This paper concerns the study of a two-stage absorption heat pump cycle to utilize treated sewage. This two-stage cycle consists of coupling double-effect with parallel or series flow type and single effect cycle so that the first stage absorber and condenser produces hot water to evaporate refrigerant in the evaporator of the second stage. The effects of operating variables such as absorber temperature on the coefficient of performance have been studied for two-stage absorption heat pump cycle. The working fluid is lithium bromide and water solution. The efficiency of the two-stage absorption heat pump cycle has been studied and simulation results show that higher coefficient of performance could be obtained for the first stage with parallel flow type. The optimum ratio of solution distribution can be shown by considering the COP, the crystallization of solution and the generator temperature.

The present study investigated experimentally and numerically the enhancement of absorption performance due to the waviness of falling film in the vertical absorber tube. The momentum, energy and mass diffusion equations were utilized to find out temperature and concentration profiles at both the interfaces of liquid solution and refrigerant vapor and the wall. Flow visualization was performed to find out the wetting characteristics of the falling film. The maximum heat transfer coefficient was obtained for the wavy flow using spring as an insert device through both numerical and experimental studies. Based on the numerical and experimental results, the maximum absorption rate was found for the wavy-flow using spring as the insert device. The differences between experimental and analytical results ranged from $5.0\;to\;25\%\;when\;Re_j>100$.

The present study predicted the effect of the flow rate of coolant on the absorption performance of a vertical falling film type absorber Heat and mass transfer peformances were numerically investigated. The exit temperatures of solution and coolant were decreased as the flow rate of the coolant was increased at the film Reynolds number of 100. The absorption mass flux was increased and then decreased as the distance from the inlet of the absorber was increased. The distance showing the maximum absorption mass flux was ranged from 0.3 to 0.5m. The heat flux and the absorption mass flux were increased and then slowly decreased as the flow rate of the coolant was increased. The maximum values were obtained at the flow rate of coolant of 2.0L/min.

This study demonstrated the effect of IT Ssupports for Iintegration Ccompetency(ITSIC) on organizational performance by using organizational temperance and absorption capacity as medium. The research model was verified with Smart PLS 3.0 based on the survey conducted overa total a total of of 126 pparticipantseople's surveys for the employees. First, the ITSIC had a positive effect on both the alignment and adaptability and also on absorption capacity. Second, it was confirmed that organizational temperance hads a positive effect on absorption capacity. Third, when the organizational temperance was mediated in the relationship between ITSIC and absorption capacity, it had a indicated a positive effect. Fourth, absorption capacity had a positive impact on organizational performance. The implications of this study differ from the existing studies through by validating validation of correlations correlations by extending IT technology and organizational performance to organizational ethical factors. In addition, it has been established that the ethical factors of the organization also act as leading factors of absorption capacity. ITSIC helps managers make balanced decision-making, which can contribute to improving absorption capacity by giving members a positive perception, ultimately having a positive impact on organizational performance. It suggests the importance of building appropriate IT infrastructure and cultivating organizational virtues in order to improve the performance of organizations in which absorption capacity is essential.

The objectives of this paper are to examine the effect of nano-particles on the pool type absorption heat transfer enhancement and to find the optimal conditions to design a highly effective compact absorber for ammonia/water absorption system. The effect of $Al_2O_3$ nano-particles and carbon nanotube(CNT) on the absorption performance is studied experimentally. The experimental ranges of the key parameters are 20% of ammonia concentration, $0{\sim}0.08\;vol%$ (volume fraction) of CNT particles, and $0{\sim}0.06 \;vol%$ of $Al_2O_3$ nano-particles. For the ammonia/water nanofluids, the heat transfer rate and absorption rate with 0.02 vol% $Al_2O_3$ nano-particles were found to be 29% and 18% higher than those without nano-particles, respectively. It is recommended that the concentration of 0.02 vol% of $Al_2O_3$ nano-particles be the best candidate for ammonia/water absorption performance enhancement.
This study describes the results of Coefficient of Performance(COP) analysis by cycle simulation for two types of absorption-compression hybrid cycle using the Water/Lithium Bromide solution pair. These types are basic hybrid systems introducing a mechanical compression process into the refrigerant vapor phase of the single effect absorption cycle. In absorption-compression hybrid cycles, coefficient of performance is improved compared with absorption cycle. Hybrid cycle Type 2 is considered as a key technology to support energy utilization system, given its capability of utilizing waste heat to drive system with a high level of efficiency.
PURPOSES : It is necessary to prevent premature failure of concrete pavements caused by durability problems. The purpose of this study was to find factors affecting the durability of concrete pavements, and suggest improvement methods for existing concrete mix design. METHODS : Factors influencing durability were derived from laboratory test data for common field failure conditions and main properties of concrete cores taken from the field. The improvement of concrete properties was investigated by evaluating the performance of existing and proposed mix proportion designs and curing methods. RESULTS : The compressive strength and the absorbing performance of the low Blaine cement and the high-strength mixture were better than those of the Type I cement. Wet curing showed better compressive strength, elastic modulus, coefficient of thermal expansion, and absorption performance than air curing or compound curing. As a result of comparing concrete cores collected in the field, the sections with good durability showed good performance in terms of resistance to chloride ion penetration, absorption, and initial absorption rate. CONCLUSIONS : The absorption performance was considered as a possible foactor affecting durability of cement concrete pavements as a result of field core tests. In order to improve the durability of the pavement concrete, it is necessary to improve the existing mixtures and curing methods.

This paper presents a computer simulation of five types of triple effect absorption cycles employ-ing the refrigerant absorbent combinations of NH3/LiNO3 low-pressure type NH3/LiNO3+H2O/LiBr binary two-stage type series flow cycle and two types of parallel flow cycle for H2O/LiBr. The absorption systems is investigated through cycle simulation to obtain the system characteristics with the cooling water inlet temperature approach temperature of absorber loss temperature of absorber and chilled water outlet temperature. The most important characteristic temperature of absorber and chilled water outlet temperature. The most important characteristic of NH3/LiNO3 low-pressure type and a NH3/LINO3+H2O/LiBr binary two-stage type is that it obtains a coefficient of performance higher than the sum of the performance coefficients of its part operating independently. As a result of this analysis the optimum designs and operating conditions were determined based on the operating conditions and the coefficient of performance.

This study explores and selects an appropriate material that considers light and soft physical properties as well as activity for impact absorption pads that can be used to develop practical impact protective clothes worn during daily life by the elderly to reduce the impact of falls. Physical properties, impact absorption performance, and compression characteristics were evaluated on 5 types of foam, 2 types of 3D spacer fabric, and 3 types of polymer gel to select a material appropriate for the pad to be inserted into impact protective clothes. The evaluation of the physical properties showed that 3D spacer fabrics had lower density compared to other materials and polymer gels had the highest density. The elongation percentage was higher in foams than 3D spacer fabrics and EPDM foam had the highest elongation percentage. The impact absorption performance of honeycomb polymer gel was better than foams and 3D spacer fabrics. As a result of looking into compression energy and compression characteristics of materials, 'CR foam A' was found to absorb the largest amount of compression energy, 24.1%, among foams and polymer gels. A high energy absorption rate of 50.0% (or above) was indicated by 3D spacer fabrics; however, foams and polymer gels showed a progressive deformation of energy compression / recovery curve with 3D spacer fabrics that showed drastic deformation. Based on characteristics of materials, 'CR foam C' and EPDM with relatively high absorption performance can be used as protective pad materials among foams. Among polymer gels, 2 open-type polymer gels that have relatively low impact protective performance but a relatively lighter weight on human body (compared to closed-type) are considered appropriate protective pad materials.
