In Korea, oysters are used as an ingredient of Kimchi (Korean pickled cabbage) in early winter. Although viral contamination of oysters, including contamination by norovirus, can provoke gastroenteric illness, little is known of the epidemiological relationship to outbreaks. We postulated that Kimchi ripening can reduce the infectivity of norovirus, in order to test this hypothesis, we carried out a model experiment. Since norovirus is currently regarded as non-culturable, feline calicivirus (FCV) was used as a surrogate to examine the activation of norovirus with Kimchi ripening. In commercial well-prepared Kimchi, the infectivity ($TCID_{50}$) of FCV decreased by 2 log every 12 hours and reached the limit of detection after 48 hours during over-aging at $25^{\circ}C$. During storage at $4^{\circ}C$, the infectivity ($TCID_{50}$) of FCV decreased slowly and reached 5.00 $TCID_{50}$ after 48 hours. The low pH appears to affect the infectivity of FCV directly via organic acids produced by ripening during over-aging and storage. In neutralized lab-prepared Kimchi (pH 7.0), the infectivity ($TCID_{50}$) of FCV also decreased and reached the limit of detection after 72 hours at $4^{\circ}C$. This indicates that there are substances beside organic acids in Kimchi that originate from the raw materials and are produced during ripening. Among the raw materials, salt-fermented anchovies and garlic showed high direct antiviral activity. The main factor decreasing the infectivity of FCV in Kimchi was the high acidity caused by organic acids, regardless of the type, produced by ripening. Furthermore, unknown secondary products of microorganisms associated with Kimchi ripening and antiviral materials originating from raw material might contribute to the decreased infectivity of FCV, the surrogate of norovirus.
The purpose of this study is to clarify the general concept and preparation process for successful aging. At the same time another object is to find out factors which were affecting influences on the preparations for the old age and analyze the relationships between the factors and preparation for old age. 280 questionnaires were distributed to over 40 years-old workers working in Banwol and Siwha industrial complex in Kyeonggi-do. Using 261 questionnaires, frequency analysis, factor analysis and multiple regression analysis, etc were executed with SPSS 18.0 to fulfill the purposes. Findings of the study are as follows. First, health condition had a positive effect on the general preparation for old age, but age, educational career, monthly income, religion and the number of children had partially positive effects. Second, job satisfaction had a positive effect on physical and economical preparation for old age, but job commitment had a positive effect on economical preparation only. Third, Age, educational career, spouse, religion, health condition and the number of children showed different effects on those preparations.
This study analyzes the priority according to the importance of the government's oyster industry support policy using AHP (analytic hierarchy process), and it compares and confirms the satisfaction level of direct and indirect workers using this policy in contribution to the development of the oyster industry. The results of the importance analysis by AHP analysis are as follows: As a result of the evaluation of the importance of the entire sample, it is found that the most important factor is the production facilities of the production supply of the competitiveness enhancement, the purchase of raw materials of the production supply of the competitiveness enhancement, and the aging of the structural risks of risk reduction. Also, significant differences among the workers in the ranking of importance are identified. According to the comprehensive evaluation results of indirect workers, which consist of public officials, the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives, and related professors, raw materials, production facilities, and high-quality products are produced in order to increase competitiveness. There are differences among workers in order of marine pollution of environmental risks, structural fish population reduction, and structural aging of risk factors.
The electrical stability of the varistor ceramics composed of Zn-Pr-Co-Cr-Dy oxides-based varistors was investigated at 0.0∼2.0 mol% Dy$_2$O$_3$ content under DC accelerated aging stress. The ceramic density was increased up to 0.5 mol% Dy$_2$O$_3$ whereas further addition of Dy$_2$O$_3$ decreased sintered ceramic density. The density sailently affected the stability due to the variation of conduction path. The nonlinearity of varistor ceramics was greatly improved above 45 in the nonlinear exponent and below nearly 1.0 ${\mu}$A by incorporating Dy$_2$O$_3$. Under 0.95 V$\_$1mA/150$^{\circ}C$/24 h stress state, the varistor ceramics doped with 0.5 mol% Dy$_2$O$_3$ exhibited the highest electrical stability, in which the variation rates of varistor voltage, nonlinear exponent, and leakage current were -0.9%, -14.4%, and +483.3%, respectively. The variation rates of relative permittivity and dissipation factor were +7.1% and +315.4%, respectively. The varistors with further addition of Dy$_2$O$_3$ exhibited very unstable state resulting in the thermal runaway due to low density.

There are many studies on the health and protection of Old-growth and Giant Trees, concentrating on empirical judgment and basic protection measures. The problem this study addresses is the relative importance and priority of the health evaluation indicators of Old-growth and Giant Trees. Firstly, this study exports the evaluation indicators of Old-growth and Giant Trees. The evaluation system for the degree of danger of Old-growth and Giant Trees are composed of two layers: 5 fields and 46 indicators. Secondly, using the AHP and PCA method can determine the weight of each field and each index factor. The process of AHP establishes the relative importance judgment matrix of each field and fully proves that the main cause of danger is individual aging. The PCA method suggested that trunk rot status, light conditions, tree surgeries, bacterial diseases, and soil moisture level are the most important factors in each field. These aspects should be given priority in the management and protection of Old-growth and Giant Trees. Weight values obtained in this study seemed to be useful in the evaluation of Old-growth and Giant Trees.

Purpose: Traditional markets often have irregular space utilization patterns because the spaces are created and divided as time passed. Internally, there is high risk of fire due to problems such as aging facilities and high-density of stores and externally, there is high risk of fire spread since it is often adjacent to deteriorated residential and commercial facilities. Method: In this paper, on-site investigations were carried out to check fire risk factors and fire spread risk, and fire occurrence and expansion risk factors were investigated for traditional markets in Hwanghak-dong and Dong-daemun by using large-scale fire data from existing traditional markets. Result: As a result of the analysis, there are likely to be various problems such as high fire load and lack of safety awareness due to aging facilities and high-density of stores. In particular, it is necessary to prepare countermeasures because deteriorated residential facilities with narrow alleys around traditional markets have high fire spread. It is situation that while traditional markets mainly are managing for fire and disaster centering on the merchant association, the surrounding residential areas are not properly managed. Conclusion: It is necessary to manage deteriorated residential facilities with traditional markets, also to be linked early warning system and information to evacuate rapidly in case of fire there.

Prior studies have shown positive effects of outdoor activities on the elderly's physical, mental and social health. 'Active aging' and 'age-friendly' neighborhood can be created by modifying the experiences and perceptions of the outdoor environment. This study aims to investigate the outdoor activities of the elderly living in a low-income elderly concentrated area and their perception of the neighborhood environment. We also explored the context of interactions between the facilitators and inhibitors of outdoor activities on the basis of temporal, spatial, and social conditions. We used a mixed method approach by collecting two different types of qualitative GIS data : observation maps of the main places and individual cognitive maps with in-depth interviews. The observational map analysis indicated that the preferred places and activity patterns differ by age, gender, and size of the group. The cognitive map and interviews demonstrated that the elderly's activity goals and perception of the landscape differ by places such as forests, parks, streams, open-spaces, vegetable gardens, and alleys. The elderly's desire for outdoor activities can be better fulfilled when their front doors and alleys are well-connected to an open-sight pleasant space. Familiarity is an important factor for the elderly, therefore it is important to remove the psychological and physical barriers by increasing the legibility and accessibility of places. In addition, social interactions and conflicts can have a significant influence on the elderly's occupation of space in the neighborhood environment.
The study measured a subway construction worker's Macpa stress by Heart Rate Variability measuring instrument and conducted a survey of Korean job stress from subway construction workers. Also, the study analyzed the relationship between Macpa stress index and Korean job stress result and suggested managing stress method for each item. According to National Statistical Office data, the first line subway in Seoul was started to open in 1974. The extended total length is 996 kilometers until 2019. Many aged workers are currently working at subway construction sites due to the avoidance of young workers since the past until now. It means that the elderly has a substantial portion among subway construction workers. The productivity has been adversely affected by health problems due to the aging of workers, job stress due to heavy work, and personal health problems. So, the regulation and policies on job stress health management are being strengthened. The data were measured Macpa stress by machine measuring heart rate variability and conducted Korean job stress survey(shortened) from Sa-sang to Ha-dan line Busan subway construction workers for analyzing the relationship. Independent variable were age, job duration, job position, employment type, working type in this study. Macpa's dependent variable was stress index and Korean job stress survey(shortened)'s dependent variables were job requirements, job autonomy, relationship conflict, job instability, organizational structure, inappropriate compensation, working place culture, and total score. SPSS 12.0 K Statistics Program was used for statistical analysis. Kruskal-wallis test, a nonparametric statistical analysis, was used because the data are difficult to be assumed as normal distribution. As a result, the paper indicated the significant correlation between Macpa stress index and Korean job stress(short version). The elderly workers presented higher Macpa index and higher job stress due to aging and heavy-duty work. The majority workers were daily workers who had unstable working condition and uncertainty about the future. The study suggested a manual that could reduce job stress for subway construction workers and future study deriving management tool through analyzing job stress factor is necessary.

This study investigated meaning of life as mediator of the relationships of meaning of work and happiness in Koran middle aged. A sample of 171 middle aged were participated. in survey about meaning of work, meaning of work and happiness. The data were analyzed using correlation test and path analysis. The results was followed. First, every factors was positively correlated. The meaning of work was positively correlated with meaning in life and happiness. And meaning in life was also positively correlated with happiness. Second, the meaning in life had partial mediation effect between meaning of work and happiness. The middle aged's higher score of meaning of work not only directly increased happiness, but also induced higher level of meaning in life, which, in turn, increased happiness. The results of this study suggested that meaning of work is a predictor meaning in life and happness, and meaning in life can be important factor of the relationship between meaning of work and happiness.
Orthodontic patients are individuals that grow and develop ;therefore selection of the proper time for orthodontic treatment Is considered to be one of the most difficult and yet difficult factor.Since the development of cephalometric X-ray, amount and pattern of craniofacial growth change with aging could be predicted and became useful in the process of orthodontic treatment. The relationship between the mean values of cephalometric measurements and body height and weight was studied among the groups(boys and girls) of Korean children from the ages of 3-years to 12-years. 126 boys and 90 girls with no abnormality in growth and development and no history of orthodontic treatment from the ages of 3 years to 12 years were chosen as subjects: Cephalometric X-ray were taken for 2 years and hard tissue analysis based on Burstone's COGS, which was divided into measurements of 6 parts (Cranial base, Maxillar and Mandible, Vertical measurements, Horizontal measurements, Basal bone relationship, Dental measurements). The relationship between craniofacial growth and body height & weight was studied. The following conclusions were obtained : 1. The maximum growth in the measurements of cranial base, N-Ar(FH), N-Ba(FH) corresponded with the age with the maximum increasein body height & weight in both boys and girls. 2. Genial angle gradually decreased with aging in both boys and girls. 3. N-ANS(L) showed greater amount of growth than ANS-Me(L), and this had greater influence on facial profile. 4. $N-A-Pog^{\circ}$ decreased with aging, and mandibular growth exceeded maxillary growth in amount and rate. 5. Length of Y-axis increased, but Y-axis to FH plane remained constant. This show that mandible grows at a constant angulation to cranial base. 6. As Permanent teeth erupt, interincisal angle deceased.
