전기용량형 센서를 이용한 변압기 절연유 열화진단용 예방진단기법 개발 (Development of Preventive Diagnosis Techniques for Transformer Oil by Capacitive Sensor)

  • Within serviced period of time in transformer, thermal stress is the most influential parameter affecting the aging behavior of an insulation system. The thermal stress on the insulation system may occur from operation in a high temperature environment due to Joule's heat at winding coils. This paper describes a development of capacitive sensor and preventive diagnosis techniques for electrical insulating oil, widely used for power and distribution transformer. To survey the dielectric properties of the virgin and used mineral insulating oil, we utilized the highly precise measuring system of KRISS. And the results were used to determine the design factors of the sensor. To evaluate diagnosis by the sensor, we performed accelerated aging test about insulating oils. The condition of aged specimens were investigated by measurements of relative permittivity i.e. capacitance change by capacitive sensor.

  • In a transformer, thermal stress is the most influential parameter affecting the aging behavior of insulation system. The aging behavior of insulation system in transformer is determined mainly by the thermal conditions inside the transformer. The thermal stress on the insulation system may occur from operation in a high temperature caused by overloading or local overheating. Thus, this paper investigated the condition monitoring of insulation condition in thermally accelerated aged transformer oils by in-situ sensor. The condition of aged samples was investigated by measurements of relative permittivity i.e. capacitance change by capacitive sensor. Results from the experiments are presented in this paper.

초음파에 의한 단백질 gel화의 연구 (Ultrasonic Velocity and Absorption Mesurements in Gel of Proteins)

  • Egg white의 gel화에 따른 음속과 흡수의 변화가 60와 75$^{\circ}C$에서 크게 나타난 것이 egg white의 어느 단백질 성분에 의한 것인가를 조사하기 위해 egg white의 주요한 단백질 성분인 obalbumin, conalbumin, ovomucoid protein에 대해 gel화에 따른 음속 및 흡수의 변화를 온도 10-95$^{\circ}C$의 범위에서 초음파pulse법을 사용하여 측정하였다. Ovalbumin는 7$0^{\circ}C$, conalbumin는 5$0^{\circ}C$에서 gel화가 시작되었고 ovomucoid는 측정온도범위내에서는 gel화가 진행되지 않았다. Gel화하는 이상의 온도에서 음속과 흡수에 대하여 aging측정을 행하여 gel화에 의한 dam속과 흡수의 변화를 관측하였다. 그 결과 conalbumin는 5$0^{\circ}C$, ovalbumin는 75$^{\circ}C$에서 음속과 흡수의변화가 많이 일어났다. Egg white의 60와 75$^{\circ}C$의 gel화에 의한 음속과 흡수의 큰 변화는 각각 conalbumin과 ovalbumin에 의한 것임을 알았고 Conalbumin과 ovalbumin는 aging 온도를 parameter로하여 이력현상이 관측되었다.

Layered model of aging concrete. General concept and one-dimensional applications

  • A novel approach to modeling concrete behavior at the stage of its maturing is presented in this paper. This approach assumes that at any point in the structure, concrete is composed of a set of layers that are activated in time layer by layer, based on amount of released heat that is produced during process of the concrete's maturing. This allows one to assume that each newly created layer has nominal stiffness moduli and tensile/compressive strengths. Hence introduction of explicit stiffness moduli and tensile/compressive strength dependencies on time, or equivalent time state parameter, is not needed. Analysis of plain concrete (PC) and reinforced concrete (RC) structures, especially massive ones, subjected to any kind of straining in their early stage of existence, mostly due to external loads but especially by thermal loading and shrinkage, is the goal of the approach. In this article a simple elasto-plastic softening model with creep is used for each layer and a general layered model behavior is illustrated on one-dimensional (1D) examples.

Probabilistic estimates of corrosion rate of fuel tank structures of aging bulk carriers

  • This paper considers corrosion wastage of two ship hull structure members as a part of investigated fuel oil tanks of 25 aging bulk carriers. Taking into account that many factors which influence corrosion wastage of ship hull structures are of uncertain nature, the related corrosion rate ($c_1$) is considered here as a real-valued continuous distribution, assuming that the corrosion wastage starts after 5, 6 or 7 years. In all considered cases, by using available data and applying three basic statistical tests, it is established that between two-parameter continuous distributions, normal, Weibull and logistic distributions are best fitted distributions for the mentioned corrosion rate ($c_1$). Note that the presented statistical, numerical and graphical results concerning two mentioned ship hull structure members allow to compare and discuss the corresponding probabilistic estimates for the corrosion rate ($c_1$).

초음파 파라미터와 파괴인성치의 상관관계에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Correlations Between Ultrasonic Parameters and Fracture Toughness)

  • In this study the four classes of the thermally aged 1Cr-1Mo-0.25V specimens were prepared using an artificially accelerated aging method. Ultrasonic tests were performed to get the correlation with fracture toughness. The modified theoretical Vary's equation, considering nonlinear response due to material degradation, was proposed for the correlations between ultrasonic parameters and fracture toughness. Experimental results indicate that ultrasonic attenuation coefficient, velocity and nonlinear parameters produce the correlations with fracture toughness and yield strength.

용접 계면균열의 크리프 균열성장 거동에 관한 연구 (A Study on Creep Crack Growth Behavior of Weld Interface Crack)

  • Cracking problems which high temperature plant components suffer during long-term service, occur very often at welded locations. The crack occurs due to accumulated creep damage near fusion line or at heat affected zone (HAZ). However, most of the studies on creep crack growth behavior have been performed with matrix metal not wit welded metal due to the difficulty of interpreting the test results. In this study, creep crack growth rates were measured with C(T) specimens whose cracks were formed along the fusion line or HAZ. The measured crack growth rates were characterized by {TEX}$C_{t}${/TEX}-parameter derived for elastic-primary-secondary creeping material. Since contribution of primary creep was significant for the tested 1Cr-0.5Mo steel, its effect was carefully studied. Effects of crack tip plasticity and material aging were also discussed.

  • Electrolytic capacitors have been widely used in power electronics system because of the features of large capacitance, small size, high-voltage, and low-cost. Electrolytic capacitors, which is most of the time affected by aging effect, plays a very important role for the power electronics system quality and reliability. Therefore it is important to estimate the parameter of an electrolytic capacitor to predict the failure. The estimation of the equivalent series resistance(ESR) is important parameter in life condition monitoring of electrolytic capacitor. This paper proposes a simple technique to measure the ESR of an electrolytic capacitor. This method uses a switching DC/DC boost converter to measure the DC Bus capacitor ESR of power converter. Main advantage of the proposed method is very simple in technique, consumes very little time and requires only simple instruments. Simulation results are shown to verify the performance of the proposed method.

  • Studies in the evolutionary biology of aging require good estimates of the age-dependent mortality rate coefficient (one of the Gompertz parameters). In this paper we introduce an alternative algorithm for estimating this parameter. And we discuss the sensitivity of the estimates to changes in the other model parameters.

초음파 특성을 이용한 경년열화 평가 (Aging Degradation Assessment of Materials by Ultrasonic Characterization)

  • 실제 사용 온도 보다 높은 $630^{\circ}C$에서 열처리 시간을 변수로 하여 최대 1000 시간 동안 등온 열처리를 통해 2.25Cr-1Mo 강의 경년열화재를 제작하고 열화에 따른 미세조직과 기계적 특성 변화에 대한 초음파 비파괴평가 법으로 표면 특성평가에 우수한 표면 SH파를 적용하였다. 열화에 따른 초음파의 감쇠와 전파시간 및 웨이블렛을 이용한 음속과 감쇠계수의 주파수 의존성평가를 수행한 결과 열화가 진행됨에 따라서 탄화물은 점차 조대화되고 경도는 감소하였다. 감쇠계수는 열화시간이 증가함에 따라서 증가하였고 전파시간 역시 열화의 초기단계에 급격히 증가했다. 초음파의 감쇠와 경도와는 좋은 상관관계를 나타내어 감쇠계수는 경년열화 평가에 중요한 파라미터임을 알 수 있었다.
