지역 순환풍 발생 특성 이해를 통한 국내 주요항만 발생 대기오염물질의 항구도시 영향 범위 분석 -여름철 해륙풍 모사를 중심으로- (Dispersion of Maritime Air Pollutants from Harbor Area into Major Port Cities Considering Characteristics of Local Wind Circulation in Korea -A Case Study of Sea and Land Breezes during Summer-)

  • 본 연구에서는 국내 서로 다른 지리적 특성을 갖는 지역에서 발생되는 해륙풍에 의한 항만 내 선박 대기오염물질의 항구도시 확산 범위를 규명하고자 하였다. 연구 대상 지역은 서해안(인천항 및 평택·당진항), 다도해 지역(목포항), 남해 및 동해(부산항 및 마산항), 동해 산간 지역(동해·묵호항)으로 선정하였다. 해륙풍 발생과 그로 인한 항만 내 선박에서 기인하는 대기오염물질의 확산 모사를 위하여 비선형(Non-linear) 및 비정상(Unsteady) 거동의 국지 순환풍 모사가 가능한 HOTMAC-RAPTAD 프로그램을 활용하였으며, 모사 기간은 전형적인 여름 날씨인 7월 중순으로 하였다. 그 결과, 해륙풍의 발생 특성과 항만에서 발생되는 대기오염물질의 주변 지역 확산 거동이 지역마다 서로 다르게 나타났는데 연구 대상 항만인 인천항, 목포항, 부산항, 동해·묵호항에서 배출되는 대기오염물질은 항구로부터 각각 27~31km(서울 서쪽 일부 지역), 21~24km(무안 남부), 20~26km(김해 및 양산 인근), 22~25km(태백산맥 능선 지역)까지 영향을 끼치는 것으로 분석되었다. 따라서 본 연구에서 도출된 결과는 향후 효과적인 항만 지역 대기질과 선박 대기오염물질 관리에 있어 매우 중요한 기초 수단으로 활용 가능할 것으로 기대된다.

동해안의 복잡지형에서 기상장 개선에 따른 CALPUFF 모델의 평가 (Evaluation of the CALPUFF Model Using Improved Meteorological Fields in Complex Terrain of East Sea Coast)

  • Donghae city is one of the most representative cement industrial city in Korea. The area is faced with the East Sea to the East and with high montane region of Tae-Back mountain range to the West. Many pollutant sources of air pollution are located near the coast, but the largest point sources of the region are located at the bottom of the mountain area in Donghae city. The local wind is highly affected by local topography and plays an important role in transport and dispersion of contaminants from the pollution sources. This study was designed to evaluate enhancement of MM5 predictions by using Four Dimensional Data Assimilation (FDDA), the SONDE data and the national meteorological station, data only. The alternative meteorological fields predicted with and without FDDA were used to simulate spatial and temporal variations of NOx in combined with Atmospheric Dispersion Models (CALPUFF). For the modeling domain, the alternative meteorological fields with 1.1 km spatial resolution were interpolated to the CALMET with 0.5 km resolution. The vertical layers set to have 35 and 12 layers for MM5 and CALPUFF, respectively. MM5 with the FDDA did not resulted in significant improvement of meteorological field prediction in Donghae region, which is primarily because of complex geography and wind scheme. The result of CALPUFF, however, showed reduction of uncertainty errors by using the interpolation scheme of the actual measurement data.

도로이동오염원 배출량 산정을 위한 Bottom-Up Approach 기법의 개선에 관한 연구 (An Improvement of Bottom Up Approach for Estimating the Mobile Emission Level)

  • 교통 환경문제로 대표되는 차량의 배기가스에 의한 대기오염은 삶의 질과 국민보건에 대한 관심뿐 아니라 범세계적인 문제로 인식되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 교통수요모형과 GIS를 이용하여 도로이동오염원에 대한 시공간적 고해상도의 배출량 산정 방식을 제시하여 정부와 지자체가 효과적으로 대기 질 개선 정책을 수립 추진할 수 있는 기반을 마련하고자 하였다. 이에 차량의 통행특성을 반영하는 Bottom-Up Approach 기법을 기반으로 총 주행거리를 실측치로 보정한 교통모형과 차량의 특성에 적합한 배출계수를 적용할 수 있는 대기모형을 이용한 개선된 기법을 제시하였다. 즉, 새로운 대안으로 교통-대기 통합패러다임에 의해 이를 연계한 도로이동오염원의 배출량 산정기법을 제시함으로써, 도로이동오염원 배출량의 신뢰도 개선이 기대되어진다.

BIM 기반 에너지성능분석을 통한 공동주택의 주동 설계 전략개발 - 주동타입 및 층수 변화를 중심으로 - (Multi-Family Housing Block Design Strategy Development by BIM-based Energy Performance Analysis - focusing on the Block Types and the Variations in Stories -)

  • Korea has achieved a rapid economic development and with the increase in population and national income and the expansion of social and economic activities, energy consumption has rapidly increased too. Energy consumption per head has constantly increased and currently, power consumption per head is 7.5 times bigger than in 1985. Buildings occupy 25% of total energy consumption and especially, 50% of total energy is consumed for heating and cooling. In this situation, multi-family housing, which has constantly been increased, has an energy saving rate of 1.9%, which is the lowest level and this makes the government's energy policy for sustainable energy system development useless. Besides, energy consumption leads to secondary problems, such as air, water and marine pollution and heat pollution and wastewater/drainage and the increased use of fossil fuel is a fundamental reason for ozone layer destruction and global warming. Therefore, efficient energy consumption plans are required. This study aims to analyze energy performance in each block type of high-rise and diversified multi-family housing that accounts for 60% of all the housing forms, depending on the variations in stories through BIM-based energy simulation. For this study, four representative block types were selected, based on the multi-family floor plan, which is certified for energy performance evaluation and they were applied to the floor plan of a multi-family house that is scheduled to be built. Then BIM modeling was conducted from the fifth story to the 40th story at an intervals of 5 stories and based on the finding, energy characteristics of each block type and energy performance depending on the variations in stories were analyzed. It is considered that this would serve as objective data for block type and block story decision of energy performance-based multi-family housing.

오염농도의 공간적 분포를 고려한 도시림의 대기정화기능 계량화 (A Quantitative Analysis of Air Purification Effectiveness on Urban Forest Considering the Spatial Distribution of Pollutant Concentration)

  • 본 연구는 도시의 대기환경과 관련하여 도시림의 정화 기능을 평가해보고 개선방안에 대해 고찰해 보는 것이 목적이다. 대기오염은 도시화가 특히 심화되어 있는 지역일수록 심각하기 때문에 우리나라의 대도시 중 하나인 대구광역시를 대상으로 도시림의 대기정화기능을 추정하였다. 오염물질의 흡수량을 산정함에 있어 기존에는 고려되지 못했던 오염농도의 공간적 차이를 적용하였으며, 크리깅을 통해 대기확산모델링 자료의 해상도를 향상시켰다. 도시림의 유형 및 분포를 파악해 본 결과, 대상지역 도시림 내의 식생군락은 총 26개 유형이었으며, 소나무군락, 소나무-신갈군락, 소나무-상수리군락 등 다양한 수종이 분포하고 있었다. 도시림의 대기정화기능을 알아보고자 $CO_2$의 흡수량을 파악해 본 결과, 연간 흡수량은 총 108,155t/yr인 것으로 분석되었다. 도시림의 대기오염물질 흡수량의 경우 $SO_2$ 흡수량은 총 183.5t/yr이었으며, $NO_2$ 흡수량은 총 410.2t/yr인 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구를 통해 오염농도에 대한 공간적 분포를 고려하지 않아 확인이 불가능했던 농도에 따른 흡수량의 차이를 확인해 볼 수 있었다.

Meteorological Mechanisms Associated with Long-range Transport of Asian Dust Observed at the West Coast of North America in April 2001

  • Meteorological mechanisms in association with long-range transport of Asian dust in April 2001 have been investigated using weather maps, satellite images, TOMS and surface $PM_{10}$ data, backward trajectories, plus modeling output results (geopotential heights, horizontal wind vectors, potential temperatures, and streamlines). The results indicated that long -range transport of Asian dust to the west coast of North America was associated with strong westerlies between the Aleutian low and the Pacific high acting as a conveyor belt. Accelerating westerly flows due to cyclogenesis at the source regions over East Asia transported pollution from the continent to the central Pacific. When the system reached the Aleutian Islands, the intensity of troughs and the westerlies were amplified in the North Pacific. Thereafter the winds between the Aleutian Islands and the Pacific Ocean were more intensified from the air flow transport of the conveyor belt. Consequently, the strong wind in the conveyor belt enhanced the dust transport from the Pacific Ocean to the west coast of North America. This was evidenced by $PM_{10}$ concentration (maximum of about $100{\mu}g\;m^{-3}$) observed In California. Further evidence of the dust transport was found through the observation of satellite images, the distribution of TOMS aerosol index, and the analyses of streamlines and backward trajectories.

Modeling Study on Dispersion and Scavenging of Traffic Pollutants at the Location Near a Busy Road

  • The information about the dispersion and scavenging of traffic-related pollutants at the locations near busy expressways is very helpful to highway planners for developing better plans to reduce exposures to air pollution for people living as well as children attending schools and child care centers near roadways. The objective of the current study was to give information in the dispersion and scavenging of vehicle-derived pollutants at the region near a busy urban expressway by a combination of two different model calculations. The modified Gaussian dispersion model and the Lagrange type below-cloud scavenging model were applied to evaluate $NO_x$ dispersion and DEP (Diesel exhaust particles) wet removal, respectively. The highest $NO_x$ was marked 53.17 ppb within 20-30 meters from the target urban expressway during the heaviest traffic hours (08:00AM-09:00AM) and it was 2.8 times higher than that of really measured at a nearby ambient measuring station. The calculated DEP concentration in size-resolved raindrops showed a continuous decreasing with increasing raindrop size. Especially, a noticeable decrease was found between 0.2 mm and 1.0 mm raindrop diameter.

딤플 사각 튜브형 배기 가스 재순환 시스템의 열 및 진동 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Thermal and Modal Characteristics for EGR System with Dimpled Rectangular Tube)

  • Recently, Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system which re-flow a cooled exhaust gas from vehicles burning diesel as fuel to a combustion chamber of engine has been used to solve the serious air pollution. For the design and mass production of EGR system, it is essential to ensure structural integrity evaluation. The EGR system consisted of ten dimpled oval core rectangular tubes, two fix-plates, two coolant pipes, shell body and two flanges in this study. To confirm the safety of the designed system, finite element modeling about each component such as the dimpled oval core tube with the dimpled shape and others was carried out. The reliability of EGR system against exhaust gas flow with high temperature was investigated by flow and pressure analysis in the system. Also, thermal and strength analysis were verified the safety of EGR system against temperature change in the shell and tubes. Furthermore, modal analysis using ANSYS was also performed. From the results of FE analysis, there were confirmed that EGR system was safe against the flow of exhaust gas, temperature change in EGR system and vibration on operation condition, respectively.

  • Recently, global warming and environmental pollution are becoming more important, and fuel economy is becoming important. Each automobile company is actively developing various new technologies to increase fuel efficiency. CVVD(Continuously Variable Valve Duration) system means a device that continuously changes the rotational speed of the camshaft to change the valve duration according to the state of the engine. In this paper, VVT(Variable Valve Timing) and CVVD were applied to a single-cylinder diesel engine, and the characteristics of intake and exhaust flow rate and in-cylinder pressure characteristics were analyzed by numerical analysis. In order to analyze the effect of CVVD on the actual engine operation, the study was performed by setting the valve control and injection pressure as variables in two sections of the engine operating region. As a result, In the case of applying CVVD, the positive overlap with the exhaust valve is maintained, thus it is possible to secure the flow smoothness of air and increase the volumetric efficiency by improving the flow rate. The section 2 condition showed the highest peak pressure, but the pressure rise rate was similar to that of the VVT 20 and CVCD 20 conditions up to 40 bar due to the occurrence of ignition delay.

PMF 모델을 이용한 경산지역 PM2.5의 오염원 기여도 추정 (Source Apportionment of PM2.5 in Gyeongsan Using the PMF Model)

  • The objective of this study was to quantitatively estimate $PM_{2.5}$ source contribution in Gyeongsan. Ambient $PM_{2.5}$ samples have been collected on zefluor, quartz and nylasorb filter by $PM_{2.5}$ samplers of cyclone method from September 2010 to December 2012. Collected samples were analyzed for determining 17 inorganic elements, 8 ions, and 8 carbon components after pretreatment. Based on these chemical information, the PMF model was applied to estimate the quantitative contribution of air pollution sources. The results of the PMF modeling showed that the sources were apportioned by biomass burning source (15.5%), secondary sulfate source (16.0%), industry source (10.4%), soil source (7.0%), gasoline source (9.1%), incinerator source (10.4%), diesel emission source (11.0%), and secondary nitrate source (20.6%), respectively. To analyze local source impacts from various wind directions, the CPF analysis were performed using source contribution results with the wind direction values measured at the site.
