A Study on LED Dimming Control Platform Based on XML (확장성표기언어 기반의 LED 조광제어 플랫폼에 관한 연구)

  • In the study, an XML based platform is presented for LED dimming control. The XML platform is designed in an open architecture, providing with interoperability and scalability. Also, it enables the accommodation of off-the-shelf wired and wireless communication protocols and make it fast and easy to implement various application programs for LED dimming, comparing to the legacy platforms. In the study, a test best has been built for demonstration of the merits of the XML platform with dimming control by responding to the scenario of demand response event. Benefit calculation of the power saving and incentive from demand response shows the applicability and usefulness of the XML platform.

Study on Proximal Convergence/Accommodation(PC/A) Ratio by Comparison of Gradient AC/A Ratio and Calculated AC/A Ratio (Gradient AC/A비와 Calculated AC/A비의 비교에 의한 근접성 폭주비(PC/A)에 관한 연구)

  • In most previous studies, the assessment of accommodative convergence to accommodative stimulus (AC/A) ratio was commonly made by measuring gradient AC/A ratio. This study deals with the proximal convergence/accommodation(PC/A)ratio measured by comparing values of the gradient AC/A ratio and the calculated AC/A ratio to prevail the clinical use of the AC/A ratio. Visual acuities of All 124 subjects had been corrected to at least 1.0 with either eye through their habitual refractive correction and the MEM dynamic retinoscopy was performed to estimate their accommodative response. And then the PC/A ratio was calculated by making use of the calculated AC/A ratio and the gradient AC/A ratio. This study showed that the difference between the mean calculated AC/A ratio and the mean gradient AC/A ratio in subgroups may be attributable to proximal convergence. Consequently, further studies on proximity cues including the PC/A ratio could be helpful to prevail the clinical use of the AC/A ratio.

Evaluation of Visual Responses in Viewing a 3D Image (3D 영상 시청 시 시각반응의 평가)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to measure and evaluate changes of visual responses in viewing a 2D and 3D (three-dimensional) image. Methods: The subjects were 44 college students aged 19 to 25 years with normal binocular vision. The visual responses measured were CA/C (convergence accommodation/convergence) ratio, convergence-induced PD(interpupillary distance), accommodative responses, perceived distance in viewing a 3D image. Results: Convergence and accommodative responses in viewing the 3D image were significantly larger (p<0.05) than in 2D. A moderate positive correction was found between CA/C ratio and accommodative response (r = 0.477, p = 0.001). It was indicated that smaller PD had larger depth perception. Convergence in viewing the 3D image was significantly larger (p<0.05) than that at cognitive distance. Conclusions: The visual fatigue may be more intense in larger CA/C ratio and smaller PD when viewing 3D images.

  • O2O(Online-to-Offline) commerce, a kind of multi-channel, is used in various industries such as accommodation, food and beverage, transportation, and real estate. The O2O commerce, a channel of integrating online and offline, overcomes the limitations of traditional online commerce, where a customer made a purchase decision without direct experience. Despite this advantage of O2O, if the online-offline channel is not effectively linked, customer's complaints would occur due to service failure. This study, with regard to O2O service failure circumstances, intends to investigate the effect of customer's perceived justice on their emotional response, recovery satisfaction, followed by intention to repurchase. Perceived justice in this study is composed of distributive justice, interactional justice, and procedural justice. Furthermore, this study explores the moderation effect of O2O industry types in the relationship between perceived justice and emotion. An O2O industry type is classified into accommodation, food and beverage, and transportation. A hypothesized research model was empirically tested using a structural equation model. The current study collected 433 questionnaires and the target respondents are customers who have experienced service failure in O2O commerce. The empirical results showed that O2O commerce more effectively conducts service recovery strategy and causes positive customer response by integrating online and offline channel. One of the ultimate purposes of O2O service providers is to reduce the likelihood of service failures and to recover more quickly and efficiently by linking two channels rather than using a single channel. This study suggested that the O2O channel is effective in influencing customer satisfaction and loyalty by inducing customer's positive emotions in recovering service failure.

3D Augmented Reality Streaming System Based on a Lamina Display

  • We propose a three-dimensional (3D) streaming system based on a lamina display that can convey field information in real-time by creating floating 3D images that can satisfy the accommodation cue. The proposed system is mainly composed of three parts, namely: a 3D vision camera unit to obtain and provide RGB and depth data in real-time, a 3D image engine unit to realize the 3D volume with a fast response time by using the RGB and depth data, and an optical floating unit to bring the implemented 3D image out of the system and consequently increase the sense of presence. Furthermore, we devise the streaming method required for implementing augmented reality (AR) images by using a multilayered image, and the proposed method for implementing AR 3D video in real-time non-face-to-face communication has been experimentally verified.

Comparison of Accommodative Function of Young Adults in their Twenties Wearing Monovision, Modified Monovision and Multifocal Soft Contact Lenses (모노비전, 변형된 모노비전, 멀티포컬 콘택트렌즈로 교정 시 20대 성인의 조절기능 비교)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the accommodative function of young adult in their 20s wearing monovision, modified monovision, and aspheric multifocal contact lenses at near task. Methods: Thirty young adults ($23.53{\pm}2.37years$) were fitted with monovision, modified monovision (the application of single vision contact lenses and center-near low addition aspheric multifocal contact lenses), and aspheric center-near multifocal contact lenses. After wearing these modalities during a week for adaption, and after watching visual display at computer for inducing accommodative pressure for 1 hour. The following assessments of accommodative function were made: contrast visual acuity (VA) at distance and near; accommodative response; near accommodative facility; and negative relative accommodation (NRA)/positive relative accommodation (PRA). All measurements were carried out binocularly. Results: In binocular distance VA with contrast of 10%, monovision was the worst among the four modalities (p=0.005). In accommodative response at 1 m (1.00 D), monovision was the lowest (p<0.05) and accommodative response at 40 cm (2.50 D) with monovision was lower than that of modified monovision and multifocal contact lens (p<0.05). We also found that there were no significant differences in accommodative facility and NRA/PRA among the four modalities. Conclusions: In young adult (20s), monovision with low add reduced the accommodative response at near task, however, modified monovision and multifocal lens with center-near type did not affect accommodative relaxation.

The Influence of Accommodation on Watching Home 3D TV at Close Distance (가정용 3D TV의 근거리 시청이 조절기능에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: This study was investigated weather watching 2D and 3D images effecting on accommodative function (AF), and differences between changes of AF by 2D and 3D. Methods: 50 subjects (male 30, female 20) aged 20's to 40's years old ($22.9{\pm}3.93$ years) who are available to watching 3D images were participated for this study. Accommodative amplitude (AA) by near point of accommodation (NPA), accommodative response (AR), positive and negative relative accommodation (PRA, NRA), accommodative facility (AF) were measured before, after watching 2D and 3D images at 1 m distance for 30 minutes respectively. Results: Accommodative amplitude after both watching 2D and 3D images decreased comparing to before watching images, and AA after watching 3D images was significantly lower than after watching 2D images. AR after both watching 2D and 3D images increased comparing to before watching images, but there was no difference between 2D and 3D. PRA and NRA were not significantly different between before, after watching 2D and 3D images. Accommodation speed by AF was increased for before watching ($13.52{\pm}3.32$ cpm) following by for after watching 2D images ($14.28{\pm}3.21$ cpm) and for watching 3D images ($14.90{\pm}3.27$ cpm). Conclusions: Watching images at close distance is effect to accommodation functions, and sequence of AA decrease of before watching images following by after watching 2D images and after watching 3D images may effect to asthenopia with same sequence as AA decrease. The results of increase of AF after watching images, specially 3D images show a possibility of vision therapy and further detail VT studies using 3D images are required in the future.

A Study on the Vibration Analysis of a Deckhouse of Fishing Vessel (어선의 갑판실의 진동 해석법에 관한 연구)

  • For the deckhouse or superstructure, attention is directed to the reduction of vibration from a human susceptibility point of view. The two basic requirements for obtaining a low vibration level in the accommodation are to ensure that excitation forces from propeller and/or main engine are small and to avoid resonance excitation of the hull and superstructure. In recent years increased attention has been directed towards the problems of vibration and noise in deckhouse, which have caused major problems with regard to the environmental quality in the living quarters for crews. Accordingly, in this paper, the characteristic of the vibration of deckhouse of fishing boat, of which the length/height ratio is also relatively high, are studied systematically with regard to the shape and modelling of deckhouse based on finite element method of 1-dimensional, 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional model. This study is divided into 4-part. 1st part is the global deckhouse vibration, 2nd part is the local deckhouse vibration, 3rd part consists of the estimation for stiffness of foundational support and 4th part is the application to TUNA LONG LINER of 416 ton class. For the global vibration analysis, the severity of the vibration depends on the longitudinal shear and bending stiffness of the deckhouse, on the vertical deckhouse support(fore, aft and sides). However, even if the design is technically sound, vibration problems may arise due to vertical or longitudinal hull girder or afterbody resonances. Author applied the method of this study to the analysis of, deep-sea fishing vessel of G.T. 416 ton class with relatively low height and long deckhouse, and investigated the vibrational characteristic of the fishing vessel with earlier structural feature. According to this investigation, the vibration, response of above vessel was confirmed of which main hull and deckhouse behave as one body. It is at the bottom of vibrational trouble which a accommodation part of the fishing vessel is raised, that is the local vibration for side wall, fore-aft wall and deck plate of deckhouse rather than thief fect of fore-aft vibration of deckhouse for above fishing vessel. and the resonance of main hull, deckhouse and driving system such as the main engine, propeller in exciting source is mainly brought up as the trouble.

  • With the rise in national GNP, there has been a surge in people requiring adequate housing. The most who are in need of adequate housing are fresh graduates who have entered the job market, and newly-wed couples. Given the current economic condition it is difficult for young people and newly-wed couples to find reasonably affordable accommodations. In response to this, the government is trying to formulate a new policy, with the aim of helping young married couples find decent accommodation in response to the housing shortage. Research was performed last July with the aim of looking at the differences between the newlyweds' expectation of the idealistic housing and conditions. Questionnaires were distributed to undergraduate and postgraduate research students to find out their requirements. The questionnaire investigated the social background and the condition of the inhabited area; housing type internal facilities; the space required for housing; interior finishing, and storage facilities. The survey results were analyzed using SPSS and found that the design of small residential areas, the space requirements of more diversified individualized areas were the most important concerns for undergraduate and postgraduate research students. From the study we hope this will form a foundation for the design of the future housing social stratum. It is hoped that the current results and conclusions of this survey will be of help for the korean community to provide a direction and a positive input in the future design of newly married housing.

Stage of Service Switching Behavior based on the Transtheoretical Model: Focused on Accommodation Sharing Economy Service (범이론적 모형에 기반한 서비스 전환 행동 단계 연구: 숙박공유경제 서비스를 중심으로)

  • With changes in information technology (IT), many innovative IT-based services, such as AirBnB, have become popular. Switching behavior toward new and innovative services become a major issue for managers who want to attract many customers. In response, many researchers have investigated why customers switch service providers. However, little research has been conducted on the processes of switching behavior for a hedonic service. To fill this research gap, this study aimed to identify the stages of switching behavior based on transtheoretical model. Furthermore, the factors affecting the service switching behavior in stages were identified on the basis of service provider switching model. This study also hypothesized the customer's switching behavior in accommodation sharing economy service and analyzed it empirically. Results showed that the factors affecting switching behavior differ across five stages. The present results can provide a basis to prevent switching behavior and reduce churn by analyzing the difference in switching behavior among stages. This study also helps managers who want to improve organizational performance by enhancing customer retention capability.
