Evaluation of Functionality and Added Value Factors to the Usage of Mobile Telecommunication Services

  • Purpose - This study aims to provide a brief understanding of usability and its extended models with TAM as well as identifying additional determinants that had been suggested in previous studies on mobile services. Research design, data, and methodology - Empirical data were collected by conducting a field survey of potential mobile application service users. The call for participation was also made in mobile related application issues, which were widely discussed. Result - The ease of use and usefulness had a significantly positive influence on attitude and intention. It also was revealed that added value services can offer practical value to customers. Thus, positive attitudes toward the adoption of services by customers are present when they perceive higher usefulness and ease of use of mobile application services. Conclusion - It was indicated that customers who are more inclined to try new products or who have a higher demand for new things tend to think about those functionalities and added value mobile application services from the perspective of usefulness and ease of use and operation.

  • Recently, foreign utilities emphasize the importance of the value-added services based on Information Technology(IT) as one of the strategic technologies for establishing a new power system in the future digital society. They develop many different types of the value-added services and apply the systems for customer. In domestic case, the data from the Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) System is used only for calculating the tariffs. Data from the AMR system can be strategic assets for utilities to provide the value-added services for customer. Development of the value-added services for utilities and customer needs processing and managing the AMR data. In this paper, the energy consulting service, which is adequate to new power system environment, is suggested for development of the value-added services. The application of the suggested service will bring the effect of reducing the monthly bill for customer. Also the service will give not only the effective demand side management(DSM) and load control, but also reduction of the investment for utilities.

  • This paper studios billing mechanisms of value-added telephone services In Korea and major foreign countries. The billing methods of toll-free phone service, voice Information service, one number service, personal number service and calling card service ate compared with each other. The results show that several differences are identified among service providers due to the difference of the regulation, numbering mechanism and underlying networks employed. This paper also provides implications and suggestions to incumbent Korean value-added service providers and regulators

  • Demand for new information services is ever increasing as information technology advances in an unprecedented pace. Capabilities of information technology to overcome the time and space limitations enables efficient storage and processing of a large volume of data shared by many users in geographically dispersed areas. As the users ask for more useful information services, it is necessary to develop information services tp meet the needs of users. Enhancing information services is also necessary to cope actively with the pressures to open the information service is also necessary to cope actively with the pressures to open the information and telecommunications market as the level of Korean information services industry is still in its infancy. Value Added Network(VAN) services have a tremendous growth potential and its economic and social impact would be great as the information society matures. This study suggests a direction for the development of value added and new-media services based on the survey of individual and business users of information services.

  • This paper describes the portal system architecture of large consumers for ESP(Energy Service Provider) to provide customers with various value added services such as monitoring and controlling a wide variety of electric devices in consumer's premises for optimal energy management from both consumer side and ESP side, and the prototype implementation of 2 kinds of value added services. The architecture is composed of the device portal which gathers the information from electric devices and controls them and the consumer portal which can make ESP operate the optimal energy management with two-way communications. The demand side management and energy management functions was chosen and implemented for the prototype system as value added services. The prototype was designed to create, manage, and trace the events about services between ESP and customers.

  • One field that the information society has recently taken much interest in and has continuously implemented is medical services. Health tourism services which emphasize today's patient-oriented management rather than the past hospital-oriented management are highly value-added. As interest in physical fitness increases in keeping with such trends of the society at large as the declining birth rate and increasing life expectancy, and the medical market is opened, the added value of medical services that attract and manage domestic and foreign patients from the global market and satisfy their diverse desires with domestic medical competitiveness such as excellent medical staff and technology is on the spotlight. Hereupon, this study intends to suggest the possibility of developing competitive domestic medical services into a highly value-added industry in keeping with changing environment.

  • 이 연구의 목적은 온라인 음악 플랫폼에서 부가가치서비스의 개념을 정의하고 온라인 음악 플랫폼에서 부가가치서비스를 사용하려는 사용자의 의향 모델을 제시하고 영향요인이 사용자의 의지에 미치는 영향을 탐색하는 것이다. 본 연구는 정보가치, 사회적 가치, 오락가치를 독립변수로, 플로우경험을 매개변수로, 자기인식을 매개변수로 하여 온라인 음악 서비스 플랫폼의 특성과 결합된 자극-반응 모델을 기반으로 하였다. 종속변수는 소비자의 사용의향으로 사용하였다. 본 연구에서는 SPSS와 AMOS 통계분석 도구를 이용하여 실증분석을 수행하였다. 결과는 온라인 음악 플랫폼의 부가가치서비스가 소비자의 플로우경험과 소비자의 사용의향에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다는 것을 보였다. 본 연구는 온라인 음악 플랫폼 서비스의 이론적 결함을 채울 수 있으며, 이는 음악 플랫폼 사업자의 서비스 역량 향상 및 소득 향상에 긍정적이고 중요한 의미를 갖는다.

  • UMTS와 같은 제 3세대 이동 통신 시스템에서의 value-added 서비스를 위한 중요한 점은 이동 사용자로부터의 지불을 받을 수 있는 지의 여부를 검사하는 것이다. 기존의 value-added 서비스를 위한 인증 및 지불 프로토콜은 사용자의 인증 기관의 역할을 해주는 온-라인(on-line) TTP에 의존하고 있다. 그러나 3 세대 이동 통신 시스템에서의 수많은 서비스 제공자들, 다양한 종류의 서비스들, 그리고 넓은 사용자 계층 등을 고려할 때 온-라인 TTP에 기반한 인증과 지불 기법은 실용적이지 못하다. 본 논문에서는 3 세대 이동 통신 시스템에서의 value-added 서비스를 위하여 티켓(ticket)을 이용하여 인증 및 지불 프로토콜을 제안한다. 제안한 티켓 기반 인증 및 지불 프로토콜은 온-라인 TTP와의 통신 없이 사용자의 비용 지불 여부를 확인할 수 있는 효율적인 방법을 제공한다. 또한 티켓에 기반한 제안된 프로토콜은 이동 사용자의 서비스 사용에 대한 익명성을 보장 할 수 있다.

고몰입 인적자원관리가 서비스성과에 미치는 영향과 내적혁신방향의 매개효과 (The Effects of High Commitment HRM on the Service Performance: Mediating Effect of Internal Innovation Direction)

  • 본 연구는 국내 서비스산업의 기업체를 대상으로 고몰입 인적자원관리의 수준이 서비스성과에 미치는 효과와 조직의 내적인 혁신방향이 갖는 매개효과를 분석하였다. 구체적으로 내적인 혁신 방향은 기업의 인력과 서비스의 고부가가치화 방향과 비용절감 다운사이징 방향으로 구성되며, 인력과 서비스의 고부가가치화 방향은 긍정적인 매개효과를 가질 것으로, 비용절감 다운사이징 방향은 부정적인 매개효과를 가질 것으로 예측하였다. 분석을 위한 자료는 한국노동연구원(KLI)의 2013년도 사업체패널 조사자료(WPS)의 1,775개 업체 중 도소매, 운수, 전문과학서비스, 교육서비스, 보건사회복지서비스, 금융서비스, 기타(정보사회지원서비스 등)서비스로 분류되는 896개 사업체의 응답을 활용하였다. 가설검증을 위한 분석은 구조방정식 분석을 사용하였다. 분석 결과, 고몰입 인적자원관리는 고부가가치화 혁신방향에 긍정적인 영향을 미치며, 비용절감 다운사이징에는 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 고부가가치화 혁신방향은 서비스성과에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤으며, 비용절감 다운사이징은 서비스성과에 부정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 고몰입 인적자원관리의 서비스성과에 대한 직접효과를 확인하지 못하였으나, 고부가가치화 혁신 방향의 긍정적인 매개효과와 비용절감 다운사이징 혁신 방향의 부정적인 매개효과가 유의한 것으로 나타나 두 변수가 고몰입 인적자원관리와 서비스성과의 관계에 대해 완전매개효과를 가지는 것을 확인하였다.
