에 폭렬이 발생하였는데, 비탈형 50-20의 경우가 비탈형 25-20보다 양호한 폭렬방지 성능을 나타내었다. 비탈형 50-40의 경우는 폭렬이 방지되었는데 질량감소율은 10%이하로 나타났고, 온도이력은 모재표면부 최고온도가 $376.1^{\circ}C$로 가장 우수한 내화 성능을 나타내었다.

영가철 충진 복극전해조를 이용한 질산성질소 및 대장균의 연속식 제거 (Continuous Removal of Nitrate and Coliform using Bipolar ZVI Packed Bed Electrolytic Cell)

  • Nitrate is a common contaminant in industrial wastewater and ground water. The maximum contaminant level set by EPA for nitrate of 10 mg/L as N. In this study, nitrate was removed using bipolar ZVI packed bed electrolytic cell that maximized the contact area between each electrode and contaminants under 600 V. Also this study investigates the simultaneously deals with removal of ammonia by operating air stripping tower. In addition to the air stripping also helped to precipitate iron ions to the form of iron oxides. Bipolar ZVI packed bed electrolytic cell was also effective in removing coliform by electrical power. In the continuous experiments for the simulated wastewater (initial nitrate for 25 mg/L as N), maximum 96.3% removal of nitrate was achieved in the applied 600 V at the flow rate of 6 mL/min.

소독부산물인 Haloacetonitriles의 광분해 및 제거 (Removal and Photodecomposition of Haloacetonitriles of Disinfection byproducts)

  • 먹는물에서 염소소독 부산물로서 휘발성유기화합물인 디클로로아세트니트닐(DCAN), 트리클로로아세트니트릴(TCAN), 디브로모아세트니트릴(DBAN), 브로모클로로아세트니트릴(BCAN)의 4종류의 물질을 대상으로 탈기법(air stripping) 및 탈기법(air stripping)과 자외선에너지($8\;W{\times}6$)를 이용하여 분해시험을 행하였다. 물질들의 확인은 가스크로마토 그래프, 이온크로마토그래프 그리고 자외선분광광도계를 사용하였다. TCAN은 탈기법 이용한 방법에서 제거가 되었으며, DBAN과 BCAN에서는 자외선에너지에 의해 분해가 되었다.

충전탑 공기 스트리핑과 활성탄 흡착의 경제성에 관한 연구(다중성분계) (A Study on Economics of Air Stripping Towers and Activated Carbon Adsorption(Multicomponent System))

  • The optimum design and preliminary cost estimations of air stripping towers ASTs with granular activated carbon adsorption (GAC) systems as the off-gas treatment were done and compared to liquid-phase GAC system. The optimum design and preliminary cost estimations were done for either single or multicomponent systems. A computer program was developed for this study. 15 single compounds and their multicomponent systems were studies. Even with off-gas treatment, AST was generally a less expensive process for treatment of volatile organics than liquid-phase GAC system. Treatment costs of small systems were sensitive to system capacity. Accumulative effect of treatment costs was found in multicomponent systems. The cost of a multicomponent system was highly dependent on the least strippable component in ASTs even with gas-phase GAC or the least adsorbable component in liquid-phase GAC system.
