손씻기 교육이 대학생의 손씻기 지식, 태도 및 이행정도에 미치는 효과 (The Effect of an Educational Hand Washing Program on Knowledge, Attitude and Performance of Hand Washing in Undergraduates)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of hand washing education programs on knowledge, attitude and performance of hand washing in Undergraduates. Methods: The study used a nonequivalent control group quasi-experimental design. A total of 118 students in K university in Seoul, Korea, participated in this study. 67 students were included in the experimental group and 51 students were in the control group. The experimental group was given a lecture, Educational Hand Washing Program, developed by researchers. Using a structural questionnaire, the students' perception on hand washing was measured before and after the intervention, in terms of knowledge, attitude, and performance at home and school. Results: The experimental group showed significantly higher scores in knowledge (p=.033), attitude (p<.001), and performance at home (p=.001). However, the performance at school didn't show a significant difference between the two groups (p=.063). Conclusion: The results indicate that education is effective in enhancing knowledge, attitude, and performance of hand washing.

일부지역 고등학생의 구강건강실태에 관한 조사연구 (A Study of Oral Health Fact of High School Students in Certain District)

  • Objectives: This study was designed to understand the oral health fact of high school students, search for an education method and learning goal appropriate for the subjects, and utilize them as basic data to think of effective solutions for oral health care. Methods: The samples to achieve the purpose of this research are composed of 386 students in J industrial high school, OO city, Kyounggido, the number of male students 286, and female students 100. Data were statistically analyzed by frequency analysis, cross tabulation by using SPSS WIN Ver. 12.0. Results: First, The answers in terms of oral symptoms were in the order of 31.8% for gum hurt and bleeding, 31.4% for pain in teeth by drinking or eating hot and cold drinks or food, 27.1% for broken or cracked teeth, 25.7% for aching and throbbing teeth, 20.6% for unpleasant mouth smell, and 5.7% for pain of tongue and soft oral tissues. Second, In terms of behavior for oral health, 88.4% answered that they consume cariogenic snacks, while 29.2% of them, 2.5% of male and 6.3% of female enjoy consuming them but hardly brush their teeth after consumption. Third, In terms of timing for brushing teeth, the results show that 50.0% do so before breakfast, 47.9% after breakfast, 15.2% after lunch, 36.9% after dinner, 65.5% before going to sleep, and 3.5% after consuming snacks, whereas 64.2% answered that they are not aware of fluorine mouthwash. Fourth, In terms of oral health condition. proportion of children with one or more caries in permanent teeth was 71.0%, while 51.4% have $2{\sim}3$ cariogenic teeth, and 16.8% have more than 4 cariogenic teeth. Considering sex, female students have somewhat higher ratio showing 68.5% for male and 78.0% for female, but the ratio was 53.1% for male and 46.7% for female in case of $2{\sim}3$ cariogenic teeth, and 17.5% for male and 15.8% for female in case of more than 4 cariogenic teeth. 9.3% of students turned out to have decayed teeth. Fifth, In terms of oral hygiene condition, only 7.9% of them had excellent condition, and 38.4% need to improve. More specifically, 41.1% of male students and 30.6% of female students need to improve their oral hygiene condition. Conclusions: The study results suggest that School Dental health programs increase and need to be community-incorporated and comprehensive from elementary to high school.

영재교육에 대한 초등학교 교사들의 인식 (Elementary School Teachers' Perception of Gifted Education)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 초등학교 교사들의 영재교육에 대한 현황과 인식을 알아보기 위한 것으로, 이를 위해 영재교육에 대한 일반적 인식, 영재의 특성, 영재의 판별, 영재교육 프로그램, 그리고 영재 담당교사에 대한 인식을 설문을 통하여 분석하였다. 설문 분석 결과 초등학교 교사들의 영재 교육에 대한 인식은 대체로 긍정적이었으나, 세부적인 내용에 대한 인식은 낮은 편이었으며, 영재의 지적 특성에 대한 인식은 높았으나, 영재의 정서적 특성에 대한 인식은 낮았다. 그리고 영재의 조기판별에 대한 인식은 높았으나, 영재의 판별 기준에 대한 인식이나 판별 능력은 낮은 편이었다. 또한 영재 프로그램에 대한 인식은 접해본 경험 부족으로 인해 매우 낮았으며, 영재 담당 교사 연수에 대한 인식은 높았으나, 영재 담당 교사에 대한 의향은 매우 낮았다. 이로써 영재교육에 대한 이론적 인식은 보통이나 긍정적인 수준이었지만 실천적 인식은 영재교육에 대한 열악한 재정적, 행정적 환경으로 인해 낮은 수준에 있었음을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구는 영재교육에 대한 초등의 현실을 파악하고, 이를 기초로 교사들의 영재교육에 대한 올바른 인식을 형성하기 위한 방향을 모색하는 데 그 의의 가 있다.

3D프린터를 활용한 융합교육이 초등학생의 컴퓨팅 사고력에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of the Integrative Education Using a 3D Printer on the Computational Thinking Ability of Elementary School Students)

  • 새로운 2015 개정 교육과정이 추구하고 있는 목적 중의 하나는 4차 산업혁명 시대에 살아갈 학생들이 기본 학습 능력의 바탕 위에 다양한 발상과 도전으로 새로운 것을 창출하는 창의성을 기르는 것이다. 이에 따라 주어진 문제들을 합리적으로 해결하기 위하여 다양한 영역의 지식과 정보를 처리하고 활용할 수 있는 융합적 문제해결 역량이 중요시되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 틴커캐드(Tinkercad) 모델링을 기반으로 하여 3D프린터를 활용한 융합교육을 설계하고 이를 수업에 적용하여 초등학생의 컴퓨팅 사고력 증진에 미치는 영향을 알아보았다. 연구 내용을 검증하기 위해 초등학교 6학년 25명 2개 반을 실험집단과 통제집단으로 나누고 실험집단에는 약 3개월간 3D프린터를 활용한 융합교육 프로그램 12차시를 적용하고, 통제집단에는 같은 시기 동안 동일 주제의 강의식 교과 수업을 진행하였다. 그 후에 컴퓨팅 사고력 검사 도구를 투입하여 사전-사후 검사로 t-검정을 실시하고 그 효과성을 알아보았다. 프로그램 적용 후 사후 검사에서 실험집단은 컴퓨팅 사고력이 통계적으로 유의하게 향상 되었으나, 통제집단은 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 없었다. 이 결과를 통해 틴커캐드 모델링 기반의 3D프린터를 활용한 융합교육이 초등학생의 컴퓨팅 사고력 증진에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 보인다.

간호대학(학과) 학사 편입과정 졸업생의 실태와 과정의 상대적 효율성 분석 (Profile of the accelerated second-degree bachelor of science in nursing program graduates and analysis of relative efficiency of programs)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to describe the profile of graduates from accelerated second-degree Bachelor of Science in Nursing programs and to analyze the relative efficiency of nursing colleges using data envelopment analysis. Methods: An online survey link was emailed to the deans of nursing colleges, who were then asked to send the link to graduates of the respective colleges. The survey questionnaire included demographics, reasons for applying to the accelerated second-degree Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, employment after graduation, and nursing career satisfaction. Results: Sixty-two graduates of the accelerated second-degree Bachelor of Science in Nursing program responded to the survey. The mean age at admission was 24.28 (± 3.01) years. Reasons for applying to the accelerated second-degree Bachelor of Science in Nursing program were primarily increasing job security and using it as a stepping stone to another career. Nursing career job satisfaction was 4.81 (± 1.07) and more than 82% recommended this program. The data envelopment analysis found the average efficiency score to be 0.84 (± 0.20) and 4 nursing colleges to be relatively efficient. Conclusion: The accelerated second-degree Bachelor of Science in Nursing program can be considered to be an effective means to produce quality nurses with non-nursing bachelor degrees in a short time; however, outcomes of this program need to be systematically monitored to maintain quality level. Through this, competent nurses with knowledge of adjacent studies will be added to the nursing workforce.

Korean Dental Hygienists' Job Description Based on Systematic Review

  • Background: Korean dental hygienists perform various tasks under the supervision of dentists in addition to the tasks listed in the law. Many meaningful studies have been conducted to determine the actual tasks of dental hygienists, but these studies did not show common results due to the differences in research methods or designs. Hence, this study aimed to review the reported data on the tasks of dental hygienists in Korea and to clarify them based on a systematic literature review. Methods: For the literature search, the COre, Standard, and Ideal model presented by the National Library of Medicine was referenced. Seven databases were searched for literatures published in Korea, including PubMed, and Google Scholar. Of the 352 studies found using key words, titles, and abstracts, 46 were finally extracted based on the first and second exclusion criteria. After confirming the tasks of Korean dental hygienists in 46 literatures, 136 tasks were listed and calculated as appearance rate in the literature. Results: The most common tasks in 46 studies were fluoride application (67.2%), radiography (65.4%), scaling (65.4%), sealant (60.7%), patient management and counseling (56.7%), tooth-brushing education (52.2%), impression taking with alginate (50.1%), and making temporary crowns (47.9%). The most mentioned tasks of dental hygienists in public health centers were fluoride application (100%), sealant (100%), oral health education (71.4%), public oral health program evaluation (71.4%), school fluoride mouth-rinsing program (71.4%), water fluoridation (57.1%), tooth-brushing education (57.1%), school oral health programs (57.1%), and public elderly oral health programs (57.1%). Conclusion: This study showed that Korean dental hygienists had 136 tasks by reviewing 46 related studies and that the main job of Korean dental hygienists was oral disease prevention including scaling, sealant, and fluoride application.

영양교사의 전문성 증진을 위한 직무연수에 관한 연구 - 경북지역 중심으로 - (Study on Job Training for Specialty Enhancement of School Nutrition Teachers - In Gyeongbuk Area -)

  • The present study was performed to evaluate the job training needs of school nutrition teachers in order to enhance their specialty. Three hundred and forty questionnaires were distributed to school nutrition teachers working at primary and high schools in the Gyeongbuk area while 45 were distributed to professors during 2010~2011. Three hundred and two questionnaires from school nutrition teachers and 33 from professors were returned and analyzed. The rate of teachers practicing nutrition education was 54%, and the educational content was obtained mainly from the internet. The top three problems the teachers encountered were 'lack of standardized educational materials', 'inexperience of teaching', and 'insufficiency of expert knowledge'. The teachers recognized 'training program' as the best solution. However, the job training program operated immediately after teachers were appointed scored only 3.03 out of 5.00. Important contents of the training program ranked highly by the teachers were 'development of education materials', 'nutrition counseling', and 'teaching method'. The professors included 'expert knowledge' in their top three contents. Both the teachers and professors agreed to increase the frequency of 'practice' in training methods. Other factors the teachers considered to be important were high quality, diversity, ability of the instructor, training cycle, and the institution in charge. From these results, it can be concluded that efficient job training programs are needed for school nutrition teachers according to the importance of the education contents and training methods. It is therefore suggested that a cooperation committee be composed of an educator, educatee, and related personal in a local education office in order to operate the program.

스트레칭체조에 대한 교육이 여성근로자의 근골격계질환 예방을 위한 자기효능감, 건강신념 및 실천의지에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Stretching Exercise Education on Female Workers' Self-efficacy, Health Belief and Practical Intention for Preventing Musculoskeletal Diseases)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of stretching exercise education on female workers' behavior for preventing musculoskeletal diseases. Method: This study educated occupational health nurses working in Seoul and Kyunggi area for stretching exercise methods and then had them educate female workers in each workplace for the stretching exercise methods. The subjects of this study were 205 female workers and the research period was from June to October 2003. Results: The female workers' self-efficacy on stretching exercise increased significantly. The female workers' perceived susceptibility on stretching exercise increased significantly. As for change in practical intention on preventive behavior for musculoskeletal diseases, those who replied to have a plan to exercise regularly and to want to participate in stretching exercise class increased significantly. According to whether to have subjective musculoskeletal symptoms or not, self-efficacy increased significantly after education in both workers with such symptoms and those without, and perceived susceptibility and cue to action increased significantly after education in workers without such symptoms. Conclusion: It is necessary to develop programs to increase self-efficacy and health belief and to apply them to female workers to prevent musculoskeletal diseases. In addition, it is necessary to provide repeated education for female workers' steady practice of preventive behavior.

교육과정과 연계된 초등학교 캠프형 SW·AI교육 콘텐츠 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the development of elementary school SW·AI educational contents linked to the curriculum(camp type))

  • 코로나 이후 급격한 현대사회의 변화는 인공지능 인재가 국가 경쟁력을 좌우하는 주요한 영향요인으로 부각시겼다. 이에 따라 교육부에서는 인공지능 교육 공백기에 있는 초등학교 4-6학년과 중고등학생의 디지털 역량을 개발시키기 위해 대단위 SW·AI 캠프 교육 사업을 기획하였다. 이에 본 연구에서는 초등학교 4-6학년 학생들을 대상으로 하는 캠프 형 SW·AI교육프로그램을 개발하여 초등학교 4-6학년 학생들로 하여금 인공지능 기초소양을 갖추도록 하고자 한다. 이를 위해 초등학교에서의 SW·AI 교육의 의미를 정의하고 초등학교과정에서 다루어야 할 SW·AI 내용으로 'SW·AI의 이해', 'SW·AI의 원리와 활용' 및 'SW·AI의 사회적 영향'을 설정하였다. 또한 설정된 초등학교 SW·AI 교육학습 요소와 현재 초등학교에서 사용하고 있는 교과서의 관련 교과 및 단원과의 연계를 시도하였다. 교육에 사용되는 프로그램으로는 블록코딩 기반의 소프트웨어 코딩 학습 도구인 엔트리를 통하여 소프트웨어 프로그래밍 기초 역량을 강화하도록 하였으며, 모든 프로그램은 초등학생의 발달적 특징을 고려하여 경험과 체험 위주의 참여자 중심으로 운영되도록 설계하였다. 본 연구에서 이루어진 SW·AI 캠프 교육 프로그램은 방과 후 과정이나 방학 등을 이용하여 단기간에 운영되는 프로그램이다. 따라서 이를 토대로 초등학교 과정에서 SW·AI 교육이 정규교육과정의 일원으로 편성되어 운영되기 위해서는 정규교과 내용분석과 SW·AI 교육내용의 심층적인 분석을 기초로 한 연구가 필요함을 제언하는 바이다.

취업 학부모를 위한 초등학교의 "일-가정 균형" 제도 현황 (Work-family Balance for Working Parents with Elementary School Children in Korea)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the education policies for work-family balance in Korea. Data were collected from homepages of elementary schools(n=196). The major analysis was performed through the following 4 subjects, parent-teacher association, after-school programs, holidays on every alternate Saturday, arbitrary no school days. Based on the results, the policy implications on social investment policies were discussed : To promote work-family balance, family-friendly culture in workplaces as well as schools should be established that develop childcare system for working parents. The linkages between educational system and work system will contribute to parents' rights in Korea.
