  • The WiMedia Alliance has specified a Distributed Medium Access Control (D-MAC) protocol based on UWB for high speed wireless home networks and WPANs. In this paper, firstly, the fair SoQ-based Distributed Reservation Protocol (DRP) for D-MAC is analyzed. And a novel SoQ-based relay transmission protocol is proposed to overcome DRP conflicts fast. In the proposed protocol, each device executes the Satisfaction of QoS (SoQ) time slot allocation algorithm independently. And, in order to give the loser device due to DRP conflicts another chance to maintain QoS resources, the proposed relay transmission protocol helps the device reserve another indirect link maintaining the required QoS resources via a relay node.

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient MAC scheduling algorithm for supporting Bluetooth scatternet operations. Our proposed algorithm improves overall performances of scatter mode[2, 3] and considers QoS requirements of each link of the bridge node of a scatternet. Scatter mode is based on time division scheduling and provides every links of a scatternet with fair service opportunities. However, since each Bluetooth devices has various traffic characteristics. fair allocation of service opportunities is not efficient and may cause extravagance of wireless resources. Therefore, we propose a new efficient inter-piconet scheduling algorithm compliant with the current Bluetooth specification[1], and demonstrate its improved performances via computer simulations.

  • MANET is developed technique fairly among many field of wireless network. Nodes which consist of MANET transmit data using multi-hop wireless connection. Caching scheme is technique which can improve data access capacity and availability of nodes. Previous studies were achieved about dynamic routing protocol to improve multi-hop connection of moving nodes. But management and maintenance of effective cache information because of movement of nodes is not easy. In this study, we proposed cluster-based caching scheme to manage connection by decreasing overhead and moving of nodes as moving node discovers cache of wish information. And HLP was used to maintain effective cache table in each cluster head. Efficiency of proposed technique in this study was confirmed by experiment.

  • The IEEE 802.11 MAC uses DCF for media access among the participating network nodes. But DCF alone is neither capable nor suitable for fulfilling the QoS requirements of realtime applications. There are many ways in which QoS is provided by modifying DCF based MAC. This paper proposes (m,k)-collision scheme which is based on IEEE 802.11 and (m,k)-firm scheme tries to improve DCF functionality. The proposed scheme uses different Contention Window according to the number of collision in the node. The simulation result shows that the proposed scheme helps improve the throughput of the DCF.

  • The concern which is abundant in MANET VoIP for comprising the mobility guarantee and mobile network is received without the infrastructure system between the mobile terminal node. However, because the access of system and border is easy, the issue which is big in the security problem becomes more than the wired network system with this convenience by the foreign network attacker differently. In this paper, we would like to the fundamental web network, NAT and concluding the security problem technology in which Firewall can inquire on MANET VoIP and whether it is appropriate or not which can solve this is proposed.

  • This paper describes problems when visited ISP subscriber gets dynamic IP address in home ISP for wireless internet service on GPRS network. We propose a specific DHCP relay for wireless internet service of visited ISP subscriber on GPRS network. We designed and implemented the specific DHCP relay and installed it in ISP testbed. We show the allocated dynamic IP address using specific DHCP relay for visited ISP subscriber on GPRS network. Now we think it is possible the visited ISP subscriber can access wireless internet service on GPRS network using specific DHCP relay, and UMTS system can be managed IP address for subscriber roaming.

  • In an IP-based network, automated dynamic assignment of IP addresses is preferable. In most wired networks, a node relies on a centralized server by using dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP) to obtain a dynamic IP address. However, the DHCPbased approach cannot be employed in a mobile ad hoc network (MANET) due to the uncertainty of any centralized DHCP server. That is, a MANET may become partitioned due to host mobility. Therefore, there is no guarantee to access a DHCP server. A general approach to address this issue is to allow a mobile host to pick a tentative address randomly, and then use duplicate address resolution (DAR) protocol to resolve any duplicate addresses. In this paper, an innovative distributed dynamic host configuration protocol designed to configure nodes in MANET is presented. The proposed protocol not only can detect the duplicate address, but also can resolve the problem caused by duplicate address. It shows that the proposed protocol works correctly and is more universal than earlier approaches. An enhanced version of DAR scheme is also proposed in this paper to solve the situation of duplicate MAC address. The new and innovative approach proposed in this paper can make the nodes in MANET provide services to other networks and avoid packets from being delivered to incorrect destinations.
