소음인(少陰人) 십이미관중탕(十二味寬中湯), 오수유부자이중탕(吳茱萸附子理中湯)이 흰쥐의 뇌(腦)와 간조직(肝組織)의 항산화(抗酸化) 기전(機轉)에 미치는 영향(影響) (A Study on Antioxidative Effects of Sipyimiguanjungtang and Osuyubujayijungtang, Korean Traditional Prescriptions for Soum Constitutes, in Brain and Liver of Rat)

  • 소음인(少陰人) 십이미관중탕(十二味寬中湯)과 오수유부자이중탕(吳茱萸附子理中湯)의 항산화(抗酸化) 효능(效能)을 검증(檢證)하기 위해, 약재(藥材)의 항산화력(抗酸化力)을 측정(測定)하였으며, 흰쥐에 투여(投與)하여 뇌(腦)와 간(肝) 조직(組織)의 항산화력(抗酸化力) 증강(增强) 효과(效果)를 실험(實驗)한 결과 유의성(有意性) 있는 성적(成績)을 얻었기에 보고(報告)하는 바이다. 십이미관중탕(十二味寬中湯)과 오수유부자이중탕(吳茱萸附子理中湯)의 화학적(化學的) 항산화력(抗酸化力)을 검증(檢證)한 결과(結果) 비교적 높은 항산화(抗酸化) 활성(活性)을 보여주었다. HepG2 세포주(細胞株)와 적혈구(赤血球)를 이용한 항산화력(抗酸化力) 검증(檢證)에서도 높은 활성(活性)을 보여주었으며. 특히 십이미관중탕(十二味寬中湯)은 강한 수용성 항산화력제(抗酸化劑))로 알려진 vitamin C와 유사한 결과를 보였다. 실험용(實驗用) 흰쥐에게 탕제(湯劑) 추출물(抽出物)을 4주간(週間) 투여(投與)한 뒤 체중증가량(體重增加量)과 GOT 활성(活性)을 측정(測定)한 결과 탕제(湯劑) 비투여군(非投與群)과 유의적(有意的) 차이(差異)를 보이지 않아 탕제(湯劑) 투여(投與)에 의한 독성(毒性)은 없는 것으로 사료(思料)된다. 활성산소(活性酸素) 발생제(發生劑)인 2.2'-azobis(amidinopropane) dihydrochloride (AAPH)로 산화적(酸化的) 손상(損傷)을 유발(誘發)한 실험용(實驗用) 흰쥐에서 십이미관중탕(十二味寬中湯) 투여군(投與群)은 혈장(血漿) 총항산화력(總抗酸化力), 혈장(血漿) 지질과산화(脂質過酸化)가 억제(抑制)되었으며, 혈장(血漿) thiol 그룹의 감소(減少)도 억제(抑制)되었으나. 오수유부자이중탕(吳茱萸附子理中湯) 투여군(投與群)에서는 유의적(有意的) 차이(差異)가 나타나지 않았다. 십이미관중탕(十二味寬中湯) 투여군(投與群)은 간(肝) 및 뇌조직(腦組織)에서 AAPH로 유도(誘導)된 산화적(酸化的) 손상(損傷)을 유의적(有意的)으로 억제(抑制)하였으며, 체내(體內) 중요(重要) 항산화(抗酸化) 물질(物質)인 glutathione을 보호(保護)하여 체내(體內) 항산화(抗酸化) 능력(能力)을 증진(增進)시킨 것으로 사료(思料)된다. 오수유부자이중탕(吳茱萸附子理中湯) 투여군(投與群)은 제한적(制限的)인 효과(效果)만을 보였다. 십이미관중탕(十二味寬中湯)은 항산화(抗酸化) 효과(效果)가 높은 처방(處方)으로 볼 수 있는 바 임상(臨床)에서 노화방지(老化防止)에 널리 활용(活用)될 수 있을 것으로 사료(思料)된다.

간장과 어육장의 색도 및 갈색색소 패턴 (Chromaticity and Brown Pigment Patterns of Soy Sauce and UHYUKJANG, Korean Traditional Fermented Soy Sauce)

  • 본 연구는 전통적 방법으로 간장 및 어육장을 제조하고 담근 용기는 투명유리 용기를 사용하여 숙성온도(4$^{\circ}C$, 20$^{\circ}C$)와 숙성 기간(360일)에 따라 색도 및 갈색색소의 패턴을 측정하여 간장과 어육장의 색소가 형성되는 과정을 살펴보았다. pH는 숙성 기간이 증가함에 따라 낮아지는 경향을 나타났고 간장 5.52${\sim}$6.26, 어육장 5.11${\sim}$6.13을 나타내었으며 특히 20$^{\circ}C$에서 어육장은 숙성기간에 따른 pH의 현저한 변화 양상을 나타내었다. 420 nm에서의 흡광도를 측정한 결과 시료 종류와 숙성 온도에 상관없이 숙성 기간 180일까지 흡광도가 증가하였으며 가장 높은 흡광도는 간장 4$^{\circ}C$(240일), 어육장 20$^{\circ}C$(360일), 간장 20$^{\circ}C$와 어육장 4$^{\circ}C$의 경우 숙성 180일에 나타났다. 흡광도 400/500 nm에 대한 흡광 비율은 간장 4$^{\circ}C$(1.37${\sim}$5.29), 간장 20$^{\circ}C$(1.37${\sim}$5.02), 어육장 4$^{\circ}C$(1.37${\sim}$5.02), 어육장 20$^{\circ}C$(1.37${\sim}$4.32)의 비율을 나타내었으며 숙성 기간 증가에 따라 간장의 경우 비율이 일정하지 않았으나 어육장 20$^{\circ}C$는 300일까지 비율이 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 색도계 측정 결과 L값은 간장의 경우 숙성 기간에 따라 서서히 증가하는 경향으로 나타났으며 4$^{\circ}C$(240일), 20$^{\circ}C$(180일)에서 가장 높게 나타났고 그 이후 숙성기간이 지날수록 감소하는 경향으로 나타났다. 반면에 어육장의 경우 4$^{\circ}C$(60일), 20$^{\circ}C$(360일)에서 가장 높게 나타났으나 숙성 기간에 따른 차이는 나타나지 않았다. a값은 어육장 20$^{\circ}C$를 제외한 간장에서 숙성기간 120일까지 녹색도가 커졌으며, 특히 간장 20$^{\circ}C$, 어육장 4$^{\circ}C$는 120일 이후 녹색도가 작아지는 경향으로 모든 시료에서 음의 값이 나타나 적색보다는 녹색을 띠는 것으로 나타났다. b값은 간장 20$^{\circ}C$과 어육장 4$^{\circ}C$는 180일까지 증가하였으나 숙성 기간에 따른 b값은 뚜렷한 경향은 보이지 않았다 UV-VIS Spectra를 측정한 결과 모든 시료가 숙성기간에 상관없이 220${\sim}$320 nm 부근에서 최대흡수파장을 나타내었다. 간장 4$^{\circ}C$(240일), 20$^{\circ}C$(180일), 어육장 4$^{\circ}C$와 20$^{\circ}C$는 360일에서 가장 높은 최대흡수파장을 나타내었으며 220${\sim}$320 nm에서 완만한 peak를 나타내는 전형적인 model melanoidin의 특성은 간장 4$^{\circ}C$(240일), 20$^{\circ}C$(120${\sim}$300일), 어육장 4$^{\circ}C$(360일), 20$^{\circ}C$(240일)에서 나타나 어육장이 간장보다 melanoidin 형성 기간이 길며, 어육장 20$^{\circ}C$에 경우 숙성기간이 길어짐에 따라 melanoidin 색소 특유의 패턴이 달라지는 것으로 나타났다. Maillard 반응 정도를 나타내는 유도체(2.4-DNPH)와 3DG 함량을 측정한 결과 유도체(2.4-DNPH) 함량범위는 간장 4$^{\circ}C$(0${\sim}$14.36 mg), 20$^{\circ}C$(0${\sim}$11.76 mg), 어육장 4$^{\circ}C$(0${\sim}$12.48mg), 20$^{\circ}C$(0${\sim}$8.56 mg)으로 나타났으며 3DG 함량범위는 간장 4$^{\circ}C$(0${\sim}$5.65 mg%), 20$^{\circ}C$(0${\sim}$5.34 mg%), 어육장 4$^{\circ}C$(0${\sim}$3.74 mg%), 20$^{\circ}C$(0${\sim}$3.01 mg%)으로 어육장보다는 간장의 3DG 함량이 높게 나타났다. 이상의 결과에서 어육장의 갈색 색소 형성이 간장의 갈색색소 형성과 유사하다는 것을 확인하였다.

  • Glycation and oxidation induce formation of carbonyl (CO) groups in proteins, which can be used to develop an index of cellular aging. Methyl glyoxal (MG) and hypochlorite anions are deleterious products of oxygen free-radical reaction. The effects of eel carnosine on protein modification mediated by MG and hypochlorite were studied. MG and hypochlorite induced formation of carbonyl groups with high molecular weight and cross-linked forms of ovalbumin. The presence of eel carnosine effectively inhibited these modifications in a concentration-dependent manner. Imidazole ring in eel carnosine might have a primary role in inhibition of protein glycation. Our data suggests that the eel carnosine may be useful as a "natural" anti-glycating agents.

  • There has been a growing interest toward railroad conjunction with opening of high-speed rail in 2004 and concurrent implementation of nation's green growth policies. Meanwhile, users' expectation on service of public transportation, especially railroad has been growing than since ever due to heightened quality of life, entering aging society, voice of equity for minorities, and greater interest in environments of communities. In order to come up with the expectations, actual improvements for user's convenience/comfort and its assessment strategies in terms of service quality level are necessary. This study defines the index of this aspect of service level as 'Sensitivity Quality'. This is conceived as one of the important factors to define travel cost as do the travel time and fare, but hardly taken into consideration when assessing a transportation system or policy-making for a transportation project. The elements included for the assessment of the sensitivity quality in this study are feeling of a ride, conformability and convenience what users feel and recognize using a train. This paper suggests that establishing sensitivity quality elements would contribute in foundation of assessing service quality and provide improved public transportation services through their scientific and objective development and management.

Men's and women's body types in the global garment sizing systems

  • Apparel companies define their target customers to integrate consumers' needs into their product development processes. The sizing standards play a significant role in ready-to-wear garment business. Consumers' body build and sizes are different according to gender, age, and body type. The consumers' morphological feature of the one geographical area has changed with immigration, aging, and lifestyle change. In this study the way of defining body types in the standard garment sizing systems published in USA., UK, Germany, Japan, and Korea were compared. The results of this study show that most of the systems classified the body types by the index value. The chest-waist drop value was used for men's body type classification. Women's body types were defined by hip proportion. The hip-bust drop value was used for it. German and European garment sizing systems provide a wide range of men's body types. US men's garment sizes are developed for very conservative body type. US women's garment sizing system has had clearly defined women's body types. The Misses body types projected in the US garment sizing system had changed as women's waist girth got bigger compared to the past. In 2011 the US Misses sizes were divided into Curvy Misses size and Straight Misses size by the hip-waist drop value. The Curvy Misses sizes have smaller waist girth and larger hip girth than the Straight Misses sizes.

닥섬유 함량에 따른 기계한지의 보존성 및 인쇄성 (Preservation and Printability Property of Machine-made Hanji by Different Contents of Paper Mulberry)

  • Hanji has been used mainly for preservation paper because of superior mechanical properties. However, it was not used in printing for inkjet and laser printer-printed letters. In this study, machine-made Hanji was prepared with five different contents of paper mulberry 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100% and managed by same pressure calendering. By increasing of paper mulberry contents, tearing index and folding endurance of machine-made Hanji increased because of increased fiber-to-fiber bonding. Printability property of machine-made Hanji improved by decreasing of paper mulberry contents. After 20 hours accelerated aging, the initial folding endurance of machine-made Hanji was reduced by approximately one-fourth degree. Between 40 and 100% contents of paper mulberry was showed similar levels about preservation property. The machine-made Hanji of paper mulberry 60% content was suitable for permanence and printability properties using preservation paper and printer-printed letters.

요통의 보존적 치료 접근 (Approach of Conservative Treatment in Low Back Pain)

  • Purpose: The data was performed to evaluate the effect of conservative treatment in 30 patients aging from 21 to 71 with lumbar back pain. Methods: The effect of conservative treatment was analyzed with use of pain behavior scale, pain self assessment scale by Million Index in according to age, occupation, duration of symptom, symptom. Results: The occupation were desking job 43.4%, standing job 33.3%, house wife 23.3%. Duration of symptoms in over 2-5 months was 40.0%. The pain in below 1 months, classified by duration of symptoms, was reduced from 2.1 to 3.0 in pain behavior scale, 6.0 to 2.2 in pain self assessment scale(p<0.05). The pain in only lumbar back pain, classified by symptoms, was reduced from 2.0 to 3.0 in pain behavior scale, 6.6 to 2.4 in pain self assessment scale(p<0.05). Conclusion: The pain in over 9 months. classified by duration of physical therapy, was increase 2.0 in pain behavior scale, 4.0 in pain self assessment scale (p<0.05).

시설노인과 지역사회 거주노인에서 사회적 유리에 따른 인지기능과 신체기능 (Cognitive and Physical Function by the Social Disengagement in Institution and Community Living Elderly)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to compare the level of cognitive and physical function by the level of social disengagement in institutions and community dwelling elderly. Method: The study subjects were 209 people whose age ranged from 65 to 94. The data were surveyed with social disengagement index, MMSE-K, and ADL, and analysed by SPSS 11.0 using frequency, t-test, ANCOVA and ANOVA. Results: 1) The level of social disengagement was 1.67 in institution and 3.25 in community elderly, and showed statistically significant difference (F=41.07, p<.001). 2) There were statistically significant difference in MMSE-K (F=15.51, p<.000), and activity of daily living (F=9.65, p=.002) between two residence after control the age, gender, religion, allowance and number of children. 3) There were statistically significant difference in MMSE-K (F=6.55, p=.002) by social disengagement in community dwelling elderly. Conclusions: Programs for successful aging to reduce social disengagement should be developed that stimulate social activities and then improve cognitive function for the elderly. For these, establishing social policies in nation and local government is needed. Especially, these policies should be conducted among the elderly with low-income living in institutions.

폐경기 여성을 위한 슬랙스 패턴에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Slacks Blocks for the Menopausal Women)

  • From the menopause, women's aging progress is accelerated. Changes of lower body somatotype are accentuated in abnormal of body index and proportion. The purpose of this study is making more functional, more beautiful and more comfortable slacks for the postmenopausal women who actively participate in social activities. The results of this study are as follows: As the characteristics of this study pattern, hip circumference was replaced with maximum lower body circumference, the crotch length was defined as H/4, front crotch extension was H/16 and back crotch extension was defined as H/8. The center backline was set up with half of crotch level line. As characteristics of style, waist line is lowered 2cm at the center front, 1cm at the center back with a little bent waistband. Knee line was set up heightened 6cm from crotch level to the ancle, and widened the width of the knee and ancle, and made in semi bell bottom. 6 women who put on slacks designed from their body size evaluated that their experimental slacks were superior than ready to wear.

단백질 분해효소억제제를 이용한 담배의 품질평가 (Evaluation of Cigarette Quality by Use of ??1-Protease Inhibitor)

  • Current studies indicated that emphysema in smokers might be due, in part, to the local suppression of G, -protease inhibitor(u, -Pl) in lung by reactive oxygen species in cigarette smoke or smoke-activated lung neutrophiles. In the present works, we examined the possibility that a measure which inactivated $\alpha$l-Pl by cigarette smoke could be an alternative method to evaluate the cigarette quality, In order to determine the inactivation of $\alpha$1, -Pl, trypsin inhibitory capacity(TIC) was assayed. A rapid loss of $\alpha$1, -Pl activity occurred when $\alpha$1-Pl solutions was exposed the gas phase or total particulate matter(TPM) obtained from various brands. The inactivation of $\alpha$1-Pl by gas phase was dependent upon the number of puffs and the age of the smoke. However, that by TPM was rather decreased since 2 puffs and also showed no more change over 24hrs after exposing. Inactivation of $\alpha$1-Pl determined by our suggested method(5 puffs, 24hours of aging after exposing) using various commercial cigarettes exhibited that high tar brands has inactivated it more strongly than low tar cigarettes. But the ability of some brands to inactivate $\alpha$1-Pl does not correlate with the content of tar or nicotine. These results so여esc that the degree of $\alpha$1-Pl inactivation by cigarette smoke may be a useful index for the evaluation of cigarette quality and that it should be also contribute to the manufacture of less hazardous cigarettes.
