  • A new PCD (Pitch Circle Diameter) adjustment system has been designed in this study. Traditional system requires repetitive same works in changing automobile tires. The system proposed in this study requires just one simultaneous work to finish the job. We designed the system using Solidworks CAD software. We further investigate the jobs for both cases through work factor method. Based on careful clarification of the job, work factor units were assigned to each work factor. Even if further analysis should be processed for actual field application, the mechanism proposed in this study may provide good reference for practical usage.

  • In this paper, using the formulation of dynamic equivalent load considering the effects of moment load and the equation to estimate the cage rotational speed, the new life equation of deep groove ball bearing under radial and moment loads was proposed. Fatigue life test apparatus with the measuring equipment of shaft and cage speed was designed and developed to be capable of subjecting combined radial and moment load. Fatigue life tests were executed by sudden death test method and the reliability of fatigue lives was evaluated by Weibull distribution analysis. From the results of fatigue tests and analysis, the relationships between film parameters and life adjustment factors were acquired. And it was turned out that so as to estimate the effect of moment load on fatigue life, the life adjustment factor as well as the dynamic equivalent load must be taken into account.

  • Revenue management (RM) has been widely used to model products characterized as perishable. Classical RM model assumed that price is the sole factor in the model. Thus price adjustment becomes a crucial and costly factor in business. In this paper, an optimal pricing model is developed based on minimization of soft customer cost, one kind of price adjustment cost and is solved by Lagrange multiplier method. It is formed by expected discounted revenue/bid price integrating quantity-based RM and pricing-based RM. Quantity-based RM consists of two capacity models, namely, booking limit and overbooking. Booking limit, built by assuming uncertain customer arrival, decides the optimal capacity allocation for two market segments. Overbooking determines the level of accepted order exceeding capacity to anticipate probability of cancellation. Furthermore, pricing-based RM models occupancy/demand rate influenced by internal and competitor price changes. In this paper, a mathematical model based on game theoretic approach is developed for two conditions of deterministic and stochastic demand. Based on the equilibrium point, the best strategy for both hotels can be determined.

  • Objectives: The school adjustment problems of the adolescence groups become more aggravated and are on the increase. The objective of this study is to identify the causal relationship of intra-family conflicts, self-concept and school adjustment as health protection behavior. Methods: The study setting is the adolescence groups. Data were collected by self-administered questionnaires from the middle and high school students in Seoul. The study sample consisted of 268 students. Structural Equation Modeling(SEM) analysis was conducted to find the causal relationship of intra-family conflicts, self-concept and school adjustment. Results: This study shows that firstly, the total effects of intra-family conflicts have a negative effect on self-concept(path coefficients=-0.080) and school adjustment(path coefficients=-0.107). And the self-concept factor as an intervening variable are affecting positively on school adjustment(path coefficients=0.411). Secondly, the economic conflicts, personaliy conflicts and social activity conflicts of father and mother among various family conflicts are more highly affecting on self-concept and school adjustment(p<0.01) Conclusions: These results imply that first, communication between parents and students is essential to solve the problems of school adjustment. Especially economic conflicts should be solved to improve the self-concept and school adjustment. second, a variety of programs are available for schools to employ in an effort to provide interventions for students who demonstrate school adjustment. Finally, it is necessary for family, school and all the society members to comprehensively cooperate to solve family conflicts and school adjustment.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate whether there is a moderating effect of protective factors on risk factors in affecting school adjustment of immigrant youths. For this purpose, this study analyzed 69,720 youths who weighed 6,079 children of youths ages 9-24 among the 2015 National Survey of Multicultural Families. From the results of the analysis, first, the discrimination experience, school violence and depression, which are risk factors of immigrant youths, all had negative effects on school adjustment. Parental relations, self-esteem, Korean language ability, and nationality acquisition, which are protective factors, all had a positive effect on school adjustment. Second, among the three risk factors in the school adjustment of immigrant youths, self-esteem and nationality acquisition variables were analyzed as the protective factors moderating depression, and the protective factors controlling school violence were analyzed as parental relationship, self-esteem, Korean ability and nationality acquisition variables. Based on the results of the analysis, decrease in immigrant youths' depression, coping with academic violence, and development and support of various competency development programs were suggested as major social welfare practices.

  • In this paper, the fatigue life of a laser peened structure was predicted. In order to calculate residual stress induced by laser peening finite element simulation was carried out. Modified Goodman equation was used to consider the effect of compressive residual stress induced by laser peening in fatigue analysis. In addition, additive adjustment factor approach was applied to consider S-N curve model uncertainty. Consequently, the reliable bounds of the predicted fatigue life of the laser peened structure was determined.

  • Soil erosion is detrimental to sustain soil productivity in north Korea, since agriculture of this country depends largely upon the slope land in mountainous area. Taking any measure for protection from erosion should be based on prediction of soil loss. Estimation of rainfall factor, R, in north Korea for the Universal Soil Loss Equation was attempted. The monthly precipitation data of the twenty six locations provided by the Korean Meteorological Adminstration were used. From the relationship between II_30 and the July-August precipitation concentration percents, the regional adjustment factor was obtained. The rainfall factor was calculated with the monthly precipitation data and the regional adjustment factor. The annual precipitation in north Korea ranged from 606 to 1,520mm, and the July-August precipitation concentration percents were 34.4 to 53.8. The regional adjustment factor ranged from 0.53 to 1.33 showing lower value in the highland and east coastal region than in the mid mountainous inland and west region. The R-factor value estimated from the monthly precipitation and the regional adjustment factor ranged from 107 to 483, which was lower than average value in south Korea.
