The adsorption capability of iron phthalocyanine derivatives were investigated by means of X-ray diffractometor (XRD), IR (infrared) spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and temperature programmed desorption (TPD). According to TPD results, iron phthalocyanine derivatives showed two desorption peaks at low temperature ($100{\sim}150^{\circ}C$) and high temperature ($350{\sim}400^{\circ}C$) indicating that there were two kinds of acidities. Tetracarboxylic iron phthalocyanine (Fe-TCPC) have a stronger desorption peak (chemical adsorption) at the high temperature and a weaker desorption peak (physical adsorption) at the low temperature than iron phthalocyanine (Fe-PC). The specific surface areas of Fe-TCPC and Fe-PC were $26.46\;m^2/g\;and\;11.77\;m^2/g$, respectively. The pore volumes of Fe-TCPC and Fe-PC were $0.14\;cm^3/g\;and\;0.06\;cm^3/g$, respectively. The adsorption capability of triethyl amine calculated by breakthrough curve at 220 ppm of equilibrium concentration was 29.2 mmoL/g for Fe-TCPC and 0.8 mmoL/g for Fe-PC. The removal efficiency of dimethyl sulfide of Fe-TCPC and Fe-PC in batch experiment of 225 ppm of initial concentration were 44.9% and 28.9%, respectively. The removal efficiency of trimethyl amine of Fe-TCPC and Fe-PC in batch experiment of 118 ppm of initial concentration were approximately 100.0% and 33.9%, respectively.
In this study, we are trying to verify humidity control capability of the exhibition environment of cultural property by measuring adsorption and desorption performance, the control ability of harmful substances by the adsorption experiments of harmful gases. In the experiment of adsorption and desorption performance, in the low humidity area, Artsorb desorbed overwhelmingly more than activated carbon whereas activated carbon absorbed more. Adsorption speed was faster slightly in Artsorb absorption speed was similar in both. In the middle humidity area, absorption by artsorb was slightly more and desorption was similar in both so characteristic of Artsorb didn't appear. Also, Adsorption speed was faster in activated carbon but in the process of desorption, the speed of Artsorb was faster. In adsorption experiment of harmful substances, the concentration in the environment with activated carbon was lower than one with Artsorb, but the difference appeared small. And as a result of observation of the difference in concentration due to adsorption of harmful gas by the change in the metal specimen, the most change was shown in lead specimen and the color difference between the lead specimens of the activated carbon and Artsorb appeared greatly.
The adsorption capability of cobalt phthalocyanine derivatives was investigated by means of X-ray diffractometor (XRD), FT-IR spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and temperature programmed desorption (TPD). According to TPD results for ammonia, cobalt phthalocyanine derivatives showed two desorption peaks at low temperature ($100{\sim}150^{\circ}C$) and high temperature ($350{\sim}400^{\circ}C$) indicating that there were two kinds of acidities. Tetracarboxylic cobalt phthalocyanine (Co-TCPC) has a stronger desorption peak (chemical adsorption) at high temperature and a weaker desorption peak (physical adsorption) at low temperature than cobalt phthalocyanine (Co-PC). The specific surface areas of Co-TCPC and Co-PC were 37.5 and $18.4m^2/g$, respectively. The pore volumes of Co-TCPC and Co-PC were 0.17 and $0.10cm^3/g$, respectively. The adsorption capability of triethyl amine calculated by breakthrough curve at 120 ppm of equilibrium concentration was 24.3 mmol/g for Co-TCPC and 0.8 mmol/g for Co-PC. The removal efficiencies of dimethyl sulfide of Co-TCPC and Co-PC in batch experiment of 225 ppm of initial concentration were 92 and 18%, respectively. The removal efficiencies of trimethyl amine of Co-TCPC and Co-PC in batch experiment of 118 ppm of initial concentration were 100 and 17%, respectively.
In this study, humidity control ceramics with good adsorption/desorption capabilities and high strength were fabricated from drinking-water treatment sludge (DWTS) and Onggi soil. The DWTS powder heat-treated at $800^{\circ}C$ and Onggi soil were mixed at weight ratios of 40:60, 50:50, 60:40, and 70:30 and fired at $800-1000^{\circ}C$. With increasing DWTS content, density and flexural strength increased. For the sample with a DWTS:Onggi soil weight ratio of 70:30, porosity and specific surface area decreased with increasing firing temperature, attributed to densification and grain growth at high firing temperatures. From the results obtained, a firing temperature of $800^{\circ}C$ is the optimum condition for fabricating humidity control ceramics with good adsorption/desorption capabilities and strength. The maximum adsorbed amount for the sample fired at $800^{\circ}C$ was $439g/m^2$.

Gas adsorption on adsorbents depends on temperatures and pressures. When these parameters are fixed, the adsorption capability and selectivity can not be changed. If the gas adsorption is controlled by another factor like electromagnetic field, the adsorption and desorption can be managed by much intentional way. The microwave has characteristics to excite particular components such as water without destroying it. In this study, microwave was irradiated to the adsorbent of an NaY zeolite which is almost transparent to microwave. As vapor of 1, 1, 2- trichloro-1, 2, 2-trifluoroethane (CFC-113) and water flowed simultaneously on the zeolite packed in a column at room temperature, only water was adsorbed. The . adsorbed water was removed from the zeolite and then replaced by CFC-113, since the microwave was irradiated. Greater the power of microwave was, more CFC-113 was adsorbed. The water adsorption took place again after a latent period by stopping the microwave irradiation.

Metal-carbon nanoreactors (MCNRs) were prepared from a pristine carbon cage (CC) using a simple and efficient template method with nano silica ball (NSB), pyrolysis fuel oil (PFO) and transition metals, such as palladium and gold. Metal nanoparticles were embedded in approximately 25 and 170 nm sized, highly ordered carbon cages. The newly developed Pd, Au and Au-Pd doped carbon nanoreactors were characterized by microanalysis, $N_2$ adsorption-desorption isotherm, powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA), scanning electron microscopy coupled with energy dispersive spectroscopy (SEM-EDS), transmission electron microscopy and inductively coupled plasma (ICP) analysis. The ordered MCNRs have exhibited dynamic hydrogen adsorption capability compared to the carbon cage.

In this study, in order to remove Cd(II) from aqueous solutions, strongly acidic cation exchange resin(SK1B) by Diaion Co. was employed as an adsorbent. Experiments were mainly performed in two parts at room temperature($25{\pm}5^{\circ}C$) : batch tests and adsorption kinetics tests. In batch tests adsorption equilibrium time, pH effects, temperature effects, several adsorption isotherms, and finally desorption tests were examined. In differential bed tests, an optimum flow rate and an overall adsorption rate were obtained. In the batch experiment, adsorption capability increased with pH and became constant above pH 6 and adsorption quantity increased with temperature. Batch experimental data found that Freundlich and Sips adsorption isotherms were more favorable than Langmuir adsorption isotherm over the range of concentration (5~15ppm). The desorbent used in the desorption test was hydrochloric acid solution with different concentrations(0.01~2N). The degree of regeneration increased with concentration of desorbent and decreased slightly with the number of regeneration. In the continuous flow process using a differential bed reactor, the optimum flow rate was $564m{\ell}/min$ above which the film diffusion resistance was minimized. The overall adsorption rate for the removal of Cd(II) by cation exchange resin was found as follows ; $r=1.3785C_{fc}^{1.2421}-2.0907{\times}10^{0.0746C_i}\;q_e^{0.0121C_i-0.0301}$
Hematite iron oxide (${\alpha}$-$Fe_2O_3$) nanowalls were fabricated on aluminum substrate by a facile solvent-assisted hydrothermal oxidation process. The XRD and EDS patterns indicate that the sample has a rhombohedral phase of hematite $Fe_2O_3$. FE-SEM, TEM, HR-TEM, SA-ED were employed to characterize the resulting materials. $N_2$ adsorption-desorption isotherms was used to study a BET surface area. Their capability of catalytic degradation of titan yellow GR azo dye with air oxygen in aqueous solution over $Fe_2O_3$ catalysts was studied. The result indicates that the as-prepared product has a high catalytic activity, because it has a larger surface area. Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms of adsorption dye on the catalysts surface were investigated and the decomposition of titan yellow GR follows pseudo-first order kinetic.

A copper-based metal organic framework (MOF) named Cu-BTC, also known as HKUST-1, was synthesized by using a solvothermal method at various synthesis temperature, time and pressure. The obtained samples were characterized with Powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) for phase structure, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) for crystal structure, and nitrogen adsorption-desorption for pore textural structure. The Cu-BTC sample was also studied for $CO_2$ adsorption. The analysis results displayed that the sample synthesized at the condition of temperature: $120^{\circ}C$, synthesis time: 12 hours, pressure: 1 bar exhibited a good crystal structure with uniform size of octahedral particles. The BET data revealed a high surface area of 1741.7 $m^2g^{-1}$ and a pore volume of 0.7137 $cm^3g^{-1}$and exhibiteda maximum $CO_2$ adsorption capacity of 170 mg/g of the sorbent at $25^{\circ}C$.

Preparation of ferrocyanide-anion exchange resin and adsorption test of the prepared resin on the Cs$^{+}$$ion were performed. Adsorption capability of the prepared resin on the Cs$^{+}$ion in the simulated citric acid based soil decontamination waste solution was 4 times greater than that of the commercial cation exchange resin. Adsorption equilibrium of the prepared resin on the Cs$^{+}$ion reached within 360 minutes. Adsorption capability on the Cs$^{+}$ion became to decrease above the necessary Co$^{2+}$ion concentration in the experimental range. Recycling test of the spent ion exchange resin by the successive application of hydrogen peroxide and hydrazine was also performed. It was found that desorption of Cs$^{+}$ion from the resin occurred to satisfy the electroneutrality condition without any degradation of the resin.
