The results of the study can be summarized as follows. The Shu-mu Da-wen was selected and compiled by Zhang Zhi Dong at the end of Qing Dynasty as a reading list for students preparing for the state examination and for the purpose of choosing the best from several versions. Whether it was compiled and edited by Zhang was in dispute. But it is almost certain that Zhang was the main editor because Shu-mu Da-wen showed his political, educational and scientific thoughts and knowledge distinctively. The followings are characteristics of Shu-mu Da-wen being compared with Si-ku Quan-shu Zong-mu Ti-yao. 1. In Jing-bu, the Confucian classics are divided into Zheng-jing Zheng-zhu and 'Lie-chao Jing-zhu Jing-shuo Jing-ben kao-zheng. Zheng-shi lei is divided into Zheng-shi fen he ke ben and Zheng-shi zhu bu biao pu kao-zheng. It is the special sorting method to include Du-ben lei in Jing-bu and Chu xue du-ben in Bie-lu in order to provide first learners for reading order. 2. Shi-bu included Gu-shi newly and Di-li lei is divided into Gu Di-li and Jin di-li in Shi-bu. Tian-wen Suan-fa lei is divided into Zhong-fa and Xi-fa in Zi-bu. Zhang distinguished between old books and contemporary ones to find out the origin and include newly published books in the East and the West. 3. Zhou-Qin zhu-zi is newly added to Zi-pu. In Ji-pu, Bie-ji and Zong-ji are categorized according to their style and period respectively. This show the new sorting method which added classifying system concerning academic development. It is the prominent feature in the compiling system to make Bie-lu and Cong-shu respective chapters. With those characteristics the Shu-mu Da-wen had been edited and published several times. It had a wide effect not only on compiling methods of cataloging afterwards and but also on classification systems before decimal classification was introduced in China.

Chusa is a pearl in our cultural history. His unfavorable times and circumstances made him more and more devoted, and through this, his art was able to bloom brilliantly. He was born and raised in a prestigious family, and was able to establish his academic world broadly through the encounter with Ongbanggang and Wanwon, the great masters of the Qing Dynasty culture at the time of the 20s. Particularly, his artistic activities in the area where he lived in exile allowed him to establish Chusache. He also showed the essence of his literary spirit as a picture of Sehando. Through numerous letters, he can also examine his culture, art, and thought. Furthermore, based on the archaeology of the Qing Dynasty, you can also examine the thoughts and philosophies of the real world. This article intends to examine and review the Aesthetic Sense of Chusa's literary art in terms of mentality through Sehando·Bujakrando. This is because it is judged to be an aesthetic sense that is the essence of Chusa art.
Objectives : Features of military medicine and war pattern at the time Methods : "Haeng Gun Bang Pyeon Pyeon Bang", military medicine literature, that allows pattern of ancient war to be inferred was considered. First, background of this literature formation was examined, and the contents included were arranged based on table of contents. Lastly, pattern of war at the time and role of military medicine were studied through the meaning of times and medicine in this book. Results : This book was written by Naseyo(羅世瑤, of an unidentifiable period), an intellectual of Qing Period(淸代) in the 2nd year of Emperor Xianfeng(咸豊 2, 1852). It was composed of total 3 volumes and a book, and 684 prescriptions were written under 6 large sections(大門). Conclusions : This book was written in the middle of spirit of the times of national prosperity and military power caused by defeat in the Opium War and popular publication in a series, an academic current of the times. Though there were many treatments about external wound in this book, thoughts of armed forces and combat by people of the time were reflected, including drying method(乾法) making portable foods, drinking control method(戒酒法) to resolve drinking(飮酒) problem in the armed forces, treatment method of infectious disease, information collection method from enemy troops by confession, and various treatments for diseases of military horse. It is expected that this book will be good material for studies in the field of military medicine and used as material for diverse combination studies such as history and military science.
This article looks into Lee Gyujun(李圭晙)'s life course, Confucian thoughts, and philosophical ideas on the Medicine of Boosting Yang by translating selectively his "Seokgoksango(石谷散稿)". Translating his works is a pre-requisite in order to fully understand the significance of boosting-yang theory in the historical landscape of Korean medicine, not just to comprehend the Medicine of Boosting Yang. First, it is found through the translation that a previous version of "Seokgoksango" had been probably printed before its existing version 1981. Secondly, there are numerous resistants to the Japanese ruling of Korea among his friendship. Thirdly, his academical root came from the Gihohakpa(畿湖學派) - the Giho school of Korean Seongli Confucianism[朝鮮性理學]. Its genealogy in Gyeongsang(慶尙) province is as follows: Lee Yi(李珥), Song Siyeol(宋時烈), Hong Jikpil(洪直弼), Seo Changyu(徐贊奎) and Lee Gyujun(李圭晙), and last, he kept contact with the Toegyehakpa(退溪學派), the Toegye school of Korean Seongli Confucianism, even though his academic root was closely linked to the Giho school. If the entire parts of "Seokgoksango" is translated, it will serve as invaluable historical document to understand a medical unfolding around the 20th century in Korea.

The purpose of this study was to examine the Russian abstract artist Kazimir Malevich's works during the period of absolutism and thereupon, suggest some knitwear designs practical, decorative and creative. For this purpose, the researcher reviewed domestic and foreign literature, dissertations and academic journals to determine the Russian abstract fine art and the significance of Kazimir Malevich's works in the history of arts and thereupon, examined Malevich's works or the champions of absolutism in terms of their geometric formative elements or forms and colors. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; First, paintings may be important motives for the contemporary costume designs, while being a major driving power for development of some original designs depending on artists' personal thoughts and expression techniques. Second, this study is deemed to suggest creative and original techniques and motive applications for fashion designs by introducing the elements of Kazimir Malevich's paintings into costume designs, and provide for an opportunity to suggest new values by combining arts and fashion. Third, the knit jacquard technique, one of the major techniques for the knit design works using Kazimir Malevich's absolutism works, is considered a tubular jacquard featuring the deepest sense of thickness. The intarsia technique is preferred in the recent trend for light fabric because it features clear background patterns and allows for thinner fabric. Lastly, it is hoped that this study will serve to expand the domain of expression by means of an art marketing or meeting between arts and fashion in our contemporary industries.
The academic world in Korea demands internationally competitive researches at the moment. However, there is a lack of understanding on research trends of Western countries. This research aims to understand how discussions on early modern Japanese plays are developed in Western countries such as America. Also, it aims to consider and compare the present situation of researches on early modern Japanese plays in Western countries, Japan and Korea. In Western countries, modern Japanese plays such as Kabuki and Joruri is accepted and enjoyed as universal plays of the world. It is not only because there is a background of enjoying plays such as Shakespeare's but also researches and translations are accumulated continuously from the early 20th century. In the early 20th century, the main theme of researches was about Kabuki actors in Ukiyoe which was collected because of an interest in orientalism. After 1930s, Japanese arts and handcrafts were sent to art museums in America in order to promote Japanese culture. Also, many Japanese books were donated to university libraries in order to form institutes of Japanology. The war was started when the foundation of Japanology was about to be laid. Students who were interested in Japan were mobilized to the war as agents to understand Japan. After the war, those students started to do researches on Japan on a full scale. There were researchers such as Donald Keen who did researches on Kabuki and Joruri. In western countries, there are researches on patterns of behavior and thoughts of Japanese people, comparison with Shakespeare's plays, dramaturgie, theatricalism as well as censorship of Kabuki during the war and mobilization of Kabuki to the war. It is necessary to understand where my researches are positioned in those research trends. It is also necessary to break away from overlapped and repeated researches of the same point of view and find out new research paradigms.
This thesis is to clarify King Jeongjo's perspective on Chunchu and critical mind on Chunchu Study in Joseon through analyzing more than twenty sets of King Jeongjo's Chaekmun: Chunchu (策文:春秋) which are included in Hongjaejeonseo (弘齋全書). Chaekmun covers extensive themes of Chunchu Study such as composition or contents of Chunchu and assessment of Chunchu and three legends, etc. With this Chaekmun, King Jeongjo emphasized importance of the scripture Chunchu as the 'great scripture for governing a nation' and stressed the need of right interpretation and understanding on Chunchu. Along with the Article Chunchu in Gyeongsagangeui in the year of 1793 and 1796, this material presents not only King Jeongjo's perspective on Chunchu and his academic characteristics but also status and major issues of Chunchu Study in Joseon with significant value in history of thoughts.
The province of the People's Republic of China, the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has historically been known under various names - Eastern Turkestan, Chinese Turkestan, Kashgaria, etc. In the early 19th century this region was one of the least explored in Western scholarship and for the influence over which the so-called 'Great Game', geopolitical rivalry between Great Britain and the Russian Empire, gradually unfolded. This rivalry was one of the significant factors stimulating increased interest in an in-depth and comprehensive study of the geography, nature, and population of Kashgaria. Accordingly, in the second half of the 19th to early 20th centuries, several expeditions were organized that pursued serious academic goals alongside military, diplomatic, and commercial purposes. One of these expeditions, organized by the Imperial Russian Geographical Society, was the so-called 'Tibetan expedition' led by a talented scientist and military figure M.V. Pevtsov in 1889-90. The expedition followed the routes of Eastern Turkestan, the northern outskirts of the Tibetan Plateau, and Dzungaria studying this vast region's geography, topography, nature, climate, and population. The results of this investigation were presented by M.V. Pevtsov in a detailed and comprehensive report published in St. Petersburg in 1895. An important part of this narrative is the so-called "Ethnographic Essay of Kashgaria," which reflects the author's observations and thoughts on this region's ethnic composition, religious beliefs, language, customs, and rituals. This article offers insights and analysis of the content of Pevtsov's report, which provides valuable information about the daily life of the population of Kashgaria at the end of the 19th century to an English-speaking audience.
Purpose: This study aimed to understand how changes in income due to the COVID-19 pandemic have affected the health behavior and mental health status of self-employed individuals. Methods: We compared the health behavior and mental health status of regular wage workers and self-employed individuals with no change in income, with that of self-employed individuals with reduced income due to the spread of COVID-19. Results: Smoking status, average amount of smoking per day, changes in the amount of smoking and drinking due to COVID-19, drinking frequency per year, monthly binge drinking experiences, subjective stress, and suicidal thoughts experienced by self-employed individuals with decreased income were not only higher than those of wage workers and self-employed individuals with maintained income, but their happiness index was also lower than the latter group. Conclusion: This study suggests that the change in total household income due to COVID-19 adversely affects the health behavior and mental health status of self-employed individuals. However, COVID-19-related policies focus only on economic loss compensation, and the health behavior and mental health management for self-employed individuals is insufficient. Therefore, it is necessary to establish policies for health behavior and mental health management of self-employed individuals.
From the Darwinian perspective, all the human behaviors and thoughts are operated by "the selfish gene," the term coined by Richard Dawkins, which has long been evolving to survive by utilizing the limited quality and quantity of resources. And an organism which fails to regenerate by creating its "replicator" is doomed to extinction, for gene combinations which help an organism to survive and reproduce tend to also improve the gene's own chances of being passed on through generations. Dawkins also coins the term "meme" for a unit of human cultural evolution analogous to the gene, suggesting that such selfish replication may also be the principle for human culture. Ian McEwan is not only a controversial but more importantly influential writer in the 21st century academic world. His 1997 book Enduring Love is not exceptional in that it draws both literary and scientific attention. Intentionally set up with the dynamic conflict between the two cultures, namely art and science, the book explores the way in which the state of the modern minds is misinterpreted and estranged by each other. In this novel, the three main protagonists, Joe, Clarissa, and Jed, each representing the very important three elements of human civilization-cognition/science, emotion/art, and faith/religion-meet an unexpected peril of life. The author of the novel employs the narrative of evolutionary science-in particular the narratives of gene and meme-to provoke the question of the two cultures famously addressed by Snow in the mid 20th century and the further discussions followed by the later Darwinian scholars such as Richard Dawkins. In this paper I aim to illustrate the way in which the author develops the idea of gene science and literature and how he proceeds to provide a sophisticated bridge between the two cultures and induce a kind of consilience by the recurrent name of love in the story of Enduring Love.
