An Exploratory Study on the Characteristics of Nurse Administrators - Focused on Personality, Job Satisfaction and Work Appropriateness - (병원행정직 간호사의 특성에 관한 탐색적 연구 - 성격, 직무만족, 업무적합성 인식을 중심으로 -)

  • Objective: This study was performed to find out the characteristics of nurse administrators and the relationships among their personality types, administrative work appropriateness and job satisfaction. Methods: Participants were 112 nurse administrators who had worked for more than 1 year in a hospital administrative position in Seoul and Gyeonggi area. Data were collected form April 14 to Jun 17, 2016, using questionnaires. For the analysis, SPSS WIN 20.0 program was used. Results: Personality types are related to job satisfaction and administrative work appropriateness. Among big-5 personality types, the neurotic level is negatively related to job satisfaction. However, extroversion is positively related. For the appropriateness of administrative work, the way of transfer and working department show no significant relations but age shows significant relation. The influence of age needs further study. Conclusion: The personalty types are related to nurse administratorsʼ job satisfaction and administrative work appropriateness.

A Study on the Work Type of Machine Learning Administrative Service in Metropolitan Government (광역자치단체의 기계학습 행정서비스 업무유형에 관한 연구 -서울시를 중심으로-)

  • The background of this study is that machine learning administrative services are recently attracting attention as a major policy tool for non-face-to-face administrative services in the post-corona era. This study investigated the types of work expected to be effective when introducing machine learning administrative services for Seoul Metropolitan Government officials who are piloting machine learning administrative services. The research method is a machine that can be introduced by organizational unit by distributing and collecting questionnaires for Seoul administrative organizations that have performed machine learning-based administrative services for one month in July 2020 targeting Seoul public officials using machine learning-based administrative services. By analyzing the learning administration service and application service, the business characteristics of each machine learning administration service type such as supervised learning work type, unsupervised learning work type, and reinforced learning work type were analyzed. As a result of the research analysis, it was found that there were significant differences in the characteristics of administrative tasks by supervised and unsupervised learning areas. In particular, it was found that the reinforcement learning domain contains the most appropriate business characteristics for machine learning administrative services. Implications were drawn. The results of this study can be provided as a reference material to practitioners who want to introduce machine learning administration services, and can be used as basic data for research to researchers who want to study machine learning administration services in the future.

System Implementation Plan for Applying Spatial Information to Road Occupation Permit Administrative Works (도로점용허가 행정업무에 공간정보 활용을 위한 시스템 구축방안)

  • Most of the administrative works are executed based on the address. Therefore, spatial information is an essential factor for administrative works. So far, many systems, which apply spatial information to administrative works, have been implemented. However, there is little approach to apply spatial information to road occupation permit works. In this paper, we introduce system implementation plan for applying spatial information to road occupation permit administrative works. System implementation plan includes work analysis, applying scenarios extraction, system function extraction, and datamart construction plans. First, work processes and activities are defined based on the analysis of work handbook. Also, activities are displayed in diagram. Second, scenarios applying spatial information to road occupation permit works are extracted. Third, we derive service functions for system, which realize work processes and applying scenarios. Finally, spatial information datamart construction plan is established. Proposed system implementation plan in this research includes application architecture and part of data architecture. For implementing the system, plan for hardware and software architecture should be studied.

A Perceived Causal Structural Model on Work-based Stressor of Clinical Nurse (임상간호사의 업무스트레스요인에 관한 인지적 인과구조모형)

  • Purpose: The purposes are to identify the factors that influence work-based stressor experienced by clinical nurses and to provide a perceived causal structural model among these factors. Method: Data was collected and analyzed in 2 steps to apply a perceived causal structure : network analysis which was developed by Kelley(1983). Results: 1. The extracted causes from qualitative data were identified 10 categories ; over loaded work, relative feelings of deprived, inefficient duty schedule, negative attitudes of patient, burden of extra affair, inadequate administrative support, negative attitudes of physician, conflict with other personnels in hospital, lack of professional knowledge and skill, nursing service marketing burden. 2. Construction of the perceived causal structural model ; 1) The most central cause is over loaded work and the distal causes were inadequate administrative support, lack of professional knowledge and skill in the systems of causation. 2) The causes that have a number of outgoing link were over loaded work, inadequate administrative support, negative attitudes of physician. 3) The cause that have a number of incoming link was relative feelings of deprived. Conclusion: The network suggests that the first centre cause was related on over loaded work.

  • The fishermen around fishing villages have organized the Eo Chon Gae, a co-operative organization based on the Fisheries Co-operative Law. The Eo chon Gae plays a vital role in the fishing village community, and the common economic, administrative and social profits are expected by members. The members of the Eo Chon Gae must work together in a common coastal fishing ground, this fishing ground is jointly owned by the community, and the members have to conduct the Eo chon Gae jointly for their common profit. This system, as mentioned above, is called the Eo Chon Gae, which is generally called a fishing village community, or a fishing administrative community. The purpose of these theses is to consider what kind of character and principles the Eo Chon Gae has. The contents of these theses are divided into six parts: 1. The various concepts of the fishing administrative community 2. The progress of the Eo Chon Gae. 3. The organization of the Eo chon Gae. 4. The purpose of the Eo chon Gae. 5.   • Administrative information datasets are a kind of record produced based on an organization's work performance. A dataset is evidence of the act of recording and contains a lot of information that can be used for work. Datasets have been neglected in Korea's records management system. However, as the law was revised in 2020, the management of administrative information datasets was legislated. Organizations that require management of administrative information datasets have already gradually begun record management. The core of managing administrative information datasets is the preparation of the Management Reference Table for the dataset. Regardless, there is confusion with the Records Management Reference Table for Dataset in institutions that work on records management, and it is difficult to work because the Management Reference Table for Dataset has a new concept. This study looked into the problems in the records management of datasets that appeared at the beginning of work. It isuggests a method to effectively settle records management for datasets. In that way, the Management Reference Table was selected as the research subject, and the problems discussed so far were summarized. In addition, the items of the current Management Reference Table were analyzed. As a result of the study, we have proposed the simplification of items in the Management Reference Table, the reorganization of areas in the Management Reference Table, the introduction of the concept of retention periods, and the preparation process of the Management Reference Table.

Factors Affecting the Organizational Citizenship Behaviors of Administrative Hospital Staff Members (종합병원 행정직원의 조직시민행동 영향요인)

  • This paper reports the results of descriptive research aimed at determining the effects of the administrative hospital staff members' organization-based self-esteem and work engagement on their organizational citizenship behaviors. The participants of the study were 200 administrative staff members of general hospitals, each with 200 beds or more, located in B city. Data were collected from March 15 to 30, 2017, and analyzed statistically using a t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis. The findings of this study can be summarized as follows. The organizational citizenship behaviors differed significantly according to whether they had an experience of turnover (t=-4.260, p=.000) and how long they had served at their present work (t=3.297, p=.039). In addition, the organizational citizenship behaviors had strong positive correlations with the organization-based self-esteem (r=.454, p=<.000) and work engagement (r=.595, p<.000). In addition, the factor that explained the organizational citizenship behaviors most significantly was work engagement, followed by organization-based self-esteem and the period of service at the present work. All three factors accounted for 41% of those behaviors. These findings suggest that the hospital should perform internal marketing or improve its welfare system to make administrative staff members raise their self-esteem based on their organization. Moreover, the hospital should form an organizational culture of its own, in which administrative staff members feel the importance of their job, enjoy it and are given autonomy in job performance, ultimately contributing to the development of hospital management.

Factors Affecting Work Performance During the COVID-19 Pandemic: An Empirical Study from Indonesia

  • The purpose of this study is to assess the impact of the principal's democratic leadership style, teacher competency, work discipline, and work environment on teacher performance during the pandemic. Using the proportional random sampling strategy, a sample of 468 respondents consisted of kindergarten teachers, elementary school teachers, junior high school teachers, junior high school teachers, and high school/vocational school teachers. The study revealed that the principal's democratic leadership style, teacher competence, work discipline, and work environment substantially impact teacher performance. However, the principal's democratic leadership style does not affect teacher performance, whereas teacher competence, work discipline, and work environment have a minor impact on teacher performance. Furthermore, during the COVID-19 pandemic, work discipline is the most critical variable influencing teacher performance. The findings of this study suggest that the principal's democratic leadership style, teacher competence, work discipline, and work environment have a positive impact on teacher performance during the pandemic. During the COVID-19 pandemic, work discipline is the most important variable influencing teacher performance. Considering that democratic leadership has no effect on teacher performance and that this leadership style is widely used by school principals in the world of education, it is assumed that there is no effect on teacher performance.

The Effects of Job Stress on Child Care Teachers' Burnout: The Mediating Effect of Career Calling (직무스트레스가 보육교사의 소진에 미치는 영향: 소명의식의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • Objective: The purpose of the present study was to examine the mediating role of career calling in the relationship between job stress and burnout as well as the association among job stress, career calling, and burnout. Methods: A sample of three-hundred and seven child care teachers in the metropolitan area of Seoul completed questionnaires on job stress, career calling, and burnout. Results: Correlation and regression analyses indicated that lack of directors' leadership and administrative support, work overload, and career calling significantly predicted child care teachers' burnout. Moreover, the association of lack of directors' leadership and administrative support of burnout was mediated by career calling. Conclusion/Implications: The findings suggest that directors' leadership and seamless administrative support need to be emphasized in order to reduce burnout and mitigate work-related stress among child care teachers. The findings also highlight the important role of career calling in reducing burnout among child care teachers and suggest the consideration of career calling as a target in interventions and educational programs.

RESEARCH OF THE BEST TIMING FOR GOVERNMENT'S TERMINATION OF FREEWAY REPAIR WORK CONTRACT

  • Normally, monetary penalties for breach of agreement will be stipulated in the contract. The contractor parties, who fail to fulfill the agreement, are required to pay the other parties a certain amount or proportion of money as a fine. However, it is worth our study - whether or not the scope of monetary penalty implementation and bases for determination of a fine will cover the losses of social and administrative costs incurred by the interruption of the contract. This research is about the best timing for government to cancel the freeway repair work contracts. Under the goal of the maximum social welfare, the limitation of government spending for the social and administrative costs invoked by interruption of contracts will have to be considered to attain the best timing of contracts' suspension or deferment. According to the factors of social and administrative costs, the best time point is calculated to reduce the loss of the aforesaid costs, which can also be used as theoretical basis for the future road-widening construction at home.
