Recently WCDMA signal transmission technology by large output microwave antenna have showed reduction of human resources and operating expense. But the existing antenna brackets cost is very expensive also its structure and functions are complicated. Unit brackets, suspending some sensors, subjected to acceleration loads, often fail due to self-vibration. To prevent such failures, it is necessary to understand the fatigue failure mode and to evaluate the fatigue life using tests or analysis techniques. The objective of this study is to develop the component test specifications, which are applicable to predict fatigue life at initial product design step, for unit brackets using vibration fatigue technique. So its application is limited to installation and management. In this project, we studied about more convenient bracket for microwave antennas through improvement on the existing antenna bracket's shortcoming and could develop an improved universal antenna bracket system for simple installation and application.
Single mode optical fiber interferometeric sensors using phase tracking homodyne detection are typically susceptible to environmentally indured temperature fluctuations and other types of disturbances. A simple and effective phase tracking feedback electronic circuit for compensator is described to achieve stabilizing signal output, maximum sensitivity and linearity in the fiber optic Mach-Zehnder infterferometer in the presence of differential phase drift. The phase tracking range of the piezoelectric cyclinder in the reference arm is \ulcorner.7 \ulcornerad and the prabe mass about 1 gram in the sensing arm was used for measurements of the gravity acceleration.
The FastSound project is a galaxy redshift survey using Subaru/FMOS to detect $H{\alpha}$ emitting galaxies at z ~ 1:3, for the purpose of probing the origin of the accelerated expansion of the universe. The survey has detected ~4,000 galaxy redshifts in a total area of $30deg^2$, and detected the redshift space distortion at this redshift range for the first time. The redshift space distortion (RSD) signal will be used to derive a measurement of the growth rate of large scale structure, which will provide a test for modified gravity as a possible origin of accelerated cosmic explansion. Here we present an overview and the current status of the project.
Wearable input device that can make free-space typewriting possible is introduced. We named this device as $SCURRY^{TM}$. To measure the angular velocity of hand and the acceleration rates at the ends of fingers, we buried MEMS inertial sensors in this keyboard. We processed sensor signals to get the information on hand movement and finger-click motion. With this signal processing, apparent finger movements were depicted over the virtual keyboard shown on output device of a target computing system. In this paper, a finger-click recognition method is proposed to improve the recognition performance for finger clicking of $SCURRY^{TM}$. The proposed method is composed of three parts including feature extraction part, valid click part, and cross-talk avoidance part. The experiments were conducted to verify the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed algorithms.
In this paper, to detect exciting frequency on the latticed fence structure, fiber optic sensor using Sagnac interferometer was fabricated and tested. The latticed structure fabricated with dimension of 180 cm wide and 180 cm high, the optical fiber, 50 m in length, distributed and fixed on the latticed structure. Single mode fiber, a laser with 1,550 m wavelength, and $3{\times}3$ coupler were used. Excited vibration signal applied to the latticed structure from 200 Hz to 1 KHz. The detected optical signals were compared to the detected acceleration signals and analyzed on the time and frequency domain. Based on the experimental results, fiber optic sensor using Sagnac interferometer detected exciting frequency, effectively. This system can be applied to the structural health monitoring system.
The purpose of this paper is that investigates the dynamic behavior characteristic of W.T.S(Wind Turbine System) and carries out the evaluation analysis during operating W.T.S. To investigate the dynamic behavior characteristic of W.T.S. the experiments to measure vibration of the blade from the attached accelerometer on the flap and edge section of the blade that is one of the most important elements of dynamic characteristic of W.T.S are performed. Natural frequency and mode shape are calculated with commercial program (STAR MODAL) using the measured vibration acceleration that receives the signal with F.F.T Analyzer from the accelerometer. For validation of these experiments. the finite element analysis is performed with commercial F.E.M Program (ANSYS) on the basis of the natural frequency and mode shape. The results indicate that experimental values have good agreements with the finite element analysis.
Mass estimation was derived as functions of acceleration magnitude and primary frequency. The conventional method of mass estimation used frequency data directly in the frequency domain. The signals that can be obtained sensor contained noise as well as impact signal. Therefore, how well we can detect the frequency data in noise directly determines the quality of mass estimation. To find exact frequency data, we used time-frequency analysis. The time-frequency methods are expected to be more useful than the conventional frequency domain analyses for the mass estimation problem on a plate type structure. Also it has been concluded that the smoothed WVD can give more reliable means than the other methodologies for the mass estimation in a noisy environment.
In this research, the structural health monitoring method using wavelet packet analysis and artificial neural network (ANN) is developed. Wavelet packet Transform (WPT) is applied to the response acceleration of a 3 element-cantilever beam which is subjected to impulse load and Gaussian random load to decompose the response signal, then the energy of each component is calculated. The first ten largest components in magnitude among the decomposed components are selected as input to an ANN to identify the damage location and severity. This method successfully predicted the amount of damage in the structure when the structure is subjected to impulse load. However, when the beam is subjected to Gaussian random load which can be considered as ambient vibration it did not yield satisfactory results. This method is applicable to structures such as machinery gears that are subjected to repetitive loads.
This paper presents the vibration characteristics of reactor internals of Ulchin-1 nuclear power plant, which are identified by using the conventional and the phase separated spectral analysis of the pressure vessel acceleration and ex-core neutron signals. These identified vibration characteristics show excellent agreement with those of Tricastin-1 nuclear power plant that is the prototype of Ulchin-1. And the trend of ex-core neutron signals has been observed during one reactor cycle. These results can be used as basic data for fault diagnosis of reactor internals.
In this study, we implemented the data quality monitoring algorithm which is the previous step for real-time Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) correction generation and compared Global Positioning System (GPS) and BeiDou System (BDS). Signal Quality Monitoring (SQM), Data QM, and Measurement QM (MQM) that are well known in Ground Based Augmentation System (GBAS) were used for quality monitoring. SQM and Carrier Acceleration Ramp Step Test (CARST) of MQM result were divided by satellite elevation angle and analyzed. The data which are judged as abnormal are removed and presented as Root Mean Square (RMS), standard deviation, average, maximum, and minimum value.
