The site of interest is a residence redevelopment area which has excavation construction with cut-off walls. The site is located over Dong-Mang-Bong tunnel and Seoul No. 6 subway tunnel. This study analyzed numerically the influence of vibrations from No. 6 subway tunnel to the basement of the redeveloped apartment away from the distance about 11m. Kyoung-bu highspeed railway's time history model with linearly reduced maximum acceleration is applied to take into the subway maximum speed of 75km/h. The maximum velocity of vibration for the cross section of the interest was estimated as 0.28cm/sec which satisfied the allowable standard of 0.5cm/sec for apartment and residence of Seoul.

In this paper, the seismic performance of SRC piers for near fault motions was evaluated by shaking table tests on small scale models. Dead load of the superstructures was simulated by axial prestress at the center of the column section. A mass frame linked with steel bars was fabricated to include the effect of superstructure mass. Friction of the mass frame when it moves was minimized by special details and it was proved before tests. Five pier models with 400mm diameter were tested by increasing the acceleration of the near fault motion. Test results were discussed and compared with previous quasi-static tests.

This paper deals with shaking table tests on RC piers to evaluate the seismic performance under near fault motion. Small scale models were fabricated and axial force was applied by introducing prestress at the centroid of the column section. Mass effect of the superstructures was simulated by mass frame which was linked with a pier model by steel bars because of the limited payload of shaking table. Friction of the mass frame when it moves was minimized by special details and it was proved before tests. Scale factor of the RC piers was 4.25. Main parameters of the test were details of reinforcements. After verifying the results of shaking table tests, seismic performance was evaluated by increasing the acceleration of the near fault motion.
Provision of Passing Sight Distance (PSD) is an important component in two-lane highway design and has a critical impact on capacity of highway and safety of drivers. Many models have been developed to estimate PSD reasonably. However, each of them has a number of shortcomings for reflecting the real traffic conditions. This paper introduces a revised model that reflects the characteristics of the passing maneuver. The changes in passing sight distances under different assumptions about acceleration and vehicle length, which are related to vehicle types, are presented. The results obtained by the revised model are compared with those obtained from the existing models. There is an important link between geometric design decisions which determine the available sight distance and the quality of service which the road provides. In this paper, we examine one aspect of this relationship. That is to determine whether the passing sight distance is provided by improving horizontal alignment for a specific roadway section or passing may be restricted to save the road construction cost. To do so, a simple method for estimating traffic delay in no-passing is introduced.

The Bourdon tube pressure gauge is the most widely used primary detector for pressure in various kinds of fields recently. However in many cases lots of difficulties are encountered in telemetering, measuring the continuously changing pressure and recording as time goes by, etc. In this paper a Bourdon tube of flat-oval section is considered. On the basis of Wolf's theory, the very sensitive places are selected on the tube and full bridge arrangement is used. Then all of the characteristics are examined in order to use the pressure transducer practically into which the pressure gauge is converted. From the results, the error in meter reading is about $\pm$3% F.S., on the other hand, when measured with strain gauge, the error is within $\pm$1% F.S.. Also external acceleration on Bourdon tube hardly affect practical use.

The purpose of this paper is that investigates the dynamic behavior characteristic of W.T.S(Wind Turbine System) and carries out the evaluation analysis during operating W.T.S. To investigate the dynamic behavior characteristic of W.T.S. the experiments to measure vibration of the blade from the attached accelerometer on the flap and edge section of the blade that is one of the most important elements of dynamic characteristic of W.T.S are performed. Natural frequency and mode shape are calculated with commercial program (STAR MODAL) using the measured vibration acceleration that receives the signal with F.F.T Analyzer from the accelerometer. For validation of these experiments. the finite element analysis is performed with commercial F.E.M Program (ANSYS) on the basis of the natural frequency and mode shape. The results indicate that experimental values have good agreements with the finite element analysis.

In order to achieve thrust vector control and discharge stabilization in Hall thrusters, the azimuthal nonuniformity of propellant flow rate in an acceleration channel was created. A plenum chamber was divided into two rooms by two walls and propellant flow rate supplied to each section was independently controlled. In a magnetic layer type Hall thruster, steering angle of up to ${\pm}2.3$ degree was achieved. In an anode layer type Hall thruster, discharge current oscillation amplitude was decreased with the normalized differential mass flow rate.
For safe last-mile autonomous robot delivery services in complex environments, rapid and accurate collision prediction and detection is vital. This study proposes a suitable neural network model that relies on multiple navigation sensors. A light detection and ranging technique is used to measure the relative distances to potential collision obstacles along the robot's path of motion, and an accelerometer is used to detect impacts. The proposed method tightly couples relative distance and acceleration time-series data in a complementary fashion to minimize errors. A long short-term memory, fully connected layer, and SoftMax function are integrated to train and classify the rapidly changing collision countermeasure state during robot motion. Simulation results show that the proposed method effectively performs collision prediction and detection for various obstacles.

This study researched into the left-right inclination of the rear foot at the lower limb joints, knee joint angle, angular velocity of the knee joint, angular acceleration and the max. Based on the analysis of kinematics according to the changes in the height of step box (6, 8, 10 inches) during step aerobics of female college students majoring in physical education. The findings of this study are as follows: Then angle of the knee joint decreased as the height of the step box increased the min. Angle was measured right before the right foot was on the step box, and the angle tended to decrease as the step box get heightened. The left-right inclination of the rearfoot angle according to the height of step box increased as the height increased. In the 'pull-up' stage during which the weight was loaded on the right foot the angle increased, while in the right foot stepping stage during which the right foot was on the ground, the left-right inclination of the rearfoot angle increased as the height of the step box increased. The angular velocity of the knee joint according to the height of step box started increasing when the right foot initially stepped on the step box and during the initial stepping section, the angular velocity decreased as the height of step box increased. The changes in angular acceleration of the knee joint according to the height of step box increased as the height of step box increased.
In order to understand evaluation of the seismic stability of a fill dam, we made chambers of 1:100, 1:70, and 1:50 (the ratio of the miniature), considering the law of similarity based on drawings of three representative cross sections. And we measured an increase in acceleration, excess pore water pressure, and vertical/horizontal displacement after applying Hachinohe wave (long period), Ofunato wave (short period), and artificial wave, complying with the domestic standards, in order to evaluate the stability and interaction between the ground, the structure, and fluids based on the measurements. As a result, we could observe that displacement of the target cross section was relatively small compared to the allowed level of 30 cm, ensuring proper stability for an earthquake. Regarding the acceleration measurements, the increase rate was 20% for Hachinohe wave and Ofunato wave but 30% for the artificial wave. With respect to the excess pore water pressure, it was lower than 1 (which is the permissible ratio for liquefaction) ensuring proper stability as well.
