  • In this work, active control algorithm is adopted to reduce delamination effects of the damaged composite structure and control performance with MFC actuator is numerically evaluated. Finite element model for the damaged composite structure with piezoelectric actuator is established based on improved layerwise theory. In order to achieve high control performance, MFC actuator, which has increased actuating force, is considered as a piezoelectric actuator. Mode shapes and corresponding natural frequencies for the damaged smart composite structure are studied. After design and implementation of active controller, dynamic characteristics of the damaged smart composite structure are investigated.

  • Active control of forced vibration of the cantilevered laminated composite plates using collocated piezoceramic sensor/actuator is analyzed numerically and verified experimentally for various fiber orientations. Impact on the stiffness and the damping properties is studied by varying stacking sequence of [$\theta$$_{4}$O$_{2}$90$_{2}$]s for the laminated composite plate. For the forced vibration control, the plate is excited by one pair of collocated PZT exciters in resonance and its vibrational response is suppressed by the other collocated PZT sensor/actuator using direct negative velocity feedback. It is shown that the active control of forced vibration is more effective for the smart laminated plate with higher modal damped stiffness(2ζ$\omega$/aup 2/) .

  • This paper presents an inertia type of piezostack based active mount fur unmanned aero vehicle (UAV) camera system. After identifying the stiffness and damping properties of the rubber element and piezostack a mechanical model of the active mount system is established. The governing equation of mount is then derived and expressed in a state space form. Subsequently, a sliding mode controller which is robust to uncertain parameters is designed in order to reduce the vibration imposed according to the military specification associated with UAV camera mount system operation. Control performances such as acceleration and transmitted force are evaluated through both computer simulation and experimental implementation.

  • The supersonic flutter suppression of a cantilevered plate wing is studied with the finite element method and the quasi-steady aerodynamic theory. We suppress wing flutter by using piezoelectric materials and electric devices. Two approaches to flutter suppression using piezoelectric materials are presented; an energy-recycling semi-active approach and a negative capacitance approach. To assess their flutter suppression performances, we simulate flutter dynamics of the plate wing to which piezoelectric patches are attached. The critical dynamic pressure drastically increases with our flutter control using a negative capacitor.

  • In this paper we present a new current-mode electronically tunable universal filter using only plus-type current controlled conveyors (CCCII+s) and grounded capacitors. The proposed circuit can simultaneously realize lowpass, bandpass, and highpass filter functions - all at high impedance outputs. The realization of a notch response does not require additional active elements. The circuit enjoys an independent current control of parameters $\omega_0$ and $\omega_0/Q$. No element matching conditions are imposed. Both its active and passive sensitivities are low.

  • A general active RC network synthesis procedure which realizes any stable transfer function is described. The network elements are only R's, C's and OA's, and the network configuration are well suited for construction using thin-film RC networks and integrated cil'suit operational amplifiers. Poles and transmission zeros can be adjusted independently to each other and are qu;te insensitive to element variations.

  • A planar active retrodirective four-element array with subharmonic phase conjugation mixers based on anti-parallel diode pairs (APDPs) is proposed. As compared to previous phase conjugation mixers using twice RF frequency for LO frequency, the proposed conjugation mixers need only half RF frequency so that it can be easily applied for millimeter-wave applications. Receiving, transmitting, local oscillator, and intermediate frequencies are 5.79, 5.81, 2.9 GHz, and 10 MHz. Monostatic RCS and Bistatic RCS measurements at source locations of $0^{\circ},\;-20^{\circ},\;and\;28^{\circ}$ show good agreement with the calculated data.

  • In this paper, the dipole antenna that can control a beam steering were designed for attaching on LEO(Low Earth Orbit) small satellite. The proposed antenna was based on Yagi-Uda antenna. The parasitic element was proposed as a T-shape. Depending on the state of open or short at the end of a vertical element, we can choose a characteristic of the parasitic element with fixing a vertical element length of the parasitic element. Using this characteristic, we designed the director element and reflector element. The proposed antenna was designed to receive UHF 436.5 MHz. Antenna gain was chosen by link budget between one satellite and the other satellite or between the satellite and the ground station. By changing a vertical element length which is the largest variable that chooses an antenna characteristic, we confirmed that ${\lambda}/2$ length transformer has a result that improve 0.5 dB in comparison ${\lambda}/4$ length transformer from maximum gain direction. In production, we made an on/off switch composed of a diode, capacitor, and inductor control an open and short at the end of the parasitic element. As a result, the gain of antenna used in a link between one satellite and the other satellite had average 5.92 dBi. And the gain of antenna used in a link between the satellite and the ground station had average 0.99 dBi.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the stress distribution in the periodontal tissue and the displacement of teeth when active torque was applied to the maxillary incisors by three-dimensional finite element analysis A three-dimensional finite element model consisted of the maxillary teeth and surrounding periodontal membrane, $.022{\times}.028$ Roth prescription bracket and stainless steel, NiTi and TMA rectangular ideal arch wires which were modeled by hexahedron elements. Applied active torques were 2, 5 and 10 degrees ThHe findings of this study showed that the reaction force acting or the bracket was the extrusion force on the mesial side of the incisors and canine and the intrusion force on the distal side of the incisors and canine. The amount of force and moment was greatest at the lateral incisor. When active anterior labial crown torque was applied. labial crown and distal tipping and Intrusion of the incisors took place. and lingual crown distal tipping and extrusion of the canine occured. An excessive force was concentrated on the lateral incisor, when the stainless steel wire was used NiTi or TMA wire is desirable for torque control.
