In this paper, we propose a ubiquitous Farming Diary System which can support the easy and reliable recording of a farming diary for the certificate on environment-friendly agricultural products by using the USN(Ubiquitous Sensor Network) technologies. By using growth-related data, the system can also control farming facilities remotely and automatically. To achieve this goal, the UFDS(Ubiquitous Farming Diary System) is consisted with 3 layers. The first 'physical layer' can collect data from sensors, cameras and facilities then controls the growth environment based on the analyzed information. The second 'Middle layer' can process and store the data from 'physical layer' to sensor manager, image manager, control manager and diary manager separately. The third 'application layer' can provide growth-related services to users through various applications. The UFDS can recording grow history information automatically and Easily. Besides, the system can make an accurate and reliable farming diary with multimedia information such as motion and sound. Furthermore, environmental information such as temperature, humidity, luminance and soil conditions (soil temperature, soil humidity, soil EC) can be monitored in real-time and the facilities managed in remote sites.

Smart farms are receiving a lot of attention as a way to solve the chronic labor shortage and aging problems in agriculture. The smart farm industry, called the 6th industrial revolution, needs to strengthen its competitiveness. In order to apply innovative IT technology to agriculture, it is important to collect and analyze information about prior research or patents. This paper examines smart farm patent trends through 5,789 patent data related to smart farm using the domestic patent information search service(KIPRIS). This paper examines the domestic patent trends of smart farm information through keyword network, ego network, simultaneous appearance network, and bigram network analysis. As a result of network analysis related to smart farm patents, patents related to smart farm systems and control technologies were the most common. This paper can provide help in setting the direction of future smart farm-related patent research.
This paper focussed to find out the consumer appraisement and purchase consciousness on organically grown products since public pay more and more attention on organic food and market for organic products has been grown very rapidly. It is intended to deliver the necessary information at first time in Korea to the policy maker for environmentally sound agriculture, establishment for marketing strategy and consumer movement related with it. 66.2% of investigated consumer ever purchased the organic products, and they are inhabitant in apartment complex, belongs to high income group and eldly people, and used to buy frequently at 45.8%. For the reason why they choose the organic products ; 84.7% for health and safe, 48.6% for taste. But the reason why they not choose the organic products ; 56.7% for unconvenient to shop an organic food, 51.4% for expensiveness. On the purchasing the consumer mainly rely upon the certification label(67%), the marketing place(29.6%) and information and recommendation of shopkeeper(23.6%). Korean consumers intend to buy an organic products if variable products and crops are offered in the market and offered at reduced price. The group purchased intensively the organic goods appraise for an organic products positively, and group who do not express any careless intend never to purchase an organically grown products because of its high price. Consumer indicated the support policy and action program by government(69.2%), research & development on organic agriculture and its extension activity(48.8%) are necessary to stimulate an organic agriculture in Korea.
Objective: Autophagy is a bulk degradation system for intracellular proteins which contributes to skeletal muscle homeostasis, according to previous studies in humans and rodents. However, there is a lack of information on the physiological role of autophagy in the skeletal muscle of meat animals. This study was planned as a pilot study to investigate changes in expression of two major autophagy-related genes, microtubule-associated protein 1 light chain $3{\beta}$ (MAP1LC3B) and autophagy related 7 (ATG7) in fattening beef cattle, and to compare them with skeletal muscle growth. Methods: Six castrated Japanese Black cattle (initial body weight: $503{\pm}20kg$) were enrolled in this study and fattened for 7 months. Three skeletal muscles, M. longissimus, M. gluteus medius, and M. semimembranosus, were collected by needle biopsy three times during the observation period, and mRNA levels of MAP1LC3B and ATG7 were determined by quantitative reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction. The expression levels of genes associated with the ubiquitin-proteasome system, another proteolytic mechanism, were also analyzed for comparison with autophagy-related genes. In addition, ultrasonic scanning was repeatedly performed to measure M. longissimus area as an index of muscle growth. Results: Our results showed that both MAP1LC3B and ATG7 expression increased over the observation period in all three skeletal muscles. Interestingly, the increase in expression of these two genes in M. longissimus was highly correlated with ultrasonic M. longissimus area and body weight. On the other hand, the expression of genes associated with the ubiquitin-proteasome system was unchanged during the same period. Conclusion: These findings suggest that autophagy plays an important role in the growth of skeletal muscle of fattening beef cattle and imply that autophagic activity affects meat productivity.

The purpose of this study is to segment the social awareness on the function of public benefit of agriculture and rural areas by socio-economic and action/attitude characteristics, and to identify the influential variables in social awareness. The nationwide survey of 1,200 adults aged over 20 was conducted, and the data was analyzed by PASW statistics 17.0. One of the awareness variables was the degree of the consent to the preservation of the public beneficial function. This variable was segmented by the interest on related information, the criteria of buying agricultural products, occupation and age. And the other awareness variable was the willingness to pay for the preservation of the public beneficial function. This variable was segmented by the education, occupation, income and the experience of living in rural areas. According to the results, some suggestions for improving the social awareness on the public beneficial function of agriculture and rural areas were discussed.
Objective: The aim of this paper is to introduce ergonomic evaluation methods for agricultural work. Background: Work-related Musculoskeletal Disorders(WMSDs) became a major problem in agriculture industry recently. A number of ergonomics evaluation methods have been developed in order to evaluate the work load for preventing WMSDs. The workload evaluation methods were developed for manufacturing industry. Therefore, these ergonomic evaluation methods were used carefully in agriculture industry because work type in agriculture different from work type in manufacturing. Method: Various references of ergonomic evaluation methods such as OWAS, REBA, RULA, NLE and Snook table have been reviewed for agricultural work. Results: This paper presents the characteristics, the selection and application procedure of ergonomic evaluation methods for agricultural work. Application: These results can be used to provide baseline information for ergonomic evaluation methods.
As the number of fields adopting ICT (Information and Communication Technology) increased, it was necessary to diagnose the information service status of corporations and present improvement plans in agriculture. Therefore, we designed and conducted various surveys to understand the information service status of domestic agricultural company corporations. The research included ways to utilize information technology, establishing infrastructure related to information technology, current status of information technology application and impact on performance. Specifically, the main purpose of this study was to subdivide related corporations by industry and sales level and provide differentiated management implications for each sector. This is because the type of information service and information technology support that each corporation needs varies greatly depending on the industry and sales level. We provide customized management and policy proposals based on descriptive statistics and regression techniques.

Smart Farm, which combines information and communication technologies with agriculture is moving from simple monitoring of the growth environment toward discovering the optimal environment for crop growth and in the form of self-regulating agriculture. To this end, it is important to collect related data, but it is more important for farmers with cultivation know-how to analyze the collected data from various perspectives and derive useful information for regulating the crop growth environment. In this study, we developed a web service that allows farmers who want to obtain necessary information with data related to crop growth to easily analyze data. Web-based data analysis serivice developed uses R language for data analysis and Express web application framework for Node.js. As a result of applying the developed data analysis service together with the growth environment monitoring system in operation, we could perform data analysis what we want just by uploading a CSV file or by entering raw data directly. We confirmed that a service provider could provid various data analysis services easily and could add a new data analysis service by newly adding R script.

The purpose of this study is to develop a system configuration for gathering data and building a database for agriculture. Some foreign agriculture-related companies have already constructed such a database for scientific agriculture. The hardware of this system is composed of automatic capturing equipment based on aerial photography using a UAV. The software is composed of parts for stitching images, matching GPS data with captured images, and building a database of collected weather information, farm operation data, and aerial images. We suggest a method for building the database, which can include information about the amount of agricultural products, weather, farm operation, and agricultural land images. The images of this system are about 5 times better than satellite images. Factors such as farm working and environmental factors can be basic data for analyzing the full impact of agriculture land. This system is expected to contribute to the scientific analysis of Korea's agriculture.
Because of high growth rate and large deposition of fat in the abdomen, the chicken has been used as a model organism for understanding lipid metabolism, fattening and growing. In this study, differentially expression of proteins in chicken liver, one of the important organs for lipid metabolism, has been investigated at four different growing stages. After separation of proteins using two-dimensional electrophoresis (2-DE), more than 700 protein spots were detected. Among them, 13 growing stage specific proteins in chicken liver were selected and further investigated by matrix-assisted laser adsorptions ionization-time of flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS). Of these, 12 proteins were matched to existing proteins based on a database search. The identified fat-related proteins in this study were fatty acid synthase (FASN) and malic enzyme (ME1). These proteins were more highly expressed at week 32 than at other weeks. In order to confirm the differential expression, one of the proteins, FASN, was confirmed by western blotting. The identified proteins will give valuable information on biochemical roles in chicken liver, especially for lipid metabolism.
