1. Objective This study is about a Soeumin patient who had Yul Gyuk similarity with anorexia, nausea, sialism. In this study, we report the effects of Sasang constitutional treatment to this patient. 2. Methods This patient was treated by Soeumin's constitutional medications and acupunture according to the result of Sasang constitutional diagnosis. 3. Results and Conclusions This patient's chief complaints were anorexia, nausea, and sialism. By using Gyejibanhasaenggang-tang mainly, he showed positive response about his symptom. This study shows that Gyejibanhasaenggang-tang has effect to Yul Gyuk similarity in Soeumin.

This study compared the effects of Intermittent traction therapy alone(Group1=Control group) and Intermittent traction therapy plus Auriculotherapy (Group2=Experimental group) to 20 Sciatica patients. Subjects were assigned to two groups with each 10. The two groups received Intermittent traction therapy (Hold:25, Rest:15) for 15 minute and experimental group did received auricular stimulation. Auricular acupuncture points(max=17, min=13) were stimulated with low frequency, high intensity Electro-Acupunture stimulator for 20 seconds per a each point. Treatment and measurements(SLR and VAS) was administered to each patient during the two weeks of 10 times therapy. The results were significant differences between the two groups. Experimental group produced significantly greater pain relief, and significant improvement of limited SLR.

Objectives : This report is about a case of a patient who improvement in general condition, Infection and dysphagia after poststroke seizure. Methods : We observed a patiet who received treatment in hospital because of stroke sequelae. Her symptoms were left hemiplegia, right hemiparesis, dysphagia, dyspnea, sputum and general weakness, and acupunture and herb medicine were applied. Results : Stroke is the most common cause of seizures in the elderly. The impact of late onset GTC(generalized tonic-clonic) seizures is associated with worse outcomes. Conclusion : The patient of this case was attacked by intracerebal hemorrhage, cerebaral infarction and GTC seizures. Since then her neurologic disorder was progressed. As the treatments of the patient, herb medication and acupuncture therapy were applied and she got a wide improvement of dysphagia, dyspnea, URI sign and general condition.

Purpose : The purpose of this study is to know the therapeutic effect of herbal-acupuncture on shoulder pain from calcific tendinitis. Methods : The patient who have the calcific tendinitis was treated by herbal-acupunture on 6 acupoints around right shoulder. The shoulder pain and dysfunction was assessed by visual analogue scale(VAS). UCLA Shoulder rating Scale. and SPAI scale. Results : After treatment. all scales showed slightly improvement.. Conclusion : Herbal-acupuncture on shoulder joint was effective in short term study. We need more further study.

We evaluated the patient through VAS(Visual Analog Scale) daily and Physical Examinations Results & Conclusions : After 12 days of treatment, shoulder pain was decreased from VAS9 to VAS1 and the patient showed nearly full ROM(range of movement). In shoulder pain, oriental treatment is good method for pain relief and better movement.

Objective: The objective of this study is to observe the effect of anti-inflammatory herbal acupuncture on the Complex Regional Pain Syndrome Methods : Anti-inflammatory herbal acupuncture, A-Shi Point, Sa-am acupunture were used to treat shoulder pain & ROM(range of movement)disorder, chest pain, finger's causalgic pain. We evaluated the patient through VAS(Visual Analog Scale) daily and Physical Examinations Results & Conclusions : After 42days of treatment, shoulder pain was decreased from VAS10 to VAS3, chest pain was decreased from VAS10 to VAS1.5, finger's causalgic pain was decreased from VAS10 to VAS2.5. and the patient showed that the ROM(range of movement) of shoulder was better, oriental treatment is good method for pain relief and better movement.

Objective : This study was conducted to offer basic materials for the clinical study of Chi acupuncture (carboxytherapy). Methods : Recent clinical studies were reviewed for carboxytherapy (carbon dioxide therapy) and the ancient and present texts were reviewed for Chi acupuncture. Results and Conclusions : Chi acupuncture is oriental medical therapeutic treatment using carboxytherapy. Chi acupuncture refers to the transcutaneous administration of CO2 gas for therapeutical purposes relating to obesity, cellulites, local circulation and skin irregularity. Recent studies have demonstrated the effects of this therapy on adipose tissue by showing vasomotor effects, increasing local circulation and inducing a partial increase in tcPO2. Chi acupuncture influences the microcirculation and likely has a positive effect upon the physiological oxidative lipolytic process.

Background and Objective: Erythema multiforme(EM) is related disorders of skin and mucous membranes which is typically associated with antecedent medications or infections. etc. EM is an erythematous maculopapular cutaneous eruption of variable form. However, the pathophysiology of the EM remains obscure. Treatment at present is symptomatic and supportive. There is no report on EM treated with oriental medical treatment. Methods: We conducted one patient with EM seen at Won-Kwang University Kwang-Ju Oriental Medical Hospital in 2004. We treated EM in a twenty-two years old man by a herbal medicine(Joa-Chang-Bang), a herbal medicine for external use, acupunture, moxa, COTDE-made cosmetics, and P-Tx(carbon). Conclusions. We had a significant results. So we report this case to estimate the efficiency of oriental medical treatment and management on EM.

Blepharoptosis is the state that upper eyelid sagges, palpebal fissure becomes narrow due to disorder of a levator palpebrae superioris or innervation. It affects not only the physical vision but also mental shrink. In the view of oriental medicine, there are various causes, among them mainly cause is the deficiency of spleen Gi. The other hand, we treated a patient who suffered from blepharoptosis(with headache, exotropia, dizziness) differentiate from stagnation of Gi(energy) and blood stasis with Sungihwalhyeoltang(順氣活血湯) mostly. After about 40days of Sungihwalhyeoltang(順氣活血湯) centered treatment, acupunture, we observed an improvement Based on this experience, it is considered that stagnation of Gi(energy) and blood stasis can bring about blepharoptosis.

This is a clinical report of a ptosis patient diagnosed as oculomotor palsy. A 47-year-old man with ptosis, diplopia, anorexia, dyspepsia, general weakness was admitted at Wonkwang Oriental Medicine Hospital. He was treated with the herbal medicine Bojungikgi-Tang and with acupunture. Results showed improvement of symptoms and total body conditions. The process used in this sucessful treatment is here described.
