The Changes and Future Direction of Graphical Projection in Computer Games (컴퓨터게임에 나타난 투영도법의 변천과 전개방향)

  • This study is about projection methods in computer games that support graphic user interface. Most of previous studies were case studies on or aesthetic approaches to a specific projection method. We investigated projection methods observed in computer games according to the chronicle of games, and studied changes in the methods and their future direction. Furthermore, we examined the emotional and productive aspects of various projection methods, and found that projection methods in computer games are being developed in accordance with graphic designers' job difficulty and computer processing capacity. Project, which determines contents consumers' view, is a very important factor to be decided at the planning stage of contents development. In this sense, we expect the results of this study to make a contribution to relevant areas.

The Surrealistic Formative Characters of Modern Costume (현대복식의 초현실주의적 조형성)

  • This thesis, drastically breaking from the prior form of art, searched mutual relationship between surrealism centering around surrealism which tried to liberate the spirit of humanbeing by investigating internal world of the humanbeing. That is to say, it is the purpose of this thesis to study the relationship between artistic trend and costume by grasping how the artistic trend of an age was specifically accepted and expressed to the modern costume as the foundation of fashion. Followings are the searched results for searching mutual relationship of the surrealism and modern costume. At first, surrealism made it possible from modern costume to an expression of formative art, and at the same time emerge from existed uniform costume, and thus presented new possibility to the harmony of costume and art with fresh and avant-garde sense. Second, by being applied the expressing method of depaysement which could materialize surrealistic image to the modern costume from various angels, and thus it suggested new aesthetic conception different from general conception of the traditional costume. Third, with regard to modern costume, introduction of various object due to thought of surrealism was a new and innovative attempt, and thus it suggested infinitive possibility of creation. So, it suggested that we could thrown away a fixed idea and that every objects could be moulded. As the result of the afore-said, wide application of the idea and formative feature of surrealism with regard to modern costume did not only ring the diversification and individualization of the costume escaped from the past traditional idea, but also at the same time prepared modern costume with the moment to develop as a formative arts.

A Study on Clothing Behavior and Clothing Purchasing Behavior based on Value of University Students (남녀 대학생의 가치관에 따른 의복행동 및 의복구매행동 연구)

  • This study was intended to examine factor structure of value and clothing behavior and the effects of value on clothing behavior, to investigate clothing behavior and clothing purchasing behavior of the groups segmented by the value factors and the difference of those between male group and female group and to provide useful information for establishment of marketing strategies. The subjects were 575 university students. A total of 575 questionnaires was analyzed with factor analysis, cluster analysis, ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range test, ${\chi}^2-test$, regression analysis, and correlation analysis. The results were as follows: 1. Value was composed of 2 factors: personal orientation value and social orientation value. Clothing behavior were composed of 9 factors: interest, fashion, statue symbol, individuality, psychological dependence, comfort, aesthetic sense, economical efficiency, and social approval. 2. Clothing behavior and clothing purchasing behavior were significantly different among 3 groups segmented by 2 value factors. 3. The effects of value on clothing behavior was significantly different. 4. The effects of value on clothing behavior, clothing behavior and clothing purchasing behavior between male group and female group were different.

  • This study compares the trend analysis for characteristics of design from 2007 to 2011. According to analyzed results for each year's jean fashion, the 2007's aesthetic feature was a unified and simple design. From 2008 to 2010, the design features were various and rich, and features of 2011 were defined by simplicity with diversity. S/S season's feature were more diverse and balanced than the F/W season. Particularly, washing techniques represent a distinct skill, regardless of season. An analysis of each collection showed that the Paris collection had different and diverse forms; however, it was gorgeous to enjoy the design of a young sense in Milano. London's jean fashion was pale, light, and a dull tone. New York's jean fashion presented a young and practical value to catch other's eyes. There is a need to increase and increase the expectations of customer desire and the high value-added jean fashion industry. New ideas need to be developed for varieties of design and expression of techniques.

  • The Optical Art is based on the principle of visual perception of the illusionary effects which induce psychological responses. It has influenced greatly on the Texile Design in that unique iJlusionary creativity of pattern simulates the visual sense of special movement; the dynamic psylosophy of vitalism. The Optical pattern has become a highly valued item due to its innovative effect in aesthetic direction. According to Vitor Vasarely the pioneer in this area, the integration and the inseparability of form and color which he calls 'Plastic Unity' provides the basis for the composition of infinite variety. The composition of infinite variety. The composition reveals the complex interaction between the space and form relating to order, repetition, combination and permutation. It is not simple to create optical patterns due to the extreme complexity composed by the multi-dimension and the infusion of form and color giving immensely varied movement. The purposes of this study are as follows; 1) to classify the complex processes of optical pattern on the basis of formative method. 2) to develop creative ideas for progressive contemporary textile design In this study, the analysis of applied methods is concentrated, which is based 1) on the gradual modification and on the transformation of the basic plastic elements which depend on thle direction of visual points involVing contradictory perspectives 2) on the composition varied special situations by repeating, overlapping and converging a series of idetUical units or by means of irrdiation, radiation and etc.

  • Character fashion was already turned up in Egyptian age and nowadays was worn to everybody as regardless of ages, level and sex of people. This paper reviewed character fashion and animation character based on USA and Japan that is outstanding more coming up today and compared and analyzed with our country's situation. Usually, character fashion would give imagnation of products and companies themselves for aesthetic sense and can show possessive feeling and personality. And that mean fashion used by character like pictures and signals(that include words figures and special signals) and these fashion using by animation character was come out in 1929. In spite of third producer, Korea, back from USA and Japan about character fashion, we faced many problems. In order to solve these problems, we must make our own pure character that do not need to pay royalty and must spread marketing strategy with character fashion of more various designs. Therefore we should concentrate for raising high quality works and avoid uneconomic investment and plagiarism and finally we must expand recognition concerning character fashion.

  • This study is an indepth analysis of the environment surrounding the evolvement of western make-up culture, its transition during the twentieth century and its cultural characteristics with an aim to analyze people's aesthetic sense during the twentieth century and the western make-up culture which stands as the foremost important measure of its reflection. In order to accomplish this task, I have centered my studies on previous records, documents, articles, magazines, and pictorial data on art and motion pictures all of which involve the art of clothing and make-up. First, 'total fashion' make-up which seeks general harmony of color and figure in order to achieve unified beauty with other elements of beauty such as clothing is emphasized. Second, twentieth century make-up has expressed women's social status and value of each different time culture. Third, make-up has transformed its role from that of expressing only women's beauty to that of expressing resistance and opinion. Fourth, in the midst of material-centered societies spread due to high level of industrialization, development of highly functional make-up(biocosmetics) emerged as people became more conscious of nature and started to aggressively pursue protection.

  • Although Korean first ladies are not very big in changes in their hair style, American first ladies have greatly influenced clothing as well as hair style, exercising their influence over the apparel industry and fashion. Historically, American first ladies' fashion tastes have been on the center of attention and taken the lead in fashion. Although Korea first ladies' hair style are not very new or sensible enough to lead the fashion among the public, they have a sense of fashion and some influence on women of the upper classes. Beauty artists creating first lady hair style are representative of the times and have great value to the research. However, this study will not concentrate on their research. This study will analyze Korea first ladies' hair style, examine hair design and hair technique in fashion in those days. This study intends to provide important materials for Korean beauty history that has not been established by systematically arranging fashion style in the times analyzed through first ladies' hair style. Also, this study aims at researching in the aspect of beauty aesthetic concept through analyzing Korea first ladies' hair style.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the aspect of expression about the form of Shwedagon Pagoda as well as to find out its meanings. The aesthetic value of Shwedagon Pagoda appears as the worship and infinite respect to Buddha realizing its beautiful sacred symbol. The meaning of Shwedagon Pagoda is to progress in keeping pace with the specific flexibility of Buddhism in Myanmar developing Buddhistic diversity and accepting its active changes. As time passes, Shwedagon Pagoda has been transformed. It is because that Myanmar's architecture was developed independently being affected by India with the introduction of Buddhism, and accepted it through autonomous reinterpretation. Then, the function of the worship space surrounding Shwedagon was extended and its annexes and statues of the Buddha were built; its scale became larger. This study shows the comparison between Shwezigon Pagoda and Shwedagon Pagoda. This method of investigation reveals that the formal changes of Shwedagon makes it transform to concise composition and develop aesthetical component giving the sense of vertical rise.

Study on Collage Techniques Applied to Contemporary Fashion (현대패션에 수용된 콜라주의 표현기법에 관한 연구)

  • This study focuses on the application of collage techniques to contemporary fashion and intends to show that collage techniques have a significant influence on contemporary fashion, leading to a more creative design aesthetic through the combination of fashion and art. The author carried out an empirical analysis focusing on domestic and global fashion collections from 2000S/S to 2010F/W, fashion publications, and internet data, along with a literature review. As a result, the papier-colle approach, as represented by cubism, showed a creative surface effect through the texture of the paper itself by applying real paper and other materials directly to the clothing items. Second, Dadaist ready-made expressed a distortion of the material and freedom of expression by creating a collage with ready-made fashion items and daily necessities. Third, a photomontage expressed unique images by printing various images of photos that contrasted in perspective. In addition to this, beauty in dissonance and a new sense of space by a collage of disparate material. Fourth, decalcomanie was expressed by printing methods, giving a stable image of the symmetry of the perfect landscape as well as the unintended effect of coincidence in abstract images and particular textures. Fifth, assemblage as the representative collage technique of pop art introduced the overall object itself or modified form by combining it with fashion to express three-dimensional aggregate structures.
