기업과 대학간의 산학협력마케팅 전략모델 구축에 관한 연구 (Establishing a marketing strategy model for academic-industrial cooperation between companies and universities)

  • Purpose - Because of the emphasis on the necessity of academic-industrial cooperation between companies and universities, there are various ongoing academic-industrial cooperation programs led by the government. As government actively supports such cooperation as policy,and universities vitalize new technology development, academic-industrial cooperation between companies and universities is being recognized as an important growth engine for companies the competitiveness of academic-industrial cooperation is also attracting more interest. The government has vitalized human resource fostering, practical R&D, and technology transfer to companies since 2012 by executing a "leading university fostering project for academic-industrial cooperation." Based on an organic interlink among universities, industry, and research institutes, the government also created and is promoting several models of such cooperation between companies and universities to support shared growth of industry and local universities. The purpose of academic-industrial cooperation is growth and benefit fromtechnology development, technical cooperation, and technology transfer between companies and universities. Research design, data, and methodology - As more academic-industrial cooperation efforts are ledby companies due to the limitation in technology-focused commercialization cooperation, the academic-industrial cooperation system became fragmented and it is losing the potential for future advancement. Specifically, as differences between universities grow, academic-industrial cooperation between companies and universities based on new technology from universities is finding difficulty advancing,while systematic support from companies to enhance the performance of businesses created by academic-industrial cooperation is also insufficient. Accordingly, this study established a growth model for the advancement of academic-industrial cooperation between companies and universities and suggested a plan to strengthen the competitiveness and promote the future advancementof academic-industrial cooperation between companies and universities by analyzing the current situation of such cooperation and diagnosing its issues. Results - This study explored the concept and current status of academic-industrial cooperation relationships and analyzed related issues. For such cooperative organizations to be competitive, the employment environment of professional human resources for academic-industrial cooperation should be improved and measures to secure professional resources should be taken as early as possible. Though the academic-industrial cooperation now is being led by government, there is a limitation based on business models, which require creation of profit; however, an academic-industrial cooperation model still cannot stand alone without the support of government. This study also pointed out that a having only a plan to build competitiveness of companies and universities for academic-industrial cooperation is not sufficient. Conclusions - In order to increase the competitiveness of academic-industrial cooperation, a detailed growth-sharing model for academic-industrial cooperation should be developed, and there should be more joint development processes for the advancement of such cooperation in which the need for technology development can be verified in advance. In addition, beyond focusing on technology-focused academic-industrial cooperation, a network between companies and universities searching for ideas for academic-industrial cooperation in the fields of human and social aspects should be created. A new academic-industrial model linking current cooperation between companies and universities to the local area should be built based on such academic-industrial cooperation in human and social fields.

  • Academic Capitalism is one of main steams that university has made. Academic Capitalism means that the resource allocation in the university is made by market forces. Persons who advocate the traditional Ivory Tower will resist the market mechanism in university's resource allocation. But, in several aspect, market mechanism has been in action in the university, whether we recognized it or not. In this paper, five directions of Academic System Innovation were suggested. First, competition among universities should be enforced through decentralization and autonomy. Second, competition among researchers shoul be enforced. Third, government should enlarge the portion of 'use-inspired basic research'. Fourth, autonomy of research units in a university should be enlarged for university's competitiveness. Five, government should provide the environment for structural coupling between university and regional society.

The Qualitative Trade Competitiveness of China in IT Industry: A Comparison to Korea and USA

  • Purpose - The purpose of this paper is to analyze the trade structure and competitiveness of China's information technology (IT) industry in comparison to that of Korea and the United States, particularly in terms of quality. Design/methodology/approach - Indices such as trade specialization index (TSI), Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA), and Market Comparative Advantage (MCA) are used. Further, an Intra-industry Trade (IIT) index is used to analyze qualitative changes in horizontal intra-industry trade and intra-industry trade of high- and low-quality goods. Findings - China's IT industry has a comparative competitive advantage over that of Korea and the United States, and mainly exports goods of inferior quality and imports goods of superior quality. Further, China's horizontal intra-industry trade has been decreasing, while its vertical intra-industry trade has been increasing and vertical trade of inferior quality goods outweighs that of superior quality goods. This shows that China is rapidly catching up with Korea and the United States, even though its qualitative competitiveness has not significantly improved. Research limitations/implication - This study has academic and political implications, as it analyzes changes in China's IT trade competitiveness. However, it is somewhat limited as factors determining qualitative aspects has not been considered. Originality/value - Most studies aggregate analyses of export competitiveness using methodologies such as TSI, RCA, and market share. However, the focus of these methods is price competitiveness. Hence, an examination of the objective and qualitative trade competitiveness of China's IT industry is necessary. this study the trade structure and quantitative competitiveness of the industry by analyzing intra-industry trade focusing on the quality of competitiveness. Therefore, the changes in China's IT industry in the USA and Korea and in foreign trade competitiveness and quality competitiveness are clarified. The results show that the academic and policy implications of these changes in the IT industry will be a useful resource. This is the first study in Korea to attempt such an analysis.   • 이 연구는 OECD회원국의 국가경쟁력과 연구경쟁력의 상관관계를 분석하는데 목적이 있다. 양자를 분석한 결과, GERD, SCI논문수, 평균 인용회수, JCR 등재잡지 특허수 등이 국가 및 연구경쟁력의 주요 지표로 밝혀졌으며, 유의한 상관관계가 있었다. 그 가운데 OECD 선진국이 생산하는 SCI 논문수와 사독형 학술지는 한국의 국가경쟁력과 연구경쟁력을 강화하는 핵심지표이므로 연구경쟁력과 대학도서관의 상관관계를 분석하는 후속연구가 필요하다.

Review of Theoretical Aspects on the Studies of Port Selection Criteria

  • The circumstances surrounding world ports have changed rapidly and port competition to attract cargoes has been increasing fiercely. Specifically, deploying large container vessels resulted fewer port visits and strategic alliance among liner shipping companies. Recently, many studies have worked for improving port competitiveness. However, these studies were limited to evaluation of only port competitiveness and few studies suggested strategies for reinforcing port competitiveness. Although implications of these previous studies are practically available to build policies for port, there have been very few academic studies such as identifying port competitiveness and port selection with related attributes for reasonable evaluation and analysis. Therefore, this study aims to classify the existing studies, which dealt with port selection problem, based on basic structure that was suggested by Murphy (1992). Furthermore, the conceptual definition will be carried out by comparison analysis in terms of time of study, type of data and methodology and decision factor of each study.

Comparison of International Competitiveness of Digital Services Trade between Korea and China

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to analyze and compare the international competitiveness of digital service trade between Korea and China and to help enhance the competitive advantage of digital service trade between the two countries. Design/methodology - This paper designs and establishes a comprehensive evaluation system for the international competitiveness of the Korea-China digital service trade. By using the analytical methods of combining theory and demonstration through qualitative and quantitative analysis, this paper makes a concrete and complete theoretical deconstruction and empirical measurement of its international competitiveness from the two levels of overall competitiveness and departmental competitiveness. At the same time, the study also analyzes the competitive advantages and comparative disadvantages of the two countries. Findings - It is found that South Korea has a strong competitive advantage in the sector competitiveness of digital service trade, and the export structure is reasonable and balanced, but the deficit pattern affects the overall competitiveness. China has a strong competitive advantage in the overall competitiveness of the digital service trade. However, the structural imbalance in the export sector weakens the competitiveness of the sector. Both Korea and China have the space advantage and competitive potential to enhance international competitiveness in terms of development trends. Originality/value - This paper takes the lead in solving the pain point of the relative lack of similar research topics. It demonstrates the evolution process, development trends, and structural characteristics of the digital service trade. A new combination of competitive power research methods is innovated, and a comprehensive evaluation system is established. The above innovation points show the academic theoretical value and practical application value of this study.

중국관련학과의 경쟁력확보에 관한 연구 - 대학정보공시를 활용한 전국대학의 양적 분석을 중심으로 -

  • The rapid change in the university environment due to the decrease in the school-age population calls for enhancing the competitiveness of China-related departments. In this paper, the university's competitiveness and dropout rate were studied in combination with various factors such as geographical location of Chinese-related departments set up at national universities, convergence with other departments, competition rate for entrance exams, scholarships, and employment rate that have a comprehensive impact on student satisfaction. In particular, the dropout rate presented research results that could help universities strengthen their competitiveness in China-related departments, such as by differentiating customized academic strategies according to the atmosphere of elimination through multiple regression analysis and quantile analysis. We hope this thesis will be the basis for policymaking and judgment in China-related departments.

축제전문가의 지역축제 경쟁력 인식에 관한 융합연구 -Q 방법론 중심으로- (A Convergence Study on Competitiveness Perception of Festival Specialists on Local Festival -Focusing on Q Method-)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 지역축제 경쟁력에 관한 축제전문가들의 인식유형을 분석하는데 있다. 최근 지역축제의 유용성과 경쟁력을 개선하고자 하는 노력이 지속적으로 계속되었다. 그러나 연구에 따라 지역축제 경쟁력에 관한 인식의 차이를 보여주고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구는 축제전문가들의 경쟁력 인식유형 분석을 위하여 Q방법론을 활용하였다. Q진술문 작성을 위해 전문가 인터뷰, 선행연구와 신문보도 등 문헌조사를 활용하였으며, P샘플은 축제추진위원, 담당공무원, 문화예술단체 회원, 축제감독, 기획사대표, 관련분야 교수들을 대상으로 선정하였다. Q분석결과 의미 있는 경쟁력 인식 3개 유형들이 도출되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 지역축제 경쟁력 인식들이 지역축제 성공을 위한 경쟁력의 원천이 될 수 있음을 확인하였다. 도출결과를 바탕으로 이론적 실무적 시사점들이 논의되었다.

대학도서관의 아웃리치 서비스에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Outreach Service at Academic Libraries)

  • 대학도서관이 경쟁력을 강화하는 데에는 보다 많은 도서관 이용자와 이용률 증가가 요구된다. 도서관 아웃리치 서비스의 도입 실행이 이에 대한 하나의 방법이 될 수 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 우리나라 대학도서관이 실행 할 수 있는 아웃리치 서비스 방안을 제시하는 것이다. 이를 위해 도서관 아웃리치의 의의, 대학도서관 아웃리치 활동의 특징, 관련연구를 살펴보았다. 그리고, 국내외 대학도서관의 아웃리치 서비스 사례를 조사한 후, 이를 토대로 다문화학생, 편입생, 대학원생, 기숙사생, 교수, 강사 및 강의조교와 같은 이용자 집단별 아웃리치 서비스와 6단계의 아웃리치 활동 절차가 제시되었다.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the difference of educational institutions and majors on Learning Participatory Motivation of Lifelong Education Organizations of Universities and Job Technical Colleges that are operating academic degrees on bachelor of fashion and associate of industrial arts in Academic Credit Bank System. The significance of this study is to provide basic information for educational institutions to promote efficient operation and devise a strategy for reinforcing educational competitiveness according to individual Learning Participatory Motivation and purpose of learners. In this study, educational institutions were classified into Lifelong Education Organizations of Universities and Job Technical Colleges operating academic degrees in Academic Credit Bank System. Degrees were divided into bachelor of fashion and associate of industrial arts, and majors were divided into fashion design and fashion business for bachelor of fashion and fashion design and fashion business for associate of industrial arts. Looking at Learning Participatory Motivation of learners, factors selected by learners as considerations for registration and selection of currently affiliated educational institution were found to be 'acquisition of degree at a university' and 'acquisition of degree' for Lifelong Education Organizations of Universities and fashion design major, and 'for employment' and 'acquisition of new knowledge and skill' for Job Technical Colleges and fashion business major.
