  • As a technique for high-quality multimedia service in down-link, the transmit diversity schemes using a orthogonal space-time block codes were proposed. But if the number of transmit antenna is three or more, it was impossible to obtain full diversity gain because of the decline of spectral efficiency. Accordingly, the quasi-orthogonal space-time block code that not required a additional bandwidth was proposed. But using a space-time block codes, the transmit diversity schemes were verified over quasi-static and frequency non-selective channels. Therefore, in this paper, we analyze the performance of OFDM systems, which a frequency selective channel equalized a frequency non-selective channel, adapting the quasi-orthogonal space-time block code, and compare they to the conventional orthogonal space-time block coded OFDM systems.

  • Many filtered CCD measures form the basis of six new light curves of the eclipsing system SW Lyn. From these measures and additional observations for eclipse timing, 47 new times of minimum light over the time-interval of about 13 years have been calculated. The complex period variability can be sorted into a linear period improvement with 5.8-year and 33.9-year periodic terms. The shorter cyclic term of these is ascribed to a cool companion of the eclipsing pair but the longer one has no testable interpretation at present. The new light curves are synthesized by the 2003 version of the Wilson-Devinney differential corrections computer code. The results incorporate a source of "third light" which comes from the cool companion star that had been identified by the cycling of the period of the eclipsing pair and also had previously been identified spectroscopically. There is a measure of satisfaction with current understanding of the SW Lyn eclipsing system because of consistent syntheses of all historical light curves. This agreeable convergence, however, comes partly at the expense of an unanticipated temperature of the hot star and of a photospheric spot that has no obvious basis in the detached character modeled for the binary. We offer predictions of changes in the stellar parameters if the modeled detached-configuration should be wrong. The SW Lyn stellar system is still difficult to understand.

  • Solar wind density depletions are phenomena that solar wind density is rapidly decreased and keep the state. They are generally believed to be caused by the interplanetary (IP) shocks. However, there are other cases that are hardly associated with IP shocks. We set up a hypothesis for this phenomenon and analyze this study. We have collected the solar wind parameters such as density, speed and interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) data related to the solar wind density depletion events during the period from 1996 to 2013 that are obtained with the advanced composition explorer (ACE) and the Wind satellite. We also calculate two pressures (magnetic, dynamic) and analyze the relation with density depletion. As a result, we found total 53 events and the most these phenomena's sources caused by IP shock are interplanetary coronal mass ejection (ICME). We also found that solar wind density depletions are scarcely related with IP shock's parameters. The solar wind density is correlated with solar wind dynamic pressure within density depletion. However, the solar wind density has an little anti-correlation with IMF strength during all events of solar wind density depletion, regardless of the presence of IP shocks. Additionally, In 47 events of IP shocks, we find 6 events that show a feature of blast wave. The quantities of IP shocks are weaker than blast wave from the Sun, they are declined in a short time after increasing rapidly. We thus argue that IMF strength or dynamic pressure are an important factor in understanding the nature of solar wind density depletion. Since IMF strength and solar wind speed varies with solar cycle, we will also investigate the characteristics of solar wind density depletion events in different phases of solar cycle as an additional clue to their physical nature.

  • Let V be a Euclidean Jordan algebra with a symmetric cone K. We show that for a Z-transformation L with the additional property L(K) ⊆ K (which we will call ’cone-preserving’), GUS ⇔ strictly copositive on K ⇔ monotone + P. Specializing the result to the Stein transformation SA(X) := X - AXAT on the space of real symmetric matrices with the property $S_A(S^n_+){\subseteq}S^n_+$, we deduce that SA GUS ⇔ I ± A positive definite.

  • Existing data structures for non-manifold solid modelers use basic dat entities, such as vertex, edge, loop, face, shell, and region to find adjacency relationships. But, no one clearly identified what additional types of data entitles are necessary to represent incidence relationships. In this paper, we classified the boundary information of vertex, edge, face , and region from the 3-D space view. As the results we can clearly define the boundary information required for adjacency relationships. The existing B-rep data structures for solid modeler are compared whether they have the required boundary information.

  • In this paper, we propose and developed a keyglove using the touch-typing method as new solutions to the problem of text input into the mobile computing devices. This device recognizes that character is typed in though the hand's movements analysis and requires no additional space on a person's desktop or work surface, and can be easily used with computers of any size, even the smallest mobile computer, and is designed as an input device for wearable computers and virtual environment. The concept of the wearable input device based on human hand-molies recognition.

  • This paper presents a method for procedure-based on-line program replacement for user applications. To deal with the size change in the procedure to replace, the method uses the unmapped area of process address space for mapping a new version of procedure. The method is effective in that and it does not cause large performance loss during the replacement or require any additional software layer for the replacement. The method is illustrated in the SUN Solaris environment.

  • The purpose of this study is to show that the accuracy of the interpolation method can be at least doubled when additional smoothness requirements and boundary conditions are met. In particular, as a basis function, we are interested in using a conditionally positive definite function $\Phi$ whose generalized Fourier transform is of the form $\Phi(\theta)\;=\;F(\theta)$\mid$\theta$\mid$^{-2m}$ with a bounded function F > 0.

  • Let X be a real Banach space and $A:X{\rightarrow}2^X$ be an $\alpha$-strongly accretive operator. It is proved that if the duality mapping J of X satisfies Condition (I) with additional conditions, then the Ishikawa and Mann iteration processes with errors converge strongly to the unique solution of operator equation $z{\in}Ax$. In addition, the convergence of the Ishikawa and Mann iteration processes with errors for $\alpha$-strongly pseudo-contractive operators is given.
