CQUEAN (Camera for QUasars in EArly uNiverse) is a newly developed camera system by CEOU optimized at 0.8 - $1.1{\mu}m$ wavelength region. From Aug. 10 to Aug. 17, 2010, the camera was installed at 2.1m Otto Struve telescope at McDonald Observatory, USA, and engineering test observation was performed. We obtained the data for the characteristics of camera and scientific purpose using 7 filters (g, r, i, z, Is, Iz, Y). For the purpose of discovery of z - 5~6 quasar, we specially used new filters (Is,Iz). During the test observation, we obtained the data of Gamma-Ray Burst, high redshift quasars, high redshift quasar candidates and other calibration data. We present general characteristics of the reduced data taken with CQUEAN and show the performance of the camera.

The purpose of this study was to analyze early adolescent-family stress and family coping according to differences in general charactiristics. This study is also intended to analyze relationship between early adolescent family stress and coping. The subjects of this study consisted of (292) middle school students of the city of sokcho. The data were collected between Aug. 23, 1993 to Aug. 28, 1993. At tools of measurement, McCubbin & Patterson's 'A-FILE (Adolescent-Family Inventory of Life Events & changes)' and 'A-COPE (Adolescent Coping Orientation for Problem Experiences)' were amended and made use. For the statistical analysis of data, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson Correalation Coefficient were utilized The results were summarized as follows: 1) General characteristics influencing the level of adolescent-family stress were parents status. (p=.000) 2) General characteristics influencing coping were parent's religions. (father: p=. 003) (mother: p=.039) 3) There was a significant difference between the level of adolescent-family stress & coping. (p=.000)

An intensive field study was carried out during Aug. 1993 in Seoul to study the characteristics of summertime visibility and diurnal trend of ionic composition of ambient particles. A transmissometer, nephelometer with heated and unheated inlets, PM3 fine particle sampler, and cascade impactor were used to measure optical and particle properties of ambient air. During this study period, a weak smog episode has occurred. Light scattering by particles is the most dominant factor on total light extinction. The effect of light absorption by particles in Seoul is much higher than other major cities in U.S.A. throughout the summer and fall with relatively constant values. The effect of water on $b_{sp}$ was small during the period. The particle size distribution shows a typical bimodal one. Sulfate, ammonium, chloride, and nitrate are the major chemical species in fine fraction aerosols, about 30% of toral mass concentration. Concentraion of sulfate is higher during the daytime while those of nitrate and chloride are higher during the nighttime. Ammonium concentration is constant through the daytime.

For the purpose of clinical analysis of secundum atrial septal defect, the patients with atrial septal defect operated on during the period from Aug. 1959 to Aug. 1983 were analysed. The age of the patients was ranged from 3 months to 60 years and there were 132 males [45.3%] patients and 145 female patients [54.6%] in this series. The most frequent type was oval type defect in 219 [86.9%]. The PAPVC were present in 7 patients of high defect group. Clinical analysis revealed 53 patients [19.9%] were asymptomatic. The QP/QS above than 3.61 were 45 patients and less than 1.5 were 24 patients. The pulmonary artery pressure was 10 to 100 mmHg. The majority of the defects were closed in primary suture and closed with a Dacron patch in 19 patients. The postoperative complications occurred in 35 patients [13.1%] and the most frequent complication was wound problem which was present in 10 patients. The hospital mortality rate was 1.6%.

The development of information technology has been expected to change the living style and upgrade the living environment. These expectations are somewhat realized, but there are certain groups that will be less benefitted by these upgrades compared to other groups. These phenomena are called digital divide, which is the latest Issue around the world these days. There are several factors that raise digital divide such as gender, education, job, age, income and region. In Korea, the most critical factor may be considered as region but so far this has only been assumed and there has been no empirical surveys about this. This study is proposed to survey the remote rural areas to find out the actual situations of digital divide compared to the urban areas in Korea. And the results will be used as a basic data to make strategies and policies in order to improve the rural living environments.

The gas phase structures, energetics, and interconversion pathways of five lowest energy conformers of acetylcholine were examined employing the B3LYP, MP2, and CCSD(T) methods in conjunction with diverse basis sets including the correlation consistent aug-cc-pVDZ and aug-cc-pVTZ basis sets. It is found that use of adequate basis set containing proper polarization and diffuse functions capable of describing the floppy potential energy surface of acetylcholine is important in correctly predicting the relative stability of these conformers. The interconversion pathways and barrier heights between these conformers were elucidated by examining the potential energy surface for torsional motion, which also manifested the presence of chiral conformations of acetylcholine corresponding to the original conformations. On the basis of high level electronic energy calculations and thermal contribution analysis, four lowest energy conformers appear to be populated in the energy range of less than 1 kcal/mol at room temperature.

Objectives : The aim of this report is to evaluate antitumor efficacy of Rhus vernifciflua STOKES decoction (Chijong-tang). Methods : One advanced gastric cancer patient with peritoneal seeding and mesenteric metastasis visited Hana integrative Clinic of Korean medicine in Aug 2012 and was treated with Chijong-tang for 14 months. Results : Chijong-tang showed no side effect during its treatment (Aug 2012 ~ Oct 2013) and the patient showed no disease progression. Conclusion : This case report suggests that Rhus vernifciflua Stokes decoction (Chijong-tang) can be a potent anticancer agent for gastric cancer, but it still required further scientific and clinical evidence.

This study was performed to investigated the contamination levels of harmful heavy metals were sampled from Aug. 1 to Aug. 31, 1997, at 9 areas in Cheonbuk area. The heavy metal contents were determinated by ICPS(Inductively Coupled Plasma Spectrometer) method. The levels of total lead, cadmium, aluminum, iron and copper were determined and the results were summarized as follows: The minimum and maximum values(ppm) of 9 areas of Carassius auratus were Pb: 2.03~6.19, Cd: 0.06~ 0.76, Al: 8.84~23.5, Zn: 10.68~48.71, Cu: 0.60~1.51ppm. Among the five heavy metals contents, the highest was zinc and the lowest was cadmium. The results showed that the contents of Pb, Cd, Al, Zn and Cu in Carassius auratus were lower than the FAO/WHO maximum allowance.

Freshly harvested American ginseng (Panax quinquefolium L.) seeds were stratified at two locations over each of three years. Seed development and temperature in the stratification boxes were investigated until the seed was removed 12 months later and direct-seeded in the field. During stratification and seeding (14 months) three embryo stages were identified. In Stage I of 250 days (Sept. to mid-May) embryo length increased from about 0.5 to 1.0 mm: in Stage II of 100 days (mid-May to late Aug. when seeded) length increased to 2.0 mm and in Stage III (late Aug. to late Nov.) length increased to 5.3 mm. Excerpt split width could also be placed in three stages. Changes in embryo length correlated with embryo endosperm length ratio. Insertion compression tests showed that the excerpt softened rapidly in late Stage II and throughout Stage III. The stratification box temperatures at all depths (10, 25 and 50 cm) never exceeded -2$^{\circ}C$ even when the air temperatures dropped to -13$^{\circ}C$ and were, therefore not damaging to the seeds.
