  • 본 논문에서는 multi-media service를 제공하는데 smart antenna system을 적용했을 때의 performance 를 각 서비스별 특성에 따라 평가한다. 서로 다른 다중 rate 의 신호가 각각의 안테나를 통해서 수신되는 환경 하에서 adaptive smart antenna를 적용함으로써 보다 고속이고 향상된 용량의 서비스를 제공할 수 있도록 하기 위해서는 사용자의 지리적 분포 또는 간섭 전력에 따라서 성능 특성이 달라지므로 이에 대한 성능 분석을 시뮬레이션을 통해서 수행한다.

  • In this paper, we propose a design of GPS anti-jamming system and its operational method, which can effectively suppress interference and jamming signals induced in GPS receiver. The 7-array antenna used in the proposed system is composed of conventional 6 equi-spaced circular elements with one element on the center of antenna and can be efficiently operated under power-constrained conditions. Futhermore, in this paper, we analyze the structure and complexity of STAP and SFAP which are well known techniques in adaptive array antenna signal processing, and we compare the BER performances between STAP and SFAP in various jamming environment based on the same complexity.

  • Adaptive array is using the array of antenna elements spatially and its output is the sum of each antenna elements output signal which is multiplied by the controlled weight coefficients corresponding to each elements For the 4 elements equidistance linear array antenna system LMS and RLS algorithm was used as the adaptive instruction principles and the application results to the constant amplitude envelope signals such as BPSK can be seen that the computer simulation results are very fast in the convergence characteristics of directional patterns and the signal following characteristics.

  • The phased array antenna has the ability to perform adaptive sampling by directing the radar beam without inertia in any direction. The adaptive sampling capability of the phased array antenna allows each sampling time interval to be varied for each target, depending on the acceleration of each target at any time. In this paper we design a three-dimensional adaptive tracking algorithm for the phased array radar system with a given set of measurement parameters. The tracking algorithm avoids taking unnecessarily frequent samples, while keeping the angular prediction error within a fraction of antenna beamwidth so that the probability of detection will not be degraded during a track update illuminations. In our algorithm, the target model and the sampling rate are selected depending on the target range and the target maneuver status which is determined by a maneuver detector. A detailed simulation is conducted to test the validity of our tracking algorithm for encounter geometries under various conditions of maneuver.

  • This paper examines the array antenna theory, basic relations between the array size (aperture) and its beamwidth and resultant patterns. This paper also provides array antenna system design criteria, mainly maximizing the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and its corresponding optimum array structure and weight functions. Explicit new expressions for array performance are also illustrated in terms of the array output SNR. An example is provided for a 37-element planar array to explicitly illustrate the beam-forming and nulling operations of the array. Fundamentals of sidelobe canceller (SLC) systems have been discussed along with a derivation of new SLC equations for optimum weights.

  • At the mobile unit for adaptation the propagation environment, it is necessity to adapt very fast the weight coefficient vector of adaptive array antenna In this paper, for the BPSK and BFSK signals with S/I=2, S/N=10 subband adaptive array signal processing method to the linear array antenna using the LMS & the Kalman filter algorithm is proposed. For the 4 elements equidistance linear array antenna systems LMS and Kalman algorithms with subband adaptive instruction principles using the subband signal processing method are adopted and the computer simulation results to the constant amplitude envelope signals such as BPSK or BFSK can be seen that the convergence characteristics of directional patterns and the signal following characteristics are more fast and stable.

  • In mobile environments, their is more than one propagation path between each transceiver and Receiver have two or more delayed multipath signals. Delayed multipath signals can cause ISI and Receiver needs a adaptive algorithm to estimate a channel periodically. Also adaptive antenna using adaptive algorithm provide a significant increase in capacity, performance and coverage. This paper describes various LMS algorithm and evaluate the performance of array antenna Base station by using LMS algorithm in the presence of multipath signals and multiple users. As a result of simulation, Adaptive array antenna systems are able to adjust their antenna pattern to select desired signals, and reduce interference.

  • Method a target estimation in spatial are mobile wireless communication using network cell and GPS. It have much error that mobile wireless communication depend on cell size. GPS method can't find a target in shadow and inner area. In this paper, we estimate a target as direction of arrival method using adaptive array antenna system. Adaptive array antenna system can obtain desired signal to remove other signal This paper studied digital beamforming method in order to estimation a target. Proposed method is modified optimum weight and antenna error correction to estimation an optimal receive signal. Digital beamforming method decided a signal phase and amplitude from received signal on array antenna element. But if it is not to do error correction of received signal, system performance have decreased. Firstly, we proposed modified optimum weight in order to finding desired target. Secondly, we are error correction of antenna incident signals by optimal weight before digital beamforming method. Thirdly, throughly simulation, we showed that system performance of proposed method compare proposal method with general method. It have improved resolution of estimation target to good performance more proposed method than general method.

Study on Pattern Synthesis of Conformal Phased Array Antenna (컨포멀 위상 배열 안테나의 패턴 합성에 대한 고찰)

  • This paper describes the pattern synthesis method of two kinds of conformal array antenna using the Enhanced Adaptive Genetic Algorithm (EAGA). One is the $1{\times}16$ conformal array antenna on a curved cylindrical metallic surface with quadratic function, and the other is the 18-element conformal arrary antenna on a metallic surface obtained by the rotation of a quadratic function curve around the axis. The active element pattern is utilized in the pattern synthesis. Especially for the case of the rotated-type conformal array antenna the transformed active element pattern obtained from the Euler's angle rotation of the active element pattern of the planar concentric array is utilized, which reduces the synthesis time a lot. To verify the validity of the proposed synthesis method the MATLAB results are compared with the MWS results. Furthermore, for the case of $1{\times}16$ conformal array antenna the measured results are compared with the MATLAB synthesized results.

System Level Simulation of CDMA Network with Adaptive Array

  • In this study, the system level network simulation is considered with adaptive array antenna in CDMA mobile communication system. A network simulation framework is implemented based on IS-95A/B system to consider dynamic handoff, system level network behavior, and deploying strategy into the overall CDMA mobile communication network under adaptive array algorithm. Its simulation model, such as vector channel model, adaptive beam forming antenna model, handoff model, and power control model, are described in detail with simulation block. In order to maximize SINR of received signal at antenna, maximin algorithm is particularly considered, and it is computed at each simulation snap shot with SINR based power control and handoff algorithm. Graphic user interface in this system level network simulator is also implemented to define the simulation environments and to represent simulation results on real mapping system. This paper also shows some features of simulation framework and simulation results.
