구리 재질의 평판 핀과 나선형 핀이 사용된 핀-관 열교환기의 공기측 성능 (Air-Side Performance of Fin-and-Tube Heat Exchanger with Copper Plate or Copper Spiral Fins)

  • 본 연구에서는 구리 재질의 평판 핀과 나선형 핀-관 열교환기에 대하여 핀 피치와 열수의 변화에 따른 공기측 전열성능을 검토하였다. 두 형상 모두 핀 피치가 열전달계수에 미치는 영향은 미미하였다. 마찰인자는 핀 피치가 증가하면 증가하였다. 열수가 미치는 영향은 형상에 따라 다르게 나타났다. 평판 핀-관 열교환기의 경우 열전달계수는 열수가 증가할수록 감소하였다. 하지만 나선형 핀-관 열교환기의 열전달 계수는 열수가 증가하면서 그 값이 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 평판 핀-관 열교환기의 열전달계수는 나선형 핀-관 열교환기의 열전달계수보다 높게 나타났다. 하지만 열수가 증가하면 그 차이가 줄어들어 4열이 되면 거의 같았다. 한편 마찰인자는 평판 핀-관 열교환기에서 다소 높게 나타나고 열수의 영향은 크지 않았다. 본 실험 데이터를 기존 상관식의 예측치와 비교하였다.

호흡 감지를 위한 복부 부착형 전도성 고무소자의 계측특성 (Characteristics of conductive rubber belt on the abdomen to monitor respiration)

  • Conductive rubber material was molded in a belt shape to measure respiration. Its resistivity was approximately $0.03{\;}{\Omega}m$ and the resistance-displacement relationship showed a negative exponent. The temperature coefficient was approximately $0.006{\;}k{\Omega}/^{\circ}C$ negligible when practically applied on the abdomen. The conductive rubber belt was applied on a normal male's abdomen with the dimensional change measured during resting breathing. The abdominal signal was differentiated ($F_{m}$) and compared with the accurate standard air flow rate signal ($F_{s}$) obtained by pneumotachometry. $F_{m}$ and $F_{s}$ differed in waveform, but the start and end timings of each breaths were clearly synchronized, demonstrating that the respiratory frequency could be accurately estimated before further processing of $F_{m}$. $F_{m}-F_{s}$ loop showed a nonlinear hysteresis within each breath period, thus 6 piecewise linear approximation was performed, leading to a mean relative error of 14 %. This error level was relatively large for clinical application, though customized calibration seemed feasible for monitoring general variation of ventilation. The present technique would be of convenient and practical application as a new wearable respiratory transducer.

CuS 침전의 기포흡착분리에 관한 연구 (Bubble Adsorptive Separation of CuS Precipitates)

  • CTAB에 의한 CuS 침전 미립자의 응집과 기포 흡착특성을 고찰하였다. CTAB의 기포흡착은 Langmuir흡착식을 따르며, 포말간 본체액의 동반을 고려한 회분해석으로부터 구한 흡착열은 3700cal/mol로 나타났다. CTAB에 의한 CuS미립자의 기포흡착은 기포-입자간 충돌흡착으로 설명되었고, 흡착분리에 대한 최적 농도비는 CuS의 최적 응집농도비와 일치하였으며, 그 값은 [CTAB] 대 [CuS]가 0.1로 얻어졌다. 기포에 의한 포집효율은 pH와 CTAB농도 등에 의존하나 공기의 유량에는 무관하였으며, 최대 포집효율은 최적 첨가농도에서 0.0002로 나타났다. 또한 Cu-Cd-Zn 황화물의 혼합계에서 CTAB를 사용한 기포흡착의 경우 ZnS의 선택적 분리가 가능하였다.

차량 내부 탑승자의 쾌적성 평가를 위한 초기 냉방운전 성능에 대한 수치해석적 연구 (Numerical Analysis on the Initial Cool-down Performance Inside an Automobile for the Evaluation of Passenger's Thermal Comfort)

  • Cool-down performance after soaking is important because it affects passenger's thermal comfort. The cooling capacity of HVAC system determines initial cool down performance in most cases, the performance is also affected by location, and shape of panel vent, indoor seat arrangement. Therefore, optimal indoor designs are required in developing a new car. In this paper, initial cool down performance is predicted by CFD(computational fluid dynamics) analysis. Experimental time-averaging temperature data are used as inlet boundary condition. For more reliable analysis, real vehicle model and human FE model are used in grid generation procedure. Thermal and aerodynamic characteristics on re-circulation cool vent mode are investigated using CFX 12.0. Thermal comfort represented by PMV(predicted mean vote) is evaluated using acquired numerical data. Temperature and velocity fields show that flow in passenger's compartment after soaking is considerably unstable at the view point of thermodynamics. Volume-averaged temperature is decreased exponentially during overall cool down process. However, temperature monitored at different 16 spots in CFX-Solver shows local variation in head, chest, knee, foot. The cooling speed at the head and chest nearby panel vent are relatively faster than at the knee and foot. Horizontal temperature contour shows asymmetric distribution because of the location of exhaust vent. By evaluating the passenger's thermal comfort, slowest cooling region is found at the driver's seat.

Determination of Salable Shelf-life for Wrap-packaged Dry-aged Beef during Cold Storage

  • We investigated microbial and quality changes in wrap-packaged dry-aged beef after completion of aging and subsequent storage in a refrigerator. After 28 days of dry aging (temperature, $4^{\circ}C$; RH, approximately 75%; air flow velocity, 2.5 m/s), sirloins were trimmed, wrap-packaged, and stored at $4^{\circ}C$ for 7 days. Analyses of microbial growth, pH, volatile basic nitrogen (VBN), 2-thiobarbituric acid-reactive substance (TABRS), and instrumental color, myoglobin, and sensory evaluation were conducted on days 0, 3, 5, and 7. The results show that the number of total aerobic bacteria (TAB), yeast, and lactic acid bacteria increased with an increase in storage days, whereas no change in the growth of mold was observed during 7 days of storage. Based on the legal standard for TAB count, the estimated shelf-life of wrap-packaged dry-aged beef was predicted to be less than 12.2 days. However, the shelflife should be less than 6.3 days, considering the result of sensory quality (odor, taste, and overall acceptance). No significant change in visible appearance was also observed during 7 days of storage. The results suggest that the present quality indicators for meat spoilage (pH, VBN, and TBARS) should be re-considered for dry-aged beef, as its characteristics are different from those of fresh and/or wet-aged beef.

산소-플라즈마 공정에서 산화제의 생성에 대한 연구 (A Study for Oxidants Generation on Oxygen-plasma Discharging Process Discharging System)

  • This study carried out a laboratory scale plasma reactor about the characteristics of chemically oxidative species (${\cdot}OH$, $H_2O_2$ and $O_3$) produced in dielectric barrier discharge plasma. It was studied the influence of various parameters such as gas type, $1^{st}$ voltage, oxygen flow rate, electric conductivity and pH of solution for the generation of the oxidant. $H_2O_2$ and $O_3$.) $H_2O_2$ and $O_3$ was measured by direct assay using absorption spectrophotometry. OH radical was measured indirectly by measuring the degradation of the RNO (N-Dimethyl-4-nitrosoaniline, indicator of the generation of OH radical). The experimental results showed that the effect of influent gases on RNO degradation was ranked in the following order: oxygen > air >> argon. The optimum $1^{st}$ voltage for RNO degradation were 90 V. As the increased of $1^{st}$ voltage, generated $H_2O_2$ and $O_3$ concentration were increased. The intensity of the UV light emitted from oxygen-plasma discharge was lower than that of the sun light. The generated hydrogen peroxide concentration and ozone concentration was not high. Therefore it is suggested that the main mechanism of oxidation of the oxygen-plasma process is OH radical. The conductivity of the solution did not affected the generation of oxidative species. The higher pH, the lower $H_2O_2$ and $O_3$ generation were observed. However, RNO degradation was not varied with the change of the solution pH.

발전소 수중방류구조 내 수평유공판 설치에 따른 거품발생 저감효과에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Investigation on the Efficiency of Reducing Air Bubble Formation by Installing Horizontal Porous Plate in the Submerged Outlet Structure of Power Plant)

  • 이 연구에서는 보령화력발전소 방수로 수중방류구조에 대한 수리모형실험을 수행하여 수중방류구조 내 흐름 특성을 고찰하고, 수평 유공판 설치에 따른 거품저감 효과를 검토하였다. 수중방류구조 내 단면평균유속은 설계시 거품의 외해 유출 방지를 위해 고려한 목표값 1 m/s 이내에 분포하였다. 또한, 수중방류구조 내 2차 낙하 위치에 수평 유공판을 설치함에 따라 거품의 수중 최대관입깊이가 30~50% 감소함을 확인하였다. 특히, 2차 낙하 위치에 구멍의 크기가 20 cm 정도인 사각구멍형 유공판을 설치하고, 중앙부는 무공 구조로 제작하여 낙하 에너지를 소산시키게 될 경우, 가장 효과적으로 수중에 관입되는 거품 발생량을 저감시킬 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

The Composition of Non-methane Hydrocarbons Determined from a Tunnel of Seoul During Winter 2000

  • Measurements of non-methane hydrocarbons (NMHC) were carried out in the Sangdo tunnel and on a nearby roadway in Seoul during the during the periods of heavy(low speed with ∼20km h(sup)-1) and light(high speed with ∼60kmh(sup)-1) traffic in February 2000. In the tunnel, the total NMHC levels during the heavy traffic period were higher than those during the light traffic period by a factor of 2. This was due to the increase of emissions at the low vehicle speed period and the higher dilution effect derived from faster flow of tunnel air at the high vehicle speed period. The average total NMHC concentration in the tunnel was 1.7 times as high as that on the roadway. The species with the highest concentration in the tunnel was ethylene(50.1 ppb), followed by n-butane(34.1 ppb) and propane (21.9 ppb). The concentration ranking in the tunnel was generally in good agreement with that on the roadway, suggesting that the NMHC compositions in the tunnel and on the nearby roadway were primarily determined by vehicle exhausts. However, the NMHC compositions in the Sangdo tunnel do not agree well with other foreign study results, reflecting that the characteristics of vehicle exhausts of Seoul is different from those of other cities. The most prominent difference between this study and other studies is the high mass fractions of butanes and propane. It was be attributed to the wide use of butane-fueled vehicles.

유한 요소법을 이용한 히트싱크의 성능평가를 위한 열해석 연구 (Thermal Analysis of the Heat Sink Performance using FEM)

  • 최근 전자 및 기계부품 기술의 발전으로 전자 장비는 더욱 고성능화, 소형화, 다기능화 되면서 시스템 내부에 발생하는 발열부의 온도를 제어하기 위해 히트싱크가 사용된다. 본 연구에서는 내부 터널 구조의 2가지 형상의 히트싱크의 열 성능평가를 유한요소 프로그램인 ANSYS를 이용하여 수치해석 하였다. 수치해석은 자연대류 상태에서의 열 성능을 수치해석으로 비교 분석하여 냉각핀 형상에 따른 열 성능을 평가하였다. 또한 시간에 따른 열전달 특성과 온도분표의 해석결과를 기초로 하여 히트싱크의 성능평가를 예측하였다. 수치해석의 결과, 형상 A 히트싱크가 형상 B의 히트싱크보다 열 전달율이 자연대류에서 약 70% 향상되었다.

0.4 MW급 가스분사식 배연탈황 흡수탑의 운전 특성 (Operating Characteristics of 0.4 MW-Scale Gas Dispersion Type FGD Absorber)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the effect of operating and design conditions of gas dispersion type of absorber on $SO_2$ removal efficiency. pH difference between upper and lower part of gas dispersing plate of absorber was 0.2, which was relatively low. This was supposed that recirculation capacity of absorbing liquid between froth zone and reaction zone of absorber be increased by oxidation air injection through liquid riser which acted as liquid pump. Test results showed that $SO_2$ removal efficiency was more sensitive than absorber ${\Delta}P$. High $SO_2$ removal even at lower pH resulted from very low concentration of $HSO_3^-$ ion in absorbing liquid because of direct supply of dissolved oxygen into froth zone. 96% of $SO_2$ removal efficiency was obtained under the condition of absorber pH 5.2, flue gas flow rate of $1,530\;Nm^3/hr$, inlet $SO_2$ concentration of 800 ppm, absorber ${\Delta}P$ of 250mmAq.
