PSEUDO-RELIABILITY MODEL OF COMBAT TANK SYSTEM

  • The effectiveness of an actual combat tank system is analyzed. A measure of effectiveness which includes performance and reliability called pseudo-reliability is introduced. A model is introduced to optimize the design of the system in which the system pseudo-reliability is maximized subject to cost constraint. This model is a nonlinear programming problem and is solved by the sequential unconstrained minimization technique (SUMT). A numerical exampl with actual data from the test evaluation of five combat tanks is used to illustrate the model.

  • Underground flexible pipes for electric cables are subject to external loads and surrounding soil pressure. Particularly, strain of flexible pipes is of great concern in terms of safety and maintenance for electric cables. In this study, the actual size tests were carried out to investigate strain-deformation relation for underground flexible pipes subject to vehicle loads with various depths and degree of compaction.

  • Characterization tests (load vs. displacement curve) are conducted for the springs of Zirconium alloy spacer grids for an advanced LWR fuel assembly. Twofold testing is employed: strap-based and assembly-based tests. The assembly-based test satisfies the in situ boundary conditions of the spring within the grid assembly. The aim of the characterization test via the aforementioned two methods is to establish an appropriate assembly-based test method that fulfills the actual boundary conditions. A characterization test under the spacer grid assembly boundary condition is also conducted to investigate the actual behavior of the spring in the core. The stiffness of the characteristic curve is smaller than that of the strap-wised boundary condition. This phenomenon may cause the strap slit condition. A spacer grid consists of horizontal and vertical straps. The strap slit positions are differentiated from each other. They affords examination of the variation of the external load distribution in the grid spring. Localized legions of high stress and their values are analyzed, as they may be affected by the spring shape. Through a comparison of the results of the test and FE analysis, it is concluded that the present assembly-based analysis model and procedure are reasonably well conducted and can be used for spring characterization in the core. Guidelines for improving the mechanical integrity of the spring are also discussed.

  • We have designed High Performance Prism LGP in 17 inch TFT-LCD. In test result to embody high brightness BLU in case of LGP of base and upper surface with 17 inch, thickness 8mm adding prism construct, it is superior brightness improvement than previous that of printing form about some 20% and in this course to embody actual material it succeeded prism LGP production by 17 inch injection form process.

  • This paper presented a actual conditions on a false-tripping of ELB(Electrical Leakage Breaker) and an assessment of the harmonics due to non-linear electronic equipment such as personal computers, printers, fax machines, and test equipments in several office buildings. Actual conditions on a failure of ELB were surveyed and analyzed by making up a question to safety managers of in office buildings. Also, power quality measurements such as harmonic currents, voltage and current waveforms and current imbalance were made at various office buildings where nuisance tripping of ELB is often occurred. The results of this study can be used in making decisions regarding cause of ELB trip and operating md tripping characteristics test of ELB when subjected to distorted current waveforms.

  • This paper in order to reduce the electric disaster damage which is caused by with electric equipment of traditional market developed the electric safety monitoring system which is suitable in traditional market. With for this did the actual condition investigation about electrical equipment of traditional market and we constructed Test-bed for testing reliability of electric safety monitoring system. Also experiment led in Test-bed and confirmed a stability. This paper following will be used with the data for the reliability security of the electric safe system operation which follows in the traditional market actual proof equipment construction which will be advanced.

  • It is to be classified into friendly environment and safety problems, as a main technology development of the recent automotive industry. As these tendency, lots of automobile companies focus on a reduction of fuel expenses and strengthen of crash safety using high strength steel. In this study advanced technologies such as tailored blanks, aluminum extrusion and high strength steel forming applied to bumper beam will be described. As a result of impact analysis and an actual impact test, in terms of beam performance and a possibility fur the mass production will be discussed.

Applying a genetic algorithm to a block layout (블록단위 설비배치를 위한 유전자 알고리듬의 적용)

  • The most research on facility layout problems ignored the actual shapes of activity spaces and the aisles between activities. In many cases, the research also ignored the actual shape of building where the activities are to be arranged. In this paper, We present a block based layout technique that applies a genetic algorithm to search for a very good facility layout with horizontal aisles. From the extensive experiments for two different cases with respect to the shape of activity space, it was found that the proposed method generated better layouts than the ones obtained by applying Tam's algorithm in all test problems. The proposed algorithm showed about 10% improvement of performance on the average. We determined the best combination of the reproduction rule and the genetic operators with their probabilities for each test problem through the experiment.

Study on Research for the Safety Education in Kindergarten (유치원 안전교육에 관한 조사 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to the real situation of the safety education in the kindergarten by investigating the actual condition of the safety education and kindergarten teachers' knowledge about it. Questionnaire was adopted to obtain data required for pertinent analysis. The subjects were 234 kindergarten teachers located in Choongnam and Daejeon province. SPSSWIN v10.0 was utilized to calculate percentage, mean and standard deviation and to conduct t-test, one-way ANOVA and Duncan's multiple range test. The main results of this study were as follows. There was a significant difference between the actual condition of the safety education and kindergarten teachers' knowledge about it according to demographic variables. Especially, these differences were due to teachers' academic career, age, teaching experience, and the experience of bringing up children by themselves. The importance of the safety education must be emphasized. There were urgent needs to develop the way of teaching and the program about the safety education.

  • New locomotives 8100 & series 8200, based on the BR152 of German railway are suitable for heavy-duty freight traffic as well as for passenger transport. This electric locomotive had applied by trial petition way and 57 car is operating in mainline and industrial line until now. As matter of fact, this has a purpose to help designing and manufacturing the new electric locomotive in these day when almost all the line is changing into the electric fire line. This thesis has a purpose to check whether the actual simulation value properly apply and meet the designing value, comparing the result of the simulation for the performance of developed locomotive with the result of the type test which can be proceed in actual locomotive in korea (evaluating both the design value and the performance of the real locomotive).
