Visual Tracking Using Improved Multiple Instance Learning with Co-training Framework for Moving Robot

  • Object detection and tracking is the basic capability of mobile robots to achieve natural human-robot interaction. In this paper, an object tracking system of mobile robot is designed and validated using improved multiple instance learning algorithm. The improved multiple instance learning algorithm which prevents model drift significantly. Secondly, in order to improve the capability of classifiers, an active sample selection strategy is proposed by optimizing a bag Fisher information function instead of the bag likelihood function, which dynamically chooses most discriminative samples for classifier training. Furthermore, we integrate the co-training criterion into algorithm to update the appearance model accurately and avoid error accumulation. Finally, we evaluate our system on challenging sequences and an indoor environment in a laboratory. And the experiment results demonstrate that the proposed methods can stably and robustly track moving object.

  • 웹의 발달로 세계 각국에서는 웹상에서 교육할 수 있는 코스웨어 개발이 활발히 진행되고 있다. 비주얼 베이직 언어도 웹기반 교육으로 많이 개발되고 있으나 실용적인 내용과 실습을 필요로 하는 주제임에도 불구하고 실습 환경이나 다양한 상호작용을 제공하지 않아 학습 효과를 높이지 못하고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 웹기반 교수-학습 체제 설계모형을 기반으로 하여 1) 멀티미디어 요소를 가미하고 2) 실습환경으로 학습자의 학습효과를 높이고 3) 학습자의 반응을 분석, 평가하여 적절한 피드백을 제공하고 4) 학습자들간의 상호작용이 활발히 이루어질 수 있도록 하기 위해 5) Real Active X등의 기술을 이용해 멀티미디어 코스웨어를 개발하고 이를 학교 현장에 적용시켜 보았다.

소량 및 불균형 능동소나 데이터세트에 대한 딥러닝 기반 표적식별기의 종합적인 분석 (Comprehensive analysis of deep learning-based target classifiers in small and imbalanced active sonar datasets)

  • 본 논문에서는 소량 및 불균형 능동소나 데이터세트에 적용된 다양한 딥러닝 기반 표적식별기의 일반화 성능을 종합적으로 분석하였다. 서로 다른 시간과 해역에서 수집된 능동소나 실험 데이터를 이용하여 두 가지 능동소나 데이터세트를 생성하였다. 데이터세트의 각 샘플은 탐지 처리 이후 탐지된 오디오 신호로부터 추출된 시간-주파수 영역 이미지이다. 표적식별기의 신경망 모델은 다양한 구조를 가지는 22개의 Convolutional Neural Networks(CNN) 모델을 사용하였다. 실험에서 두 가지 데이터세트는 학습/검증 데이터세트와 테스트 데이터세트로 번갈아 가며 사용되었으며, 표적식별기 출력의 변동성을 계산하기 위해 학습/검증/테스트를 10번 반복하고 표적식별 성능을 분석하였다. 이때 학습을 위한 초매개변수는 베이지안 최적화를 이용하여 최적화하였다. 실험 결과 본 논문에서 설계한 얕은 층을 가지는 CNN 모델이 대부분의 깊은 층을 가지는 CNN 모델보다 견실하면서 우수한 일반화 성능을 가지는 것을 확인하였다. 본 논문은 향후 딥러닝 기반 능동소나 표적식별 연구에 대한 방향성을 설정할 때 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.

퍼지 학습법을 이용한 crane의 과도 진동 제어 (Control for crane's swing using fuzzy learning method)

  • An active control for the swing of crane systems is very important for increasing the productivity. This article introduces the control for the position and the swing of a crane using the fuzzy learning method. Because the crane is a multi-variable system, learning is done to control both position and swing of the crane. Also the fuzzy control rules are separately acquired with the loading and unloading situation of the crane for more accurate control. The result of simulations shows that the crane is just controlled for a very large swing angle of 1 radian within nearly one cycle.

방향성 프로파일을 적용한 능동형태 모델 (Active Shape Model with Directional Profile)

  • Active shape model is widely used in the field of image processing especially on arbitrary meaningful shape extraction from single gray level image. Cootes et. al. showed efficient detection of variable shape from image by using covariance and mean shape from learning. There are two stages of learning and testing. Hahn applied enhanced shape alignment method rather than using Cootes's rotation and scale scheme. Hahn did not modified the profile itself. In this paper, the method using directional one dimensional profile is proposed to enhance Cootes's one dimensional profile and the shape alignment algorithm of Hahn is combined. The performance of the proposed method was superior to Cootes's and Hahn's. Average landmark estimation error for each image was 27.72 pixels and 39.46 for Cootes's and 33.73 for Hahn's each.

Active Noise Cancellation using a Teacher Forced BSS Learning Algorithm

  • In this paper, we propose a new Active Noise Control (ANC) system using a teacher forced Blind Source Separation (BSS) algorithm. The Blind Source Separation based on the Independent Component Analysis (ICA) separates the desired sound signal from the unwanted noise signal. In the proposed system, the BSS algorithm is used as a preprocessor of ANC system. Also, we develop a teacher forced BSS learning algorithm to enhance the performance of BSS. The teacher signal is obtained from the output signal of the ANC system. Computer experimental results show that the proposed ANC system in conjunction with the BSS algorithm effectively cancels only the ship engine noise signal from the linear and convolved mixtures with human voice.

월쉬변환영역 유전자 알고리즘에 의한 능동소음제어 (Acitve Noise Control via Walsh Transform Domain Genetic Algorithm)

  • This paper presents an active noise control algorithm via Walsh transform domain controller learned by genetic algorithm. Typical active noise control algorithms such as the filtered-x lms algorithm are based on the gradient algorithm. Gradient algorithm have two major problems; local minima and eigenvalue ratio. To solve these problems, we propose a combined algorithm which consist of genetic learning algorithm and discrete Walsh transform called Walsh Transform Domain Genetic Algorithm(WTDGA). Analyses and computer simulations on the effect of Walsh transform to the genetic algorithm are performed. The results show that WTDGA increase convergence speed and reduce steady state errors.

수학 학습부진아 예방을 위한 가정학습 효율화 방안 연구 (A Study on a Home Teaching Method to Prevent Slow Learner in Elementary School Mathematics)

  • The purpose of this paper is to present a specific set of home teaching methods in hopes to prevent slow learner of the elementary mathematics. This paper deals with the number and operations, one of five topics in the elementary mathematics A survey of two hundred elementary school teachers was made to see the teacher's opinions of the role of home studying and to concretize the contents of the research topics. There were asked which is the most essential contents for the concrete loaming and which is the most difficult monad that might cause slow leaner. And those were found to be; counting, and arithmetic operations(addition and subtraction) of one or two-digit numbers and multiplication and their concepts representations and operations(addition and subtraction) of fractions. The home teaching methods are based on the situated learning about problem solving in real life situations and on the active teaming which induces children's participation in the process of teaching and learning. Those activities in teaching each contents are designed to deal with real objects and situations. Most teaching methods are presented in the order of school curriculum. To teach the concepts of numbers and the place value, useful activities using manipulative materials (Base ten blocks, Unifix, etc.) or real objects are also proposed. Natural number's operations such as addition, subtraction and multiplication are subdivided into small steps depending upon current curriculum, then for understanding of operational meaning and generalization, games and activities related to the calculation of changes are suggested. For fractions, this paper suggest 10 learning steps, say equivalent partition, fractional pattern, fractional size, relationship between the mixed fractions and the improper fraction, identifying fractions on the number line, 1 as a unit, discrete view point of fractions, comparison of fractional sizes, addition and subtraction, quantitative concepts. This research basically centers on the informal activities of kids under the real-life situation because such experiences are believed to be useful to prevent slow learner. All activities and learnings in this paper assume children's active participation and we believe that such active and informal learning would be more effective for learning transfer and generalization.

  • 본 논문은 정보검색, 정보추출, 번역, 자연어처리 등의 작업을 위한 통계적 방법론에서 필요한 학습 데이터 구축을 효율적으로 하기 위한 학습 데이터 반자동 구축 장치 및 그 방법에 대하여 기술한다. 본 논문에서는 학습 데이터 구축양을 줄이기 위해서 능동 학습을 이용한다. 또한 최근 각광 받고 있는 Conditional Random Fields(CRF)를 능동학습에 이용하기 위해서 CRF를 이용한 Confidence measure를 정의한다.

Paying Attention to Students and Promoting Students' Mathematics Understanding

  • Promoting students' mathematics understanding is an important research theme in mathematics education. According to general theories of learning, mathematics understanding is close to active learning or significant learning. Thus, if a teacher wants to promote his/her students' mathematics understanding, he/she should pay attention to the students so that the students' thinking is in active situation. In the first part of this paper, some mathematics teachers' ideas about paying attention to their students in Chinese high school are given by questionnaire and interview. In the second part of this paper, we give some teaching episodes about how experienced mathematics teachers promote their students' mathematics understanding based on paying attention on them.
