적응적 탐색 영역 예측을 이용한 고속 움직임 추정 (Fast Motion Estimation using Adaptive Search Region Prediction)

  • 본 논문은 적응적 탐색 영역과 새로운 3단계 탐색을 이용하는 고속 움직임 추정을 제안한다. 제안한 방법은 이웃 블록의 모션벡터로부터 현재 블록의 움직임를 예측하고, 예측된 움직임 정보를 이용하여 탐색 영역을 적응적으로 설정함으로써 움직임 보상 영상의 화질이 $0.43dB{\sim}2.19dB$ 향상되었다. 또한 새로운 3단계 탐색 패턴을 적용하여 블록 당 계산량을 기존의 방법에 비해 $1.3%{\sim}1.9%$ 감소시킴으로써 고속 움직임 추정이 가능함을 알 수 있었다.

Maximum A Posteriori Estimation-based Adaptive Search Range Decision for Accelerating HEVC Motion Estimation on GPU

  • High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) suffers from high computational complexity due to its quad-tree structure in motion estimation (ME). This paper exposes an adaptive search range decision algorithm for accelerating HEVC integer-pel ME on GPU which estimates the optimal search range (SR) using a MAP (Maximum A Posteriori) estimator. There are three main contributions; First, we define the motion feature as the standard deviation of motion vector difference values in a CTU. Second, a MAP estimator is proposed, which theoretically estimates the motion feature of the current CTU using the motion feature of a temporally adjacent CTU and its SR without any data dependency. Thus, the SR for the current CTU is parallelly determined. Finally, the values of the prior distribution and the likelihood for each discretized motion feature are computed in advance and stored at a look-up table to further save the computational complexity. Experimental results show in conventional HEVC test sequences that the proposed algorithm can achieves high average time reductions without any subjective quality loss as well as with little BD-bitrate increase.

  • This paper concerns on Filtered-x least mean square (FXLMS) algorithm for adaptive estimation of feedforward control parameters. The conditions for convergence in ensemble mean of the FXLMS algorithm are derived and the directional convergence properties are discussed from a new geometric vector analysis. The convergence and its directionality are verified along with some computer simulations.

  • 회귀모형에 있어서의 Ruppert와 Carroll의 절사 회귀 추정법을 확장하여 회귀 분위수에 의 한 두 개의 두분으로 관측치를 분할하여 각 부분마다 가중치를 달리 부여하는 방법으로 적 합된 L-추정법을 제안하였다. 이 제안된 L-추정법은 특히 비대칭인 오차분포하에서 좋은 효율을 가지고 있었다.

  • This paper proposes a novel direct adaptive pole placement control algorithm which can be applied to continuous time nonminimum phase systems. The algorithm is based on Lyapunov's direct method. By introducing an auxiliary signal, a minimal error model is constructed in state space. Using the error model an estimation law is obtained via Lyapunov's second stability theorem. The global stability of the overall system is established.

  • This paper presents an integrated sliding mode adaptive control scheme for general nonlinear uncertain systems, where structured uncertainty is assumed can be linearly parameterized and unstructured uncertainty is assumed be bounded by unknown constant A certain estimation scheme for this unknown constant is introduced to attenuate the unstructured uncertainty. Presented control scheme is shown to be stable and numerical expressions of bounds of all error signals are given, from which we can acquire some useful information about practical trade-off between tracking performance and parameter estimation property.

Adaptive M-estimation using Selector Statistics in Location Model

  • In this paper we introduce some adaptive M-estimators using selector statistics to estimate the center of symmetric and continuous underlying distributions. This selector statistics is based on the idea of Hogg(1983) and Hogg et. al. (1988) who used averages of some order statistics to discriminate underlying distributions. In this paper, we use the functions of sample quantiles as selector statistics and determine the suitable quantile points based on maximizing the distance index to discriminate distributions under consideration. In Monte Carlo study, this robust estimation method works pretty good in wide range of underlying distributions.

  • In this paper, a new algorithm for adaptive IIR filters based on equation error methods using the RLS algorithm is proposed. In the proposed algorithm, the concept of feedback of the scaled output error proposed by tin and Unbehauen is employed and the forgetting factor is varied in adaptation process for avoiding the accumulation of the estimation error for additive noise . The proposed algorithm has the good convergence property without the parameter estimation error under the existence of mea-surement noise.

  • This paper deals with the analysis of characteristics of position and speed estimator of an adaptive sensorless control algorithm for PMSM drives. The analysis shows that the back emf constant variation results in the position estimation error, but does not the speed estimation error. The simulation and experimental results are shown to verify the analysis result and the usefulness of the back emf constant estimator.

  • 본 논문에서는 적응적인 확장 블록을 사용하는 프레임율 증강 기법인 AEBME (Adaptive Extended Bilateral Motion Estimation)을 제안하고자 한다. 기존의 EBME (Extended Bilateral Motion Estimation) 알고리듬은 동일한 구역에 두 번의 움직임 예측을 수행함으로 인해 높은 계산량이 요구되었다. 본 논문에서는 영상의 edge 정보를 활용한 블록 유형의 일치 유무를 고려하여 EBME 수행여부를 결정함으로써 움직임 예측 과정을 보다 빠르게 수행하도록 하였다. 움직임 벡터 평활화 과정이 적용되어 움직임 벡터 필드 내의 이상 벡터를 찾아 수정한다. 최종적으로 OBMC (Overlapped Block Motion Compensation)와 MCFI (Motion Compensated Frame Interpolation)이 프레임 움직임의 성질에 따라 적용되어 중간 프레임을 보간하게 된다. 실험 결과를 통해 제안하는 알고리듬이 기존의 알고리듬인 EBME에 비해 향상된 성능과 빠른 속도를 보임을 알 수 있다.
