  • Many IT organizations aspire to improve the efficiency and general standard of their software development effort by implementing agile software development practices. Some of the popular agile development methods adopted by IT organizations are Scrum, eXtreme Programming (XP), Kanban, Featured Driven Development (FDD) and Dynamic System Development Method (DSDM). This paper intends to identify and analyze the barriers that impact on the performance of IT organizations that use such agile software development methods. The analysis will help the IT organizations to cater the needed aspects to be successful. The analysis will also help the IT organizations to select the right methodology for their organization. The contribution of this analysis is to present guideline related to avoid or overcome the barriers towards adoption of agile.

  • The aim of this study is to propose the design suitable for sustainability evaluation model of the mobile industry considering system process (SEP). Although a quantitative evaluation was conducted on the link between the national sustainability report and the mobile industry, it was confirmed that it was difficult to identify stakeholders. So it is necessary to develop the design process suitable for the more operator-specific interfaces. The Human System Integration (HSI) methodology was proposed through linkage with work domain analysis. Agile methodology and Resilience engineering methodology were added for sustainable model design. The proposed sustainability system evaluation model is applied so that it can be easily used in all industries.

  • Various business model and computing environments are currently merged into web services and many web related application products are also develop. Most of IT enterprises in Korea use the Service-oriented architecture (SOA) whenever they develop the web applications. SOA is an approach to loosely coupled, protocol independent, standards-based distributed computing where software resources available on the network are considered as Services. SOA is believed to become the future enterprise technology solution that promises the agility and flexibility the business users have been looking for by leveraging the integration process through composition of the services spanning multiple enterprises. But, There are no specific development methodology to apply into SOA standard model until now. The developer uses the currently existing methodology to develop the application with SOA. The users have some limitations to use it. In this paper, we suggest a Frameworks for applying agile methodology into SOA to address the productivity and quality of small web related project. We design and implement a frameworks architecture for applying the agile method into SOA and describe the process model to implement it. We finally evaluate the frameworks with productivity, flexibility and maintainability.

  • The main purpose of the study is to determine the key aspects of Agile management as the basis of a management system in the context of globalization. The research methodology includes several scientific and theoretical methods that have achieved this goal. Adaptation of enterprises engaged in the development, production, and sale of innovative products to constant and rapid changes in the external environment requires managers to apply appropriate management methods. The use of Agile management in the management of innovation processes can speed up their implementation, minimize and optimize the use of resources, time, and effort of staff, can increase customer and customer satisfaction with the end result and, consequently, improve the company's competitive position in the market. The results of the study identified key aspects of the application of Agile management in the management system in the context of globalization.

  • With the increasing market dynamics, the concept of agile manufacturing system gets more and more attention. For a manufacturing system to be agile, the supply chain should also have sufficient agility. However, most of the supply chain design methods are based on the human experience or trial-and-errors. In this paper, a systematic methodology is proposed. It takes into account the agility of supply chain, the behavior of which is represented as a beam model in mechanics, composed of supplier, transporter, manufacturer, distributor, and customer.

  • This paper analyzes the effect on productivity by measuring Function Point per MM(man-month) in a software development project and code inspection which performed in Agile methodology, and introduce the method of applying MDA/MDD technology in the e-government standard framework project. MDA/MDD which recently raising its head is technology that increase software development productivity through automatic transformation form abstract model into lower abstract model, or from model to code. but, many Lessons obtained through the case studies, the analysis suggests a limited effect measurements. In this study, efficient development methodology and utilizing a e-government framework to measure the effectiveness of the MDD to the new measures through a case study applied to real information system development process. In addition to, managing information modeling through integrated repository presents a traceability and visibility.

  • This paper deals with missile autopilot design for agile turn phase in air-to-air engagement scenarios. To attain a fast response, angle-of-attack (AOA) is adopted for an autopilot command structure. Since a high operational AOA is generally required during the agile turn phase, dealing with the aerodynamic uncertainties can be a challenge for autopilot design. As a remedy, a new controller design method based on robust nonlinear control methodology such as time delay control is proposed in this paper. Nonlinear observer is also proposed to estimate the AOA in the presence of the model uncertainties. The performance of the proposed controller with variation of the aerodynamic coefficients is investigated through numerical simulations.

  • Agile methodologies have gained recognition as efficient development processes through their quick delivery of software, even under time constraints. However, like other agile methods such as Scrum, Extreme Programming (XP) and The Dynamic Systems Development Method (DSDM), Feature Driven Development (FDD) has been criticized due to the unavailability of security elements in its twelve practices. In order to examine this matter more closely, we conducted a systematic literature review (SLR) and studied literature for the years 2001-2012. Our findings highlight that, in its current form, the FDD model partially supports the development of secure software. However, there is little research on this topic, as detailed information about the usage of secure software is rarely published. Thus, we have been able to conclude that the existing five phases of FDD have not been enough to develop secure software until recently. For this reason, security-based phase and practices in FDD need to be proposed.

  • As time to market and rapid reaction to changes in demand is much required, agile software development methodologies whose characteristics are great adaptability and short iteration developments are getting more popular. Though there have been a number of literature suggesting the great potential of agile software development, some recent studies have also mentioned its limitations. We believe there remains much confusion as to whether agile approaches are good to introduce or not. In an effort to provide 'real' characteristics of agile development, this paper evaluates Scrum, one of the most used agile approaches, using a software measurement framework. It also presents a Scrum measurement case study of a web portal company. We believe this study will provide some concrete guidelines as to whether Scrum is worth, what are weak points, and how to control the agile process in order to get over the weakness.
