도시거점내 제2종 일반주거지역 상업화 확산과 원인 분석 (A study on the commercialization cause of 2nd class residential area in urban center)

  • The purpose of this study is to find out the commercialization cause of 2nd class residential area in urban center as basic research to protect urban residential area against the pressure of commercialization. Through the research that are based on literature, field survey and urban planning map, it analysed the commercialization cause of selected two sites under similar urban condition ; to be a nearby subway station and to be a famous commercial street in site, etc. The consequences of this study are summarized as follows ; First the distance between subway station and residential block and residential commercialization are in inverse proportion each other. Second, the corner lot of a block and the access street directly connected collector street are very important factors to spread commercialization to residential area. Finally, nevertheless first and second results, there is square zone which is very high rate of commercialization within one regardless the distance between subway and residential block. the maximum range of square zone is assumed about 250 meter based on case study.

대구 약령시 지구 내 가로 체계의 공간구문 분석 (Space Syntax Analysis on Street System in Yakryeong Market District in Daegu, Korea)

  • This study examines the properties of spaces where historical and cultural resources have been preserved in the street system of Daegu Yakryeong market district, by using Space Syntax methodology. The results were obtained through ASA(Angular Segment Analysis) on each node (spatial unit) in the street network. An overall characteristic of spatial configuration in street system of the surveyed district is that nodes in the street network tend to form socially integrated spatial structure to allow easy access to each space in the system. There are a small number of socially isolated spaces in the street system, which are located at nodes in narrow streets adjacent to the roadway outside the district, or in narrow alleys between early modern Korean buildings. More than half of the surveyed spaces have high levels of social integration, which contain buildings playing a central role of the community, a traditional street market, symbolic landmarks. In conclusion, it is expected that the achievements of this study will contribute in leading to rational land use planning for sound and sustainable development of historical and cultural resources in an urban district.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 도시 내 주상복합 건축물의 공개공지 활성화를 위한 계획 및 설계 방법론에 있어서의 시사점을 제시하는 것이다. 이를 위해서 부산시의 "경성대·부경대역' 일대의 주상복합건축물을 중심으로 이론적 고찰과 사례분석을 진행하였다. 분석의 틀은 공간구성·공개공지 가로시설물·공개공지 이용행태·가로와의 연계성으로 설정하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 일반인의 접근이 용이한 개방된 위치에 실제적으로 이용할 수 있는 비어있는 공간으로 구성되는 필요하다. 둘째, 사람들의 이용을 고려하여 실제적으로 휴식에 이용될 수 있는 가로시설물의 설치가 필요하다. 셋째, 일반인의 접근 및 이용행태를 고려한 계획 및 설계와 이를 통한 공간의 조성이 필요하다. 넷째, 가로와 공개공지의 통합과 이를 통한 가로와의 연계성에 있어서의 상승효과를 내는 것이 필요하다.

  • Conventional HP(high pressure) sodium or Metal-halide lamps have a life span of around one year requiring at least annual replacement and maintenance. High Power LED lights require no regular maintenance further increasing savings on replacement bulbs, access equipment and labour costs. New installations benefit from a substantial reduction in the cost of expensive heavy duty cable required for sodium lighting. Especially, LED light can achieve variable color temperature, high functional performance in the field of street light. There are two main method to achieve variable color temperature function of the street light. one method is using RGB multi-chip LED, the other is using Orange-White LED method. In this paper, it was compare RGB Multi-chip LED with white-orange LED for there characteristics performance.

  • The purpose of this study is to find out the commercialization characteristics of 2nd class residential district in innercity railway station area as basic research to protect urban residential area against the pressure of commercialization. Through the research that are based on literature, field survey and urban planning map, it analysed the commercialization characteristic of selected three sites under similar urban condition; to be a nearby subway station and to be a famous commercial street in site, etc. The consequences of this study are summarized as follows; First it finds the commercialized lots in all blocks that adjoin blocks of upper class zoning. Second it is in inverse proportion between the commercialization of lots and the distance from subway station to residential block. Third, the corner lot of a block and the access road directly connected collector road are very important factors to spread commercialization to residential area. Finally, it finds the difference of the commercialization degree of 2nd class residential zone according to arrange main commercial street and the 2nd class residential block; vertical arrangement and horizontal arrangement.

낙안읍성 전통민가의 배치 및 외부공간구성에 관한 연구 (Building Layout and Exterior Space of Folk Housing in Nak-An Village)

  • There have been numerous researches on Nak-An village in Jeollanamdo, one of the most representative traditional castle village in Korea. Most of them have dealt with general and physical architectural scale and features separately. Therefore this study aims to understand the compositional characteristics of building layout and exterior space and the relations between street system and dwelling unit of folk houses in Nak-An village. The study examined houses of ordinary people in Nak-An village constructed before the village was not affected by foreign influences. 36 folk houses in Nak-An built from nineteenth century to early twentieth century and believed to have few physical changes from the original floor plans and architectural forms were the subjects to be analyzed. The most popular types in building layout are "Open L"and "Open U". The most typical orientation of main building is Southwest. The favorable entry into the dwelling lot is from the side. The street system in the village consists of main streets of South-North, resulting in dwelling lots with North-South axis most general. This site condition forces the entry into the lot from North main street and the side access to the main building. From these findings, the building layout and the entry into the dwelling lot of folk houses in Nak-An are strongly related with street system and conditions of dwelling lot.

  • The purpose of this research is to develope street trees management program for more an effective street trees management. The principal point of this program is to relate spatial data and attribute data that is the main concept in GIS(Geographic Information System). To do this function, MapObjects which is ESRI's mapping and GIS components was used to process spatial data and Access which had been developed by MS was used to manipulate attribute data in this program. Visual Basic also was used to design and develop user interfaces and procedures, relate two sort of data, and lastly complete Application. Relational data model was adopted to design tables and their relation, Antenucci's GIS development model was selected to design and complete this program. The configuration of this application is composed of management data and reference data. The management data includes the location of street tree, a growth condition, a surrounding environment, the characters of tree, an equipments, a management records and etc. The reference data include general information about tree, blight and insects.

아파트 담장허물기 유형별 가로공간의 물리적 환경변화 및 이용특성 연구 (A Study on the Physical Environmental Alternations and the Using Characteristics of the Street Place by the Wall Removal Project Types)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the differences between two types of wall removal projects. One was the case that removed one side wall of the apartment in Daegu, another was the instance that eliminated the walls between two apartments in Gimcheon. For this study, the observation method was performed to know the using pattern on the street space, and survey including resident's opinion and satisfaction about result of the project was conducted to gather data. The total number of objects to analysis was 157. The conclusion of this study is as follows. First, when the space was secure from danger of cars, people could access easily. And when it had interesting elements, the street space after wall removal was used by residents. Second, the effective method to connect places was to make intermediate space after wall removal project. In this sense, the way can help to improve the level of quality the daily life of residents. Finally, in the apartment-oriented wall removal project, it could supplement the flaw of the detached house-oriented project and effective potentiality for vitalization of community.

A Street-Child's Board Game: the Endless Quest for Respectability in Ragged Dick

  • Horatio Alger's Ragged Dick (1868) betrays the economic and social system of nineteenth-century America through a self-reformative bootblack's quest for respectability. Being considered a space of constant danger, nineteenth-century New York City serves as a game board, and both visitors and residents of the city are supposed to avoid dangers while moving across its space. Dick Hunter, the juvenile protagonist of the novel, illustrates a street-child who starts his game of life from the backline of the game board. Continuing his quest for respectability, not only must he abandon the bad habits that he acquired as a street-child, but he also must avoid thieves and swindlers just like a tourist or like a player of nineteenth-century American board games. As Dick's social rise goes parallel with his movement in the city space, his entrance to a bank brings him the access to other respectable places, and a series of entrance turns him into a legitimate subject in the official system of the American society. While he continues his game of life successfully with the help of gentlemen patrons, in reality it is almost impossible for a disadvantaged player to escape the backline of the society. Thus, Dick's success story presents Alger's fantasy about the ideal economic system in which materials and persons are endlessly circulated.

  • 현대 사회는 삶의 질이 높아짐에 따라 여가문화를 향유하고자 하는 요구가 증대되고 있다. 이는 문화산업의 발전으로 이어져 다양한 문화산업을 창출하고 있으며, 최근에는 디지털 기술의 발전과 맞물리면서 디지털 문화콘텐츠의 발전이 비약적으로 확대되고 있다. 특히 게임 산업은 첨단 기술과 접목된 종합예술분야로 다양한 부문과의 융합이 가능해 새로운 여가문화를 창출하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 시대적 상황을 고려하여 누구나 쉽게 접근한 수 있는 게임문화의 특징을 기반으로 하는 게임문화의 거리 조성방안을 제시하였다. 게임문화의 거리란 게임이 갖고 있는 문화적 특성을 물리적 플랫폼인 거리에 접목함으로서 게임문화의 다양한 활용은 물론 게임산업의 활성화를 위한 장을 마련하고자 하는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 게임문화의 거리 조성에 관한 타당성과 구성요소 및 물리적 거리 조성방안에 초점을 맞춰 연구하였다.
