purpose : The purpose of the study is to investigate opinion on the legalization of the actual work of clinical dental hygienists. Methods : A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 171 dental hygienists in Busan and Gyeongnam from December 1, 2017 to January 31, 2018. Structured questionnaires were uesd for analysis. The collected data was analyzed using IBM SPSS. Statistic 20.0. Results : The first, assist of dental treatment, Second, dental health care education and consulting duties, and third priority preventive duties were found to be the most important duties in the dental office. Currently, it was investigated perform in a lot of workplace. Preventive treatment tasks include scaling, teeth polishing, applying fluoride and assist of dental treatment include preparation for medical care, preparation for implant surgery, preparation for oral surgery, implant surgery assistant and patient care training, and preparation for periodontal surgery. Conclusion : As a result, the dental hygienist performing a lot of dental assist tasks, oral health education counseling and preventive duties. Nonetheless, clinical dental hygienists are outlaws due to the disparity between practical and legal duties. Therefore, it is urgent to legislate actual duties of dental hygienist so that experts can fully exercise the competency of the public in promoting dental health. Relevant governments and related organizations should take reasonable measures to solve this problem.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to establish the standards for duty of Medical Care Client Managers and analyze the extent of accomplishment, importance, and difficulty according to the standards. Methods: The draft for duty of Medical Care Client Managers was formed by the method of developing a curriculum (DACUM) and data were collected from 185 Medical Aid Client Managers in 234 areas to evaluate the actual frequency of accomplishment, importance and difficulty in comparison with the standards for duties. Results: The standard duty draft for Medical Care Client Manager is composed of five separate groups of duties and thirty five tasks. The five duties are Case Management, Extension Approval, External Cause of Injury, Duplicate Claims and Other Administrations. Seven Tasks are allocated to each duty such as Case Management, Extension Approval and External Cause of Injury. Five tasks are allocated to 'Duplicate Claims' duty and nine tasks are allocated to 'Other Administrations' duty. Conclusion: From the results of analysis for duties, it was apprehensive about overburdened responsibilities and carelessness in professional duties. It was necessary to establish specific guidelines for duties because of redundent application or regional variation in frequency of accomplishing other administrative duties. It was necessary to relieve a regional disparity of business charge and also was necessary to propose an alternative plan to relieve the overburdened responsibilities.

If the participants in construction site safety management perform their duties in accordance with the provisions of the Industrial Safety and Health Act, the burden on safety managers would be minimal. However, the lack of specific work guidelines for each participating entity and the greater responsibility of the safety and health general manager than the management supervisor have resulted in safety managers' workload being increased due to the problem of management supervisors' neglect of safety management. In this study, we conducted a survey of the safety manager's duties and related documents during the construction project initiation, early stages, ongoing work, and disaster occurrence/investigation, and conducted interviews to improve and enhance the division of duties.
Background: The number and curriculum of dental hygienists in Korea have dramatically increased. Controversies have since resulted from insufficient job descriptions of the work performed by a dental hygienist. A dentist's perception was examined to legally reflect the actual work of dental hygienists. Methods: Four hundred and nineteen dentists were surveyed about the duties of a dental hygienist. Their views on the career and availability of each job were examined. The duties of the dental hygienist include 13 items in dental treatment preparation, 14 items of radiography, 21 items of preventive dentistry, 6 items of periodontal treatment, 12 items of oral medicine, 12 items of conservative dentistry, 8 items of prosthetics, 10 items of orthodontics, 7 items of oral and maxillofacial surgery, 6 items of implantation, 6 items of impression taking and model fabrication, 5 items of anesthesia and injection, 11 items of management and administrative, and 3 items of self-development. Results: Most of the duties were doable by a dental hygienist. Many dentists reported that managing implants, oral hygiene of special patients, some duties in oral medicine, teeth brightening, making temporary crowns, making individual trays, selecting shades, ligaturing, and precision impressions need ≥3 years of experience. Duties perceived by dentists not to be performed by dental hygienists were reading radiographs (55.4%), suture and stitch out (48.0%), intramuscular injection (36.0%), root planning (27.2%), cementation and removal of prostheses (23.2%), and examining pulp vitality (22.0%). Conclusion: Current laws are to be revised to include, the care provided by dental hygienists and under a physician's supervision. Flexibility is also needed to cope with rapidly changing dental technology.
This study's aim was to investigate their opinions to improve the educational system for dental hygienists on the basis of their duties as dental hygienists. The qualitative study was conducted among 19 dental hygienists at Daejeon, Korea from July to August 2016. Two researchers followed each subject for working hours in a day and recorded all the tasks and time to take for each task. After one day, the researchers met each subject and conducted face-to-face interviews to investigate the opinions about the dental hygiene curriculum and national board examination. The main duties recognized by more than half of the subjects were oral disease prevention including scaling and dental treatment assistance. The subjects' minority opinion about the main duties included radiography, impression taking, dental implant surgery assistance, orthodontic treatment, patient counseling, dental management and staff management, and oral health education. The most important tasks perceived by the subjects were prosthetic and implant impressions, scaling and implant surgery assistance. The subjects' minority opinion about the most important duties included patient counseling and making temporary crowns. The most difficult tasks answered by the subjects were prosthetic and implant impressions and dental implant surgery assistance. The subjects' minority opinion about it included patient counseling, scaling, and making temporary crowns. They mentioned that their curriculum in college was different from the actual work and the national board examination was not reflective of their real duties. We found out Korean dental hygienists had a lot of roles as dental assistants, dental business managers, and so on. We suggest that the law, curriculum and national board examination for dental hygienists should be revised to be able to reflect the reality of the clinical field.
The job of dental hygienists is specialized, and they have to be capable of performing their primary duties including prevention of oral diseases, oral prophylaxis, and oral health education. To ensure their successful job performance, dentists should have an accurate understanding of their duties and need a change of mind-set about them. And there should be written legal and concrete regulations on the coverage of their work in order to let them boost their job performance with pride and a sense of responsibility. The purpose of this study was to examine the actual roles and job performance of dental hygienists in clinical field in an attempt to discuss the substantial job performance of dental hygienists and their job enlargement. It's basically meant to help enhance the efficiency and quality of medical services. The subjects in this study were 471 dental hygienists in dental clinics, dental hospitals, university hospitals and general hospitals across the nation, on whom a survey was conducted in person from March 2 to 25, 2005. The collected data were analyzed with SPSS Win 12.0 program, and the findings of the study were as follows: 1. The major jobs they currently performed included oral health education, hospital management, simple duties, extensive dental hygiene duties and joint treatment assistance. They hoped to continue to be responsible for oral health education, preventive treatment and extensive dental hygiene duties. 2. As for their current job by age, extensive dental hygiene duties, preventive treatment, joint treatment assistance, preserving treatment, prosthetic treatment and pediatric treatment were most conducted by the dental hygienists who were at the age of 26 to less than 31, and those who were at the age of 31 and up were most responsible for hospital management and simple duties. 3. As to job awareness by workplace, their workload was statistically significantly different according to their workplace. The hospital employees took care of more work than those in clinics. 4. Concerning job awareness by age, the younger dental hygienists suffered more role conflicts and were given a less free hand in work handling, the middle-aged group's job was uncertain. Legal regulations about the coverage of their work should be prepared in detail as a measure to stir up their responsible job performance and pride. In order to take advantage of experienced dental hygienists, their duties should be more differentiated and specialized, and their working conditions should be improved to boost their job satisfaction. That is, they should be given ample chances for promotion and serving as a middle manager and be given fair treatment according to their career. If their work is accurately darified and specialized based on career, it will boost the efficiency of dental treatment. Dental hygienists also should direct sustained efforts into self-development in order to become a skilled and professional oral health personnel.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify role through job analysis (duties and tasks) of nurses who work as clinical nurses with education and clinical nurse with patient coordination within the hospital. Methods: The DACUM committee was organized with 8 nurses each, clinical nurses with education and clinical nurses with coordination. The committee derived the duties and tasks of the two groups of clinical nurses from their actual work in the hospital through a DACUM workshop. Validity of the derived duties and tasks was tested by 12 nurses at each of 3 hospital. Results: For clinical nurse with education, 8 duties and 45 tasks were identified, which included patient education and consultation, patient advocacy, management of the therapeutic process, direct nursing care, activities work directed at improvement, management of health promotion events, administration work, and self-improvement. For clinical nurse with coordination, 10 duties and 54 tasks were identified, and included client consultation, client education, direct nursing care, coordination of therapeutic flow, employee education, public relations with the community, planning and operation of meetings, administration work, work directed at improvement, and self-improvement. Conclusion: The results of this study contribute to not only the work of the participants but also basic data for human resource management in the hospital.
The purposes of this study were to investigate importance level and performance frequency of the dietitians' duties and task elements, to examine the actual condition of education and need for education, to analyze the interrelation between their tasks and education, and to provide the direction of education for the contracted Business & Industry (B & I) foodservice dietitians. The task elements of receiving, ordering, HACCP management and directing serving process were done almost every day. In terms of the importance of tasks, food sanitation management, personnel sanitation management, receiving and ordering were high. Meanwhile, the computerization of their works was being carried out on the whole, showing a higher frequency in all the details of procurement management and accounting management, as well as task elements such as menu planning, leftover and food waste management, HACCP management and human resource management. In the past three years, HACCP management, cost management, planning work schedule and allotting a task, general business and sale bond management were increased most and rapidly. For the actual condition of education, dietitians got more education for the duty of sanitation, safe and facility/utility management than any other duty, while they did less education of procurement management and office management than others. Meanwhile, the education for sanitation, safe and facility/utility management and accounting management were very much required. For the relationships of frequency of duty and the necessity of education, seven task elements including food sanitation management were correlated positively. Eighteen tasks besides menu planning had a significant positive correlation between the importance of duties and the necessity of education.
For the development of national competency standards to successfully perform the duties by systemizing the contents of education and training such as knowledge technology grounding required to perform the duties in the industrial field, the necessity has been raised in that it can solve the time and cost of re-investment through retraining and train high-quality human resources required in the industrial field. For the development of the education and training process with a focus on duty performers for the security sector classifying work and duties into 1:1 among sub-categories based on the NCS classification system, this study enhances the site suitability of security sector education and proposes the development of the practical education and training process required by the industry by using NCS development manual and DACUM technique, the worker-centered job analysis considering 'correlation' with the actual work, 'applicability' of progress and 'efficiency' for costs and time.
The study is conducted in order to identify whether there is difference in laboratory safety management committee and safety manager appointment for type of institutes(university, research institute, enterprise institute). The study conducted statistical analysis of 2484 institutes (university, research institute, enterprise institute) that attended 'current status of laboratory safety management' by year(number of current status participation). As a result, university showed increase in forming safety management committee as the number of current status(year) increases. The number of safety management committee held were the highest amongst all institutes being 2 held/2 year. Furthermore, period of safety management committee held at university and research institutes are decreasing stately. For 2014, the rate of hosting periodic committee and temporary committee simultaneously when necessary are increasing. The rate of appointing safety manager who is in charge of laboratory safety is increasing in university, but it is decreasing in research institute and enterprise institute. The work pattern of safety manager in university is increase in exclusive duties and decrease in adjunct duties, while work pattern in research institute and enterprise institute is more on the contract duties.
