Objectives : The purpose of this study is to find out relationship between Trigger points and Acupoints. Methods : We have researched some of oriental and western medical books about Trigger points and Acupoints from head to trunk. Conclusions : 1. In the head, there are 46 trigger points Among them, 19 trigger points correspond to Acupoints and 25 trigger points are similar to them 2. In the thorax, there are 33 trigger points Among them, 17 trigger points correspond to Acupoints and 20 trigger points are similar to them 3. In the upperimb, there are 20 trigger points Among them, 9 trigger points correspond to Acupoints and 13 trigger points are similar to them. 4 In the trunk, there are 11 trigger points. Among them, 5 trigger points correspond to Acupoints and 11 trigger points are similar to them.

Objectives : The aim of this study was to show the rationale of point-selection on the methods of acupuncture and moxibustion in the Rhinological section(in the Oehyeong chapter) of the Dong Ui BO Gam. Methods : First, We summarized the cause of each disease in the Rhinological section(in the Oehyeong chapter) of the Dong Ui BO Gam. Then, We explained the rationale of acupoint-selection referring to the cause of disease, physiology of the Oriental medicine, other uses of each acupoints in the Dong Ui BO Gam, character of each acupoints, flow of meridian pathways and specific acupoints etc. Results and Conclusions : Total 15 acupoints were used in the Rhinological section(in the Oehyeong chapter) of the Dong Ui BO Gam. Most of acupoints were specific acupoints. But, some rationale of acupoint-selection were explained by the cause of disease, physiology of the Oriental medicine, other uses of each acupoints in the Dong Ui BO Gam, flow of meridian pathways etc.

Objectives : This research aimed to verify the validities of contraindicated acupoints in acupuncture treatment in Zhenjiudacheng. Methods : We investigated contraindicated acupoints when performing needling in Zhenjiudacheng, then verified them in today's medical knowledge and clinical studies. Results : In Zhenjiudacheng, 39 acupoints - LU2, LI4, LI13, LI14, LI16, ST1, ST9, ST12, ST17, ST25, ST30, ST42, SP6, SP11, SI18, BL8, BL9, BL56, KI11, TE7, TE8, TE19, TE20, GB3, GB18, GB21, GV10, GV11, GV17, GV22, GV24, CV1, CV4, CV5, CV8, CV9, CV15, CV17 and EX-HN11 - were described to need a careful approach in acupuncture treatment and 21 acupoints among them had contraindications. Most of the contraindications can be explained based on anatomical knowledge and results of clinical studies, and acupuncture treatment at the 39 contraindicated acupoints can induce injury of tissues or organs near the acupoints. Conclusions : The contraindicated acupoints in acupuncture treatment in Zhenjiudacheng seem to have been classified based on the adverse events experienced by doctors at that time. Therefore careful acupuncture treatment at these acupoints is needed to avoid injury to tissue or organs.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to investigate acupoints for atopic dermatitis which have similar impact with frequent herbs. Methods : We collected research materials in "The Journal of Korean Medicine Ophthalmology & Otolaryngology & Dermatology" published from Feburary, 2000 to September, 2017. The search terms are 'atopic Dermatitis', 'antiallergic', 'anti-inflammatory', 'antianaphylaxis', 'dermatitis' and we elected experimental researches about herbal medicine. Among the herbal medicine, we extracted frequent herbs using more than 5 times, and categorized through "Herbal Medicine". By Consulting "Principles of Meridians & Acupoints; A Guidebook for College Students", we matched frequent herbs and acupoints. Results : 1. There are 38 frequent herbs for study except Glycyrrhiza uralensis FISCH. because it was used for balance in herbal medicine. Arrange meridians in order of frequency, the most is 'Lung meridian'. Among the organs, the most related one with skin is 'Lung' and 'Lung meridian' can treat skin diseases. 2. We researched acupoints called 'specific acupoints' under elbow, knee because of clinical usage. Exceptively, SP6 and GV20 are not included in 'specific acupoints' but they can be effective for atopic dermatitis treatment. 3. Researching on MEDLINE about frequent herbs and acupoints, there are many studies that acupuncture is effective for reducing pruritus. Therefore, the acupoints which were mentioned in this study can be choosed for atopic dermatitis. Conclusions : We found several applicable acupoints for Atopic Dermatitis. We hope it will be useful in experiment such as randomized controllized trial on Atopic Dermatitis and acupuncture and futhermore in clinic.

Objectives : The authors aimed at contributing to the safety of acupuncture in the clinic by analyzing the information of contraindicated acupoints described in Uihakipmun. Methods : We investigated the contents related acupuncture contraindications in Uihakipmun, categorized the contraindicated acupoints by site and identified whether they can cause adverse events from the anatomical point of view. Results : In Uihakipmun, 49 acupoints - BL6, BL8, BL9, ST1, SI18, BL1, BL2, TE18, TE19, TE20, GB1, GB3, GV22, GV24, ST12, ST9, TE16, GV6, BL15, BL30, CV17, LU2, GB22, SP16, CV8, CV9, CV15, KI11, ST30, SP11, BL56, GB32, GB33, GB42, LI13, HT2, TE8, GV17, GB18, EX-HN11, GB21, GV11, GV10, ST17, CV5, CV1, ST42, SP6, LI4 - were described as contraindicated acupoints. Among them, the contraindications induced by acupuncture treatment were described for just 5 acupoints. Anatomically, acupuncture stimulation at the contraindicated acupoints can cause organ, nerve or vessel damage near the acupoints. And the number of contraindicated acupoints in Uihakipmun was increased compared to those in Hwangjenaegyeong, Chimgugabeulgyeong, Bigeupcheongeumyobang, Donginsuhyeolchimgudogyeong and Chimgujasaenggyeong. Conclusions : In Ming dynasty, the knowledge associated with adverse events on acupuncture was increased by the accumulation of medical knowledge. Acupuncture stimulation at the contraindicated acupoints described in Uihakipmun can cause tissue damage, therefore we should perform acupuncture procedure carefully to avoid adverse events when stimulating the contraindicated acupoints.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to find out relationship between Trigger points and Acupoints. Methods : We have researched some of oriental and western medical books about Trigger points and Acupoints from Quadratus lumborum to Deep intrinsic foot muscles. Conclusions : 40 acupoints correspond to trigger points among 67, which approximately accounts for 59 7% Including similar trigger points anatomically, it will show a doser correspondence between acupoints and trigger points.

Objectives : This research aimed to verify the validities of contraindicated acupoints in acupuncture or moxibustion treatments in Taipingshenghuifang and Tongrenzhenjiujing. Methods : We investigated contraindicated acupoints when performing needling or moxibustion in Taipingshenghuifang and Tongrenzhenjiujing, then verified them in various literatures and today's medical knowledge. Results : In Taipingshenghuifang and Tongrenzhenjiujing, 15 acupoints were described to need a careful approach in acupuncture treatment, and 24 acupoints were described so in moxibustion treatment in common. And additionally GB1 was described to need a careful moxibustion treatment in Taipingshenghuifang. Most of the descriptions for the contradindicated acupoints can be explained based on medical knowledge. Conclusions : The contraindicated acupoints in acupuncture or moxibustion treatments in Taipingshenghuifang and Tongrenzhenjiujing seem to have been classified based on the experience of the doctors at that time. Therefore they may be referred to for safe acupuncture or moxibustion treatments at these points.

Objectives : This study aims to catalogue contraindicated acupoints for needling in Chimgupyeon of Dongeuibogam and to determine implications for citation accuracy. Methods : We found and compiled contraindicated acupoints for needling and their citations in Chimgupyeon of Dongeuibogam, then verified the accuracy of the citations by comparing them with what was written in the cited literature. In cases where the citation is not exact, the correct reference was estimated by comparing it with the acupuncture literature. And the thoughts of Heo Jun were predicted based on inferences and papers investigating Dongeuibogam. Results : There are two sections on contraindicated acupoints for needling in Chimgupyeon of Dongeuibogam: the section on the 14 meridians and their acupoints, and the section on Geumchimhyeol. In the section on the 14 meridians and their acupoints, the number of contraindicated acupoints for needling are 29, and most of them are quoted from Donginsuhyeolchimgudogyeong. And in the section on Geumchimhyeol, 34 contraindicated acupoints for needling are listed from Geumchimhyeol in Uihakipmun. Most of the quotations were accurate, but some were summarized, and some were inaccurate. However, most of the inaccurate citations are probably Heo Jun's own thoughts based on other literature. Conclusions : The contraindicated acupoints for needling in Chimgupyeon of Dongeuibogam are assumed to have been written by Heo Jun based on his medical knowledge and literature, with an emphasis on practicality, and it is suggested that they are based on the contents of Donginsuhyeolchimgudogyeong and Uihakipmun in particular.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to invigorate the use of infrared thermal imaging apparatus as a diagnostic tool in Oriental medicine by providing standard temperature on specific acupoints. Methods: Subjects for the study was recruited through an advertisement in the school homepage(www.sangji.ac.kr) explaining the objectives and methods. 100 volunteers agreeing to terms were selected and measured the full body thermal image. Common acupoints used in the clinical surrounding were chosen and final 63 acupoints were selected for the measurement. Male/female and right/left readings were obtained for the analysis. Results: Following results were obtained from analyzing the body temperature of 50 male subjects and 50 female subjects 1. Subjects participating in the study ranged from 19 years of age to 44 years. Median male age at $26.86{\pm}6.02$ and female age at $22.88{\pm}2.74$, respectively. 2. For all acupoints, no significant differences were witnessed between the gender and right, left side of the body. 3. 10 acupoints from the facial region(18 bilateral), 8 acupoints from the chest/abdomen region(10 bilateral), 6 acupoints from the back region(11 bilateral), 17 acupoints from the upper extremity(34 bilateral), and 22 acupoints from the lower extremity(44 bilateral) were chosen. 4. In the facial region, BL2 showed the highest temperature and GV26 showed the lowest. 5. In the chest/abdomen region, CV22 showed the highest temperature and CV6 showed the lowest. 6. In the back region, GV14 showed the highest temperature and BL23 showed the lowest. 7. In the upper extremity region, jianqian(extra point) showed the highest temperature and baxie(extra point) showed the lowest. 8. In the lower extremity region, KI1 and bafeng(extra point) shoed the highest temperature and BL40 showed the lowest. Conclusions: Based on the standard body temperature measured on specific acupoints throughout the body, we hope these findings can trigger further studies on applications of infrared thermal imaging and clinical usage in the field of oriental medicine.

The aim of this study was to observe the effect of moxibustion at matched acupoints of ST36, ST37 and ST39 in rats with sex and age. This study measured small intestinal motility in rats. First, cauterize with moxa was applied to the ST36, ST37 and ST39 in rats classified by sex and age under enflurane anesthesia. And then same treatment is done to matched acupoints of ST36, ST37 and ST39. In each groups of ST36, ST37 and ST39, the small intestinal motility was increased in 5, 6, 8 weeks male and 5 weeks female rats at ST36, 6, 7 weeks male and 5, 6, 8 weeks female rats at ST37, 5, 6 weeks male and 5 weeks female rats at ST39. In matched acupoints, the small intestinal motility was increased in 5, 8 weeks male and 5, 6, 7, 8 weeks female rat at ST36+ST37, 5 weeks male and 6, 7, 8 weeks female rats at ST36+ST39, 5, 7 weeks male and 5, 8 weeks female rats at ST37+ST39. The effects of moxibustion at each acupoints decreased by advancing age and when these acupoints were combined, the effective results were shown in female rats of all age group. These results suggest that when each acupoints and matched acupoints was chosen in moxibustion treatment, the sex and age of individual is worth consideration.
