  • In this paper, ZnO:Al thin films with c-axis preferred orientation were prepared on Soda lime glass substrates by RF magnetron sputtering technique. AZO thin film were prepared in order to clarify optimum conditions for growth of the thin film depending upon process, and then by changing a number of deposition conditions and substrate temperature conditions variously, structural and electrical characteristics were measured. For the manufacture of the AZO were vapor-deposited in the named order. It is well-known that post-annealing is an important method to improve crystal quality. For the annealing process, the dislocation nd other defects arise in the material and adsorption/decomposition occurs. The XRD patterns of the AZO films deposited with grey theory prediction design, annealed in a vacuum ambient($2.0{\times}10-3$Torr)at temperatures of 200, 300, 400 and $500^{\circ}C$ for a period of 30min. The diffraction patterns of all the films show the AZO films had a hexagonal wurtzite structure with a preferential orientation along the c-axis perpendicular to the substrate surface. As can be seen, the (002)peak intensities of the AZO films became more intense and sharper when the annealing temperature increased. On the other hand, When the annealing temperature was $500^{\circ}C$ the peak intensity decreased. The surface morphologies and surface toughness of films were examined by atomic force microscopy(AFM, XE-100, PSIA). Electrical resistivity, Gall mobility and carrier concentration were measured by Hall effect measuring system (HL5500PC, Accent optical Technology, USA). The optical absorption spectra of films in the ultraviolet-visibleinfrared( UV-Vis-IR) region were recorder by the UV spectrophotometer(U-3501, Hitachi, Japan). The resistivity, carrier concentration, and Hall mobility of ZnS deposited on glass substrate as a function of post-annealing.

  • Flat-panel x-ray detectors using a phosphor and photoconductor material have been used for application in various medical modalities. In this study, the monte carlo simulation, optical and x-ray response characteristics were investigated in the conversion structure obtained by a columnar CsI:Na scintillation layer with a photosensitive amorphous selenium layer. Firstly, from the measurement of luminescent spectrum of CsI:Na and absorption spectrum of a-Se layer, the signal conversion characteristics are analysed. And also, the x-ray sensitivity is measured and compared with conventional a-Se($500{\mu}m$) as a function of electrical field. From the experimental result, the x-ray sensitivities of the CsI:Na($180{\mu}m$)/a-Se($30{\mu}m$) detector and the a-Se($500{\mu}m$) detector were $7.31nC/mR-cm^{2}$ and $3.95nC/mR-cm^{2}$at an electric field of $10V/{\mu}m$, respectively.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the interaction of progesterone with various cyclodextrins (CDs) in the aqueous solution and in solid state, and finally to formulate a parenteral aqueous formulation. CDs used were ${\alpha}-$, ${\beta}-$, and ${\gamma}-CD$, $2-hydroxypropyl-{\beta}-CD$ (HPCD), sulfobutyl $ether-{\beta}-CD$ (SBCD), $dimethyl-{\beta}-CD$ (DMCD) and $trimethyl-{\beta}-CD$ (TMCD). The solubility studies of progesterone were performed in the presence of various CDs as a function of concentration or temperature. The solubility of progesterone increased in the rank order of ${\alpha}-CD$ < ${\beta}-CD$ < ${\gamma}-CD$ < TMCD$ < HPCD < DMCD < SBCD. Addition of SBCD (200 mg/ml) in water increased the aqueous solubility $(9.36\;{\mu}g/ml)$ about 3,200 times, and lowering the temperature facilitated the solubilization of progesterone. However, the addition of HPCD and SBCD in 20:80 (v/v) polyethylene glycol 300-water and propylene glycol-water cosolvents markedly decreased the solubility of progesterone, compared with solubilizing effects in water. Physical mixtures and solid dispersions of progesterone with HPCD or SBCD were prepared, and evaluated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), near IR spectroscopy and dissolution studies. By DSC and IR studies, it was found that progesterone was dispersed in HPCD in monotectic state and dissolved rapidly from both solid dispersions. Based on solubility studies, new aqueous progesterone fonnulations (5 mg/ml) containing SBCD (200 mg/ml) could be prepared and did not form precipitates even after 2 months at $4^{\circ}C$. The solution was transparent when mixed with normal saline and 5% dextrose injection at 1: 1, 1:10 and 1:20 (v/v) even after 7 days. Permeation rates of progesterone through a cellulose membrane from 20% PEG 300 solution $(50\;{\mu}g/ml)$ containing HPCD or SBCD were compared with oily formulation. Permeation of progesterone from oily formulation did not occur up to 8 hr, but aqueous formulations showed fast permeation rates from early stage of permeation study. The addition of HPCD or SBCD retarded the permeation rates of progesterone with the increase of CD concentrations, suggesting the possibility of a controlled absorption from the site administered intramuscularly. These results demonstrate that it is feasible to develop a new progesterone parenteral aqueous injection (5 mg/ml) using SBCD.

  • The main cause factor for effective the output, especially in small & irregular shaped field of electron beam therapy, are collimation system, insert block diameter and energy. In the absorption deose of treatment fields, we should consider the lateral build-up ratio (LBR), which the ratio of dose at a point at depth for a given circular field to the dose at the same point for a 'broad-field', for the same incident fluence and profile. The LBR data for a small circular field are used to extract radial spread of the pencil beam, ${\sigma}$, as a function of depth and energy. It's based on elementary pencil beam. We consider availability of the factor, ${\sigma}$, in the small & irregular fields electron beam treatment.

  • A simple method to evaluate the hygroscopic characteristics of polymer of microelectronic plastic package is suggested. To evaluate the characteristics, specimens were prepared, and the internally absorbed moisture masses were measured as a function of the absorbing time and calculated numerically. The hygroscopic pressure ratio was calculated by heat transfer analysis supported by commercial FEM code because the hygroscopic diffusion equation has the same form as the heat transfer equation. The moisture masses were then summed by the self developed code. The nonconductive polymers had quite different characteristics for the different lots, even though they were the same products. The absorbed moisture mass variations were calculated for several different characteristics, and the optimal curve of the mass variation close to experimental data was selected, whose solubility and diffusivity were affected by the hygroscopic characteristics of the material. The method can be useful in the industrial fields to quickly characterize the polymer material of the semiconductor package because the fast correspondence is normally required in industry. The weight changes in the aluminum-nonconductive-polymer joint due to moisture absorption were measured. The deformed system was also measured using the Moire Interferometry system and compared with the results of finite element analysis.

  • The functional loot orthoses, when wearing shoes, are in the direct contact with bottom of foots to improve and recover the correctness of abnormal lower limb musculoskeletal imbalance and the primary role of foot and also, it can act to keep the balance and weight of body and support the weakened region, so that it is very helpful to keep body balance for the standing position. In this paper, it was researched that foot orthoses which is accommodable for the function of impact absorption including the gait stability affect on the balanced performances of body in according to the formation and the material of foot part. Taking into account the balanced performances by using the sway velocity, the estimation and comparison of the effects on the balanced performances by each formation and material for foot orthoses was evaluated into significant values(p<0.006) in only the eye-opening posture with Firm state, In this posture, the static process performed by each foot formation reveals in order of normal foot(p<0.010), flat foot(p<0.000) and hollow foot(p<0.003) and then, on the base of each formation of foot part, the result that analyze the effects of the materials of foot orthoses on the balance performance appeared showing that soft materials is more effective on the normal foot and, on the other hand, rigid materials is more effective in balancing on flat foot and hollow foot.

  • Filtering rates of Crassostrea gigas were experimentally investigated with reference to effects of water temperature and size. Absorptiometric determinations of filtering rates with oysters being fed diatom Chaetoceros calcirtans were carried out in a closed system. Optical density of 675nm in path length 100mm cell used as the indication of food particles absorption was appeared directly In proportion with the concentration of diatom pigment $chlorophyll-\alpha$. In the closed system where $C_0$ is $OD_{675}$ at initial time 0, $C_t$, at time t, and Z is the decreasing coefficient of OD as meaning of instantaneous removal speed, then $C_t=C_0{\cdot} e^{-2t}$, $Z=In(C_t/C_0)/t$. On the assumption that the filtering rate is constant, then removal rate per unit time (d) is $d=-e^{-z}$. If t is used to time unit of hour (hr), the filtering rate (FR) in I/hr is given by $FR=V{\cdot}d=V(1-e^{-z})$, where V is the water volume (I) of the experimental vessel. Filtering rate increased as exponential function with increasing temperature while not over critical limit. The critical temperature for filtering rate was assumed to be between $28^{\circ}C$ and $29^{\circ}C$. And the weight exponent for filtering rate is 0.223. The model formula derived from the results as FR, $Ihr^{-1}$ = $Exp(0.208{\cdot}T-4.324){\cdot} (DW)^{0.223}$ (T<29 $^{\circ}C)$ where T is water temperature $(^{\circ}C

  • The low and unstable yield of soybean has been a major problem in Japan. Excess soil moisture conditions are one of the major factors to restrict soybean productivity. More than 80 % of soybean crops are cultivated in converted paddy fields which often have poor drainage. In central and eastern regions of Japan, the early vegetative growth of soybean tends to be restricted by the flooding damage because the early growth period is overlapped with the rainy season. Field observation shows that induced excess water stress in early vegetative stage reduces dry matter production by decreasing intercepted radiation by leaf and radiation use efficiency (RUE) (Bajgain et al., 2015). Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the responses of soybean growth for excess water conditions to assess these effects on soybean productions. In this study, we aim to modify the soybean crop model (Sinclair et al., 2003) by adding the components of the restriction of leaf area development and RUE for adaptable to excess water conditions. This model was consist of five components, phenological model, leaf area development model, dry matter production model, plant nitrogen model and soil water balance model. The model structures and parameters were estimated from the data obtained from the field experiment in Tsukuba. The excess water effects on the leaf area development were modeled with consideration of decrease of blanch emergence and individual leaf expansion as a function of temperature and ground water level from pot experiments. The nitrogen fixation and nitrogen absorption from soil were assumed to be inhibited by excess water stress and the RUE was assumed to be decreasing according to the decline of leaf nitrogen concentration. The results of the modified model were better agreement with the field observations of the induced excess water stress in paddy field. By coupling the crop model and the ground water level model, it may be possible to assess the impact of excess water conditions for soybean production quantitatively.

  • The artificial aggregates (AAs) composing of 2 wastes, coal bottom ash and dredged soil (7 : 3, weight ratio) were fabricated as a function of red mud contents,0~30 wt% using direct sintering method at $1050{\sim}1250^{\circ}C$ for 10 min, and those physical properties were evaluated. Especially, in order to analyze the red mud addition effect on the bloating phenomenon of AAs manufactured, the specific gravity and water absorption were measured and studied linked with the microstructural observation results. The lightening of AAs was enhanced due to increased bloating with increasing temperature and red mud contents. The AAS sintered at $1050{\sim}1150^{\circ}C$ showed well-developed black-coring structure, but for the specimens containing red mud sintered over $1200^{\circ}C$ generated excessive liquid and gas caused by reduction of $Fe_2O_3$, thus the black-coring part was gradually burst open out of shell of AAs. Particularly, all specimens containing 30 wt% red mud was burst up when sintered over $1100^{\circ}C$. The AAs containing no red mud sintered at $1200^{\circ}C$ had a specific gravity of about 1.2 and those containing 20 wt% had below 1.0 which are characters of lightweight aggregate.

  • Objective: The aim of this study was to clone alternative splicing isoforms of pig myoneurin (MYNN), predict the structure and function of coding protein, and study temporal and spatial expression characteristics of each transcript. Methods: Alternative splice isoforms of MYNN were identified using RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) and cloning techniques. Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) was employed to detect expression patterns in 11 tissues of Large White (LW) and Mashen (MS) pigs, and to study developmental expression patterns in cerebellum (CE), stomach (ST), and longissimus dorsi (LD). Results: The results showed that MYNN had two alternatively spliced isoforms, MYNN-1 (GenBank accession number: KY470829) and MYNN-2 (GenBank accession number: KY670835). MYNN-1 coding sequence (CDS) is composed of 1,830 bp encoding 609 AA, whereas MYNN-2 CDS is composed of 1,746 bp encoding 581 AA. MYNN-2 was 84 bp less than MYNN-1 and lacked the sixth exon. MYNN-2 was found to have one $C_2H_2$ type zinc finger protein domain less than MYNN-1. Two variants were ubiquitously expressed in all pig tissues, and there were significant differences in expression of different tissues (p<0.05; p<0.01). The expression of MYNN-1 was significantly higher than that of MYNN-2 in almost tissues (p<0.05; p<0.01), which testified that MYNN-1 is the main variant. The expression of two isoforms decreased gradually with increase of age in ST and CE of MS pig, whereas increased gradually in LW pig. In LD, the expression of two isoforms increased first and then decreased with increase of age in MS pig, and decreased gradually in LW pig. Conclusion: Two transcripts of pig MYNN were successfully cloned and MYNN-1 was main variant. MYNN was highly expressed in ST, CE, and LD, and their expression was regular. We speculated that MYNN plays important roles in digestion/absorption and skeletal muscle growth, whereas the specific mechanisms require further elucidation.
