탄성표면파의 반사계수를 이용한 파괴응력의 해석 (The analysis of fracture stress using reflection coefficient of surface acoustic wave)

  • 본 연구에서는 취약한 고체의 표면에 존재하는 crack에 탄성표면파를 입사 시켰을 때 발생하는 반사계수를 측정하여 파괴응력을 해석하는 방법을 연구 분석하였다. Crack이 존재하는 취약한 고체에서의 파괴응력은 임계응력확대계수와 정규화된 최대응력확대계수의 함수로써 나타나며, 이 때 정규화된 최대응력확대계수는 탄성표면파의 반사계수를 측정하여 구할 수 있었다. 실험을 위하여 Pyrex glass원판 중앙에 깊이가 0.5mm~0.9mm인 crack을 제작하였고, SAW wedge transducer를 피치캐치(pitch-catch) 모드로 구성하여 반사계수를 측정하고 파괴응력값을 산출하였으며 UTM(Universal Testing Machine)으로 측정한 값과 비교 분석하였다.

  • This paper discribes an improved technique for locating partial discharge sites within operating transformers by ultrasonic method which utilizes the different travel times of the electrical and ultrasonic signals produced by partial discharges to determine the location of the sources. The technique was to develope the measurement system based on the enhancement of the acoustic emission signals using signal square, circuit to improve the detectable sensitivity and reliability. Also an ultrasonic pulse generator was designed and made to transmit periodically pulses equivalent to pratial discharges and to check the good performance of the system, echo effects and self-diagnosis. Through the laboratory work, it was confirmed that the system and the generator can be used satisfactorily for diagnosing power transformers and for studying echo effects and self-diagnosis of the system.

  • In this work, the effects of space charge was analyzed in removal efficiency of pollutant using dielectric barrier discharges. In order to investigate effects of space charge, two dielectrics(XLPE and TR-XLPE) was chosen which are different in space charge distribution. The simultaneously measurement of space charge and discharge current was carried out in XLPE and TR-XLPE with air gap by Pulsed-Electro-Acoustic Method in ac. Also, the removal efficiency is measured by classical ozone generator(von Siemens 1875). From the experimental results, we knew that the space charge distribution affects the discharge patterns. The more space charge is in surface, the quickly discharge initiates and the magnitude of discharge is increased when polarity changes. And these affect the removal efficiency of pollutant.

900MHz대역 수신기용 RF 특성평가보드의 설계 및 제작 (Design and Fabrication of RF evaluation board for 900MHz)

  • 본 연구에서는 900MHz대역 수신기용으로 선행 개발되어진 RF 칩세트를 장착한 RF 특성평가 보드를 개발하였으며, 환경평가시험을 수행하였다. 선행 개발되어진 RF-IC 칩에는 저잡음증폭기, 하향변조 주파수혼합기, AGC Amp, SW-CAP 필터 등을 포함하고 있으며, 이에 따른 정합회로와 RF/IF SAW 필터, 듀플렉서 필터 및 전원공급회로를 RF 특성평가보드에 첨가하여 제작하였다. 공급전원은 2.7에서 3.6V이며, RF 보드의 소모전류는 42mA로 나타났으며, 동작 주파수는 RF 입력이 925~960MHz으로 제작, 측정되었다. 측정결과 일반적인 900MHz용 디지털 이동통신단말기의 RF 수신특성과 유사하게 양호한 결과를 보였다.

F0 Perturbation as a Perceptual Cue to Stop Distinction in Busan and Seoul Dialects of Korean

  • Recent investigation of acoustic correlates of Korean stop manner contrasts has reported a diachronic transition in Korean stops: young Seoul speakers are relatively more dependent on the F0 characteristics of the stops than on the VOT characteristics in aspirated and lenis stop distinction. This finding has been examined against tonal dialects of Korean and the results suggested that the speakers of tonal dialects are not sharing the transition. These results also suggested that F0 function for segmental stop classification interferes with the function for lexical tone classification in their tonal speech. The current study investigated these findings in terms of perception. Perceptual behavior of Seoul and Busan speakers of Korean was examined in a comparative manner through the measurement of perceptual cue weight of F0 and VOT in particular. The results from regression and correlation analyses revealed that Busan speakers are closer to older Seoul speakers than to younger Seoul speakers in that the cue weight for VOT and F0 were comparable in the aspirated-lenis stop distinction. This result was in contrast to the perceptual behavior of younger Seoul speakers who showed clear dominance of F0 over VOT for the same distinction. These findings provided perceptual evidence of the dual function of F0 for segmental and lexical distinctions in tonal dialects of Korean.

  • An electromagnetic acoustic transducers (EMAT) can usually generate or detect an ultrasonic wave into specimens across a small gap. Especially stiffness of composites depends on layup sequence of CFRP(carbon fiber reinforced plastics) laminates because the layup of composite laminates influences there properties. It is very important to evaluate the layup errors in prepreg laminates. A nondestructive technique can therefore serve as a useful measurement for detecting layup errors. It was shown experimentally that this shear waves for detecting the presence of the errors is very sensitive. It is found that high probability shows between tests and the model developed in characterizing cured layups of the laminates. Also a C-scan method was used for detecting layup of the laminates because of extracting fiber orientation information from the ultrasonic reflection caused by structural imperfections in the laminates. Therefore, it was found that interface C-scan images show the fiber orientation information by using two-dimensional fast Fourier transform(2-D FFT).

  • The Time Difference of Arrival (TDOA) algorithm is being used widely for identifying the location of a source emanating either electrical or acoustic signal. It's application areas will not be limited to identifying the source at a fixed location, for example the origin of an earthquake, but will also include the trajectory monitoring for a moving source equipped with a GPS sensor. Most of the TDOA algorithm uses time correlation technique to find the time delay between received signals, and therefore difficult to be used for identifying the location of multiple sources. In this paper a TDOA algorithm based on cross-spectrum is developed to find the trajectory of two sound sources with different frequencies. Although its application is limited to for the sources on a disk plane, but it can be applied for identifying the locations of more than two sources simultaneously.

  • The present study describes an experimental work to reduce supersonic jet noise using a control wire device that is placed into the supersonic jet stream. The jet pressure ratio is varied to obtain the supersonic jets which are operated in a wide range of over-expanded to moderately under-expanded conditions. The wire device is composed of long cylinders with a very small diameter. X-type wire device is applied to control the supersonic jet noise, and its location is varied to investigate the effect of the control wire device on supersonic jet noise. A high-quality Schlieren optical system is used to visualize the flow field of supersonic jet with and without the control wire device. Acoustic measurement is performed to obtain the overall sound pressure level and noise spectra. The results obtained show that the present wire device destroys the shock-cell structures, reduces the shock strength, and consequently leading to a substantial suppression of supersonic jet noise.

A Study on Attitude Heading Reference System Based Micro Machined Electro Mechanical System for Small Military Unmanned Underwater Vehicle

  • Generally, underwater unmanned vehicle have adopted an inertial navigation system (INS), dead reckoning (DR), acoustic navigation and geophysical navigation techniques as the navigation method because GPS does not work in deep underwater environment. Even if the tactical inertial sensor can provide very detail measurement during long operation time, it is not suitable to use the tactical inertial sensor for small size and low cost UUV because the tactical inertial sensor is expensive and large. One alternative to INS is attitude heading reference system (AHRS) with the micro-machined electro mechanical system (MEMS) inertial sensor because of MEMS inertial sensor's small size and low power requirement. A cost effective and small size attitude heading reference system (AHRS) which incorporates measurements from 3-axis micro-machined electro mechanical system (MEMS) gyroscopes, accelerometers, and 3-axis magnetometers has been developed to provide a complete attitude solution for UUV. The AHRS based MEMS overcome many problems that have inhibited the adoption of inertial system for small UUV such as cost, size and power consumption. Several evaluation experiments were carried out for the validation of the developed AHRS's function and these experiments results are presented. Experiments results prove the fact that the developed MEMS AHRS satisfied the required specification.

상용차용 SCR 머플러의 방사소음 개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Improvement of Radiated Noise in SCR Muffler of Commercial Vehicle)

  • This study presents the design modification for SCR muffler of a commercial vehicle. Its main objective is the reduction of radiated noise at SCR muffler. For this study, the research of five steps were achieved by experimental and CAE analysis. First step is the measurement of radiated noise using impact-acoustic test. Second step is the source identification using experimental modal analysis. The cause of radiated noise source is confirmed by the resonance of end plates at SCR muffler. Third step confirms the possibility of resonance avoidance using SDM analysis applied the mass control. Fourth step is the suggestion of design modification which is the change of mode shape by CAE analysis. Last step is the verification of design modification using SYSNOISE analysis. Finally, the prototype product applied the countermeasure of resonance evasion was manufactured and the reduction of radiated noise at SCR muffler was confirmed by pass-by noise test.
