주요국의 원자력이용개발 정책동향 분석 (An Analysis on Policy Trends of the Use and Development of Nuclear Power in Nuclear Advanced Countries)

  • The policy trends of use and the development of nuclear power in the United States, France, United Kingdom. Germany, Russia, China, Japan and Korea are briefly investigated. Nuclear power technology has been developed as the national policy in the nuclear-advanced countries. 50 years has passed since the declaration of "Atoms for Peace" by USA President Eisenhour in December 1953. Recently, it appears to revitalize the nuclear power program in world major countries in order to recover the shortage of electric power and to curb the excess emission of carbon dioxide as well as to secure competitiveness in electricity markets. Advanced countries are making new initiatives for the development of the fourth generation nuclear power system. Furthermore, wide-ranged use and development of nuclear power technologies are expected in district heating in commercial sectors, power in the space exploration, and propulsion power of large tankers and spaceships. High temperature gas cooled nuclear power reactor will be applied for mass production of hydrogen energy in the future.

On the Use of Maximum Likelihood and Input Data Similarity to Obtain Prediction Intervals for Forecasts of Photovoltaic Power Generation

  • The objective of this study is to propose a method to calculate prediction intervals for one-day-ahead hourly forecasts of photovoltaic power generation and to evaluate its performance. One year of data of two systems, representing contrasting examples of forecast’ accuracy, were used. The method is based on the maximum likelihood estimation, the similarity between the input data of future and past forecasts of photovoltaic power, and on an assumption about the distribution of the error of the forecasts. Two assumptions for the forecast error distribution were evaluated, a Laplacian and a Gaussian distribution assumption. The results show that the proposed method models well the photovoltaic power forecast error when the Laplacian distribution is used. For both systems and intervals calculated with 4 confidence levels, the intervals contained the true photovoltaic power generation in the amount near to the expected one.

  • In the series hybrid active power filter (SHAPF) with magnetic flux compensation (MFC), the system current oscillate in the experimental results when adding the same phase harmonic current command in current control block. This condition endangers the security of the SHAPF. Taking the digit period average arithmetic as example, this paper explains the inter-harmonics current oscillation in the experiment. The conclusion is that the SHAPF is unstable to the inter-harmonics current in theory. Limited by the capacity of the inverter, the system current and the inverter output current do not increase to infinite. At last, some methods are proposed to solve this problem. From the practical viewpoint, the voltage feed-forward control is easy to achieve. It can suppress the current oscillation problems, and also improve the filtering effect. The feasibility of the methods is validated by both the emulation and experiment results.

파동접근법을 이용한 분기된 배관계의 진동 및 파워흐름해석 (Vibraiton and Power Flow Analysis for the Branched Piping System by Wave Approach)

  • In this paper the vibration and power flow analysis for the branched piping system conveying fluid are performed by wave approach. The uniform straight pipe element conveying fluid is formulated using the dynamic stiffness matrix by wave approach. The branched piping system conveying fluid can be easily formulated with considering of simple assumptions of displacements at the junction and continuity conditions of the pipe internal flow. The dynamic stiffness matrix for each uniform straight pipe element can be assembled by using the global assembly technique using in conventional finite element method. The computational method proposed in this paper can easily calculate the forced responses and power flow of the branched piping system conveying fluid regardless of finite element size and modal properties.

On the Design of Power Supply System for Freight Train Reefer Container Based on Simulation

  • In recent years, if we order food by easily accessing the online market with our smartphone, we can receive the product in a fresh state at dawn the next day. Cold chain is an industry that can create high added value because it has both the characteristics of general logistics and sensitivity to temperature. Based on the electrical specifications derived from the reefer container capacity requirement investigation, we proved that power supply to up to 33 reefer containers can be made by using three additional auxiliary power supplies which are applied for freight trains in Korea. In this paper, we conducted a research on a design of power supply system for freight train reefer container based on simulation as a basic research necessary for low-temperature distribution and cold chain construction based on the reefer container railroad. Consequently, the simulation was conducted using the three-phase inverter diagram in PSIM and the SVPWM (3-harmonic injection method) control technique, and it was verified that the required power voltage was satisfied with 622Vdc, which is lower than the input voltage of general SPWM of 718Vdc. The details of this paper could be used as a foundational study for constructing cold chains based on a reefer container dedicated to freight trains in the future.

Reduction of Electromagnetic Field from Wireless Power Transfer Using a Series-Parallel Resonance Circuit Topology

  • In this paper, we implemented and analyzed a wireless power transfer (WPT) system with a CSPR topology. CSPR refers to constant current source, series resonance circuit topology of a transmitting coil, parallel resonance circuit topology of a receiving coil, and pure resistive loading. The transmitting coil is coupled by a magnetic field to the receiving coil without wire. Although the electromotive force (emf) is small (about 4.5V), the voltage on load resistor is 148V, because a parallel resonance scheme was adopted for the receiving coil. The implemented WPT system is designed to be able to transfer up to 1 kW power and can operate a LED TV. Before the implementation, the EMF reduction mechanism based on the use of ferrite and a metal shield box was confirmed by an EM simulation and we found that the EMF can be suppressed dramatically by using this shield. The operating frequency of the implemented WPT system is 30.7kHz and the air gap between two coils is 150mm. The power transferred to the load resistor is 147W and the real power transfer efficiency is 66.4 %.

  • 기존 계통 안정도 평가와 제어의 방법은 전체 계통의 데이터를 취득한 후 평가하고 제어하는 방식으로 이루어져왔다. 하지만 이 방식은 계산 효율 측면과 통신상의 문제로 인해 신뢰성 측면에서 문제가 있다 더욱이 긴급한 상황에서 전압 불안정을 판단하기에는 많은 문제점이 발생한다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 PMU(Phase Measurement Unit)와 같은 측정 장치에서 제공하는 지역정보를 이용한 VIP(테브난 임피던스와 부하 임피던스의 비교 분석하여 제어하는 방법)가 제시되었다. 본 논문에서는 VIP 알고리즘을 이용한 전압 불안정 현상 모의를 실시간 Digital Simulator (Hypersim)를 이용하여 계통을 분석하였다. Hypersim에서는 실제 계통과 유사한 모의를 통해 동적 모의가 가능케 하고 있다. 이것은 동안 실효치 데이터를 기반으로 하는 시간 모의에서 벗어나 실제 계통과 같이 순시치 데이터를 가지고 실제 상황처럼 모의 분석할 수 있는 것이다.

Performance Comparison of the Railway Traction IPM Motors between Concentrated Winding and Distributed Winding

  • This paper presents performance comparison between concentrated winding and distributed winding of IPMSM (Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors) which is recently used for light-weight railway applications. Motors are designed on various schemes and analyzed by using FEM (Finite Element Method) instead of EMCNM (Equivalent Magnetic Circuit Network Method) in order to take into account saturation and non-linear magnetic property. The overall performance such as torque, torque ripple, losses, demagnetization, efficiency, power density and so on are investigated in detail at the rated and maximum operating speed. The results of the analysis found that both concentrated and distributed winding IPMSMs are promising candidates for high power railway traction motor.

  • 단계적 연료방식을 가지는 가스터빈 연소기의 해석을 위한 방법을 제안하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 연료배분방식에 따른 연소기의 연소 및 NOx 발생특성을 규명하였다. 연소기 해석모델은 연소기 내부를 선회기구역, 1차연소구역, 재순환구역, 2차연소구역 및 희석구역으로 나누어 각각의 반응구역을 혼합반응기, 플러그 유동반응기의 모델로서 근사하였다. 반응기내의 연소 및 NOx 생성반응은 천연가스 반응모델과 Zel'dovich 의 NOx 모델을 이용하여 예측하였다. 본 해석방법을 이용하여, 각 반응구역에 유입되는 연료량이 연소기내 연소특성, NOx 발생 특성 및 온도분포에 미치는 영향을 검토하였다. 또한, NOx 저감을 위해 증기분사를 사용하는 경우에 분사위치가 NOx 발생에 미치는 영향을 분석하여, 가스터빈 연소기설계에 필요한 기초자료를 제공하였다.

  • A computer code for solving the 3-D time-dependent multigroup neutron diffusion equation by a coupled reactor kinetics method recently developed has been developed and for evaluating its applicability in CANDU transient analysis applied to a 3-D kinetics benchmark problem which reveals non-uniform loss of coolant accident followed by an asymmetric insertion of shutdown devices. The performance of the method and code has been compared with the CANDU design code, CERBERUS, employing a finite difference improved quasistatic method.
