  • This study investigated the characteristics of architectural planning in the youth training centers, which were introduced to the magazines from 2000 to 2010. The result are as followings. Firstly, the youth training centers were located mainly in general residential area, that the youth could be easily accessible. And, it were located mainly in green natural area, which is adjacent to the mountain or park. The site area of the youth training center was analyzed to approximately $10,000m^2$ below. Secondly, the placement and the form of the youth training center is divided two types, which are a single and two buildings type. A single building case is found the type of 'ㄴ' and 'ㄷ' shape, and two buildings case is found the type of 'ㄴ + ㅡ', 'opened ㅁ', 'ㅡ + ㅡ' shape. It is found mostly the type of 'ㄷ' shape. Thirdly, the youth training center is planned mostly with fifth stories above ground and three underground levels. And, sometimes it is planned a mixed-use buildings with a sports center, community center and senior welfare center. Lastly, the space of youth training center is zoned horizontally for each mass of building, which is planned the educational, cultural and sports facilities. And, it is zoned vertically some of the sports facilities and administrative support facilities in the underground, and a educational and cultural facilities on the ground.

  • Recently, Fire watching and dangerous substances monitoring system has been being developed to enhance various fire related security. It is generally assumed that fire flame extraction plays a very important role on this monitoring system. In this study, we propose the fire flame extraction method of Non-Residential Facilities based on core object extraction in image. A core object is defined as a comparatively large object at center of the image. First of all, an input image and its decreased resolution image are segmented. Segmented regions are classified as the outer or the inner region. The outer region is adjacent to boundaries of the image and the rest is not. Then core object regions and core background regions are selected from the inner region and the outer region, respectively. Core object regions are the representative regions for the object and are selected by using the information about the region size and location. Each inner region is classified into foreground or background region by comparing its values of a color histogram intersection of the inner region against the core object region and the core background region. Finally, the extracted core object region is determined as fire flame object in the image. Through experiments, we find that to provide a basic measures can respond effectively and quickly to fire in non-residential facilities.

  • As of 2016, Incheon Metropolitan City's cremation ratio was 91.2%, which is the second highest among all metropolitan municipalities nationwide (Busan Metropolitan City: 92.0%). In addition, the number of cremation at the outside of the jurisdiction has been steadily increasing since 2014. It is analyzed that the number of cremation at the inside of the jurisdiction is 16,004, which is 67.3% of total number of cremation, and the number of cremation at the outside of the jurisdiction is 7,779, which is 32.7%. We would like to suggest the following policy suggestions to solve the problems caused by the increase in cremation demand. First, the number of operations of cremation in public facilities located in Gyeonggi-do adjacent to Incheon Metropolitan City is needed to be increased. Second, the extension of the time limit for the use of cremation facilities of the dead people at the outside of the jurisdiction is needed. Third, the charge for cremation at the outside of the jurisdiction has to be increased. Fourth, improvement measures such as relaxation of residency requirements for deaths at the inside of the jurisdiction, who used the public facilities in Incheon Metropolitan City, should be undertaken.

  • Technical countermeasures against debris flow should be established upon the risk level of the target location. Risk of debris flow should consider the hazard imposed by debris flow and vulnerability of the facilities to debris flow. In this research, we have defined the target location for risk evaluation and suggested scoring method of hazard of debris flow and vulnerability of road to debris flow. By defining risk rank into 6 categories in terms of possibility of damage during rainfall and using the risk scores of 46 debris flow cases, we have suggested risk ranking matrix. The method can be used in ranking the drainage basin adjacent to road by simply determining the hazard with vulnerability score and can be used for planning the debris flow countermeasures.

  • In the study, we show the annual average increasing rate of death bodies in the capital area was 2.1% while the annual average increasing rate of cremated bodies was 4.5%. As the annual average increasing rate of cremated bodies was about 2.1 times higher than the annual average increasing rate of death bodies, the increase rate of cremated bodies contrast to the increase rate of death bodies was relatively high. Also, the cremation rate of the capital area was increased by 9.5% from 80.3% in 2011 to 89.8% in 2017 while the increase rate of cremated bodies was 27.2%(N=21,694 people) from 79,866 people in 2011 to 101,560 people in 2017. Thus, the increase rate of cremated bodies contrast to the increase of cremation rate of the capital area was relatively very high. On the basis of 2017, the utilization rate of public cremation facilities in by capital area was 94.5% in Incheon Metropolitan City, 91.1% in Seoul Metropolitan City, and 20.9% in Gyeonggi-do, which showed huge differences in the utilization rate of public cremation facilities in the jurisdiction area of by capital area. Focusing on the actual state shown in the results of this study above, it would be necessary for Seoul Metropolitan City to carry forward a supply & demand policy of cremation facilities through the extension of cremation furnaces, for Gyeonggi-do to carry forward a policy to build the public cremation facilities focusing on the basic local government in the jurisdiction area, and for Incheon Metropolitan City to enforce the measures for the joint use of cremation facilities with the basic local government in the adjacent Gyeonggi-do jurisdiction area in order to improve the efficiency of the operation of cremation facilities.

  • In this research, the usage status and characteristics of user big data of Mobike, a dockless bike sharing service introduced in Suwon city, were analyzed, and multiple regression analysis was performed to identify factors influencing the demand for dockless bike sharing service. For analysis, usage data of bike sharing system in Suwon city in 2019 were obtained, and they were organized by areas. As a result of analyzing the characteristics of the influencing factors selected for each area, it was found that the extension of bicycle roads shows high in areas with high demand for bicycles or adjacent areas. Also, the population of 10-30's shows high in areas with high demand for bicycles or adjacent areas. In addition, it was analyzed that the use of bike sharing system is high in areas with high maintenance rate of bicycle roads and large-scale residential and commercial facilities near residential districts and adjacent areas. As a result of the multiple regression analysis, it is analyzed that length of bicycle·pedestrian roads (non-separated), population of 10-30's, number of railway stations, number of schools, number of commercial facilities, number of industrial facilities factors were significant. It is expected that it may be possible to create an environment in which citizens want to use dockless bike sharing service by identifying factors affecting the number of stationless shared bicycles. Also, the results of data analysis are considered to be contributing to policy data to promote the use of dockless bike sharing.

  • This project is the 1st. stage for the foreshore reclamation at Jang-Hang area and its scope is to construct a seawall as outer facilities, road adjacent to the seawall and drainage gate. for the safe protections of the facilities at the reclaimed land hereafter, we adopted the mild slope rubble mound type for the seawall structure which was excellent in interrupting the wave overtopping, as a result of numerical & hydraulic model test about alternative 4 sections. For the flooding prevention of the reclaimed land, we planned the drainage system that could make the flood water level lower than the reclaimed land level. Also, we planned the eco-friendly waterfront area with 8 nature themes through the whole seawall sections.

  • The seismic sequence which hit the Northern Italian territory in 2012 produced extensive damage to reinforced concrete (RC) precast buildings typically adopted as industrial facilities. The considered damaged buildings are constituted by one-storey precast structures with RC columns connected to the ground by means of isolated socket foundations. The roof structural layout is composed of pre-stressed RC beams supporting pre-stressed RC floor elements, both designed as simply supported beams. The observed damage pattern, already highlighted in previous earthquakes, is mainly related to insufficient connection strength and ductility or to the absence of mechanical devices, being the connections designed neglecting seismic loads or neglecting displacement and rotation compatibility between adjacent elements. Following the vulnerabilities emerged in past seismic events, the paper investigates the seismic performance of industrial facilities typical of the Italian territory. The European building code seismic assessment methodologies are presented and discussed, as well as the retrofit interventions required to achieve an appropriate level of seismic capacity. The assessment procedure and retrofit solutions are applied to a selected case study.

  • Nuclear-related facilities can be detrimentally affected by ground vibrations due to the collapse of adjacent cooling towers in nuclear power plants. To reduce this hazard risk, a design-oriented acceleration response spectrum (ARS) was proposed to predict the dynamic responses of nuclear-related facilities subjected to ground vibrations. For this purpose, 20 computational cases were performed based on cooling tower-soil numerical models developed in previous studies. This resulted in about 2664 ground vibration records to build a basic database and five complementary databases with consideration of primary factors that influence ground vibrations. Afterwards, these databases were applied to generate the design-oriented ARS using a response spectrum analysis approach. The proposed design-oriented ARS covers a wide range of natural periods up to 6 s and consists of an ascending portion, a plateau, and two connected descending portions. Spectral parameters were formulated based on statistical analysis. The spectrum was verified by comparing the representative acceleration magnitudes obtained from the design-oriented ARS with those from computational cases using cooling tower-soil numerical models with reasonable consistency.
