민수부문의 에너지원별 수요예측모형 (An Energy Demand Forecasting Model for the Residential and Commercial Sector)

  • This paper presents a generalized fuel choice model in which restrictive constraints on cross-price coefficients as Baughman-Joskow-FEA Logit Model need not be imposed, but all demand elasticities are uniquely determined. The model is applied to estimating aggregate energy demand and fuel choices for the residential and commercial sector. The structural equations are estimated by a generalized least squares procedure using national-level EPB, KDI, BK, KRIS, MOER data for 1965 and 1980, and other related reports. The econometric results support the argument that “third-price” and “fourth-price” coefficients should not be constrained in estimating relative market share models. Furthermore, by using this fuel choice model, it has forecasted energy demands by fuel sources in, the residential and commercial sector until 1991. The results are turned out good estimates to compare with existing demands forecasted from other institutes.

Is Currency Appreciation or Depreciation Expansionary in Thailand?

  • Many developing countries have attempted to depreciate their currencies in order to make their products cheaper, stimulate exports, shift aggregate demand to the right, and increase aggregate output. However, currency depreciation tends to increase import prices, raise domestic inflation, reduce capital inflows, and shift aggregate supply to the left. The net impact is unclear. The paper incorporates the monetary policy function in the model, which is determined by the inflation gap, the output gap, the real effective exchange rate, and the world real interest rate. Applying an extended IS-MP-AS model (Romer, 2000), the paper finds that real depreciation raised real GDP during 1997.Q1-2005.Q3 whereas real appreciation increased real GDP during 2005.Q4-2017.Q2. In addition, a higher government debt-to-GDP ratio, a lower U.S. real federal funds rate, a higher real stock price, a lower real oil price or a lower expected inflation rate would help increase real GDP. Hence, real depreciation or real appreciation may increase or reduce aggregate output, depending upon the level of economic development. Although expansionary fiscal policy is effective in stimulating the economy, caution needs to be exercised as there may be a debt threshold beyond which a further increase in the debt-to-GDO ratio would hurt economic growth.

  • Aggregate planning coordinate the control variable over long-term to apply a demand variable and forcasting. In order to necessary the goal that doesn't make an inter-contradiction and explicitly defined. We made a considerable point of system approach for scheduling establishment. It include the control variables of aggregate planning : 1) employment 2) over time working and idle time 3) inventory 4) delivery delay S) subcontract 61 long - term facility capacity. Each variables composed of pure strategy as like a decision of inventory level, a change of employment level, etc. md alternative costs make a computation on the economic foundation. But the optimum alternative costs represent the mixed pure strategy. The faults of this method doesn't optimum guarantee a special scheduling as well as increasing a number of alternative combination. Theoretical, Linear Decision Rule make an including all variables, but it is almost impossible for this model to develope actually And also make use of the aggregate planning problem for developing system approach : LDR, heuristic model, Search Decision Rule, all kind of computers, simulation. But these models are very complex, each variables get an extremely inter-dependence. So this study be remained by theory level, some approach methods has not been brought the optimum solution to apply in every cases.

구조방정식모형을 이용한 통신이 통행에 미치는 영향 분석 (Analyzing Impacts of Telecommunications on Travel Using Structural Equation Modeling)

  • 본 연구는 총체적 관점에서 통신이 통행에 미치는 영향을 수요, 공급, 비용, 토지이용 등의 인과관계를 고려한 종합적인 체계속에서 분석하는 것이다. 이를 위해 통행, 통신, 토지이용, 경제활동, 사회인구지표를 고려한 개념적 모형을 개발하였다. 그리고 이 개념적 모형을 토대로 미국의 $1950{\sim}2000$년의 시계열 자료를 이용하여 통신(시내 전화통화 수, 장거리 전화통화 수, 이동전화가입자수)과 통행 (vehicle-miles traveled와 대중교통이용자수)간의 구조방정식 모형을 개발하였다. 연구결과 통신의 이용이 승용차 및 대중교통의 통행을 증가시키는 것으로 분석되었다. 이밖에 교통시설공급 확대와 토지이용(도시교외화)도 통행에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

  • Recently, as concrete is used in many construction works in Korea, the use of aggregates is also increasing. However, the depletion of aggregate resources is making it difficult to supply and demand high-quality aggregates, and the use of defective aggregates is causing problems such as poor performance such as the liquidity and strength of concrete pouring out in the field. As a result, quality tests such as sieve analysis test is conducted on their own, but this study was conducted to improve time and manpower by using the CNN-based Deep Learning Model for the fineness modulus.

제주-내륙 간 국내선 항공여객수요모형 및 탄력성의 추정 (Estimation of Air Travel Demand Models and Elasticities for Jeju-Mainland Domestic Routes)

  • 제주-내륙 간 국내선 항공여객수요는 여가통행의 대표적인 시계열 특성인 1년을 주기로 증감을 반복하는 전형적인 계절변동 패턴을 보인다. 본 연구는 10년(1996${\sim}$2005) 동안의 제주-내륙 간 월별 시계열 총량자료를 이용하여 단순시계열모형과 부분조정모형 및 이들 모형별 탄력성(소득, 운임)을 추정하였다. 탄력성 추정결과 단순시계열모형의 경우 소득탄력성은 탄력적(1.55), 운임탄력성은 비탄력적(-0.49${\sim}$-0.59)으로 추정되었다. 부분조정모형의 경우 소득탄력성은 단기에는 비탄력적(0.51), 장기에는 탄력적(1.88)으로 추정되었으며, 운임탄력성은 장 단기 모두 비탄력적으로 추정되었으나, 단기(성수기:-0.13, 비수기:-0.20)보다는 장기(성수기:-0.48, 비수기:-0.72)가 보다 더 탄력적으로 추정되었다.

Impacts of the Real Effective Exchange Rate and the Government Deficit on Aggregate Output in Australia

  • Based on a simultaneous-equation model consisting of aggregate demand and short-run aggregate supply, this paper estimates a reduced-form equation specifying that the equilibrium real GDP is a function of the real effective exchange rate, the government deficit as a percent of GDP, the real interest rate, foreign income, labor productivity, the real oil price, the expected inflation rate, and the interactive and intercept binary variables accounting for a potential change in the slope of the real effective exchange rate and shift in the intercept. Applying the exponential GARCH technique, it finds that aggregate output in Australia has a positive relationship with the real effective exchange rate during 2003.Q3 - 2013.Q2, the government deficit as a percent of GDP, U.S. real GDP, labor productivity and the real oil price and a negative relationship with the real effective exchange rate during 2013.Q3 - 2016.Q1, the real lending rate and the expected inflation rate. These results suggest that real appreciation was expansionary before 2013.Q3 whereas real depreciation was expansionary after 2013.Q2 and that more government deficit as a percent of GDP would be helpful to stimulate the economy. Hence, the impact of real appreciation or real depreciation on real GDP may change overtime.

Is Real Appreciation or More Government Debt Contractionary? The Case of the Philippines

  • This paper has studied the impacts of the exchange rate, government debt as a percent of GDP and other relevant macroeconomic variables on aggregate output in the Philippines. A simultaneous-equation model consisting of aggregate demand and short-run aggregate supply is applied. The dummy variable technique is employed to detect whether the slope and intercept of the real effective exchange rate may have changed. Real depreciation during 1998.Q1 - 2006.Q3, real appreciation during 2006.Q4 - 2016.Q1, a lower domestic debt as a percent of GDP, a lower real interest rate, a higher stock price or a higher lagged real oil price would raise aggregate output. Recent trends of real peso appreciation, declining domestic debt as a percent of GDP, lower real interest rates, and rising stock prices are in line with the empirical results and would promote economic growth. The authorities may need to continue to pursue fiscal prudence and maintain a stronger peso as the positive effect of real appreciation dominates its negative effect in recent years.

  • 이 연구는 최근 소비자 행동분석에서 많이 사용되고 있는 설문조사에 의한 Stated Preference의 방법론을 채택하여 항공여객수요의 가격탄력성을 분석하였다. 우리나라의 국내선 항공은 항공요금이 지금가지 인가제나 신고제로 규제되어 왔기 때문에 통상의 총량자료에 의한 회귀분석으로는 가격탄력성 도출이 어려우며 특별한 분석방법론을 필요로 한다. 이 연구에서는 항공여객에 대한 설문조사로 항공편과 철도, 버스, 승용차 등 대체교통수단과의 선택 여부에 대한 자료를 입수한 후, SP기법에 따른 Logit model로 분석하여 항공수요의 가격탄력성과 대체교통수단으로의 모드별 쉐어 변환율을 Sample Enumeration 방식에 의해 추정하였다 대체 가격탄력성은 -0.6∼-0.9의 값으로 밝혀졌으며 대체교통수단으로는 주로 철도를 선택하고 일부 버스를 선택하며 승용차는 거의 선택하지 않는 것으로 조사되었다.

사회인구통계 및 상수도시설 특성을 고려한 소블록 단위 물 수요예측 연구 (Water demand forecasting at the DMA level considering sociodemographic and waterworks characteristics)

  • Numerous studies have established a correlation between sociodemographic characteristics and water usage, identifying population as a primary independent variable in mid- to long-term demand forecasting. Recent dramatic sociodemographic changes, including urban concentration-rural depopulation, low birth rates-aging population, and the rise in single-person households, are expected to impact water demand and supply patterns. This underscores the necessity for operational and managerial changes in existing water supply systems. While sociodemographic characteristics are regularly surveyed, the conducted surveys use aggregate units that do not align with the actual system. Consequently, many water demand forecasts have been conducted at the administrative district level without adequately considering the water supply system. This study presents an upward water demand forecasting model that accurately reflects real water facilities and consumers. The model comprises three key steps. Firstly, Statistics Korea's SGIS (Statistical Geological Information System) data was reorganized at the DMA level. Secondly, DMAs were classified using the SOM (Self-Organizing Map) algorithm to consider differences in water facilities and consumer characteristics. Lastly, water demand forecasting employed the PCR (Principal Component Regression) method to address multicollinearity and overfitting issues. The performance evaluation of this model was conducted for DMAs classified as rural areas due to the insufficient number of DMAs. The estimation results indicate that the correlation coefficients exceeded 0.9, and the MAPE remained within approximately 10% for the test dataset. This method is expected to be useful for reorganization plans, such as the expansion and contraction of existing facilities.
