This study was performed to investigate the hand size growth of Korean adolescents boys. Subjects were between 14 and 19 years (n=352). We collected the right hand size data of 19 measurements from each subject using 3D hand scanner. The total 26 hand measurements were analyzed including seven calculated measurements. Subjects were divided into three age groups (early, middle and late). Their hand size were compared. The results showed that all hand length measurements were significantly difference among age groups. Adolescent boys hands were sharply grown at age 16 years old. The hand dimensions of middle age group were compared with twenties men (n=215). There were significant differences between two groups. The middle age adolescents' hands were shorter and thicker than twenties men. Subjects were also divided by weight and height. Weight and height was closely related to hand size. The heavier and taller subjects had the thicker hand. Their fingers were longer than others. The adolescent boys and twenties men who were taller than the twenties' average height (173.4cm) were compared. Twenties men's hands were longer and thinner than that of adolescent boys. These results imply that the male adolescent hands grow short and thick in the adolescent period. Fingers continuously grow up as a long and thin shape after adolescent period.
The purpose of this study was to systematize accurate data about the body measurements of early adolescent boys, as there was a broad individual variance between their bodies, and it's additionally attempted to identify the unique physical characteristics of different age groups. The subjects in this study were boys who were at the ages of 10 to 14 in the capital area. Their bodies were measured by anthropometric and photographic method, and data on 549 boys were analyzed. The total of 100 items(47 anthropometric items, 10 indexed items and 43 photographic items) were selected to be measured. For data analysis were performed descriptive statistics, ANOVA and Duncan test using SPSS Ver. 10. The results of the study are as follows. According to the result of comparing the body measurements of early adolescent boys, a period of active growth and a period of slow growth were repeated alternately as they aged and the age of active growth tended to get younger.

The main objective of this study is to provide numerical guideline for the development of educational environment about girls in the adolescent period ($14{\sim}16\;years$) through comparison and analysis on physical standards of nation (report published in 1997). The sample for this work was chosen from data which were collected and measured by Size Korea during two years ($2003{\sim}2004$). In order to analyze feature of the somatotype of girls in the adolescent period, analysis was performed about 858 subjects on 22 body parts such as height (6 parts), width (3 parts), thickness (3 parts), circumference (4 parts), length (5 parts) and body weight. For the specific comparison on somatotype, $R\'{o}hrer$ index and Mollison's comparison graph were used. The result of this study enables us to know the important factors which affect the somatotype of girls in the adolescent period ($14{\sim}16\;years$) and will be utilized in various fields such as design of classroom, student uniforms, facilities and equipments for education, etc. According to the result of this study, future research will be focused on not only development of educational facilities but also uniform patterns of female students. In addition, the research on development of equipments which are being used by girls in the adolescent period ($14{\sim}16\;years$) will be another future research.
This research was conducted in order to examine previous studies on paternal parenting methods involving adolescent children in terms of their academic field, research period, method and subjects, and family variables. A total of 104 research publications from the period between 2003 and 2022 were investigated, with 99 quantitative research (43 theses and 56 academic journals) and five qualitative data sources. The analysis results show that the topic of fathers with adolescent children was the most studied in the field of education, and it rapidly increased from 2011 to 2014 and then rapidly decreased from 2019. The main subject of the studies was middle-school students, while most of the studies adopted a quantitative approach, with a minimal number of qualitative studies. Parenting studies were concentrated on father variables and several such studies were found to be related to positive resources such as self-esteem and self-efficacy as variables of adolescent children related to fathers' parenting. The results of these studies provide meaningful implications for future research on the fathers of adolescent children and can be used as basic data for developing detailed education and programs.

Elevated plasma homocysteine is an independent risk factor for the development of cardiovascular disease. Exercise is generally believed to reduce the plasma homocysteine levels and therefore, being beneficial for cardiovascular disease (CVD). However, there is a possibility that athletes undergoing strenuous training and competition which increase oxidative stress may suffer from increased plasma homocysteine levels. The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of endurance training on the plasma concentrations of B vitamins and homocysteine in 23 male adolescent field hockey players. Data collection and blood sampling was performed during the training period and non-training period. Following the training period, significant changes in energy and vitamin B6 intakes were observed in these subjects. Plasma vitamin B2, pyridoxal phosphate (PLP) and homocysteine levels were significantly higher during the training period than non-training period, whereas no difference was observed in plasma folate and vitamin B12 levels. Positive correlation was observed between plasma folate and folic acid intakes. When energy, B vitamin intakes were adjusted there was a significant negative correlation between plasma homocysteine levels and plasma riboflavin, folate and vitamin B12 levels. In conclusion, it is suggested that athletes with oxidative stress by strenuous exercise may need B vitamins since riboflavin, folic acid and vitamin Bl2 were shown to be negatively correlated with plasma homocysteine in athletes during the training period.
It was orginally thought that runaway adolescents needed to improve their ability to cope with personal problems based on their own understanding of them. As a result we exchanged theoretical background on the matter as follows: 1. Generally, adolescency is a transitional period from childhood to adulthood and characterized by a dramatic conversion period with unique phenomena relative to other periods. Futhermore, it is the key transitional moment in the development of an adult personality. 2, Runaway adolescents are defined as 'adolescents who leave impulsively or intentionally their homes without permission of their parents for at least 24 hours.' 3. The reasons for this behavior are generally regarded as complex, interdependent and dynamic including a cast-away factor. seducing factors, and other action-provoking factors. There is also another view to explain the adolescent run-away as a combination of personal. domestic, academic, peer, or socal factors. 4. We found that adolescent runaways have different attitudes dependent on the reasons and procedures of runaways, lifestyles of adolescents. and results of their runaway experience. In conclusion, runaway adolescents are in a very important period in their development and growth of bodies and minds, but are in a great crisis for various complex reasons. Therefore, we propose that nursing should provide effective nursing interventions to improve the ability of the runaway adolescents address theses problems by themselves.

South Korea is changing into a multi-cultural society, due to an increase in international marriage, foreign workers and transcultural immigration. In addition, the number of North Korean defectors entering South Korea has increased and now, there are approximately 25000. Therefore, this review have focused on a research that pertains to adaptation and mental health concerns of their children. Children who have immigrated themselves or whose parents have immigrated, might experience language barriers, difficulties in school adjustment, identity confusion and mental health problems. However, their academic performance and developmental status are known to be variable and be affected by socioeconomic status and their parents' educational level. Studies that evaluated the psychological problems of North Korean adolescent refugees' indicated the need for interests in both emotional and behavioral problems. The risk factors of North Korean adolescent refugees' mental health are suggested to be past traumatic experiences, long duration of defection and short period of adaptation. When mental health professionals provide assessment and treatment, they should consider the pre- and post-migration experiences & cultural background that affect the illness behaviors and attitudes toward mental illnesses. Lastly, the majority of children with multi-cultural background are still under an adolescent period and we should follow up with long-term perspectives.
Prenatal nicotine exposure over an entire pregnancy has been associated with an increased prevalence of hyperactivity, anxiety-like behavior and depression-like behavior in mature rats. However, the effects of maternal nicotine exposure in late gestation and lactation on the psychology and behavior of adolescent rat offspring are unclear. Thus, we investigated the effect of nicotine exposure during late gestation and lactation on anxiety-like and impulsive decision-making behavior in adolescent offspring of rat. Female rats were orally exposed to nicotine which is within range of plasma level of human chronic smokers during the period of third last period of gestation and lactation. When the offspring were weaned, we observed alterations in the anxiety-like behavior and decision-making ability of adolescent rat offspring using light/dark box test and T-maze delay-based cost-benefit decision-making task. The maternal consumption of nicotine reduced both the time spent in the light compartment and the number of transitions compared to nicotine-free rats. Moreover, such nicotine exposed adolescent offspring rats showed impulsive decision making which chose the instant reward in a decision-making situation. We found that nicotine exposure during late gestation and lactation induces an increase in anxiety-like and impulsive decision-making behavior at this developmental stage. These findings suggest that maternal nicotine-exposed offspring are at an increased risk of developing anxious and impulsive behavior.
