  • Microsoft's ActiveX corresponding to the advanced type of COM based distributed application model is made available for the use of component communication[1]. ActiveX supports reuse of code and object linking, so developers can integrate many objects into application and improve the efficiency of development. Also, Integration of seperated application makes easy to develop customized program[2]. ActiveX, formerly used to develope communication application in Visual C++ or Visual Basic, has the efficiency of programming and is widely used in the M&C(Monitoring and Control) of instruments. In this paper, we will implement M&C application capable of remote operating, and besides, develop web browser and media player in the form of ActiveX control in order to control and monitor program remotely.

  • This thesis presents a kind of active noise control(ANC) algorithm for reducing noise due to engine inside a car. The proposed control algorithm is, by using WP(Wavelet Packet), a one improving the instability due to delay of noise transmission and the lack of response ability for the rapid change of noise, which are defects of the existing FXLMS(Filtered-X Least Mean Square) algorithm. The chief character of this system is a thing that faster operation than the FXLMS is implemented by inserting WP in the secondary path. In other words, WP implements parallel operation. Then, the weights of filter in the adaptive algorithm will be updated faster. In addition, because WP have so excellent a resolution, they can process very minute noise. The efficiency of this control algorithm will be demonstrated in the matlab simulation and in the actual experiments by using a Labview program and a car.

  • Active noise control technique has superior performance in low frequency ranges(50 .approx. 400Hz) to the conventional passive noise control technique. For the feasibility of active noise control, it is required to develop a controller which can implement control algorithm on real-time. In this study, therefore, real-time controller is developed using TMS320c25, high speed digital processor. Unlike conventional DSP board of complete ADD ON type, it is possible for the developed controller to interface with the other computer system easily by series communication for the convenience of program development. Furthermore it is designes to be separated readily as a control device. Active noise control of duct system is implemented ti evaluate a performance of developed device. Active noise control of duct system is implemented to evaluate a performance of developed controller using filtered-x LMS algorithm.

Development and Evaluation of a Program to Promote Self Management in Patients with Chronic Hepatitis B (만성 B형간염 환자를 위한 자가관리 프로그램의 개발 및 평가)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of the program to promote self management for patients with chronic hepatitis B. Methods: The research was a quasi-experimental design using a non-equivalent control group pre-post test. The participants were 61 patients, 29 in the experimental group and 32 in the control group. A pretest and 2 posttests were conducted to measure main variables. For the experimental group, the self-management program, consisting of counseling- centered activities in small groups, was given for 6 weeks. Data were analyzed using $X^2$, t-test, and repeated measures ANOVA with PASW statistics program. Results: There were statistically significant increases in knowledge, self-efficacy, active ways of coping, and self-management compliance but not in passive ways of coping in the experimental group compared to the control group over two different times. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that the self-management program is effective in increasing knowledge, self-efficacy, active ways of coping, and self-management compliance among patients with chronic hepatitis B. Therefore, it can be usefully utilized in the field of nursing for patients with chronic disease as a nursing intervention for people with chronic hepatitis B.

  • Nowadays most web rages provide various services by downloading the applications program such as ActiveX Control or Java Applet. To provide code integrity and publisher authentication of downloaded software in internet, we need code signing technology. In this paper, Authenticode technology of Microsoft is lust analyzed. Based on the analysis, we propose code signing certificate profile and applying method for National Public Key Infrastructure.

  • E-learning education methodology using the web has been as much activated with the introduction of the internet to our society. As for the web-based education, there is no exception in case of mathematics. However, when it comes to representing math equations by using HTML image tags, a type of web marked-up language, it can be hard to represent math equations that have structural features, and to do the search, resulting in the difficulty in reusing math related applications. Therefore, based on MathML and using ActiveX control technology, a math equation generating website was designed and implemented in this study. Since this system employed ActiveX control technology, it is possible to generate math equations without the limit of time and place on the web, and to manage the program with the most up-to-dale version. And in this system, it is also possible to save the math equations generated in this system to be referred to for their reuse in the future.

Design, analysis, and control of a variable electromotive-force generator with an adjustable overlap between the rotor and the stator

  • A variable electromotive-force generator (VEG), which is a modified generator with an adjustable overlap between the rotor and the stator, is proposed to expand the operational range of a regular generator through a simple and robust active control strategy. It has a broad range of applications in hybrid vehicles, wind turbines, water turbines, and similar technologies. A mathematical model of the VEG is developed, and a novel prototype is designed and fabricated. The performance of the VEG with an active control system, which adjusts the overlap ratio based on the desired output power at different rotor speeds for a specific application, is theoretically and experimentally studied. The results show that reducing the overlap between the rotor and the stator of the generator results in reduced torque loss of the generator and an increased rotational speed of the generator rotor. A VEG can improve the fuel efficiency of hybrid vehicles; it can also expand operational ranges of wind turbines and water turbines and harness more power.

Health Status, Health Behavior, and Health Promotion Program Needs of Industrial Male Workers according to Shift Work at an Workplace (일개 산업장 남성 근로자의 근무형태별 건강상태와 건강행위 및 건강증진 프로그램 요구도)

  • Purpose: This study was performed to identify the health status, healthy behavior, and health promotion program needs of day time and shift time industrial male workers at an workplace. Method: Relevant data were collected from June 20 to August 18, 2005. Questionaries were distributed to all subjects along with their medical records of 2005 and 151 sets of responses were used for the analysis. Collected data were analyzed using SPSS WIN 10.0. Result: 1. Health Status - day time and shift-time workers had significant differences in obesity ($x^2=8.38$, p<.01) and blood pressure ($x^2=-2.17$, p<.05). 2. Healthy Habits - Full-time and part-time workers had significant differences in regular meals (63.83, p<.01), preferred foods ($x^2=7.10$, p<.05), and sleep time (t=-3.55, p<.01). They also had significant differences in exercising ($x^2=13.11$, p<.01), exercising time (minutes) (t=-2.25, p<.01), and use of fitness centers ($x^2=7.02$, p<.05). 3. They also had significant differences in their needs of health programs ($x^2=8.66$, p<.01). Conclusion: This study revealed that day time and shift-time workers had differences in obesity and blood pressure, as well as differences in eating sleeping, and exercising patterns. Both groups needed 'fitness programs' more than any other types of health programs and picked 'weight loss' and 'stress control' programs for other options. Industrial nurses should be able to create appropriate health programs for each group based on the above results and induce the workers' active participation.

  • Since the world wide web, simple and convenient tool, has proposed, the Internet became the most simple network resource which provide many informations of the world. Furthermore, various methodologies are developed to support the dynamic service such as 3D View web service. We will propose the volume rendering view program that interactively visualize the 3D data on the web. The 3D Data is obtained by stacking the 2D images along the z-direction. We also employ the COM based OCX control which is a kind of Active component. This web program will contribute the diagnosis of the diseases through the 3D visualization and image analysis functions at remote places.

  • In recent years, a high-quality video input device has been generalized, and a central control system capable of simultaneously viewing video input in real time has become an essential element. At this time, there are attempts to access through the web without installing the program separately. However, if multiple high-quality videos are simultaneously viewed through the web browser, the web browser is terminated by force. In this paper, we propose a web-based HLS(HTTP Live Streaming) multi-view system for real-time high-definition video. We have reconstructed the multi-view screen as a screen by transcoding and implemented a system that can monitor multiple video inputs through a web browser on the fly without using security vulnerability ActiveX.
