  • MANET(Mobile Ad-Hoc Network) has a weakness from a security aspect because it operates where no wired network is built, which causes the exposed media, dynamic topology, and the lack of both central monitoring and management. It is especially difficult to detect and mitigate a malicious node because there is not a mediator which controls the network. This kind of malicious node is closely connected to the routing in the field of study of Ad-Hoc security. Accordingly this paper proposes the method on how to enhance the security for the safe and effective routing by detecting the malicious node. We propose MBC(Identification technition of Malicious Behavior node based on Collaboration in MANET) that can effectively cope with malicious behavior though double detecting the node executing the malicious behavior by the collaboration between individual node and the neighbor, and also managing the individual nodes in accordance with the trust level obtained. The simulation test results show that MBC can find the malicious nodes more accurately and promptly that leads to the more effectively secure routing than the existing method.

  • The CGA proposed by IETF working group prevents address spoofing and stealing and provides digital signature to users, but key collision problem arises. To solve this critical problem, the CGA defines the SEC field within address format, which is set to high value when high security is required and vice versa, but the CGA faces a dilemma between security and the processing time. As SEC value increases, the processing time to generate the CGA grows dramatically while key collision ratio increases if low SEC value is applied to the CGA. We propose modified CGA (MCGA) that has shorter processing time than the CGA and offers digital signature with small overheads. To solve key collision problem, we employ hierarchical ad hoc network. The MCGA is applicable to IPv6 networks as well public networks. In this paper, we design a mathematical model to analyze the processing time for MCGA and CGA first and evaluate the processing time via simulations, where the processing time for MCGA is reduced down 3.3 times when SEC value is set to 0 and 68,000 times when SEC value is set to 1. Further, we have proved that the CGA is inappropriate for both ad hoc networks and IPv6 networks when the SEC field is set to more than 3.

  • A Mobile Ad Hoc Network(MANET) is a multi hop wireless network with no prepared base stations or centralized administrations, where flocks of peer systems gather and compose a network. Each node operates as a normal end system in public networks. In addition to it, a MANET node is required to work as a router to forward traffic from a source or intermediate node to others. Each node operates as a normal end system in public networks, and further a MANET node work as a router to forward traffic from a source or intermediate node to the next node via routing path. Applications of MANET are extensively wide, such as battle field or any unwired place; however, these are exposed to critical problems related to network management, node's capability, and security because of frequent and dynamic changes in network topology, absence of centralized controls, restricted usage on network resources, and vulnerability oi mobile nodes which results from the special MANET's character, shared wireless media. These problems induce MANET to be weak from security attacks from eavesdropping to DoS. To guarantee secure authentication is the main part of security service In MANET because networks without secure authentication are exposed to exterior attacks. In this paper, a multistage authentication strategy based on CGSR is proposed to guarantee that only genuine and veritable nodes participate in communications. The proposed authentication model is composed of key manager, cluster head and common nodes. The cluster head is elected from secure nodes, and key manager is elected from cluster heads. The cluster head will verify other common nodes within its cluster range in MANET. Especially, ID of each node is used on communication, which allows digital signature and blocks non repudiation. For performance evaluation, attacks against node authentication are analyzed. Based on security parameters, strategies to resolve these attacks are drawn up.

  • Mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) are infrastructure-less and stand-alone wireless networks with dynamic topologies. To support user's safety in MANETs, fundamental and various security services should be supported. Especially in mobile commercial market, one of the major concerns regarding security is user privacy. Recently, researches about security system to protect user privacy in cluster-based MANETs have been introduced. This paper propose a cluster reconfiguration protocol under anonymous cluster-based MANETs to enhance the network stability. The improved anonymous cluster-based MANETs can recover the network structure against abnormal states of clutserheads.

  • In an identity-based threshold broadcast encryption (IDTHBE) scheme, a broadcaster chooses a set of n recipients and a threshold value t, and the plaintext can be recovered only if at least t receivers cooperate. IDTHBE scheme is different from the standard threshold public key encryption schemes, where the set of receivers and the threshold value are decided from the beginning. This kind of scheme has wide applications in ad hoc networks. Previously proposed IDTHBE schemes have ciphertexts which contain at least n elements. In addition, the security of theses schemes relies on the random oracles. In this paper, we introduce two new constructions of IDTHBE for ad hoc networks. Our first scheme achieves S-size private keys while the modified scheme achieves constant size private keys. Both schemes achieve approximately (n-t)-size ciphertexts. Furthermore, we also show that they are provablesecurity under the decision bilinear Diffie-Hellman Exponent (BDHE) assumption in the standard model.

  • With the rapid development of vehicular ad hoc Network (VANET), it has gained significant popularity and received increasing attentions from both academics and industry communities in aspects of security and efficiency. To address the security and efficiency issues, a self-authentication and deniable efficient group key agreement protocol is proposed in this paper. The scheme establishes a group between road side units (RSUs) and vehicles by using self-authentication without certification authority, and improves certification efficiency by using group key (GK) transmission method. At the same time, to avoid the attacker attacking the legal vehicle by RSUs, we adopt deniable group key agreement method to negotiation session key (sk) and use it to transmit GK between RSUs. In addition, vehicles not only broadcast messages to other vehicles, but also communicate with other members in the same group. Therefore, group communication is necessary in VANET. Finally, the performance analysis shows superiority of our scheme in security problems, meanwhile the verification delay, transmission overheard and message delay get significant improvement than other related schemes.

  • MANET has a highly dynamic topology because it consists of only mobile nodes. Various attacks using these characteristics exist. Among them, damage of the attacks based flooding such as DoS or DDos is large and traceback of the attack node is not easy. It is because route information by moving of intermediate nodes which pass the data changes frequently. In this paper, we propose table-based traceback technique to perform efficient traceback although route information by moving of nodes changes frequently. Cluster head manages route management table in order to form cluster status table and network topology snapshot for storing the location information of mobile nodes when cluster member nodes change. Also, bloom filter is used to reduce the amount of storing route information. The performance of the proposed technique is confirmed through experiment.

  • Multicast Routings is a big challenge due to limitations such as node power and bandwidth Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET). The path to be chosen from the source to the destination node requires protocols. Multicast protocols support group-oriented operations in a bandwidth-efficient way. While several protocols for multi-cast MANETs have been evolved, security remains a challenging problem. Consequently, MANET is required for high quality of service measures (QoS) such infrastructure and application to be identified. The goal of a MANETs QoS-aware protocol is to discover more optimal pathways between the network source/destination nodes and hence the QoS demands. It works by employing the optimization method to pick the route path with the emphasis on several QoS metrics. In this paper safe routing is guaranteed using the Secured Multicast Routing offered in MANET by utilizing the Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) technique to integrate the QOS-conscious route setup into the route selection. This implies that only the data transmission may select the way to meet the QoS limitations from source to destination. Furthermore, the track reliability is considered when selecting the best path between the source and destination nodes. For the optimization of the best path and its performance, the optimized algorithm called the micro artificial bee colony approach is chosen about the probabilistic ant routing technique.

  • This paper consider a code-division multiple-access(CDMA) wireless ad-hoc network in low-SINR regime. In previous research [6], there has been proposed a algorithm for achieving global optimum at high SINR regime, but has not been fully investigated at low-SINR regime. In this paper, we focus on a case where SINR is much smaller than 1, and propose a algorithm that is suitable for low-SINR regime.

  • Ad hoc networks play an important role in mobile communications, and the performance of nodes has a significant impact on the choice of communication links. To ensure efficient and secure data forwarding and delivery, an intelligent routing protocol (IAODV) based on learning method is constructed. Five attributes of node energy, rate, credit value, computing power and transmission distance are taken as the basis of segmentation. By learning the selected samples and calculating the information gain of each attribute, the decision tree of routing node is constructed, and the rules of routing node selection are determined. IAODV algorithm realizes the adaptive evaluation and classification of network nodes, so as to determine the optimal transmission path from the source node to the destination node. The simulation results verify the feasibility, effectiveness and security of IAODV.
