A Study on the Work Adaptation of Re-Employed Industrial Accident Workers (재취업 산재근로자의 직장 적응 결정요인 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to categorize the adaptation of re-employed injured workers to the workplace and to explore the determinants that affect their adaptation to the workplace. In order to categorize the group of re-employed injured workers to adapt to the workplace, a latent profile analysis was conducted on 522 injured workers. As a result of the analysis, the workplace adaptation group was classified into three types: environmental dominant adaptation type (group 1), work-oriented adaptation type (group 2), and 'environmental adaptation type (group 3). In addition, as a result of conducting a mixed regression analysis to analyze the factors influencing their adaptation to the workplace after industrial accident, it was found that the work-oriented adaptation and environmental adaptation adaptation type were lower than the environmental dominant adaptation type. In addition, it was confirmed that educational background and self-esteem are factors that have an important influence on the adaptation of injured workers to the workplace. Based on the results of this study, it was suggested that the system needs to be supplemented in two aspects: customized support for individuals in the pre-reemployment stage and the employment environment after re-employment in order to increase the adaptation of injured workers to work. Specifically, there are consideration of the development and spread of rehabilitation programs and the expansion of the scope of subsidies that were paid only to the original business owners. Through this study, it is expected that more targeted policy measures can be prepared for re-employed injured workers.

Adaptation Process of Nurses Who Return to Work after Parental Leave (육아휴직 후 직장에 복귀한 간호사의 적응과정)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to generate a grounded substantive theory of the adaptation process of nurses who return to work after taking parental leave. Methods: Individual in-depth interviews with 13 participants were conducted between June and September 2014. Participants were interviewed 1~3 times; interviews were continued until the data became saturated. Data were analyzed using Strauss and Corbin's grounded theory method. Results: The core category of experience of the process of adaptation as a nurse who returned to work after parental leave was 'trying to regain one's previous position'. Participants used five interactional strategies: 'preparing in advance', 'initiating relationships with colleagues', 'keeping a positive attitude', 'understanding parenting helpers', 'Taking burden off one's mind'. Conclusion: The results of this study provide a theoretical basis for the adaptation process of nurses returning to work after taking parental leave. The importance of improving nurses' attitudes to their co-workers who take parental leave is highlighted along with the necessity of providing a family-friendly work environment. These results can be used to develop supportive policies and programs for nurses who return to their work after parental leave.

Adaptation Experience of Male Nurses on Shift work (교대근무 남자간호사의 실무 적응 경험)

  • The purpose of this study is to comprehensively interpret the practical adaptation experience of male nurses working shifts and to understand the meaning and essence. The data collection period was from September 2022 to November 2022 and in-depth interviews were conducted with 9 male nurses working at tertiary general hospitals, general hospitals, special hospitals and long-term care hospitals until content saturation. Data analysis was applied according to Colaizzi's phenomenological research method, and as a result of the study, 4 categories, and 11 theme were derived. The 4 categories consisted of 'Changes due to shift work', 'Difficulties arising from gender differences', 'Adaptation for job performance', and 'Growth and direction for the future'. Through this study, it was possible to explore the meaning of the practical adaptation experience of male nurses working in shifts, and it was found that it was necessary to develop and apply work environment improvement plans and male nurses' capacity building programs for nursing work.

A Study on the Relationship between University Adaptation, Self-Leadership, Learning Commitment, and Career Adaptation (대학생의 대학생활적응, 셀프리더십, 학습몰입, 진로적응성 간의 관계에 관한 융합연구)

  • In this study, we examined the effects of University adaptation on career adaptation through self-leadership and learning commitment, and identified the regulatory effects of demographic characteristics (sex, grade, grade level, and willingness to work). To this end, we analyzed the data for 289 college students. The results of the study are as follows. First, adaptation to University life has a significant impact on learning commitment and self-leadership. However, adaptation to University life has an indirect effect on learning commitment and self-leadership rather than directly affecting career adaptation. Second, demographic characteristics have a regulatory effect on the path through which University adaptation affects career adaptation through self-leadership and learning commitment. The factors that were regulated were age, grade, and willingness to work. Therefore, in order to adapt to university life and adapt to career, we developed a program to improve self-leadership and learning commitment, and suggested that customized guidance is needed considering the differences in personal characteristics such as gender and academic background in university life and career counseling.

  • Purpose: This study aims to explore the experience of cross-cultural communication adaptation between local and expatriate employees at PT. XX Organizational culture in the company is the most important factor to helpemployees in the company to work efficiently and effectively in order to achieve company goals. Research design, data and methodology: The analysis methods used in this research are data reduction, data presentation, and drawing a conclusion. From this collaboration, the cultural adaptations arouse due to the challenges for workers who have to work together with different cultural backgrounds. The method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Data collection methods used is employee interviews at PT. XX with triangulation conducted on 2 expatriates and 2 local employees. Results: Studies show that successful management is highly dependent on employees adapting to local culture and work situations. This process rarely runs smoothly because the persons in intercultural interaction do not use the same language and the lack of adaptation.. Conclusions: . In order to maintain its existence, the company strives to expand its wings in the global market and establish partnerships to expand cooperation. PT. Adaptation to Clinical Experience by Older Graduate Nurses who Entered Nursing after Graduation in Another Field (편입과정을 거쳐 입사한 신규간호사의 적응경험)

  • Purpose: With the increasing opportunities for students to transfer into nursing from other departments or after graduation, it is important to examine how these students adapt to clinical work in the hospital setting after graduation. This study was done to describe the adaptation experience of older graduate nurses in hospital settings and to understand the meanings and search the nature of their experience. Method: For this study, the participants were 6 nurses who entered nursing after having graduated from college or university in another field. The data were collected through in-depth interviews from March to April 2007 and analyzed by Colaizzi's phenomenological method. Results: The essential themes of the adaptation experience for older graduate nurses were the following 6 categories: taking responsibilities for the expected role according to one's age, following the rules of senior-junior hierarchy, being ambivalent about one's older age, expanding one's support system, getting rid of the concept of age difference and establishing the expected position appropriate for one's career. Conclusion: For older graduate nurses, interpersonal relationship factors were more important than work related factors. Therefore, it is important to create a more flexible nursing culture to ease the adaptation of these older graduate nurses.

  • eLearning can be defined as an approach to teaching and teaming that utilises Internet technologies to communicate and collaborate in an educational context. This includes technology that supplements traditional classroom training with web-based components and learning environments where the educational process is experienced online. The use of hypertext as an educational tool has a very rich history. The advent of the internet and one of its major application, the world wide web (WWW), has given a tremendous boost to the theory and practice of hypermedia systems for educational purposes. However, the web suffers from an inability to satisfy the heterogeneous needs of a large number of users. For example, web-based courses present the same static teaming material to students with widely differing knowledge of the subject. Adaptive hypermedia techniques can be used to improve the adaptability of eLearning. In this paper we report an approach to the design a unified implementation framework suitable for web-based eLearning that accommodates the three main dimensions of hypermedia adaptation: content, navigation, and presentation. The framework externalises the adaptation strategies using XML notation. The separation of the adaptation strategies from the source code of the eLearning software enables a system using the framework to quickly implement a variety of adaptation strategies. This work is a part of our more general ongoing work on the design of a framework for adaptive content delivery. parts of the framework discussed in this paper have been imulemented in a commercial eLearning engine.

Improving Adversarial Domain Adaptation with Mixup Regularization

  • Engineers prefer deep neural networks (DNNs) for solving computer vision problems. However, DNNs pose two major problems. First, neural networks require large amounts of well-labeled data for training. Second, the covariate shift problem is common in computer vision problems. Domain adaptation has been proposed to mitigate this problem. Recent work on adversarial-learning-based unsupervised domain adaptation (UDA) has explained transferability and enabled the model to learn robust features. Despite this advantage, current methods do not guarantee the distinguishability of the latent space unless they consider class-aware information of the target domain. Furthermore, source and target examples alone cannot efficiently extract domain-invariant features from the encoded spaces. To alleviate the problems of existing UDA methods, we propose the mixup regularization in adversarial discriminative domain adaptation (ADDA) method. We validated the effectiveness and generality of the proposed method by performing experiments under three adaptation scenarios: MNIST to USPS, SVHN to MNIST, and MNIST to MNIST-M.

Speaker Adaptation Using ICA-Based Feature Transformation

  • Speaker adaptation techniques are generally used to reduce speaker differences in speech recognition. In this work, we focus on the features fitted to a linear regression-based speaker adaptation. These are obtained by feature transformation based on independent component analysis (ICA), and the feature transformation matrices are estimated from the training data and adaptation data. Since the adaptation data is not sufficient to reliably estimate the ICA-based feature transformation matrix, it is necessary to adjust the ICA-based feature transformation matrix estimated from a new speaker utterance. To cope with this problem, we propose a smoothing method through a linear interpolation between the speaker-independent (SI) feature transformation matrix and the speaker-dependent (SD) feature transformation matrix. From our experiments, we observed that the proposed method is more effective in the mismatched case. In the mismatched case, the adaptation performance is improved because the smoothed feature transformation matrix makes speaker adaptation using noisy speech more robust.

A Study on Impact of Nursing Work Environment, Interpersonal Skills, and Grit on Field Adaptation of Nurses Who Have Experienced Department Transfers (부서이동을 경험한 간호사의 간호근무환경, 대인관계능력, 그릿이 현장적응에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose : This study aims to identify the factors influencing field adaptation among nurses who have undergone department transfers, by examining the levels of and the relationships between their nursing work environment, interpersonal skills, grit, and field adaptation. Methods : The study involved 137 nurses who had experienced at least one department transfer within the last three years across two hospitals. Data analysis was performed using SPSS/WIN 29.0, involving descriptive statistics, means, standard deviations, independent t-tests, one-way ANOVA, Scheffé post-hoc tests, Pearson correlation coefficients, and multiple regression analysis (enter method). Results : Factors affecting field adaptation included the nursing work environment (β=.37, p<.001), interpersonal skills (β=.19, p=.021) and grit (β=.18, p=.025), with a total explanatory power of 31% (F=12.16, p<.001). Conclusion : This study contributes insights into effective nursing personnel management, offers foundational data for managing department transfers, and aims to improve the overall quality of nursing care.
