  • Effects of Astragali Radix Water Extract (ARWE) on the blood pressure were investigated in the whole rabbit and the spinalized rabbit. ARWE, when administered into the ear-vein or lateral ventricle, produced a fall in the blood pressure in the whole rabbit, but intravenous ARWE in the spinalized rabbit did not elicite the hypotensive action. Pretreatments with chlorisondamine, guanethidine, phentolamine and cyproheptadine in the whole rabbit weakened the depressor action of ARWE. The hypotensive action of the whole rabbit to ARWE was not influenced by the pretreatment of the animals with diphennylhydramine, propranolol, and vagotomization, whereas inhibited by atropine. ARWE did not affect the pressor response by angiotensin. However, it enhanced the hypertensive action by norepineprine and reduced the elevation in the blood pressure by carotid occlusion in the whole rabbit. These experimental observations suggest that ARWE may cause the depressor response via mechanisms of the central sympathetic blocking action, cholinergic action by peripheral origin and serotonin-like action.

  • This study was performed to elucited the mechanisms of the antidiuretic action by SKP-450, a $K^+$ channel opener, given into the vein, and of the diuretic action observed only in the ipsilateral kidney, when given into a renal artery, in dog. The antidiuretic action of SKP-450 was not affected by renal denervation or pretreatment with glibenclamide, a ATP-dependent $K^+$ channel blocker. The diuretic action of SKP-450 was inhibited by renal denervation or pretreatment with glibenclamide. SKP-450 given into carotid artery had little effect on renal function. These results suggest that the antidiuretic action of SKP-450 given into the vein is caused by some endogenous substances probably not related to $K^+$ channel, whereas the diuretic action of SKP-450 observed only in ipsilateral kidney, when given into a renal artery, is provoked through $K^+$ channel related to renal nerves.

  • This study was performed to elucidate the mechanism of antidiuretic action of diltiazem by infusion into the vein and carotid artery, of diuretic action into a renal artery in dog. Renal denervation caused a reversal of the effect of diltiazem from the antidiuretic to the diuretic when infused into vein or carotid artery, and potentiated the diuretic effect when infused into a renal artery. The changes of renal function in diuretic circumstances as described above included the increase in renal plasma flow, osmolar clearance, the amounts of sodium and potassium excreted in urine and the decrease in reabosrption rate of sodium and potassium in renal tubules. Above results suggest that antidiuretic action of diltiazem may be mediated by central nervous system, not by endogenous substance, diuretic action by direct renal action.

  • Community action is an essential component for health promotion. Through effective community action, a community can gain control over its health & health determinants, and improve the quality of its life. The Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion (WHO, 1984)stated that a health promotion program that stimulates and strengthens community health activity is one of the five main action areas in the field of health promotion. This paper reviews the meaning and key concept of community health promotion action, and discusses ways to strengthen community action as defined by the Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion. It discusses the principle of community participation for health promotion, and, taking a successful example of a community-based health promotion program, it provides an illustrative example of how to build partnerships and coalitions in a community. Community development theories for community-based approaches are also introduced, along with their key concepts. Finally, the paper assesses the barriers to effective community health promotion action in Korea, and proposes several strategies for strengthening community action for health promotion.

  • Online action detection (OAD) in a streaming video is an attractive research area that has aroused interest lately. Although most studies for action understanding have considered action recognition in well-trimmed videos and offline temporal action detection in untrimmed videos, online action detection methods are required to monitor action occurrences in streaming videos. OAD predicts action probabilities for a current frame or frame sequence using a fixed-sized video segment, including past and current frames. In this article, we discuss deep learning-based OAD models. In addition, we investigated OAD evaluation methodologies, including benchmark datasets and performance measures, and compared the performances of the presented OAD models.

  • Musicals are plays in which songs and dances are closely aligned with the plot development of the play, and songs and dances develop specific situations and a series of events. In particular, songs perform a fuction of causing the significant changes and emotional ventilation and amplification in the play by specifically capturing the goals and actions the characters are aiming for. This paper focuses on the song that takes on the function of the plot deployment, defines songs that embody actions and stories on stage' as 'action songs' and highlights their role and importance. Action Song is not a clearly defined or prescribed term in Musical. However, 'Action Song' is a song about how a character's desire or motivation for action, given as a 'character song' inserted at the beginning of an integrated musical play, provides a conflict that is a central event of action. In other words, 'action song' means a song that organically combines music and narrative by conveying the action on the stage as a song with lyrics. In addition, it is a song that moves the plot forward and contains a series of events or actions that are the material of the plot. This paper is intended to summarize the concept of'Action song which is not well known to us, and to lay the foundation of the stud, learned the concept, function and efficiency by the analyses of script and music of the musical . As a result, action songs accumulate and amplify tension caused by conflicts and induce the audience to immerse in their emotions. At the same time, the action song multiplies fun and interest of the play while the audience's expectation increased for the next scene after the action song and the progression of the play with single action makes the contents of the drama to be understood clearly.

  • In this paper, we propose the method of multiple human action recognition on video clip. For being invariant to the change of speed or size of actions, Spatial-Temporal Pyramid method is applied. Proposed method can minimize the complexity of the procedures owing to select Motion Gradient Histogram (MGH) based on statistical approach for action representation feature. For multiple action detection, Motion Energy Image (MEI) of binary frame difference accumulations is adapted and then we detect each action of which area is represented by MGH. The action MGH should be compared with pre-learning MGH having pyramid method. As a result, recognition can be done by the analyze between action MGH and pre-learning MGH. Ten video clips are used for evaluating the proposed method. We have various experiments such as mono action, multiple action, speed and site scale-changes, comparison with previous method. As a result, we can see that proposed method is simple and efficient to recognize multiple human action with stale variations.

  • The purpose of this study was to find out what impact climate action has on study participants and why climate action education is difficult in high schools. For this purpose, a basic qualitative research method was selected, and the study participants were five middle school students at the time of the activity. The results of this study are as follows. Due to the climate action in middle school, the participants' career path changed specifically and their climate literacy was cultivated. And climate action education in high schools was not enough. Environmental subjects that provide climate action education were difficult to open because they were not chosen by many students, and it was unrealistic to provide climate action education during creative experiential activities due to the burden of college entrance exams. The discussion points of this study are as follows. Climate action needs to be encouraged among middle school students because it helps shape career paths and cultivate climate literacy. Additionally, because sustainability is important in climate action, there is a need to establish specialized courses in climate action education in the curriculum of elementary, middle, and high schools so that climate literacy can be maintained consistently.
