확대모델을 이용한 특성화된 핀형상의 열전달평가 (An Evaluation of Heat Transfer Characteristics of Individualized Fin Type Using Large Scale Model)

  • In recent years, air-conditioning units designed with higher efficiency and more compactness are required due to emphasis on energy efficiency in home electrical appliances. This trend in the air-conditioning industries has accelerated the development of improved heat exchanger with a better performance in heat transfer aspects. In this study, experiments were performed to investigate the shape and configuration of fins affecting on the performance of the conventional fin-and-tube type heat exchanger equipped in a commercial air conditioners. The geometry similtude method was employed to measure the heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop. Experimental results show that this method is very useful to analyze the heat transfer characteristics of the fin-and-tube type heat exchanger. It is also found that the slit fin has better performance than the conventional fin type in the air conditioners. The present results indicate that heat transfer from the fin si influenced by the parameters such as the forming area of the slit fin, the type of interrupted surfaces like a louver or slit, slit patterns and slit raised direction, and it also affects the overall heat exchanger performance.

파종기와 Polyethylene 필름 피복방법이 단옥수수 생산에 미치는 영향 (Temperature and Sweet Corn Production at Different Planting Dates under Polyethylene Tunnel and Mulch)

  • 단옥수수 품종 Great Bell을 3월 5일, 15일, 25일과 4월 4일에 파종하고, 파종기마다 투명 P.E. 필름의 Tunnel, Tunnel slit 및 Mulch가 기온, 지온 및 단옥수수의 생육과 수량에 미치는 영향은 다음과 같다. 1. 최고최저기온과 최고최저지온 모두 Tunnel>Tunnel slit> Mulch의 순으로 높았으며 P.E. 필름 처리간 온도차이는 최고기온 및 지온은 컸으나 최저기온 및 지온은 적었다. 2. 4월 하경에 Tunnel내 기온이 4$0^{\circ}C$가 넘어 필름을 열면 Tunnel구의 기온은 Mulch에서와 같으나 지온은 낮았다. Tunnel slit는 필름을 열지 않고 slit수를 증가시켜 고온장해를 피할 수 있었다. 3. 옥수수 유묘기의 저온피해는 Mulch에서는 지상부가 고사하였으나 재생되었고, Tunnel slit에서는 잎의 일부가 피해를 입었으나 Tunnel에서는 피해가없었다. 4. 3월 5일 및 15일 파종에서 Tunnel은 Tunnel slit나 Mulch보다 초기생육과 출사를 촉진시켰으나 고온으로 낮에 필름을 열었던 3월 25일 및 4월 4일 파종에서는 오히 려 지연시켰다. 5. 파종이 늦을수록 파종에서 출사까지 일수가 단축되어 3월 25일 파종에 비하여 3월 5일 및 15일 파종은 출사가 2~3일 빨랐으며 4월 4일 파종은 6~9일 늦었다. 6. 적조위축병은 한기파종에서 이병율이 높았으며, 3월 25 일 및 4월 4 일 파종의 Tunnel slit에서는 생육초기에 필름을 열지 않아 적조위축병 이병율이 Tunnel 이나 Mulch보다 낮았다. 7. 상품성 있는 웅수수는 적조위축병이 심했던 3월 5일 파종의 Mulch를 제외하면 모든 처리간에 차이가 없었다. 조수입은 상품가치가 큰 웅수가 많았던 3월 25일 파종의 Tunnel 및 Tunnel slit와 가격이 높고 웅수가 많았던 3월 5 일 파종의 Tunnel과 Tunnel slit에서 높았다.

Longitudinal and transverse tube spacings of the heat exchangers are 21.65 mm and 25mm respectively. Actual heat exchanger was tested using water, and the tests were performed for 2 row heat exchangers with 3 different fin spacings, 1.3, 1.5 and 1.7 mm. The overall performance of the enhanced fins was evaluated by comparing heat transfer coefficient with respect to fan power

  • The area of flat glass panel displays such as LCD (Liquid crystal display) and PDP (Plasma display panel) has been increased more than 2 $\times$ 2 m$^2$ for productivity improvement. However, such a large panel area incurs large panel deflection during panel transfer using robots or AGV (Automated guided vehicle) systems. Therefore, electronic industries are making an effort to find an alternative transfer system for the large glass panels with small deflection. The air conveyor with porous pads is one plausible solution, but it becomes expensive because the large porous pads cost much and air consumption increases as the panel area increases. In this work, a simple air slit levitating conveyor was devised to lower the equipment cost and to reduce the air consumption of system. The air flow model between the LCD glass panel and conveyor was constructed and its validity was verified by experiments. To minimize the air consumption, the conveyor dimensions were optimized, and the air consumptions between the air conveyors with the air slit and that with the porous pad were compared.

  • The present study investigated the effect of air velocity on frost formation of slit fin-and-tube heat exchanger under frosting condition. The slit fin-and-tube heat exchanger with outer tube diameter 7.0mm and 1 row was used. Air side pressure drop, photographs of frost distribution, frost accumulation and frost thickness were presented with respect to the frosting time. In the early stage of experiment, the case with air velocity of 1.5m/s showed 403% higher for the air pressure drop than the case with the air velocity of 0.5m/s. As the frost was accumulated, the effect of air velocity on air pressure drop was decreased. In the end stage of test, air pressure drops of two cases were very close and air pressure drop for the air velocity of 0.5m/s was higher than that of 2.0m/s. It was also shown in the photographs of frost distribution, frost accumulation and frost thickness. From frost thickness, fanning friction factor was presented.

  • A correlation between an air inflow velocity and $NO_x$ emission is investigated numerically. The area of a swirl premixed burner is controlled geometrically to increase or decrease an air inflow velocity. When an air velocity increases, mixedness at the burner exit is improved and NO emission at the liner exit is reduced. Although the area of an air slit is the same, NO emission shows discrepancy due to difference of air slit shapes.

러닝웨어 재킷의 슬릿 위치가 통기성과 착용감에 미치는 영향 (Ventilation and Comfort Sensation by Slit Positions of Running Wear Jackets)

  • This study investigates the influence of slit positions on the microclimate temperature/humidity of garments. To design the slits, a market survey was performed to indicate the method to apply the slits, in addition to a literature survey about muscles and body surface variation through body movements. Based on the survey, three positions of slits were selected, shoulder slit, lowback slit, and midback slit, a slit width of 1cm and length to 30cm was used. The results showed that microclimate temperatures/humidity on the back according to the slit positions were in the order of, lowback, midback, and the shoulder. The lowback slit showed the highest effect on the temperature/humidity of a front trunk. Lowback slits affected on localized areas of the glutaeus maximus, erector spinae, and latissimus dorsi. Midback slits affected the back muscle and deltoid. Shoulder slits showed a more significant effect on the localized area of the deltoid versus other localized areas. In the subjective sensations, the lowback slit was cooler, dryer, and more comfortable than the other slits. For the subjective sensations by fabric characteristics, the slit positions correlated at |r|${\geq}.8$ and were significant at p<.001 The results show that the lowback slit has a superior air exchange effect and thermoregulation qualities.

  • Water condensate accumulated on the surface of a fin-and-tube heat exchanger significantly affects its thermal and hydraulic performances. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of condensate retention on the air-side heat transfer performance and flow friction for various flow and geometric conditions. Total of twelve samples of slit and plate fin-and-tube heat exchangers are tested under dry and wet conditions. The thermal fluid measurements are made using a psychrometric calorimeter. Frontal air velocity varies in the range from 0.7 m/s to 1.5 m/s. Using the experimental data, presented are heat transfer coefficients in terms of Colburn j-factors and friction factors, and these data are compared with the existing correlations.
