Due to climate change, interest in crop production and distribution is increasing, and attempts are being made to use bigdata and AI to predict production volume and control shipments and distribution stages. Prediction of agricultural product imports not only affects prices, but also controls shipments of farms and distributions of distribution companies, so it is important information for establishing marketing strategies. In this paper, we create an artificial intelligence prediction model that predicts the future import volume based on the wholesale market melon import volume data disclosed by the agricultural statistics information system and evaluate its accuracy. We create prediction models using three models: the Neural Prophet technique, the Ensembled Neural Prophet model, and the GRU model. As a result of evaluating the performance of the model by comparing two major indicators, MAE and RMSE, the Ensembled Neural Prophet model predicted the most accurately, and the GRU model also showed similar performance to the ensemble model. The model developed in this study is published on the web and used in the field for 1 year and 6 months, and is used to predict melon production in the near future and to establish marketing and distribution strategies.
In 2012, a pink mold rot was observed on apple (Malus pumila var. dulcissima Koidz.) at the Wholesale Market for Agricultural Products, Jinju, Korea. The first symptom of pink mold rot on apple fruit is a water-soaked appearance of the affected tissue and surface fruit formed pink mold rot, then became brown and produced a mass of powdery pink conidia spores. Colony was fast growing colonies, pinksh, zonate in diurnal rhythm, powdery from conidia. Optimum temperature for mycelial growth was $25^{\circ}C$. Conidia were hyaline, smooth, two-celled, thick-walled conidia with truncate bases, ellipsoidal to pyriform, and characteristically held together zig-zag chains and $12-26{\times}8-12{\mu}m$ in size. Conidiophore was erect, colorless, unbranched, and $4-5{\mu}m$ wide. On the basis of mycological characteristics, pathogenicity test, and molecular identification with the ITS region, the causal fungus was identified as Trichothecium roseum (Pers.) Link ex Gray.

Mushroom production in Korea is concentrated on five major mushroom types. To create a new source of income for farmers, it is necessary to establish new mushroom production and marketing systems. This study was conducted to evaluate the marketability of and establish a marketing strategy for Pleurotus nebrodensis variety 'Uram'. The evaluation of distributors showed that it was necessary to cultivate mushrooms of uniform shape and size, to compensate for their low storability, and to sell them in small packages. The consumer evaluation showed that the texture of P. nebrodensis had the highest level of satisfaction for quality, but the levels of satisfaction for size and shape were low. In the consumer evaluation, as in the distributor evaluation, improvements in cultivation were found to be necessary, as the storage time is short due to a high moisture content. An evaluation of the market gave the following results regarding the marketing strategy. It was found to be necessary to consider the production of mushrooms of a uniform shape and size and sell them in small packages in the range of 150 to 300 g. The price of the mushrooms should be set using a high-end strategy for high-end sales. The mushrooms should be introduced to local food and eco-friendly stores in the early stages of production. Subsequently, if farmhouse production increases, shipments should be made to wholesale markets through a regular contract. Finally, considering that P. nebrodensis is an unfamiliar mushroom to consumers, it is necessary to promote it by increasing the accessibility of consumers through tasting events and experience groups.
Improving quality is a very important component of maintaining competitiveness of agricultural products. However, evaluation of 'high quality' indicates it is a very abstract concept and independent of some quality attributes, leading to differences in the perception of quality. Thus, there is a pressing need to objectively define 'high quality' and to develop basic technologies for its measurement, for application in the production, storage and distribution of competitive agricultural products. To objectively quantify apple quality, a survey was conducted on consumer preferences and awareness of quality attributes including color, taste, flavor and shape. The survey questionnaire targeted male and female adults (463 persons) ranging in age from 20 to 59 years. The questionnaire was based on purchases made at a wholesale market (50.1%) or a traditional market (18.8%). The majority of purchases were as small packets (62.0%) or as individual pieces (20.5%). Apples of moderate size (fist size, 60.5%) were preferred over small (4.3%) or large (32.6%) apples. The questionnaire provided consumer data on external quality attributes including color, shape and variety. Taste attributes were evaluated in relation to the balance between sour and sweet taste, and flavors peculiar to apples.
Soft rot disease on Raspberry (Rubus crataegifolius Bunge) was observed in sale boxes at Jinju City Wholesale Market of Agricultural Products in June 2010. The infected fruits were rapidly water-soaked, softened, black and eventually rotted. The colonies on the infected fruits were white to light brown, formed numerous sporangiospores. Optimum temperature for the mycelial growth of the causal fungus on PDA was $30^{\circ}C$ and growth was still apparent at $37^{\circ}C$. Sporangia were globose, white at early and gradually to black, and 40-210 ${\mu}m$ in diameter. Sporangiophores were white to mid brown as maturation and 8-20 ${\mu}m$ in diameter. Columella were globose to sub-globose, and the size of the diameter was 85-120 ${\mu}m$ in diameter. Sporangiospores were sub-globose, rhomboidal and irregular, streaked and 5-10 ${\mu}m$ in length. On the basis of symptom, mycological characteristics, ITS rDNA sequence analysis, and pathogenicity of the fungus, the causal fungus was clearly identified as Rhizopus oryzae Went & Prinsen Geerligs. This is the first report of soft rot by R. oryzae on R. crataegifolius in Korea.
In 2012, a pink mold rot was observed on unishiu orange (Citrus unshiu Mac.) fruits at the Wholesale Market for Agricultural Products, Jinju, Korea. The symptom on unishiu orange was a water-soaked lesion on the surface of fruit, which later on enlarged to form softened brown rot lesions. The diseased fruits were covered with pink-colored mold, consisting of conidia and conidiophores of the pathogen. Optimum temperature for mycelial growth was $25^{\circ}C$. Conidia were hyaline, smooth, 2-celled, and thick-walled conidia with truncate bases, ellipsoidal to pyriform, characteristically held together zig-zag chains and $12-26{\times}8-12{\mu}m$ in size. Conidiophore was erect, colorless, unbranched, and 4-5 ${\mu}m$ wide. On the basis of mycological characteristics, pathogenicity test, and molecular analysis with complete ITS rDNA region, the causal fungus was identified as Trichothecium roseum (Pers.) Link ex Gray. This is the first report of pink mold rot caused by T. roseum on unishiu orange in Korea.
In July and August 2011, a disease suspected to be Rhizopus soft rot was observed on peach (Prunus persica var. vulgaris) at the Wholesale Market for Agricultural Products, Jinju, Korea. The first symptom of soft rot on peach is a water-soaked appearance of the affected tissue. The infected parts later disintegrated into a mushy mass of disorganized cells followed by rapid softening of the diseased tissue. The lesion on peach was rapidly softened and rotted, then became brown or dark brown. Optimum temperature for mycelial growth of the causal fungus on PDA was $30^{\circ}C$and growth was still apparent at $37^{\circ}C$Sporangiophores were 6~20 ${\mu}m$ in diameter. Sporangia were globose and 35~200 ${\mu}m$ in size. The color of sporangia was brownish-grey to blackish-grey at maturity. Sporangiospores were sub-globose, brownish- black streaked and 5~10 ${\mu}m$ in size. Columella were globose to sub-globose and 85~120 ${\mu}m$ in size. On the basis of mycological characteristics, pathogenicity test, and molecular identification, the causal fungus was identified as Rhizopus oryzae Went & Prinsen Geerligs. To our knowledge, this is the first report of soft rot caused by R. oryzae on peach in Korea.
A rhizopus soft rot caused by Rhizopus stolonifer occurred sporadically on grape in orchard in Gyeongsang-nam-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services and in Wholesale Market of Agricultural Products in Jinju city. The infected fruits were rapidly water-soaked, softened and eventually rotted, and the symptoms were initiated from wounds or cracks occurred at harvest time. Sporangiophores were $850{\sim}1,800{\mu}m$ in length and $12{\sim}23{\mu}m$ in width. Sporangia were globose or hemispheric and $80{\sim}190{\mu}m$ in size. The color of sporangia was white and cottony at first and gradually to brownish black, bearing abundant spores when it matured. Columella were hemispheric and $70{\sim}95{\mu}m$ in size. Sporangiospores were irregular round or oval, brownish-black streaked and $8{\sim}22{\times}6{\sim}10{\mu}m$ in size. The optimum temperature for mycelial growth of the fungus on PDA was 25$^{\circ}C$. On the basis of mycological characteristics and pathogenicity to grape (Vitis vinifera), the causal fungus was identified as Rhizopus stolonifer (Ehrenberg ex. Fr,) Lind. This is the first report of Rhizopus soft rot by R. stolonifer on grape (V. vinifera) in Korea.
Rhizopus soft rot caused by Rhizopus stolonifer occurred on strawberry (Fragaria ${\times}$ ananassa) in the plastic boxes in Jinju City Wholesale Market of Agricultural Products at Gyeongnam province in Korea on April 2008. The infected fruits were rapidly softened, water soaked and finally rotted. The symptoms were mainly occurred through wounds at harvest time. The colony color was white, cottony to brownish black after fully matured and numerous sporangiospores were formed on sporangia. The optimum growth temperature of the fungus was $30^{\circ}C$ on potato dextrose agar. Sporangia were globose or hemispheric shape of white color at initial stage and gradually changed with black color of $82{\sim}195{\mu}m$ in size. Sporangiophores were $12{\sim}25{\mu}m$ in width. Columella were hemispheric in shape, and $70{\sim}92{\mu}m$ in size. Sporangiospores were irregular round or oval in shape, brownish-black in color and $9{\sim}21\;{\times}\;7{\sim}8{\mu}m$ in size. This fungus formed stolones and rhizoid on PDA. On the basis of symptom, mycological characteristics and pathogenicity of the fungus, the causal fungus was identified as Rhizopus stolonifer (Ehrenb.) Vuill.
Through processors, wholesale markets, intermediate sellers, and retailers, agricultural products have been distributed in a multi-level customary manner for a long time as they are easy to deteriorate and no not have a standardized system of size and quality. However, with the advancement of Internet networks and logistic services during the 2000s that facilitated the development of offline markets, and the rise of the non-contact purchase preference in direct response to COVID-19, previous offline consumers flowed into the online market to purchase agricultural goods. In other words, the volume of online agricultural transactions exploded since the pandemic. Against this social backdrop, this study focused on the difference in distribution costs as a result of converting from conventional offline distribution channels to online channels, and analyzed the reduced distribution costs through a case study of garlic sales on the online platform "H" shopping mall. The analysis found that considerable economic effects occurred, some of the effects being an approximate 39% decrease in distribution cost when comparing direct online transactions of the online shopping mall with other more traditional means, a reduced distribution cost rate of approximately 28%p, and increased profit for farmers.
